"How'd he die?"
She just stared downward, twiddling her fingers. "Old age." She.. Probably kept her answers short on purpose.
"How'd he die?"

"Oh. Boring."
She.. Didn't comment. She didn't seem to have it in her to get mad at him for that comment right now.
"I thought there would be more to your world. When do I get to slay a dragon?"
She tilted her head at him. "..I doubt you could pull that off. Even witches are difficult foes."
"Don't underestimate me." ... He was probably joking.
She looked at him warily. "..You have no sword. Or bow. Or... Anything. And the only magic you seem to know is that of healing."
"I doubt you could do it."
"No, but I am great at kill stealing."
She looked confused. "How does one 'steal kills'?"
"I keep my K/D ratio up by hiding and coming in at the last moment."
Now she looked much more confused. "...What?"
He just smirked at her.
She just stared at him with a mix of confusion and curiosity. It seemed he'd pulled her out of the sadness that had come with discussing the king's death.
That had been the idea, but it was unlikely he'd tell her that. "Don't worry. I can handle any scrubs."
"Casuals."
She still probably didn't understand, because she gave him an odd look. Moments later, she shook her head and looked away with a faint smile. "...You're odd, you know that?"
"... And?"
She just smiled wider. "I like it. It's quite entertaining."
