As Kite charged forwards, he made sure to block the incoming purple blast with his shield, and he dove to the left to avoid the incoming blast from above. He had been slowed by this, allowing Mila to escape him momentarily, but he wasn't about to let her get away like that. He knew that she had taken some damage from him earlier, and wasn't about to give up when the odds were still in his favor, even though he had lost sight of her in the trees. He quickly got to his feet, and ran to the trees, though he slowed to a cautious walk as he reached the tree line.
Kite was a well trained soldier, and he knew the dangers of following an opponent into an area like this. There were likely traps setup all over the place. He had to be careful, and keep his guard up, be ready for an attack from any direction. He made his way further into the wooded area, scanning the treetops and underbrush for signs of movement. It was hard to tell what was what due to the trees swaying slightly from all the chaos in the surrounding area. But then, he saw something, and walked towards it slowly to get a closer look. Once he was only a few feet away from the tree, he knew it. He had spotted her in the tree, but unfortunately, since he was to busy looking up at her, he didn't notice the trap right below him, and snagged the tripwire with his left foot.
The trap exploded, sending him flying backwards and knocking him into the trunk of a tree not far behind, which ended up getting smashed, causing the tree to fall. He was still in tact though, but not without taking a fair amount of damage. If it hadn't been for his heavy armor plating, he would have been blown apart for sure. He got to his feet with a bit of difficulty, his body having been beaten and shaken by the blast and the resulting impact against the tree. Once on his feet, he shook his head a bit to help regain his composure, then looked up to Mila.
"To Hell with this..." he muttered under his breath.
He sheathed his sword and aimed his hand towards Mila. It glowed for a moment, before a ball of light shot out from it towards her. It was a Holy Nova ability, and would explode with holy light energy upon impact. Just after sending that attack, he would aim at the trunk of the tree that Mila was in, and shoot it as well to knock the whole thing down.
As Aminta got closer to Damien, it would become more and more noticeable that, as she got closer, the air seemed to get colder and colder. By the time she stopped in front of him, it would feel as though she was starting to freeze, with the temperature being a bit below 0 degrees celsius. And yet, it seemed to be getting colder still, even though she wasn't moving any closer to him.
The blood on his blade began to get absorbed into the blade itself, almost like a sponge, until after a few seconds, the blade was clean. All the while, he didn't seem to react in any way to her comments or to her movements. He simply continued to stare at her silently. But that quickly changed. With speed that seemed impossible for someone of his size, and with such heavy armor and gear, he swung his sword at her, swinging it diagonally from her lower left side up to her right shoulder, and with enough force to cleave through her body like air. His power would be clearly evident.
