The advent of the Academia Crystalis, and the subsequent demand for Immortallis weapons from the students arriving in droves to test their skills against the Academia's entry test, created a suitable ground for growth of a small industry mass-producing Immortalis weapons. While the products lack the je ne sais qoui of the unique, one kind of weapons that is often attached to Immortalis weapons, they more than make up for it in availability, production quality and designs proved by ages of warfare. The forefront of this trend, Karminsky&Schochel's workshop, has been arming the Bathmeran Republic and every state that occupied it's territory before. Their master smiths have accepted the Immortalis forging as simply the latest and newest technology in weapon design. As such, the weapons they produce are epitome of pragmatism, tools made for soldiers and armies. Not flashy, ostentatious, without an ounce of sense for aesthetic arts.

Their sons and daughters, such as Francesca, are weapons you can bet your life against the life of your opponent, and come out on top of the wager.

Magical Abilities:
  • Sidestep ("We know better than the nature"): The advanced technical research at Pinarosa unravelled quite a bit about the principles of how the universe tries to keep check on itself playing by the rules. The Immortalis turned out to be, unsurprisingly, a central pivoting point of this theory, the magic working as a glue between discrete points in space. As such, the theory would see, for a very poignant example, the reshaping of the world after the Battle of the Valley of Immortals as an analogy to a capacitor being charged past the critical point and shorted out, damaging itself in the process.

    The damage is of course being felt to this day, and the whole world is suffering for it. A skilled crystal wielder, however, one educated in the forms and factors of how the universe measures itself, can use this damage to his or hers advantage. They can instantly travel between two places, sufficiently close to each other, by, for the lack of a better word (well, words with less than twenty syllables), 'telling' the universe those two places are literally next to each other, while in reality being dozens of paces away.
  • Dissociation ("Relax. Try to imagine life from someone else's point of view"): The crystal wielder can 'detach' his senses from his body, and move the point from which their receive the sensory information. The wielder needs to have excellent awareness of their surroundings, and the surroundings of the receiving point, otherwise the sensory input can arrive with noise and false information. In extreme cases, when the ability is performed without preparation or carelessly, in can damage the sensory organ being detached, or even drive the wielder mad from dissonance between what the brain expects to see/hear/smell/touch, and what is actually fed to it through the spell.

Personality: Try to include what kind fighter your char is.

Backstory: Born a second son of a veteran sapper and triage medic, from his birth Arcturus has been surrounded by environment that valued taking action over wasting words. While undeniably talented and intelligent, just as his father, his personality took strongly from his mother, a person who acted cold and distant to all but her closest ones. Her personality was forged from seeing hundreds over hundreds of spilled guts, limbs snapped and torn by familiars and even worse things that were never recorded into history books and those who lived through them swore to never retell the tales. Regardless of the ghost of their past, the two veterans of the Crystal War struggled, and succeeded, in providing their three children with loving and supportive home, in hope that future of their children would prove to be better than their past.

Despite all of this, Arcturus' early education years were quite difficult. The silent, unproblematic kid became target of bullying, taunting and jokes. He tried to fight back, but quickly realized it was a battle impossible to win. Instead, he did the next best logical step. He joined a clique, made several shallow friendships, occasionally cracked a dry joke when around his friends and minded his own business. Acting like others, conformity towards the other kids, made them lose their interest. He considered asking his parents about his experience with human nature, but then changed his minds. It was of no value, his actions mere words, wasted around people who meant nothing to him. There was no real effort excreted, no solid action.
