Kenzi found it odd that there were only two First Years in her section. Usually, once the new year rolled in, her class was bustling with eager First Years, ready to shove their names and weapons in everyone's face. It was a good deal that there were only two in her section and for two very good reaosns. The first reason being the teachers: Konome never did like explaining the rules more than once, and, when she did, there was always a bite in her voice at how incompetent and stupid the First Years were being. Kenzi definitely remembered getting scolded last year for not understanding the rules of SAD. She almost felt bad for Adam and Brant.
The second reason was the Elite Years. When it came to the point when one class fought another, the Elites never went easy on the First Years. Georgia sat well away from the the others but still close enough to be seen. She was still being mopey about her own fight and how successful Kenzi's had been. That was never the case in her life, and knowing that her stupid train of thought got her in the losing seat made her feel lower than dirt. Still, being out gave her a chance to observe the Elite Years. They were all anxious to be the last ones to do the fighting. She imagined that they wanted to show off their skills in the arena as they did every year. She took a quick, red-eyed glance over to Brant and Adam, scoffing under her breath. For the last fight of the day, she expected to see some potential out of the first years. The last thing she wanted was to go to lunch bored.
She might just start another fight if it came to that.
Konome watched the two boys enter the arena and find their marks. She quirked her head to the side at how calmly Brant took his position, whereas Adam? He was...slightly more than anxious to begin. Konome was careful to keep a close watch on the boy. The last thing she wanted was for another one of her students to die.
Again.
