IC Thread

You live high above in the sky, on a series of mystical floating islands. Far underneath is a thick layer of clouds, with nothing below as far as you know. The people here get around by riding winged beasts, ranging from dragons to griffins, even large birds. Each of these beasts chooses its rider when both are at a young age, and are bonded for life.

The center of the largest island is the Academy. Here, knights are trained to one day defend the islands. The Academy is fully equipped with dorms, a kitchen and small cafeteria, washrooms, a small library and a classroom. Outside is the training yard.

● The idea for this RP is based on the game Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. It doesn't use any of the lore or story and many changes have been made, so you won't be lost even if you've never heard of the game.

● Your character can be any of the following classes:

○ Trainee;
Trainees are currently enrolled in the Academy. Their job is to learn from instructors and knights, build relationships with fellow trainees, and practice flying and fighting. They live in single bedroom dorms within the Academy.

○ Knight;
Knights have already graduated from the Academy. They patrol the skies looking for any sign of danger, such as storms. Intruders have not been spotted for hundreds of years. They either live in the Academy dorms or their own houses off the main island.

○ Instructor;
Instructors are responsible for teaching trainees, but also serve as a constant source of guidance for knights as well. It's not uncommon for them to take on knightly duties as well. They either live in the Academy dorms or their own houses on or off the main island.

○ Civilian;
Civilians either have yet to enter the Academy, or have no ties to it at all. Civilians pursue other jobs such as baking or alchemy. Children are classified as civilians until they are permitted to enter the Academy. They live in their own houses off the main island.

● Land below the clouds may become a plot point later, but for now I don't have anything planned.

● There are no age restrictions for any class, though every character must be at least ten years old.

● If it has wings and is a reasonable size, it can be your character's beast. However, I'm going to reject anything that exists just to be silly. You can always ask me what's okay. Dragons, griffins, oversized birds and pegasi are just some ideas.

● Medieval-style weapons are common here. Swords, bows, spears, axes, hammers, maybe crossbows and tomes if you really want to get fancy with it.

● Long wooden platforms are scattered around the islands. These are used to summon your beast by leaping off of them and whistling. Your beast will always come to you, however, if it does not, there is certainly something wrong...

History; Zeke grew up in an orphanage on one of the islands. As a kid the others would pick on him because he didn't have a familiar like they did. Until one day he was chosen by a young dragon with gold scales. Zeke named him farcro and they became best friends ever since. Zeke and Farcro would practice flying all the time. Zeke would always be trying new moves in the air. He became one of the best flyers his age. He eventually joined the academy because he wanted to make a career doing what he loved and dreamed of exploring the world.

Personality; Generally friendly outside of his lessons. Although during his lessons he leans more towards his teacher side. He can be friendly during lessons, or the worst nightmare you could ask for if you don't study your lessons or fail training.

Beast; Aegis. Uses ice attacks and carries around the lantern on his wing symbolizing himself as a beacon of light helping those that lose their way.

History; Drakus has been a teacher at the academy for nearly 3 years helping future knights become powerful warriors and strength their bonds with their creatures. He considers himself one of the more known trainers as people tend to come to him for sparring or sometimes guidance. He has gain an amount of mastery over ice magic, but doesn't let it weaken his sword skills. He is often seen with a long sword in one hand and a light blue book in the other. He trains on using both his blade and book to create unique situations for trainees. Other than training he can be seen on his home island often reading his tomes or evening sparring with his dragon Aegis. He often has trainees visit him after hours which doesn't bother him at all. He aims to make knights that can even surpass him. While it hasn't happened yet, he hopes that one day one of his students will become the strongest knight in the lands.

Name: Eli Foren

Gender: Male

Appearance: He has short smokey gray spikey hair with silver eyes, and he wears a gray and black harness outfit(sort of similar to Hiccup's outfit in HTTYD2).

Personality: Eli is a loyal knight dedicated to keeping the skies and the islands safe. He far exceeds his younger brother, Noel, who is currently undergoing training at the Academy. Though he likes to tease and show off to his younger brother, he always gives him his support and watches over him, even if he doesn't know it. Eli is a kind soul and remains calm in tough situations, keeping a leveled head and reacts fast, his mind always thinking up of plans and strategies. (More of his personality will be revealed through rping.)

Beast: Drolf; A mix of a wolf and a dragon. The creature is male and has the head and body of a silver furred wolf, though the muzzle is that of a silver scaled dragon, along with the front legs and tail. The chest and lower belly is covered in black plated armor of a dragon, and wings grow out from his back with black leather membranes. Black horns grow from the head, along with a row of black spikes running down his back to the end of his tail, and has golden draconic eyes. His size is the same as the werewolves in the Twilight series(the only thing I like about that series). He also has black markings all along his body.

History: Will unfold through the story

Other: His left arm is horribly scarred from an accident that happened long ago. He keeps it hidden at all times under the sleeve of his outfit and always wears his flight glove over it.

Xavier is a tall, fair-skinned young man that stands at a height of six feet, three inches. Xae is no brute, but he is toned and well-muscled. However, his defined and sculpted facial structure and narrow eyes give him a mysterious and almost rebellious look. Xavier has a vibrant blue gaze that seemingly always glares into those who meet it, and in them is a wisdom beyond his age. It's rare, but when the eighteen year old smiles, it's a wide and bright one which can turn anyone's sour mood around. Adorned with dirty blonde hair which looks more so of a light brown, it's usually slicked back or disheveled in a careless manner, which ties together his quite attractive appearance. However, the first thing one would notice about the trainee is that a permanent, vertical scar slashes his right eye. Not many people know how this scar came to be, and most of them never will.

PERSONALITY
Xavier is a quiet and mysterious young man, usually keeping to himself yet watching from a distance. There is a feel to him that can't be so easily described. As if he's intimidating yet respected; his patience however is the calm before the storm. It often takes the smallest things to anger Xavier as his temperament is worn thin due to everything he's been through over the years. Do not let his guarded disposition and serious demeanor fool you; he can be a sweetheart at times, generally caring, and humorous when the time is right. Xae is a selfless, brave and courageous person, but love is something he's never known. Other than this, he's very intelligent and can be known to be ferocious in battle. Passionate about everything he says and does, he's very thoughtful and nonetheless warm to those he cares about. You will never meet someone more protective.

Xavier's beast is a massive western dragon in which is a dusky golden in hue and is adorned with a murky green gaze. Powerful and stubborn, the large, winged, cold-blooded creature is named Adonis. The animal received his name due to it's meaning of lord, which is well earned due to his regal and dignified attitude. He and his rider are inseparable and go well together; there is no other flying beast for Xavier. Adonis stands at eight feet in height, and weighs over eight-hundred pounds. Quite intimidating, the dragon has a fiery temper, and his rider would suggest you not ruffle his scales, so to speak.

HISTORY
Xavier Dwyer's history is somewhat unknown by most. The older teen does not speak much of his past and tends to shove the question away when it is asked. All that is know is that he was an orphan and never exactly had parents in his life. It is perhaps his drive and determination as to why he is such a skilled and talented fighter as well as survivor. His early life consisted of him living on his own and stealing his clothes and food. Wasn't exactly an honorable lifestyle, but he managed to live. Actually, Xae met his beast, Adonis, when he was fourteen. The dragon was wild, and had been attacked. Then, Adonis was young as well as not quite as huge as he now is. Xavier was able to return the creature's strength and health to him, and, after being self-taught in the art of basic flight, he knew joining the academy was he and his beast's only hope. They've been here ever since; minor details about Xavier are unknown.

This is Xavier's last year as a trainee; he's gone through all his other years and has done well. The eighteen year old has almost mastered the art of the sword.
