"Ladies and gents, this is the moment you've waited for..."

It was an important day for a lot of people- and one Yuya Sakaki was more than happy to witness it via phone screen along with his friend Yuzu- both silent and practically giddy to witness the teenage- apprentices to some of the world's most important heroes- become members of the Justice League. All on the forth of July nonetheless! "Man I wish we could be there." Yuya groaned, grumbling when Yuzu shushed him. "They're just walking into the Hall of Justice." Yuya commented, earning a grumble from Yuzu. "This is a big deal, there'd be more news or something."
"To be fair, it's not official- but it's in the right step, they've got that going for them." Yuya commented, sighing as the LIVE video feed ended, prompting him to put his phone away. "Maybe we can convince our parents to go to D.C." Yuya sighed as he laid down on the grass. "Unlikely." Yuzu laid down next to him, both staring up the clouds as they passed by. The summer was hot- as always... but it was still easy to dream and shoot for the stars.

"Lapis, would you put your phone down and help me with this?" His older brother, Lance asked impatiently as they walked down the street together,

"Don't you want to see who got picked to join the Justice League?" Lapis questioned back, a wide grin on his face, eyes never leaving his phone screen as he watched the live video. "Not really. Besides, isn't that just an empty title?" The blond huffed, adjusting the two boxes of Fourth of July party supplies he had balanced in his arms. Lapis was supposed to be carrying one of them..

"Hey now, that's not very nice, they've been working hard, and they deserve some recognition at the least." The blue haired male insisted, only putting his phone away when the livestream ended, quickly taking one of the boxes from his brother as they reached the park they always cut through on their way home. "Gosh, I can't wait to have a popsicle when we get home.. this heat is killer.." Lapis groaned with a sigh.

"Just surrender 'cause you feel the feeling taking over..."

"You hot?"
"Yes." Yuya groaned and sat up along with Yuzu, the Duelists soon rising to their feet. The heat was unbearable- and even with some clouds covering the sun- the muggy feeling in the air remained. "We should get some ice cream." The red eyed teen grinned as he and his friend climbed off the hill to get to the sidewalk. "Ice cream would be a decent way to beat the heat." Yuzu admitted with a small grin.

"Come on, aren't you just a little excited about the big news?" Lapis asked, lightly nudging his brother's arm. Lance huffed. "Hero stuff is your thing, Lapis. Not mine." He reminded the younger teen. Lapis rolled his eyes playfully. "That's right, you're more into Duel Monsters." Lapis chuckled when his brother blushed and shushed him.

"I am not!" He whispered. "I just think the tech behind it is interesting- that's all." The blond defended quickly. "Yea, sure." Lapis chuckled more.

"It's fire, it's freedom, it's flooding open..."

"Do you think any of yhemthem play Duel Monsters?"
"They're trying to save the world." Yuzu reminded him as they walked along together. "I doubt they even have time for that." She sent her friend a knowing look as they talked, unaware of just who they might be walking into. "Come on- I know you gotta be curious." Yuya grinned at the eye roll she sent him. "I bet Robin has a Synchro deck-"

"No way, he's a planner like Batman. If anyone has Synchro it's Kid Flash." Yuzu flushed in embarrassment at the chuckle Yuya sent her.

Lance gave another huff, glancing forward for a moment. "Lapis," He said as he started to slow down, while Lapis kept on walking, a cheeky grin on his face. "All I'm saying is there's no reason to be ashamed of your interests." The blue haired teen said simply. He shifted the box in his hands a little, the flags propped up in the box rolling to the side, the fabric of the flag gettin in Lapis' face "Lapis, watch where you're-" Lance grimaced as he watched his brother walk straight into one of the two teenagers coming down the path from the other direction. "-going.."

"It's the preacher in the pulpit and your blind devotion..."

"Yuya-!"
"Ah!" Said teen grunted as he ran into someone, a startled noise leaving him as he bounced back a bit- Yuzu quickly catching him. "Why don't you two be more careful?" The blue eyed female questioned with a huff, going quiet when she saw their stuff scattered about. Grimacing, she and Yuya got down to their knees to help pick up their fallen items.

"Oof- ah!" Lapis grunted when he bumped into somebody, yelping when he fumbled and dropped his box of supplies. Lance sighed, shaking his head. "Oh gosh- I'm so sorry- are you okay?" Lapis stammered as he crouched down as well. He paused, looking at Yuya for a moment, before quickly scrambling to clean up the mess of party supplies.

"So tell me, do you wanna go? Where it's covered in all the colored lights?"

Yuya didn't miss the look sent his way- he had a feeling why, but he quickly tried to play it off. "We're fine, you're the one who dropped all the stuff." He pointed out as he picked up the party supplies with Yuzu. "You two getting ready to celebrate the 4th?" The red and green haired teen couldn't help but ask. Judging from the red, white, and blue decorations- it seemed more than likely.

"You bet!" Lapis smiled, nodding his thanks for their help. "Our parents host a party for the neighborhood every year."

"You mean they go overboard every year?" Lance said with a sigh, clearly sounding less excited than his brother. "If you're interested, you can come by for a bit. It's not far, and everyone's welcome." The blue haired teen invited. "Lapis, they're complete strangers, they don't want to come to some generic barbecue." Lance said. "Sorry, about him." He added in as he looked to Yuya and Yuzu.

"Do you ponder the manner of things?"

"We actually have plans ourselves." Yuzu admitted. "But we can still swing by if you want!" Yuya quickly said before holding out his hand, "I'm Yuya by the way, and this is my friend Yuzu." The red eyed teen always enjoyed meeting new people. More so if they didn't totally know who he was related to- yet at least. But it never stopped him from trying.

"Only if you want. I wouldn't want to impose. I'm Lapis, and this is my brother, Lance." The blue eyed teen introduced, happily shaking the shorter teen's hand with a bright grin. Lance nodded in greeting, a small smile of his own appearing. He wasn't the biggest people person, but it always made him happy to see Lapis making new friends.

"I've got fire in my soul..."

Yuya grinned back, "It's nice to meet you too. Sorry again about running into you." Maybe they really didn't know who he was- which was nice. If it weren't cruel words, they were pitying looks. Which were just as bad- but, obliviousness still worked. The teen quickly pushed such thoughts away. "But we'd like to at least stop by and say hello... if that's okay."

"Oh, that'd be great!" Lapis' grin grew and he quickly dug through the box, pulling out a marker and a napkin. He wrote down their address onto the little firework patterned napkin before handing it to Yuya. "Feel free to come by anytime after 5:00! We'll save some barbecue for you!" Lapis offered, before gathering up the box of supplies.

"Like glitter and gold.."

Yuya's heart warmed up with joy as Lapis offered him the napkin, to which he happily took. "Thank you, we'll meet you then." Saying their goodbyes, the pair soon headed off. "They seem pretty nice, huh?" Yuya hummed a bit as he pocketed the napkin. Yuzu simply smiled softly. She just hoped they'd remain nice- the last thing she wanted was for her friend to get cruel words or pitying looks from them once they learned the truth.
Especially when he was all excited over the superheroes and stuff- no way would she let someone ruin this day for him.

Lance watched the two as they headed off, soon leading they way again as he and Lapis continued on home. The younger brother had a content smile on his face, this time properly watching where he was going.

Once the duo returned home, it didn't take long at all for Lapis and their parents to get everything set up. Lance helped out a bit, but he seemed distracted. Moreso than usual. "Everything okay, Lance?" His brother asked. "I hope you don't have high expectations for your new 'friends' to show up tonight." The blond admitted worriedly. "They might not bother showing."

Lapis gave a frown. "I know. But I like to think that if Yuya and Yuzu didn't want to come at all they would have said so. "There's nothing wrong with a little optimism, you know." The blue haired teen said, earning a faint chuckle from his brother.

"Come alive, come alive, go and light your light..."

Yuya was a bundle of excitement all day, everyone noticed- his friends at the You Show Duel School- all to his mother. Yuzu didn't hesitate to explain it was over the prospect over a new friend, and Yuya didn't mind, it was a nice thing to think about. So, after spending a nice afternoon dueling with Gong and the others, the red eyed teen and Yuzu soon found themselves heading to the address Lapis gave them. "Glad mom gave us these cupcakes, I'd hate to show up empty handed." Yuya commented. Yuzu simply smiled as they approached the house, before her good expression faded. "Yuya, listen-"

"Yuzu, let's... let's have a happy fourth, okay?"
At her friend's words, the pink haired teen sighed softly and nodded before smiling. "Sounds like a good plan to me."

"Believe me, I know how much you believe in optimism." Lance said, following after Lapis as the blue haired teen headed over to their pool. "But sometimes I worry you that you believe in it too much." The blond said. "Rememeber the last time you tried to make a friend?"

Lapis grumbled a little, kicking off his shoes and tossing his t-shirt off to one of the lawn chairs by the poolside. "You know, if you disapprove so much, you're welcome to go hide away in your room like you always do." The blue haired teen said, crossing his arms as he let himself fall into the pool. Lance grimaced as the splash of Lapis falling into the pool got him a little.

"And the world becomes a fantasy..."

Yuya and Yuzu looked up at the front door nervously, the times on their phone reading a few minutes after five minutes. "Well, no time like the present." Adjusting the container of cupcakes in one hand, the red eyed teen soon knocked on the door. "Hope we're not too late.." The male muttered under his breath.

"Lance! I think there's someone at the door!" The blond heard his mother call out. Blinking in surprise, he turned and headed inside, through the house and to the front door. Lance soon opened the front door, green eyes going back and forth between Yuya and Yuzu in a bit of surprise. They really came. "Oh," The blond quickly cleared his throat, side-stepping to make room for the two. "Uh, welcome." He said politely, if not awkwardly. "Everyone's already in the backyard."

The blond led Yuya and Yuzu through the house, giving them a quick tour of the layout, before bringing them to the back yard, where his parents were finishing up setting out some food. "..Sorry in advance if my parents are.. too much. They're just really friendly." He whispered to the two.
