A Different Kind of Romeo and Juliette

Anger and annoyance flashed in her eyes but she clamped her jaw shut to keep herself from saying what she really thought about all of that. "Mom please. I can comb my own hair." She muttered.

Her Father grunted. "Show some respect for your Mother." He scolded.

"I'm going to sleep." She said, and stalked to her room, her back straight, Tyler's charm still hidden in her dress.

Tyler thought about it. Suitor? Elliot would be wedded to someone else? He followed Elliot for what he could through looking in windows trying to be hidden as much. That was until she climbed the stairs.

He shifted back to human and started climbing the tree next to her light window from a candle she had just light. When he reached the top he knocked on her window softly hoping it was who he thought was in the room.

When she heard a tap on her window, she set the candle down and went over to it, opening it, and gasped when she saw Tyler. "What are you doing?" She whispered. "Just...stay outside. My parents would know if you come in." She said, hoping Tyler would listen to her as she took the charm he had given her out of her hidden spot in her dress.

"I had to see you again." Tyler said with a soft sigh looking at her with a smile. He held tight to the tree next to him.
"Party?"

She rolled her eyes. "Yeah. Party. If you could call it that. More like showing me off to get married whether I like it or not." She muttered in complaint. She kept her voice no more then a whisper.

Tyler thought about it for a moment. "What if we were to marry rather than a suitor." Tyler offer leaning in closer to her.

Her eyes widened and she stood there, speachless. "You know what would happen." She grumbled, looking away from him.

"We could run away though. There's a small town not far from here. Think about it. Free from family expectation." Tyler said still where he stood.

She sighed, fiddling with the charm he had given her. "I barley know you Tyler. Accept for the few things you've told me tonight." She refused to meet his eyes. "If it were discovered...that we had married...without permission..." She swallowed nervously and took a step away from her window.

Tyler sighed knowing she was right. "Consequences that no one wants right? Well lets get to know each other. Its a costume party tonight right? I'll come, and pose as a wealthy farmer. Excuse for the reason I smell, and high land owner."

Elliot bit her lip, though she was concidering, then sighed and shook her head. "I'd be happy if you came but uh...these lords are powerful vampires and they wouldn't buy it. They'd unmask you as soon as you came through the door. And it's tomorrow night." She explained.

"You do realize that my cousin Benvolio is invited right? He's neither vampire, nor werewolf." Tyler said thinking about it.

"Then what is he?" Elliot asked. Suddenly she had an idea. "See if you can get your cousin to invite you then." She said.

"He's oddly enough just him. I think he's a halfbreed from some distant relative. Its sorta a family secret." Tyler said scratching behind his one ear, "But yeah I can get him to do so."

She nodded. "Yeah. I think you should go though, before my parents wonder who I'm talking to, if they haven't already. See you tomorrow." She said, and hurriedly closed the window and changed into a white night gown and crawled into her coffin, placing the charm he'd given her under her pillow.

Tyler smiled sliding down the tree. "I'll see you tomorrow to." he said happily skipping back to the lake. "Oh Elliot... I think I'm in love."

She woke up the next night and boredly got ready for the party, hoping that nothing terrible would happen to Tyler if he was discovered. She dressed in a dark green emerald dressed that matched her eyes perfect, with black lace and headed downstairs to meet up with her parents.

"Come on Benvolio. I'll come as an escort." Tyler pleaded watching his cousin closely, "Don't you want me to get out of the house once in a while. Forget Rose?"
Ben sighed but nodded, "You can come. Just don't shift."
Tyler cheered silently running into his room before his parents could say anything on the matter.
He had to figure out what he could go as. There was his nice green suit, but no mask. He pondered for a second looking around his room before his mom walked in.
"You're going to the vampire party aren't you?" she asked softly.
Tyler nodded to be honest with his mother.
"Than you'll need a mask won't you?" she said with a smile holding out a silver green mask, "I've always loathed the war between the two clans. So much blood shed for what?"
"Nothing..." Tyler finished for her.
She nodded looking up at her son, "You behave tonight, and care for her. Who ever she is. I'll cover for you."
"Thank you so much mom." Tyler said hugging her before grabbing his suit and the mask and dressing when she left.

Elliot headed downstairs, a few of the earlier arivals already there. She forced herself not to grimice, knowing this party was to just show her off and let all of the men try and woo her into marriage. She sighed as the few already their kissed her hand and introduced themselves. She was wearing Tyler's charm he had given her on a bracelet she had maid, hoping Tyler would be able to make it over.

"Now behave." Ben said as they walked into the party. Tyler nodded slipping into the crowd to find Elliot. He hoped that she could tell it was him under the mask. When he found her he just about swooned, but took a deep breath and walked over to her.
"It appears we match." he said with a smile bowing to her.
