"Not anymore." Axel shrugged. Technically, he was supposed to go over to Mika and Claire's to help the younger brunet practice with the newest version of the deck he built specifically to use against Yuya, but that could wait if Robin was here on hero business. He could text Mika later to raincheck and suggest he get Lance's help instead. Lance was a better duelist anyway, and he needed to come out of his stupid shell already.

"What's up?" He asked, his grin fading a little when he noticed Robin looking a bit troubled. "Something wrong?"

"Reaching out, give me a lifeline..."

"Nah, just.." Robin sighed a bit, motioning Axel to follow as he headed down the sidewalk. "... I didn't tell anyone I was planning on seeing you yesterday, or the offer- until today." He admitted with a grimace. Kaludr had been... well, not whelmed. But, he agreed that Axel had been a big help the other night, and did still wish to talk to him. "Believe me, they're gonna welcome you- it's me they're not too happy with." He snorted a little. Then there was the other guy... well, he'd cross that bridge when they got there. "But, no one else knows about your past. Just Batman and myself." The shorter teen assured him.

Axel blinked in surprise at Robin's confession, walking alongside him down the street. "That's pretty bold of you, but I respect it." He chuckled a little. He felt a sense of relief at knowing that the whole group wasn't going to be aware of his.. previous uses of his powers..

"You're sure they're okay with having me on the team, though? I've got like.. no experience with this stuff." He reminded Robin

"Say your prayers and let the good times roll..."

"That's what training is for, VK promised to teach you some hand to hand stuff." Robin assured him, easily navigating out of the neighborhood and down the sidewalk- soon heading into a dark alleyway. He didn't seem too bothered by it though, used to Gotham no doubt. He soon stopped beside an old phone both OUT OF SERVICE written in bold letters on an told tapped up piece of paper. "And don't worry, you'll get your own log in- until then, you'll be piggybacking off of mine."

"VK?" Axel repeated in confusion, glancing around as Robin led him down the street. He paused when the shorter make turned down the dark alley, watching curiously as he stopped next to the busted phone booth. "Could you- I don't know- be a little less cryptic?" The brunet muttered as he walked into the alley to join Robin. "I feel like I'm about to be kidnapped, here."

"Who told you I was down here?"

Robin only gave a shameless chuckle that seemed to echo around the males, wordlessly, he stepped into the booth. Which appeared to be in good condition- and proved it wasn't a real busted up phone booth. "Recognized. Robin- B 01." A female voice rang out as it scanned the younger male- who soon vanished in a flash of light.

"Ah-" Axel winced, covering his eyes at the sudden light. "What was that?!" He questioned, alarmed as he blinked a few times and lowered his arm to look around again. Did he actually just get kidnapped!?

"Welcome to the playground..."

"Zeta Tube, it's how we get around." Robin replied as they reappeared in a flash of light, in- an extremely well built cave it would seem. The floor before them done with high tech, someone clearly put a lot of time and effort into this. "Once you figure out your codename, you'll get a number like mine." He explained, smiling a bit at the sight of Kid Flash and Violet Kestrel messing with a holographic game of table pucks- the brunette scowling as she tried to slid her puck in the goal- Kid Flash easily blocking her with one hand as he munched on an apple.
"Oh come on-"
"What?" Kid Flash smiled innocently, soon looking up along with Kestrel, the two blinking in surprise at the sight of Robin and Axel.

The umber eyed male stared at the holographic game in a bit of awe, until he noticed both Kid Flash and Kestrel staring back at him. "Hey," He said, giving a bit of an awkward wave. "Uh, nice place you've guys got."

"Look who makes their own bed, lies right down within it- what will you have left?"

"Hey, you're the guy who helped us out the other night." Kid Flash soon spoke up, quickly finishing off his apple before tossing the core away into a nearby trashcan. Kestrel smiled gratefully at the reminder, "Yeah, thanks again for that." She added in, soon walking over as she held out a gloved hand towards the taller brunet. "I'm Violet Kestrel, but you can call me VK, or Kestrel."

"Nice to officially meet you." Axel shook her hand with a bit of a grin of his own. "I've got a couple of friends who'd go nuts to have your autographs, let alone meet you guys in person." He chuckled a little. Robin had said he could tell a few people, and he'd probably have to give up the act at some point with Mika and the others, but at least for now, he thought it'd be better to keep this all a secret.

Lance was uptight enough as it was, and Lapis had been in a sour mood towards his brother since that night. And Axel didn't want to cause more tension between the brothers with this superhero business.

"A million dreams are keeping me awake..."

"Well, as an ever so popular hero-"
"People mistake you for Speedy." Kestrel smirked at the offended look Kid Flash sent her, "VK!" He grumbled out, he and the others looking over as the rest of the Team joined him. Aqualad, Superboy, and Miss Martian. "Huh, he wasn't kidding.." Superboy muttered out, as Miss Martian quickly cleared her throat. "Hello! Thank you for helping us that night." The redheaded female smiled warmly, "I'm Miss Martian, and this is Superboy and Aqualad. Robin said he... wanted to bring you in, we'll be happy to have you with us."
Aqualad walked over, holding out a webbed hand for the older male. "I admit, we... were surprised, but your help will be needed on this Team, thank you for coming."

The brunet glanced back, eyebrow raised at the blunt comment Superboy made. He quickly forgot it as Aqualad approached him and offered a hand, which Axel shook with little hesitation. "Probably not as surprised as I was when Max came and paid me a visit the other day." He joked lightly, sending Robin a knowing look. He still doubted that was anywhere near Robin's real name, but it had given him an easy cover story to tell his friends.

"In the end, the choice was clear..."

"Max?" Some of the teens looked at Robin with a mixture of disbelief and amusement. "Hey, I needed a cover name." The youngest male defended as Kid Flash smirked at him. "Max Malone?" He chuckled at the look Robin sent him, even through the sunglasses. "We are happy to have you with us." Aqualad smiled a bit before it faded, "Although I must confess, the young man you helped us defeat the other night... he is also joining the Team."

"Huh?" Axel looked at Aqualad in surprise. Robin hadn't told him that bit of information. Somehow Axel felt... relieved, to hear that. He never met his friend's neighbor, but he'd seen him around, and knew he had a younger brother he was looking after. The brunet had honestly been feeling guilty, thinking about the what-if's of those two after he help the Team that night. He didn't want to have played any part in tearing up an already damaged family...

"That's.. that's honestly good to hear." He admitted. "I look forward to meeting him." Axel smiled a bit, quickly looking over to the spot he ans Robin had arrived in when he heard the feminized robotic voice drone out once again, followed by the flash of light.

"Recognized. Hadal - 46."

"Take a look around at the sea of masks..."

"Didn't want to say anything until I knew you'd be joining up." Robin assured Axel with an apologetic smile. Although he didn't explain why Robbie Reyes joined the Team. That was Robbie's choice to tell Axel if he wanted to. He and the others knew because Batman had told them- which made sense, since the older male's counts of murder. The teen grimaced a little. Maybe he should tell Axel- he and the others looked up when the Zeta Tube activated.
"Ooh, what till you meet this guy." Kestrel grinned a bit.

Umber eyes widened when Axel saw a hero he reconized from Lapis' many Justice League infodumps. Hadal. Apparently the codename was a play-on-words referencing the fact that the Siren grew up in deep ocean trenches, rather than in Atlantis like so many other ocean dwellers. Though that was all just speculation. The brunet was surprised, though, at how differently he looked when compared to Aqualad. He thought all denizens of the ocean were like Aqualad and his mentor.

The Siren was dressed casually, if not a bit formal. A long black turtleneck- though the neck was actually obscured by a sleek device that covered the sides and back of the man's neck. It appeared to be full of water, and Axel supposed it was to help the Siren stay on land comfortably. Overtop his shirt, he wore a large knitted cardigan, woven with many shades of blue, green and gold to make vertical pattern. He had on charcoal grey slacks, and deep brown boots.
Axel had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from chuckling upon seeing the fishhook shaped earring hanging from the fin that sat where his right ear would be.

Hadal seemed annoyed, his pink and green eyes glaring down at the sealed envelope in his hands until he noticed the Team and Axel. "Robin, didn't I talk to you last week about bringing home strays?" The redhead asked with a sigh, sending the envelope away with a flash of dark sea green magick before anyone could even think to ask about it.

"Legends will be told, I know they will..."

Superboy sent Hadal a glare as he crossed his arms in front of his chest. Robin simply smirked at the Siren. "Sorry you're not more whelmed, but this guy's here to stay." The youngest male replied shamelessly. "Axel, meet one of our den mothers, this is Hadal. Hadal, this is one of the newest members of Team." He didn't hesitate to introduce the two. "Don't mind him, he's not always so grumpy." Kestrel whispered to Axel with a small grin. "He's got a soft side, he just won't admit it."

"Uh, what's a den mother..?" Axel whispered back to Kestrel, only to straighten up as the redhead walked over to him, holding out a webbed hand to shake. The tall brunet tentatively shook his hand, surprised by how cool Hadal's skin was to touch, like he'd just been out in the snow for hours. That was unlikely though, considering how he was dressed.

"Welcome to the Team. As Robin said, I'm here as one of the den mothers, but I'll be coming and going fairly often for offical League business. As for what that means to you, well.. Consider me your parol officer, Alexander Andersen." He said with somewhat of a cheeky smirk. Axel felt his stomach drop for a moment before he reminded himself of what Robin had told him. Only he and Batman knew. He was probably just kidding.

Right..?

"Jokes aside, I will be one of the League Members that are responsible for tbungs like assigning your missions, debriefings, training, and punishments, should you rowdy teenagers do what teenagers do best." Hadal explained, tucking his hands away in the pockets of his cardigan. "Something I'll be handling exclusively for you all is the occasional seminar on the wide world of magick. They are mandatory, just so you are aware. Hopefully you won't follow Kid's example and sleep through them."

"Destiny is overrated, so I think I'll write my own..."

Kestrel coughed back a giggle at the grumblings from Kid Flash, "He's not a magic fan." She explained to Axel. "Says the Catholic." The redhead remarked with a huff. "Hey, he's teaching us about it." The masked brunette corrected with the whites of her domino mask narrowed at the young male. "There's a difference." The young woman did look up though as the Zeta Tube activated.
"Oh good, you get to meet Red-"

"Recognized. Ghost Rider B- 08."

"Never mind..." Kestrel grimaced uneasily as Robbie Reyes appeared in a flash of light, "... yeah, yeah that's great Gabe-" He paused when seeing everyone gathered, "... gotta head into work now, I'll pick you up tonight... promise." The young man gave an awkward and anxious smile at everyone. "... I'm right on time." He soon shoved his phone in his pocket.
Robbie wasn't stupid, he knew the others were wary of him. Kestrel more than the rest. It was either working with the Team to repay his debt to society- or going to prison for his crimes. The choice was simple.
