The War of Zethrex

As the woman attacked with the strange magic, her pursuer. "You can't be so clueless all the time" the woman mocked "causing flesh wounds only makes me stronger" as the woman slit her wrists memory almost felt her food arise from the bottom of her stomach. That was sick on every level. 'Okay...it's my turn' Memory thought to herself and ran out to of the bushes, creeping silently behind the man with the large shield while he was distracted by the woman. He seemed to be charging something in his hand, chance! Memory knew she would have to put all her strength into the blow, she ran, and with her natural instincts jumped high into the air. Aiming toward the shielded man, Memory attempted to slash a blow that could potentially even with a blunt blade; ease it's way nicely into the man's skull.

Mila gave one last blast before she was shot with white light. Gasping she fell to the ground shaking and breathing heavily. Mila forced herself to look up with a smug look and said "You're learning pretty boy"
She saw a girl behind him with a sword raised to kill. Since when did anyone use child soldiers? Mila watched as the girl jumped to attack as she silently cheered her on. She couldn't believe her luck and wished for the sword to meet its mark. All she needs is one well placed blow and it would either seriously hurt, or incapacitate her opponent. Mila could already feel the electrocution disappearing from her body as the tremors calmed down to a managable shake. Using her staff the get up she looked shocked as she saw the young girls face. It was the girl she helped months before she wandered the world. Mila dropped her off at some couples home and told them to take care of her. She never knew what became of the girl.

Harbel was said to be nice this time of year, this small deserted island, with skeletons within every step. Least it was sunny. Like every other day of the year. I was sitting in his shelter he had built in side a wonderful cave, that lead out to the Harbel jag cliff. A very dangers place now that I mention it, spikes on ever cliff face, random swords and shields on the beaches. Food ha! I'm lucky to get a edible substance. Even using Myst (The book of Mysteries)

"Better get back to scavenging." I said to myself, standing and up and banging my head of the ceiling again. I took a deep breath, and rubbed my head. "Looks like the stick broke...again."

I look at the Myst and ponder weather or not to use it. I decide to carry it with me just in case. I load my wrist rivet gun and head out, I'm going to need food and I'm going to need it soon if I want to stay alive any longer then I have already.

"You know what screw that I'm using the book, I hope Im as lucky as the last time I used it!" As I say that is spread the book open the farthest that it will without ruining the seams. Screaming on the top of my lungs "Jo'la Roh!" Suddenly I'm standing on a large boat with lots of guys in robes. "....Hmm...hello good champs!" I do a 360 to get a good view of where I am. Im still in the same sea, and oh...wait. Is that Harbel over the in the distance? Oh, I teleported. I turn around to face the robed people. "I need to talk to a superior."

Kite had been caught completely off guard by the little girl. Her sword slammed directly into his head, which sent him staggering to the side. His helmet was cut and knocked off his head, but luckily for him, it had saved his life yet again, only this was the last time it could do so. He managed to regain his footing before he could be knocked over, standing several feet away from the 2 girls. He looked to the little one and was shocked to see how young she was. He couldn't believe that a child was sent to fight here, but it didn't matter. Even though it was against his morals to harm a child, she was clearly his enemy now and a direct threat to him, and every other Alliance soldier there.

Mila was already starting to get back up at this point. The odds were against him now. He knew that his great shield wouldn't protect him forever, he needed to keep up his offensive and try to give them as little opportunity to attack him as he could. He retracted his shield into his armor, so that it only covered his left forearm, and drew his sword into his right hand. As he left hand started to glow with light again, he ran it over the top of his blade, imbuing it with holy energy. He continued to charge the energy in his left hand, and took a fighting stance against the 2 girls.

"Well then.. You want me? Come and get me."

Sethex was standing on the top deck of the ship that Gareth had attacked. He watched as Gareth absorbed and redirected the magical blast back at the ship, and smirked as it slowly began to sink.

"Finally, someone who might actually be worth my damn time."

He drew his longsword into his right hand and left his left hand free. He focused some of his power and used it to propel himself up towards Gareth like a rocket launching from a cannon. Once he got close enough, he swung his sword in a horizontal slice at Gareth's midsection, without slowing his momentum. He deliberately refrained from using magic just yet, after witnessing what Gareth could do.

The group of Magi soldiers on the ship that Gavin had appeared on all faced him and aimed their staffs, swords, and hands at him, ready to obliterate him into nothing as soon as the order was given. He asked to see a superior, and one of the commanding officers on deck stepped forward.

"Who are you and what the hell are you doing on this ship?"

With a quick landing, Memory turned around and started charging her power. There was no reason to hold back. This was a bloodbath. A dark shroud of energy encased Memory's entire body and her eyes turned into a deep black. Feeling her power rising throughout her, this was it. A part of her true-self, the demon unleashed. Strangely her power today didn't decide to take her over, she could still understand what she was doing. Memory could feel the demon inside her working along with her, it wasn't trying to take over. Something was strange...even when she had first released her power back when she used it she had never felt this powerful. As she ran at the man she had noticed that she was significantly faster than she was before and the energy around her boiled, wanting to desperately be released. Blood...she wanted it and so did the demon. As she approached the man she had a wicked smile upon her small face. As the man was charging the light he spoke, which memory completely ignored and attempted to slash the man in two with a demonic blow. The fury of darkness empowering her sword, her senses, her body, her lust for blood driving her into a deadly frenzy.

(OOC: Coin Side Tails; Darkness, Coin side; Heads - Does not loose control, Dice roll 1-6: 6 maximum power output.)

I lifted his hands, in defence. Although he has no magical power he still forced himself to at least put up a fight. Then he realizes how many Magi there actually is on the ship, tons! A company worth at least! With this I put my hands down and backed up a little. I hid Myst in his robe.

"I have no idea! I just teleported here from Harbel island! I have no idea what's even happening!" I walked forward point at the small island of in the distance. "That island in fact. Don't ask why I was there, long story."

I cocked my Rivet gun in case someone decides to attack me. I wonder why there is some many Magi, I must find answers and quick,

Gareth was beginning to space out for a moment, until he saw a shape flying towards him at rapid speeds. Barely managing to regain his focus, Gareth used the one second he had before the man would arrive at his front and probably attach him with the sword he had in hand. Realizing that he had no time to channel any magic to repulse this man's actions, Gareth shook both of his sleeves and revealed the two hooked daggers that he attached to his sleeve.

In a single swing, Gareth simultaneously swung the daggers into each hand while he used it to catch the enemy's slash within both hooks, and used both the locked blade as a lever and his opponent's momentum against him by shifting the air platform underneath him towards the side and swinging his arms sideways.

Summary: Gareth caught Sethex's blade with his hooked daggers and then he moved to one side, guiding Sethex past him.

Mila stayed at the back her core pulsing with power. It was still there and the little demon child created a nice generator for it. She watched as the child ran towards the guarded enemy and saw danger. Quickly she ran towards the two and whipped her staff around creating a strong shield around the child to protect her from any backlash she might get from using the power or the man she was fighting. After her little bout of maternal instincts she quickly turned on her heel and threw her staff at the head of the man. The wood caught on "fire" with a large dark flame propelling it faster and faster. It was about to make its mark when she suddenly pulled it back before it could hit hopefully distracting him enough from the child so the girl could lower her bloodlust. She knew she was going to retrieve the girl for the circle after. She just hoped to god that they wouldn't kill her for being an abomination.

"The airships tossed their powers at eachother and the blood spilled forth like a raging torrent of hells not yet passed." A voice narrated, thoguh nobody but the speaker heard. Erays looked throguh his sniper scope at everything from a Magi ships hull, he had blown a hole in the roof and started sniping off targets. He scratched his twelf notch onto his scope and chuckled to himself. he was ont he airship with gareth and Sethex, watching everythign from his safe, cowardly position... for now anyways.

By now someone woudl have noticed the arcane blasts tipping off one head after the other, but he didn't care. Erays was a defective mage to his peers, and his superiors didn't want him... or perhaps they were keeping him back for a reason... either way, he refused to obey their rules any longer. he popped off friend and foe alike as it struck him.

(COllateral damage headcount based on a D20 roll, no bonuses.)

Sieg, Marco, and Jag barreled up the stairwell to the surface deck. As soon as they rounded the corner they ran right into an Alliance soldier.
She raised her hands.
"Take cover!"
Sieg and Jag dove back behind the corner, Marco was too slow. His cried of pain abrubtly ended in a frothy gurgle. Razor ice shards pelted the corridor, a larger one embedded in Marco's chest, puncturing his lung. He collapsed.
"Dammit. They've got a mage," Sieg cursed to himself as he held his position, back against the wall, waiting on the ice torrent to end. He nodded at Jag, who held a similar position on the opposite of the corridor opening. Jag pulled a small charge and slid it around the corner across the newly iced floor toward their attacker. Sieg waited till the ice torrent ended and leaned around the corner, opening fire on any movement before him, hopefully providing cover long enough for Jag as he pulled back Marco's body.

(Summary: Marco's down, Sieg is presently firing down the hallway while Jag tries to get Marco with hopes of first aid (whom, if successfully retrieved, will be found dead). A small explosive is in the hallway (little weaker than grenade caliber). And Kaz became a cool kid by including summaries at the ends of his posts from now on.)

"We've got company!" Johns yelled over gunfire, looking behind his soldiers. Two figures came running into the field of play. Two allies that were to help.
"Well about fucking time." KeRahn snarled, holding a gun to a Magi's head before pulling the trigger. The Thaash's leg was now trickling blood and dripping onto the ground. He was a little more roughed up than he would've liked, but that always came with fighting. He quickly swung his axe to slash an Alliance fighter in the chest who was coming up from behind him.
"It's Biggs and Wedge!" Johns yelled again, pointing.
"Hey." Wedge casually greeted, shooting a target over Johns shoulder.
"Siegfried ordered us down here." Biggs explained before biting the top off a grenade and launching it away. An explosion followed shortly afterwards with bodies flying in the air and landing on the ground again.
"Hmph." KeRahn simply replied, stepping aside so a body could fly past him without hitting him.
"Ouch, you're bleeding. I might have some bandages with me." Biggs pointed at KeRahn's injured leg.
"It's nothing. Just fight." KeRahn shot at a few men behind them, injured by the blast.
And with that, they simply continued fighting. A strange thing that they all knew how to do without any instruction or determination. It simply welled up from within and was let out through their bullets or weapons.

[DASH=blue]As the battle waged on, the Magi were finishing their final preparations for a test run with a newly developed coastal defense system. Countless engineers were working feverishly to make sure that all systems were in working order and ready for use. The defense consisted of hundreds of gigantic magical cannons that lined the coast all the way around the island of Qortic. Though it was built as a defensive measure for the Magi, it had been speculated that the cannons were powerful enough to fire all the way out to Ki'ar, where the current battle was taking place.

The Magi were slowly losing the fight. They had already lost nearly half of their fleet, and had only managed to take down a handful of the Alliance airships. If they didn't do something fast, they would surely lose, and losing the first major battle of the war was something that Taiberius refused to allow. The Archmage himself was overseeing the final preparations for the cannons, and was itching to give the order to fire, ready to show the Alliance the sheer might of the Magi.

Finally it was done. All engineers were reporting a green light for completion. And so, the cannons that were facing the direction of Ki'ar started to move and take aim. It was going to be a maximum range volley, and they intended to turn the tables on the Alliance. Once the cannons were aimed, they began to charge up. Taiberius was anxiously watching the readings from within a control room as the cannons powered up. After what felt like forever for the Archmage, the cannons were showing full charge, and with that, he shouted an order to his subordinates.

"FIRE!"

A rapid series of 30 booms erupted from the shoreline as the cannons each fired, sending 30 giant blasts of explosive energy rocketing into the sky and off into the distance. It would take only minutes for the blasts to reach their targets: the Alliance Skyfleet. The blasts of energy cut through the clouds and rapidly approached over the horizon at Ki'ar. By the time the Alliance realized what was about to happen, it would be to late. The energy rained down from above the Skyfleet, blowing apart ship after ship. Many of the airships that were hit began to fall almost immediately, some crashing into other nearby airships as they fell from the sky. The only airships that didn't fall after being hit were the larger battleships, but even they sustained heavy damage. Hundreds of lives were lost in mere seconds.
[/DASH]

As the cannon fire from the Magi's coastal defenses bombarded the Skyfleet. Things had suddenly taken a dark turn for the Alliance. Up until this moment they had been winning this fight, but now... now it seemed like that hope was lost in an instant. As ship after ship began to fall from the sky, and screams of pain and terror echoed throughout the sky as countless soldiers fell to their deaths, the call had to be made. The admiral of the Skyfleet, aboard the flagship Freedom's Dream, moved to the communications terminal on the bridge of the ship in a shocked stupor. And with a voice that echoed his facial expression, one of utter disbelief and shock, he sent out an order to all Alliance soldiers in the area.

"All ships, prepare to retreat. All forces on the ground are to get back on board the nearest able airship immediately. Whatever the hell just hit us will probly be making another round soon, and we don't want to be here when it does.... I'm sorry everyone, but we just weren't prepared for this afterall."

And with that, the Skyfleet began to turn around, while still raining down as much firepower on the Magi ships below in order to hold them off as best they could.

A loud voice began to yell in a panicked voice into the earpieces of the Purger forces.

"Something just happend. I think the Magi just royally fucked up the Skyfleet. This shit is getting serious! If we don't hurry the hell up and get out of here, there may not be any fucking airships left to hijack! GET A MOVE ON PEOPLE!

One couldn't be sure exactly who the voice belonged to, but clearly it was one of the Purger soldiers that was in the battle.

[DASH=blue]After the cannons fired, they needed to cool and then recharge before they could fire again. It would take time, but not much. The first volley had taken down a large chunk of the Alliance Skyfleet. The Alliance couldn't afford another volley like that one.[/DASH]

(Specifics of the cannon blast hits in relation to players: All players who are currently not on an Alliance airship will not be affected by any blasts, though it will definately be a sight to see. The ship that Erays is currently on suffered a direct hit, and will begin falling from the sky. The fall will start slow as the engins try to keep it up, but they will ultimately fail after about 30 seconds, which should give Erays just enough time to escape the ship and make it to another. The ship that Aminta is on was not hit by the cannons, but due to it's low altitude, it is in danger of being hit by airships above it that may be falling. Whether or not it gets hit, i will leave up to Aminta to decide. The ship that Frostbite, KeRahn, and Seigfreid are on was not hit by a blast, however a nearby airship was hit and as it fell from the sky, part of it's hull ripped into the side of the ship and stripped away the majority of the wall that separated the stairwell that Seig and i think frostbite are in, from the outside, meaning that the straiwell is now exposed to the outside of the ship making for a dangerous fall hazard. Or it could make a quick escape, depending on what is needed by whoever. The ship is still entirely operational though.)

I knew the Magi that was about to answer me when a volley of explosions from some huge cannons from the island everyone seems to be sailing you knocking down dozens of airships. This surprised me at how colour full the explosions were, with mixes or blue red and superviolet. I was the only person that i have ever known in my whole life that can see a whole bunch of colour where you normally don't see colour. It might be because of the book who knows. But I need to get to the bottom of what is going on.

"Sir Magi, please ignore the explosions and tell me!" I walked up to the Magi staring into the explosions with a grin on his face. "NOW!"

Kite kept his eyes on his opponents, watching as the little girl came at him with such force and animosity, highly unusual for a girl her age. Then, as the staff was sent at him, he raised his left arm up to block it, but it was pulled back before it contacted. It was a distraction, but fortunately, not enough to keep break his concentration. As the little girl swung her sword at him, he swung his sword to parry it. As the blades connected, the opposing light and dark energies within them caused a small explosion, which caused him to fly backwards, and would likely do the same to the little girl.

Kite flipped through the air, but managed to land on his feet, skidding backwards to a stop and facing the direction of the 2 girls. He was a good 30 yards away now, and took this time to keep charging the holy energy in his left hand, which continued to get more and more powerful. He took a stance against them again, ready to defend himself once more, wanted to have as much time to charge up as he could get. He saw the wave of cannon fire fly overhead and crash into the Skyfleet, and shortly after heard the order to return to the fleet. He felt sad at first at the sight of all those ships falling and the sounds of his fellow soldiers dying, but that emotion was quickly overridden by rage. He glared at his opponents, for they were the embodyment of the evil that had just caused all of those soldiers deaths. They were his bane now, and he refused to leave the fight just yet. He had to at least try. He owed it to his comrades to give it that much.

Sethex flew past Gareth, having been deflected. With a burst of outward force he came to a stop in the air about 10 yards from Gareth, and quickly turned to face him with a big smirk on his face. He floated there, using his magic to create a continuous flow of power in whatever direction he needed, working almost like a jet engine to keep him flying.

"Not bad for an Alliance dog. I didn't think anyone worth my time even existed in the Alliance. Maybe you can prove that notion wrong, huh? Lets just see what you can do."

And with that, he swung his left hand up and aimed it at Gareth, and started blasting him with a beam of dark energy. Sethex expected Gareth to absorb it and send it back at him, but he wanted to see what the limits were, if any. The beam was continuous, and he would keep pumping it into Gareth until he either moved out of the path of the beam, or sent it back at him.

The area around Damien quickly turned back to normal temperature as all of the cold energy was absorbed into Damien's body. After that was done, he shifted his gaze from Aminta, up to the Freedom's Dream, the Flagship of the Alliance Skyfleet. He then jammed the end of his sword into the ground next to him, and aimed his hands up at the ship. A moment later, a ball of charging freezing energy began to form between his hands, and after a few seconds, a huge beam of cold energy shot from his hands and up to the flagship. It began to freeze the ship. Ice was forming around the spot where the beam hit, and was spreading rapidly all over it. It was a large battleship however, and would take a bit of time to freeze over.

O_O... YOU PIECE OF DOGDRIVEl I SAID DOn"T TEST THOSE GUNS WITHOUT THE- CRAAAAAAAAAAAP!" Erays yelled, pullgin down his scarf and strapping his Sniper rifle to his back, running down from hsi spot ont eh ship as it began to fail.

" crap crap crap crap." he huffed, running faster than he ever had in his life. He dodged exploding shrapnel and such as he ran down the way, picking up speed his legs almost couldn't handle. his body ached and his mouth was dry. the guns on his hips rattled as her ran, the walkign arsenal was useless right now, and he made a desperate leap into teh air, landing on a piece of broken hull, he smashed hsi fist into it and up came a large metallic bird, twisted and not really that pretty. it flapped its wings visciously and managed to soar in the direction he wanted it.. that is, before the damn thing lurched tot eh left, broke apart and he fell onto the hull and through the broken panel into a wrecked hallway of a remaining alliance ship.

(Erays escaped the Broken ship, only to fail truly escaping and landing, unconscious on a remaining, mostly intact Alliance ship to be found by random guards later, and either mistaken for a soldier, or drug to imprisonment.)

The Magi officer looked to Gavin and his expression changed to one of distaste.

"Who do you think you are? We're in the middle of a war here. Now who's side are you on? And you better pick your answer very carefully..."

Even as the world turned to shit around the two Magi, the fleet of the Alliance having their behind torn a new one by the barrage of the magical cannons the two mages still continued in their duel. For Gareth, it showed the state of his relationship with the Alliance - I'm only here because I want to fight back against the Magi, my old faction. Swiftly, Gareth spun around and also re-adjusted his barrier so that he was now facing his opponent. When the dark blast of energy was thrown at him, Gareth too began to draw upon the energy within the air - the magical blasts of the cannons were essentially his power supply. However, to ensure that he knew what he was going up against, Gareth absorbed a minimal amount of the dark energy before he stopped absorbing it and converted yhe energy he absorbed from the cannons and threw it back at the beam, making sure that the energy he threw back was equal to that of what his opponent was using. He needed to maintain the beam for what he wanted to do.Snarling, Gareth uttered an incantation under his breath, this time drawing upon his own store of Mana to conjure an energy snake. It was not a sentient being, but merely travelled in the direction in which it was sent and cannot exist unless it feeds on energy thus it travelled towards the stronger source of energy, which it would feed on. The blue string of energy travelled around the beam of energy Gareth had used to counter his opponent's beam, disguised as a stray spark. Gareth knew that the other Magi would sense the snake soon, and therefore unless he stopped his own beam the energy snake would travel through it and eventually eat his mana too. To make himself, his trick more convincing Gareth pretended to falter and stagger, as if his levels of mana were decreasing too fast. His beam no longer held its own and was slowly being pushed back and came ever so closer towards him. Of course, this would make the energy snake move even faster as his opponent's beam was now the stronger beam and had more energy.

I looked right into the eye of the Magi officer.

"I am the son of the Highest member of the Black circle transcript Magi, Gavin Logos. I am on the Magi side, but the last I remember there was no war happening." I told the officer basically right off, basically saying he should be happy he is even seeing me. The Black Circle Magi never showed their faces in wars, or battles, they kept to their books and scrolls. Their sons and daughters near by to learn their writings. At least I figured out why this battle was happening the Magi must have pissed someone off to start this bloody disaster. But still I need more info I need to speak with a experienced Magi Elder. "Please, Magi, point me to where the nearest elder is (OOC: Any player on the Magi side) I must learn what is happening and get into contact with my father."

The Black Circle is one of the most respected Transcript guild out there. Allow there members to access archives of thousands of year old spell book and scrolls to write into larger spell books for beginners to arch magi. (I will continue this more not really relivant to my post only explaining that the Black Circle is well respected and can access anything and speak to anyone.)

Once Frostbite saw the eyes of the man die before her, her heart stopped. The blood and the agony on his face ripped through her... She wanted the fighting to stop then, but a bloodthirsty thought occurred to her. A life had been taken and she was responsible for it. A rush overwhelmed her body, but before she could act upon it, something distracted her.

A massive explosion caught her attention and she looked to the side to see one of their Alliance airships get hit by a blast. She nearly screamed as she saw the ball of flame engulf the framework of the vessel. As it careened into the Haelin, the entire ship tilted to one side and Frostbite lost her balance. Too shocked to even stop herself from falling, Frostbite's hip cracked against the railing of the ship as her body plummeted down towards the ocean...
