This is a sci-fi/fantasy RP. The Players are young Mages who have been brought to the Academy in order to develop their magical talent and protect their city. They will fight monsters that roam in the wilderness, investigate nefarious plots against King and Country, and so on. But that is all in their future. For now, after a bit of general plot setup, let us have the characters meet up, get to know one another, etc. We can feed them to monsters later.

The plot so far:
The students meet their teacher, Professor Yuki Okamoto, and have their first few days of instruction.

About a week into their Academy life, they are unexpectedly sent out on a mission to investigate the town of Normaden. They learn that a Witch, a powerful monster that sometimes grows from humans with magical potential, has developed in the region. Their Professor takes on the role of exterminating the Witch itself, leaving the students to handle some of its Familiars. During the students' fight, though, they are unexpectedly brought face to face with an Angel. After a fierce fight, the students are victorious and return to their homes safely.

Back in Uruk, the plots grow thicker. A massive force of Angels has gathered near Babylon, and the head honchos discuss plans of how to deal with the threat. The Academy's Headmaster learns that the Angel that the students encountered was sent by the Chief of the Galileians. What could Chief Herschel be plotting, and why involve these young Mages?

Completely unaware of these plots, the students are assigned another mission: to resolve an incident over who should possess a valuable research subject. They will be escorted and monitored by Essence Parker, one of the academy's Student Council members...

Out of the preparation, Hibby smearing blood on people was still a bit uncomfortable. As for what she said; "You shouldn't take the front-lines, but being able to back-up Ryan to avoid him from getting attacked from his sides or from behind should help a lot."

Another odd thing was whatever Elisa was doing. What was that about Elisa's hart being made out of glass, what sort of gift? Why was the kid suddenly speaking like she was old as fuck? Combine that with some weird vision, memory, feeling, thingy, and Almeida couldn't help herself from mumbling a "What the fuck was that..."

They were successful in luring the familiars over, which was great. Sadly enough, the creatures split up. Almeida shortly took notice. The ones that had already taken damage from Ozy's soldiers should be easiest to deal with, and thus her back-up was likely to be needed the most by the flanking-team attacking the other group (Alpha, Beta, Gamma).

Reaction Phase:
Taking quick note of whichever of the familiars was already under attack by the flanking team, Almeida would go after a second one. Somehow, she felt like Valerius was even lighter, which seemed to be the effect of whatever Elisa had done (Revelation +2 strength 1/3). Due to Valerius' size, she'd only get in one hit per phase, but she'd make sure to squash this familiar into a pile of muddy goo with it, swinging the Valerius down from above to crush it completely. (Mark of Hibiscus) [Attack 1x 5 stamina]

Action Phase:
If the familiar was still crawling around after that, she'd pull back Valerius in order to hit it again, but this time with the pick-axe side (trying to slice through it if she hadn't squashed it into the mud yet, or trying to puncture through whatever was left of it if she had. (Revelation +2 strength 2/3). (Mark of Hibiscus) [Attack 1x 5 stamina]

"I won't let you know," Suilen said flatly, already taking steps away from the slimes and into better cover. "Punch the ones that glow, Londo."

Hopefully that'll be enough to end her interaction with the bombastic redhead; while she appreciated his energy, she also felt as if he talked too much. At least he wasn't the one who went around smearing blood on other people, or the one that decided not to transform at all. Lavi had pretty eyes and weird hair, but if she wasn't going to transform at all? Suilen tilted her head to the side, before calling out, "Lavi, go away. If you can't Transform, you'll just die."

Did that get across to the pink-haired waif? Hopefully, but if she got this far already while aware of her non-Transforming nature, if the teacher herself brought her along aware of Lavi's non-Transforming nature, maybe there was something else.

Or maybe the school was evil and Lavi was suicidal.

Suilen decided not to get too attached, and simply waited for Ozymandias to do his thing.

Thankfully, he did it soon.

Reactive Phase
A crack of spectral gunfire, and the slimes were off, the one in the middle shredded but not vanquished by machine gun fire, while the others were merely superficially damaged. Surging forth like snot-slugs, half of them charged the phantom soldiers while the other half stayed behind, tearing chunks out of their own viscous form to lob slime at the riflemen. Gross. It was like flicking boogers, and Suilen didn't want anything to do with that at all. Good thing Almeida was doing that instead, pickaxe swinging with optimal force towards the gross blobs.

Moving off to the side, away from either flanking group, Suilen pressed herself against a tree, her spear clutched to her chest as she kept an eye on the area around them. If the fight didn't finish quickly, there was certainly a chance of more Familiars popping out of the woodwork, and if they were going to get reverse-ambushed by another squad of booger-slimes, she definitely wanted to not be there at all.

Meant disobeying orders, of course, but then again, Almeida wasn't her mom.

"Ok," Suilen whispered, her lips mere millimetres from her Spirit Core, "Drop them in."

Active Phase

And then there were bees.

Buzzing, flying, bouncing, ghostly forms spiralling down from the canopy in a maddening frenzy. As the slimes all settled into their positions, tearing at phantom soldiers or preparing to receive Almedia's one woman onslaught, countless dozens of bees burst into their visions. It was a veritable swarm, chaotic and ceaseless, that streamed around the slimes' bodies. They poked, they prodded, they disrupted, following Suilen's orders to distract the Familiars as much as possible, though without targeting any Familiar that already has a Bee Swarm on them. Bees landed on their red eyes. Bees landed on their orifices. Bees scraped against the back of their claws, and bees buzzed obnoxiously in their faces. Never committing to an attack, and never diving in too deep, but always been incredibly, incredibly annoying.

And as the bees dropped down to cause chaos and distractions all around, the Preying Bird, upon its perch, stared down upon the multitude of monstrosities down below, picking its target. One was already almost destroyed, but the rest were fresh as can be. As a red-headed humanoid rushed into the fray, fists blazing, the bird's eyes narrowed. Prana and Stamina burned as one, before a stream of light shone through its eyes. Upon piercing the slime, structural weaknesses began to glow, points in the Familiar's body where Londo could strike for maximized damage.

And while all this happened, Suilen remained right where she was, iridescent eyes alert for oncoming trouble in new directions, or sudden dangers from their current targets.

Bees use LVL 2 Perception Debuffs on Slimes Zeta, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Epsilon.
Bird uses LVL 2 Vitality Debuff on Londo's Slime.
Suilen is on Standby for both Phases.

Placing himself a couple of meters past the riflemen, Ryan kept his gaze fixated on the slimes, ready to emerge from cover upon hearing the awaited signal: The first round of shots...

Reaction Phase
Upon hearing gunfire, Ryan braced himself. It was time. "Let's go" he said to Lavi and Hibiscus. He darted towards the slime half that was attacking the nearest riflemen, using goo as a ranged weapon. Ryan kept his projection to his left, giving more cover to his partners. Upon getting in range, he had already prepared some energy for his attack, which came in the form of two stomping kicks with his left foot and finished with a low side kick. While the projection mirrored the stomping kicks with his right foot, but while Ryan performed the side kick, the projection jumped over the slime while kicking to the front and finished with a stomp with his other foot, using the rest of the energy of the jump in it and landing behind the slime with the first foot that it used to kick.

Action Phase
Knowing that he wasn't done yet, but having this first target surrounded, Ryan and his projection proceeded to bombard the slime with kicks once again. Both starting with a low side kick coming from opposite sides and then backwards for a low heel kick. To finish, both kicked upwards and the projection brought his heel down upon the slime once again. Ryan just returned to a neutral position and looked around to see what to do next

Reaction Phase:

As the crackling of gunfire echoed through the forest she shook as she shut her ears for a second. The slight pain from the sound of them bouncing throughout I.. I don't want to be a burden, but I just want to mom and dad. I just want to see my older brothers. I just, I just want to go home... Why, why do I have to be here. Why couldn't someone have had magic instead of me.

Gasping as though exhausted she looked at Hibby, her face pale and closed up as her mouth was snapped shut. She knew not what she could say, nor what she should say. The same for Suilen whom although she knew her only so recently, had told her to back off as well she didn't want to die. But.. but if she was to just stay there, would she really go back home? If she really wanted to go home, shouldn't she prove she couldn't be an asset. Prove that she would only be a problem, yet she couldn't move forward either. Her feet shaking and nervousness overtaking her as she watched Hibi begin to move forward, sticking close to Ryan.

Action Phase:
Standing there, she felt a pain in her chest as she looked over at Almeida whom charged into the fray of battle ready to be hurt. She didn't like it, she didn't want to see Almeida get hurt. She was nice and caring, she and Elisa were getting hurt because of her selfishness, but what could anyone expect of her. Yet seeing Londo also made her feel even worse about herself, as the boy whom seemed not that older then her had no thoughts like her own and simply charged into battle even as funny as she thought he was, she had not thought of him as being serious.

Elisa

Reaction: The slimes passed them just like Almeida had predicted. It was time for the plan to be carried out.

Action: Elisa watched with awe as Almeida charged in at the slimes. She took a few steps backwards while appearing wary of her surroundings. Elisa almost tripped herself on a root if it was not for her leg simply phasing through as it phased through it.

Elisa was quite uncertain what was happening in the fight. She had never been in a fight in her life before so she lacked the ability to perceive it as nothing more but a series of violent acts and chaotic motions. Seeing Almeida fight made Elisa feel excited and worried at the same time, unfortunately Elisa wasn't really sure about wether Almeida was winning or losing. Elisa would also notice Ryan who was fighting with even greater speed than Almeida. Elisa crossed her hands together for a prayer that they would all do well. Unfortunately Elisa hesitated to use any of her abilities as she could feel a shadow swirling inside her mind that came from the first use of her true magic.

So instead she decided to shout out words of encouragement to the team: "You can do it! Fight-o!"

As the familiars charged the evil monsters who dared attack them on their peaceful stroll, Londo made the sneakiest sneak attack of all time. With vocal chords vibrating heartily enough to make a seasoned yodeler impressed, his declaration of war and subsequent assault was enough to draw the attention of Delta away from Delta's original target. Delta's Action Phase has therefore been canceled.

Call it courage or call it ignorance, but the remaining slimes paid no particular heed to their ambushers, instead opting to continue with their previous plans without interruption.

The soldiers may have been trained well, but even the best of warriors freeze sometimes. Regardless of the reason, the simple fact was that all would meet untimely ends as a result. The machine gunner would feel the firey pain of his flesh being torn asunder by claws that were surprisingly sharp for a creature that seemed to be made of slime. A single strike from Zeta was all it took; Epsilon didn't even need to do more than cheer Zeta on. Meanwhile, their partial tree cover didn't stop the riflemen from being coated in slime that immediately started eating away at their flesh. While their offensive abilities were fairly hefty, the soldiers were quite lacking in durability, and their forms would collapse into particles of mana mere instants after they were struck. Twas quite an odd experience for the familiars to see, not that they could process what just happened with their limited intellects anyway. But no matter.

(Zeta: Attack x1 -5 Stamina)
(Alpha - Gamma: Slime Toss skill -5 Aura -5 Stamina)

(Start of Turn: All Familiars +? Prana +? Stamina)

(OOC Note: The statistics at the top of my posts will always be as of this line right here, after Start of Turn effects and before Reaction Phase begins.)

Reaction Phase:

Delta, having diverted from its original course to meet Londo, found itself facing down his fists of justice. Or at least his right fist; his left wasn't doing a whole ton. The slime was able to Dodge to its right with a quick wriggle to avoid the first punch Londo threw its way, but it was unable to escape the second impact. The squelching sound and slimy sensation of impact wouldn't be considered pleasant by many. And considering the way that the mucous on the gauntlet was starting to eat away a bit at the gauntlet, Londo would just have to settle for being grateful that he wasn't fighting bare-knuckle.

[Innate Skill] Corrosive Slime
  • Description: The slime of these familiars' body is imbued with magic that eats away at anything else it touches.
  • Effect: All objects that touch or are touched by the slime will receive 5 damage at the start of their turn for two subsequent turns. A greater quantity of slime may result in multiple instances of this damage, while slime being reapplied to the same area will merely reset duration. Those who possess this ability do not take any damage from it.
  • Type: Passive
  • Duration: Permanent / 2 Turns
  • Affinity: Offensive

(Londo's Right Gauntlet has Corrosive Slime on it and will lose 5 Durability at the start of his next post)
Delta: -11 Aura

As Londo cocked his right fist back to charge up dramatically, Delta saw an opportunity. It felt like some sort of energy had struck it from above, but there was no pain involved, so it didn't pay it more than a moment's notice (Vitality Down from Suilen's Bird summon). Being short provided a number of advantages in a fight against someone larger, such as the ability to slide in closer underneath his guard. Like it had intended for the machine gunner, it bent its upper body back to prepare to swing claws down into Londo's body.

Considering the familiars' behavior up until now, it was a fair guess that the slime would just take the punch from Londo in order to attack him. Londo would have but a split second to decide whether he wanted to follow through with his punch as intended or whether he wanted to cancel his AP in order to react to this attack.

(Delta: Counter + Attack x1: -40 Stamina)

Alpha, Beta, and Gamma took a minute to yorokobe rejoice at their extermination of their targets, but the glory was short lived. Abruptly, Gamma's body distorted as its form was squished by Valerius's weight and the power behind Almeida's swing. As she lifted Valerius back up again, Gamma's body bounced back into its original shape. When considering that scooping out its own slime for a projectile hadn't adjusted its body size at all, it was fair to guess that they had been imbued with the ability to always retain/revert to their standard form.

Gamma: -33 Aura

While the familiars were still dumbfounded by the sudden appearance of new enemies, Almeida continued to strike, switching her grip and stance so she could cleave through Gamma with a mighty strike. The edge cut through the slime like a knife through gelatin, though its form glued itself back together almost as soon as it was cut through. And though Londo's gauntlet was having a bad time with the slime, Valerius was made of sterner stuff than that simple metal.

(Valerius has 2 stacks of Corrosive Slime on it, but its natural resiliance reduces damage from each stack to only 2 damage per turn)
Gamma: -27 Aura

Gamma was too bewildered by the sudden assault to process the situation effectively, and merely went on Standby to try and get its bearings again.

Beta didn't have particularly long to admire the spectacle of Gamma getting bullied though, as Ryan and his Projection soon decided to give Beta some beta masochist training in being stepped on. There was no time to react to the flurry of onslaughts that hammered down mercilessly and ceaselessly on the poor creature. The only respite it had was the sweet release of death that soon came.

Beta: -11, -13, -8, -11, -10, -14, -12, -10, -12 Aura

Beta's body was at its limit. The magic binding it together could hold out no longer. It gave one last screech of agony as the final blow broke through its Aura and splattered its form all over the clearing.

Familiar Beta has perished

However, though Beta had not struck back intentionally, its death still carried a high price for Ryan and his Projection. So many blunt impacts had led to slime being sent all over the place, and it wouldn't take long for them to start feeling the burn.

(Each of Ryan's greaves has 2 stacks of Corrosive Slime. Ryan himself has 1 stack, and his Projection has 6.)

And amonst all the violence, the constant buzzing of bees filled the air. They swarmed the various slimes, doing their utmost to cause distractions. The one trying to distract Beta unfortunately perished in the explosion of slime that came at its death.

Alpha was horrified at the scene. What on earth happened? These demons had just suddenly appeared and started wreaking havoc. They'd even killed poor Beta. It was unforgivable. Unforgivable! Its right arm swung down, carving through the swarm of bees surrounding it before it charged at the two foul murderers that had killed its brother.
(Swarms targeting Alpha and Beta have perished)
(Alpha: Attack x1 -5 Stamina)

Epsilon and Zeta were gloating over their victory against the pesky machine gunner, but soon decided to glance around for their next target. Over there, where Delta had gone, they saw the figure of another target, one with really long hair. Not that they really knew what hair was. They didn't yet notice Ozymandius, who had collapsed to the forest floor in Aurashock, but the girl looked like she'd make a fine second lunch. They began rushing towards her, but would not be able to strike this phase.

Action Phase:

Alpha had closed in on the demons, though there were two of them and only one of it. A situation like this called for a cautious approach. Caution meant rushing in blindly, right? After all, that's what Alpha intended. Squelching along the ground as quickly as its body could carry it, it closed the distance and when about two meters away, used little stubby legs on the bottom of its body to push up off the ground and leap towards the torso of Ryan's Projection. Should it land on there, it would try to slash at the Projection's head with its claws. (Attack x?)

Gamma had finally recovered enough of its small amount of wits to focus on the situation. Its opponent was swinging around that painful thing pretty easily. Well, Gamma was small but mighty; it wouldn't go down that easily. Gamma rushed in closer, striking first with its right claw and then its left to slash at Almeida's left and right sides respectively. (Attack x2)

Regardless of how its previous attack had gone, Delta would choose to continue attacking Londo. Closing any distance that may have been created between them, it would swing its arms out to the side and then forward to clamp down like a vice on Londo's left leg. From there, if given the chance, it'd slide its slimy body forward to squish up against him, letting its slime begin to eat away at his body. (Attack x2)

Epsilon and Zeta had closed much of the gap towards Suilen, though the bee swarms had begun to grow annoying. Finally having reached the limit of what it would tolerate, Epsilon began to slash away at the two swarms haranguing them, trying to knock them out of the sky. Meanwhile, Zeta decided to try lobbing a clawful of its own slime Suilen's way.
(Epsilon: Attack x2) (Zeta: Skill Use)

And while their comrades were busy with the familiars, Elisa and Lavi felt the earth tremble slightly, accompanied by a great cacophany of birds and wildlife being disturbed some distance behind them.

Londo successfully punched the slime once, after he had missed the first punch, but then immediately noticed the slime sticking to his gauntlets, corroding the poor metal, "Whoa, watch out, these things corrode you!" Londo said, watching the short slime go to attack him.

Not one to waste an oppotunity, Londo took the attack, simaltaneously attacking the slime with his own, and launching the slime backwards, wincing from the slime that splashed onto him, not from pain, but from seeing some of the slime fall off. It was cool and gross at the same time!

(-12 Aura, +1 Corrosion)

(Actions: -10 Prana, -30 Stamina)

(Start of Turn: +3 Aura, +5 Prana, +15 Stamina)

(Corrosion: -5 Aura

(Right Gauntlet - Corrosion: -5 Durability)

Reaction Phase:

Londo wound up his right arm, waiting for the slime to return as he would tussle with it. He knew from his constant training sessions just how strong he was, and how much hurt he could throw out with a single punch, and his fist of fury, so he knew how much damage the slime took so far, but Londo was interested to see just how much of a beating it COULD take.

So when the Delta slime jumped at Londo, Londo pushed his left leg forwards, leaning his body forwards for balance and letting the slime latch onto him and attack him while Londo balanced himself back on his right leg. He then raised both his hands together, then slamed them downwards onto the slime latched onto his leg repeatedly as fast and as much as could, "Ora ora ora ora!!!!!!" He yelled, crushing the slime between his leg and hands with the repeated attack.

Action Phase:

And if the slime was still alive, Londo would use Fist of Fury on it, aiming it towards the others of it pack, this time slamming his left leg into the ground, so if the slime backed off his leg, Londo's momentum would throw himself straight into the slime once more, and slam the slime into the ground again!

If the Slime had fallen off of Londo's leg from the first attack, Londo would fall back towards Suilen and Lavi, and Fist of Fury the slime, "Hey Goo breath, I pot somethinp for you! It's my FIST!"

A quick glance told Almeida that Ozy and his soldiers weren't doing too well. 'Let's hope it's not his trauma's acting up...' Luckily, it seemed like the kids were diving straight into things. Londo seemed to be keen on hitting stuff like there was no tomorrow, with little regard for his own well-being. 'Should I even begin trying to tell him to be more careful?' It didn't seem like it'd work. On the other hand, the bees were pretty present, as well as a bird. 'Seems like Suilen's summons are doing their job.' Ryan was doing the best though, as he already managed to stomp down a slime. "Nicely done, keep it up!" It seemed like Elisa and Lavi were helping out in their own ways, as Lavi stayed out of danger while Elisa cheered them on.

Almeida was a bit disappointed when she noticed that neither hammering the slime into the ground nor trying to slice through it really did anything. 'Persistent little bastards...' She also noticed the corrosive effects around the same time that Londo shouted it out. She also noticed, from the corner of her eyes, that two of the slimes left the swarm, and she sincerely hoped that they weren't going after a kid stupid enough to stray from the group Almeida had told them to stick with, but there was little she could do for now, as she had her own slime to deal with.

Reaction Phase:
With regards to that slime, it tried to slash at her from both sides with its claws. Almeida tried to minimize the impact by jumping back (dodge) while bringing down the hammer of justice Valerius (attack/counter) once more. She used the flat side, as it seemed a bit more effective. Admittedly, squashing the slime was a fair bit more satisfying than slicing it. With some luck, she might be able to stop it in its tracks with the hammer (parry) if she was fast enough. [Parry Counter reduced + Attack 1x 40 stamina] (Revelation +2 strength 3/3)

Action Phase:
Well, even someone with a fairly good condition like Almeida wouldn't be able to pull off stuff like that multiple times in a row. (1) If Gamma was still alive, she'd follow the last attack up with another strike. [Attack 1x 5 stamina]

(2) If she had successfully managed to bring down Gamma, she'd quickly check where the two slimes (Epsilon/Zeta) had strayed off, noticing they had wandered towards Suilen. Figuring the girl would be relatively defenceless while Londo (Delta) and Ryan (Alpha) were busy dealing with their own slimes. She'd try to make her way over there as fast as she could to smash the closest of the two slimes into the ground (if she'd make it in time to do so), hoping to take their attention away from Suilen. Ryan's kicking and stomping barrage was quite successful, as the slime couldn't keep up and disintegrated. However, the creature left him with an unpleasant gift. Some of the slime splashed onto his upper leg, and he could feel it burning through him, but what's worse, the Projection got showered all over his lower body with it, and it being one with Ryan, his pain intensified. Ryan grunted in pain, but this was no time for complaints, so all he did as he scouted his surroundings was to say to Hibiscus "Hibiscus, please heal my burns." trusting that Hibiscus actually stuck close to him, as he didn't want to be caught off guard by looking back.

Reaction Phase
Being on guard paid off, as he noticed one of the slimes swatting off a swarm of bees and then heading towards him, or rather, the Projection. The slime leaped towards it, and Ryan took the opportunity of being completely ignored to intercept it, with kicks, that is. As he charged up for yet another barrage of them. He started with a side kick, placing his leg between the Projection and the slime, while being careful of keeping the rest of his body away from it. Just to be sure, the Projection sidestepped and relocated itself opposite to Ryan, with the slime in the middle. From there, it would punch the slime in sync with Ryan for his second and third kick, which were thrusting kicks, to keep the slime in place. Its own third strike was a rising kick, attempting to keep the slime in place for the second round.
Accel Blitz + Counter + Attack x3: -60 stamina & -10 prana

Action Phase
Ryan was starting to feel tired by now, as he had done quite a lot of moving in a very short time, but now was not the time to give up yet. "Ariariari!" he exclaimed, as his legs acted like a piston that pumped three consecutive kicks onto the slime with yet another burst of speed, courtesy of Tidrog. As for the Projection, it used kicks to continue to pin down the slime in conjunction with Ryan, either on the ground or in the air. As for the final kick, it would kick to a side, away from Ryan.
Right after that final kick, the Projection disappeared, as Ryan hoped the acid it was drenched in would fall to the ground and stop affecting him. Ryan himself, knelt down, taking deep breaths to try and regain energy.

As Hibiscus was hiding behind Ryan's form, and he himself was barely splashed with goo, she herself did not get any on her. So far so good. None of the slimes seemed to be going after the ones who weren't in battle, or haven't made moves, like Hibiscus herself. Ryan seemed to be in a sort of major pain, and from a glance at her AMD, Hibiscus knew that he was hurting, The hell? He didn't take any of the hits himself- But then she remembered that Ryan shared pain with his projection, meaning that Ryan effectively had slime covering his entire body at the moment.

For some reason the soldier with multiple summons dropped all of a sudden. Hibiscus had a guess it had to do Aurashock, and left him be. If the slimes didn't attack him, then he was fine.

(Start of turn: +5 Prana)

Reaction Phase:

"Right." Hibiscus said, raising her blade, then plunging it past her aura into her right arm, at the bicep, wincing as she did so. Once it was established into her arm, she dragged the blade downwards, pointing her right hand towards the ground, letting the blood drain downwards onto her book, where it gathered and stayed, magically.

She then raised the book towards Ryan's back, the blood turning into magical energy that still resembled blood, that fired off into his back, healing his wounds with her Healing Hurt spell.

(If my calculations are correct, Ryan will be healed for 35 Aura)

(Healing Hurt: -10 Aura, -10 Prana, -5 stamina)

Action Phase:

Hibiscus did the same for Londo, after she saw he was letting himself be attacked for no reason.

"You fucking moron! Don't let yourself be attacked and get careless!" Hibiscus said, using her Healing Hurt spell once more, and this time aiming it at Londo.

Things looked to be good.

Or at least it did, for like, all of three seconds

Then Ryan ran all the way to the back to join Almeida in her slime-crushing, leaving two of the slimes up at the front unattended. Londo, in all his loud grand-standing, sadly only drew the attention of a singular slime while Ozymandias was suddenly seized by Aurashock, his summons decimated instantly while the man himself promptly fell over.

Lavi, of course, had not taken the advice to run away and not be part of this at all, while Elisa was…doing the same, even if she was transformed?

And wow, now the ground was rumbling, threatening the arrival of more enemies, and two of the slimes were slipping towards her?

Suilen looked around. Ozy on the ground, Lavi untransformed, Elisa weaponless.

"Ugh."

Things weren't looking good after all.

Reactive Phase
Upon its perch within the canopy, the Preying Bird remained still, watching the battle unfold underneath it. Intelligent as it was, the spectral avian made no attempt at diving down and raking at the slimes with its claws while its Prana regenerated; such act would be foolish when those Familiars were composed of some caustic liquid. Rather, it remained where it was, senses sharpened and focused on whatever other creature would be emerging from the shadows of the surrounding forest.

The bees that swarmed Epsilon and Zeta, however, weren't nearly as intelligent, nor did they have any sense of self-preservation. As the slimes rushed for their summoner, they did what they were ordered to: be an obnoxious, buzzing distraction. Pinging against the skin of the slimes, the swarms didn't even bother to cease their activity when the bludgeoning arms of Epsilon scattered their Aura and turned them to magical dust.

After all, a distraction was a distraction, and so long as they did their jobs, Suilen could continue to do hers.

The globe of slime hurtled through the air, but the wispy-haired mage had two things going for her: the sacrificial distractions of her spectral bees and the fact that she had placed herself right behind a tree before the slimes had even started heading towards her. Reading the trajectory of the projectile, she used the tree as cover, ducking her head down upon impact to prevent any of the slime from splashing out to the side and getting her on the face. It hissed, of course, and practically melted into the trunk, but she was fine still. Her eyes flickered towards Lavi and Elisa again, and Suilen grimaced, steeling herself for what she was just about to do.

"One, two, three!"

Active Phase

Rolling out from behind the melted tree, Suilen hopped up onto her feet and brandished her Spear. Off in the distance, her final Bee Swarm rushed in to disrupt and draw the attention of the Gamma Slime as Almeida whaled upon it with her pickaxe, and once its task was complete, she forcefully de-summoned it.

The clearing was open enough. There were plenty of trees for her to take cover behind as well. Londo, Ryan, and Almeida should be wrapping up soon. Ozy probably won't be asleep forever, and when he got up, he'd be behind the slimes. Her knuckles tightened around the haft of her spear. This was going to be fine. Everything was going according to plan. Even if it didn't and she got hit, she was a tough girl. She could take it. So, essentially...

"Bring it on, snotface."

And with the poise of someone who definitely wasn't limping at all, Suilen sauntered off to the side, trying to draw the Slimes away from the three backliners with casual arrogance alone. In the wake of her cloud-like hair, more spectral bees manifested, their incessant buzzing filling the air. The bees weren't done yet, and Suilen wasn't either.

Reactive

Suilen Dodges.

Active

RP:

Almeida did great, and she even ended up defeating a monster. Due to a certain degree of detachment, Elisa was not quite able to organize her thoughts or her surroundings. She simply watched and stared at what was happening, and then she saw that things were not necessarily going that well with Ryan... Elisa with her fingers crossed, she applied too much force and her hands crossed each other making the klutz girl lose her footing for a moment.

AP:

Elisa recovered her posture and watched at Ryan. She felt frustrated about it all, so without much thinking Elisa tapped to her power once more. Sinking deeper and deeper in her mental prison. The reality cracked with ease as she swooped her hand with a decisive motion. Elisa felt a surge of cold and hot within her thoughts. Revelation used, and an empty mind slot was unleashed. -- Ryan gains the effect.-20 prana -10 stamina, +5 prana unleash Elisa just produced more Prana from nothingness.

Elisa wanted to offer words of encouragement, however she could not think of anything. The only thing that came to her mind was that her thoughts were almost like her body now, shattered and glasslike. At this point Elisa had difficulties discerning what was happening around her. The chaotic fight stopped appearing chaotic. Elisa was now at least able to concentrate into individual parts of the fight without being flustered or scared. Is this power eating me..?

[Innate Skill] Corrosive Slime
  • Description: The slime of these familiars' body is imbued with magic that eats away at anything else it touches.
  • Effect: All objects that touch or are touched by the slime will receive 5 damage at the start of their turn for two subsequent turns. A greater quantity of slime may result in multiple instances of this damage, while slime being reapplied to the same area will merely reset duration. Those who possess this ability do not take any damage from it.
  • Type: Passive
  • Duration: Permanent / 2 Turns
  • Affinity: Offensive

As described in Londo's post, Londo decided to trade a blow for a blow, receiving Delta's attack in exchange for delivering his Fist of Fury to the slimy creature. The blow lifted Delta off the ground slightly and knocked it back, though it was quick to land on its feet(?) and return to its duel. Thanks to the vitality debuff from Suilen's bird summon, Londo's attack had done more damage than even Londo had likely expected

(Delta: -30 Aura)

(Zeta: Attack x1 -5 Stamina)
(Alpha - Gamma: Slime Toss skill -5 Aura -5 Stamina)

(Start of Turn: All Familiars +? Prana +? Stamina)

(OOC Note: The statistics at the top of my posts will always be as of this line right here, after Start of Turn effects and before Reaction Phase begins.)

Reaction Phase:

Much like he had previously, Londo decided to just take the attacks from Delta. The monster's claws dug into his leg, and the burning sensation from its corrosive body resting on his lower leg did nothing to help the pain.

Londo: -16 Aura
(Londo has 2 new instances of Corrosive Slime)

However, difficult though it might've been for Hibiscus to believe, Londo wasn't entirely brain-dead. By taking its attacks thusly, he was able to slam his fists down onto it repeatedly. Londo's hammering threatened to dislodge it, making Delta's claws clamp down even harder on Londo in preparation for his next attacks. Unfortunately for Londo, Delta was not weeb enough to understand Jojo references.

Londo: -13 Aura
Delta: -15, -16, -12 Aura
(Each of Londo's Gauntlets have gained 1 stack of Corrosive Slime, and Londo himself has gained one more stack as well)

The third strike was finally enough to break Delta's grip on Londo, knocking it off and down to the ground. Before it could recover, Londo then struck it again, this time using his Fist of Fury with the intent of sending it flying once more. And while he might've sent it flying, it did so in pieces rather than a single unit, for its body had finally reached its limit and begun to break apart.

Delta: -20 Aura
Familiar Delta has perished

Though Gamma tried to slash twice at Almeida, she was quick to react and jump backwards. Her prompt reaction pared with the annoying bees flitting around and distracting it meant that its first attack barely grazed Almeida, while the second missed entirely. In turn though, the awkwardness of trying to swing her hammer forward and down while jumping backwards resulted in an attack that could only be called pitiful in comparison to her prior strike.
(There wasn't really any clear attempt to block an attack involved in Almeida's post, so she would only use a standard Counter, not a Parry Counter)
(The stack of Corrosive Slime on the hammer side of Valerius has been renewed)
Gamma: -10 Aura

Almeida then tried to make a follow-up attack, though as no details were provided it would be left entirely up to Alatar to decide the method. She kept it simple, hoisting the hammer and slamming it vertically down once more. Though her feet being on solid ground this time prevented the attack from being as lackluster as before, she'd notice that she didn't seem to be swinging as forcefully as before. Gamma was also quick to take advantage of Almeida repeating the same attack, quickly skittering to its left to avoid the blow that came crashing down.

Gamma then decided to press its assault further, rushing forward to come up alongside Almeida's right side and turning to face directly towards her side. From there, it would slash with both claws at once, tracing a V pattern in the air.

(Gamma: Attack x2 -10 Stamina)

Alpha had leapt up to attack the Projection, but found itself being intercepted in midair. As such, it found it impossible to put in any effective form of defensive or evasive action. The first kick from Ryan stopped nearly all of its forward momentum, leaving only the power of gravity working on it. As it fell back to the ground, Ryan followed up with two more kicks, while the Projection landed two punches and a kick of its own.

Alpha: -8, -12, -10, -12, -13, -12 Aura

Alpha wasn't down for the count just yet though. On the other hand, Ryan was pushing himself to his utmost limit. Though he was able to start up another Accel Blitz himself, he didn't have enough Stamina left over for his Projection to do so as well. Like with Almeida, there wasn't a whole lot of detail in the exact method of attack, so I'll use my own interpretation. Ryan tried to kick down at the slime, using his superior height to crush it from above. Alpha was ready for his attacks this time though, as it used its arms to intercept the blow and slightly reduce the damage it was taking.

Alpha: -6, -7, -6 Aura

With all the impacts it had received, Alpha's form was rapidly approaching its own limitations, but that didn't mean it didn't still have some fight left in it. Taking advantage of its prey's exhaustion, it quickly shifted back to the offensive. Once again, it would use its leg stubs to push off the ground, leaping up to latch onto Ryan's torso and slash away at his shoulders/neck region.
(Parry + Attack x2: -25 Stamina)
(Corrosive Slime stacks on Ryan's greaves have been renewed)

Ryan also decided to cancel his Projection, but because the Projection had been out for a significant portion of the turn already, the acidic slime on it still dealt some damage before the Projection was unsummoned.
Projection: -15 Aura
(As the Projection is no longer summoned, it no longer has Corrosive Slime on it)

Ryan and Londo were both healed by Hibiscus. Each regained 30 Aura (since Hibiscus has no Willpower with which to modify the spell) and caused Alatar to realize that he had forgotten to charge Hibiscus for her spell being ranged. Ryan would also receive Elisa's buff and be able to select the desired buff at the start of his next RP.

Suilen was able to successfully evade the slime thrown her way, as well as any splashing aftermath. Meanwhile, Epsilon had successfully taken care of the bees swarming it and Zeta. With nothing else barring their path towards Suilen, it was time to go all out. Both Epsilon and Zeta scraped up globs of their slime, cocked their arms back, and hurled their corrosive projectiles towards Suilen again. (Skill Use)

Action Phase:

Alpha wouldn't let up its assault. Were it latched on to Ryan, it would slash away at his neck with a right, left, right combo of horizontal slices. If it were not latched on, it would rush in as close as possible and deal the same combo, but to his nearest thigh. (Attack x3)

Gamma, too, continued to claw as much as possible at its target. Regardless of how previous attacks had gone, it'd move in close and use both claws to slash vertically downwards on the nearest body part Almeida had available. (Attack x2)

Epsilon and Zeta continued working together to bring down Suilen. After having yeeted lobbed their slime towards her from a distance, they immediately charged towards her. Zeta would lead the charge, leaping up towards her upper torso, trying to knock her off balance and bring her down. Epsilon decided to focus on her legs while Zeta tried that, bringing vicious claws in a horizontal streak across Suilen's leg(s). (Attack x1)

Though neither Elisa nor Lavi had given any indication of hearing the previous disturbances, they only seemed to be growing louder and closer. It sounded somewhat like another fight was in progress, and whether intentionally or un-, the two sets of combatants would soon find themselves face to face with each other

Stamina Cost for Evasion Guard & Counter & Parry Counter is reduced by 10.

The slime she ended up duelling hadn't perished yet, and thus she wasn't able to help out Suilen. Luckily enough, it seemed like Londo managed to deal with his slime, hopefully giving him time to help out Suilen.

Reaction Phase:
With the slime closing in on Almeida from her right, Almeida quickly moved a bit back and to the left (evade), to keep a bit of distance between them and to keep facing it, following it up by swinging Valerius horizontally from right to left in an attempt to make the flat side crash into the slime with (hopefully) enough force to smash it away from her. [Counter reduced + Attack 1x 30 stamina]

Action Phase:
If the previous attack had succeeded, she'd following it up with another swing (from left to right, with the sharp side towards the slime as she wouldn't turn the hammer around), hoping to hit the slime while it was still recovering from the previous hit and before it could close in on her again. [Attack 1x 5 stamina]

If the previous attack hadn't succeeded, she'd probably be a fair bit clawed up and in too close of a range to really attack the creature well, other than maybe trying to stomp it like a certain someone else. Rather than trying to do to same though, she'd instead opt to focus solely on creating distance between herself and the creature. (Move?)

Issues started to arise on Ryan's end. As he tried to convey the Projection to assist him with the attack, but failed. As he (regardless fo if he had success or not in killing the slime) fell to a knee, he briefly pondered on why he had failed. He quickly realized how much effort he had put into such a short amount of time. He had exhausted himself. It was then that he had a brief deja-vu of the future, or something of the sort, it was really bizarre. But he snapped out of it as quickly as it appeared, leaving him feeling lighter. Which was good, because the slime wasn't done with yet.

Reaction Phase
The slime wasted no time and attempted to pounce on him. Ryan had one knee on the ground, and he felt too tired to attempt a maneuver to get out of the way. Instead, he opted to rely on the superior range of his legs and the lightness he felt to aid him. Ryan dropped backwards, and reeled back his leg that wasn't resting on its knee. Given the height he was in now, he angled his foot slightly upwards to intercept the slime yet again and prepared some prana for a decisive Accel Blitz too. Then, Ryan pushed his leg towards the midair slime in a straight motion. Just to be sure, Ryan kept on kicking. First, he moved his right leg slightly towards the resting leg and swiped his foot sideways and to the right. As for the final kick, Ryan allowed the momentum of the previous strike carry his leg before charging with it to the left as his whole body followed the motion and rolled in the grass after passing his target with the full force of it.
Accel Blitz: -10 prana & stamina

Action Phase
At this point, Ryan felt exhausted once again. So, if he actually managed to kill the slime, he would slowly get up, panting as he did. He hoped that he got rid of the slime, as otherwise, he was wide open. There's not much he could do about it now that he was out of juice, now could he?

Londo didn't respond to Hibiscus shouting at him, he had already conceived victory! He landed blow after blow, not even thinking about the fact that the slime was debuffed so he couldn't count his hits as well, but in total, he landed 4 hits, and 2 Fist of Furies! The last combo move sent it flying, and with it flying none of its body pieces landed on Londo, so he took almost no damage from those! He did, however, take damage from the corrosive slime on him, but it was slightly mitigated by Hibiscus's healing.

Now that his opponent was finished, it was time to do his job of protecting Suilen!

Reaction Phase:

Since Londo had defeated the slime pretty fast, he had already been backing away from it towards Suilen (as that was stated in the last post), so he would be pretty close to them by the time they started launching goo.

Upon seeing that the slimes were attacking Suilen in unison, Londo charged into the fray, and uppercutted Epsilon from behind as it leaped at Suilen with a Fist of Fury, intending to send it flying much further than it had originally planned.

Action Phase:

With Epsilon slightly out of the picture, and hopefully Lavi being safe away from combat, Londo slid to the side of Zeta, and used another Fist of Fury, slamming his fist against the gooey flesh and sending it away from Suilen, towards the noise that was approaching closer to them.

"Yo Suilen! Sorry I missed out on protecting you, I got a bit too excited there! Let me apologize by kicking slime butt!" Londo said, preparing for more fighting.

Reactive Phase
Another slime down. They were stabilizing now, even with almost half of their group incapacitated or inactive. Brandishing her spear, Suilen whistled a little tune as she watched the slimes carefully, whispering instructions to her newly summoned bees. They buzzed in accordance, and as that telltale sign of a blob-throw presented itself, the swarm of bees rushed in once more.

Distract only these two. Take turns, rather than going all at once.

Bees dotted the slimes' perceptions once more, their wings and their glows twirling and spinning all over the slimy creatures. In that moment, Suilen took cover behind another tree, dodging away from the spray of slime as both corrosive shots ate away at the bark. She let out a breath, saw that the pair of them were rushing her now, and coiled her legs once more. It was all timing, all in a burst of speed. So long as she wasn't chased, so long as she wasn't stupid, Londo would be able to catch up and start actually beating these creatures up. Perfect judgment, Suilen. Perfect judgment.

Another swarm of bees swept in as the slimes leapt in for their respective attacks. Zeta went high, Epsilon went low, and Suilen leapt through the middle, twisting her body as she dive-rolled through the gap the two slimes left. A risky maneuver, but if successful, she would be behind them, forcing them to kill their momentum and turn around. Crashing into the ground with her shoulder, she rolled up once more, right as Londo charged past, delivering a mighty blow!

Active Phase
As Epsilon was blown away, Suilen closed in on Zeta as well, whistling sharply.

Within the canopy, the Preying Bird's eyes gleamed once more, having recovered enough prana to detect vulnerable points within the creature's body. Magical light shot from above, the energy penetrating Zeta, while below, the wispy-haired girl tightened her hands around her spear, thrusting outwards in unison with Londo's empowered punch. She had seen those creatures explode with gooey slime before. With the range of her spear, hopefully the spray of goo would only get onto her weapon, rather than onto her.

Drafi was probably going to be pissy about it though.

Whether she hit it or not, Suilen retracted her spear once more. A quick backward glance told her that Almeida and Ryan were…existing, at least. Hibiscus could pick them up if they took too much heat from those slimes.

Her iridescent eyes flickered briefly towards Londo as her final bee swarm rushed at Epsilon, a frenzy of bee shenanigans occurring around the slime. "No apologies," Suilen said, "I'm more fine than I thought. More of 'em will be coming, so let's wrap this up."

Hibiscus didn't like the way Londo put himself in such danger, as he took a lot of damage, even less than Ryan, who had clones who could pass on damage to him.

(Start of Turn: +5 Prana, +10 Stamina)

Reaction Phase:

Hibiscus stabbed into her arm, blood draining down, as she shot a Healing Hurt Spell at Ryan, healing him for 30 Aura.

"I'll be right back, don't die." She said to Ryan.

Action Phase:

It seemed like a lot more people were getting hurt this time, so it was time to break out the bigger guns, an AOE healing spell instead, as it was pretty unlikely that Suilen would escape completely unharmed. Even if she did, healing two bodies at once seemed a really good and profitable venture. So, seeing that the slimes were all almost dead, Hibiscus skirted around Ryan and away from the slime he was fighting so that she would be in range of the others on the other side. Once she got in range, she would continue with her spell.

Once again, Hibiscus stabbed her arm, the blood draining down into the book. However, instead of pointing it towards someone, Hibiscus pointed it into the air, and the bloody magical energy shot into the air, then after it reached 20 meters in height, it exploded, and showered over everyone in the area within 20 meters of Hibiscus, a radius of 10 meters in each direction from her. (hopefully meaning everyone), healing everyone inside of it for 12 Aura each.

She then made her way back to Ryan, feeling Anemia starting to set in. She would need to restore her blood levels soon.

Reaction Phase:

Her eyes sunken in she looked onto what was happening in front of her even if she wished to avoid looking at it. ''I am sorry Lavi, but I want you to continue looking for me alright.'' She nodded though she couldn't bear it, her face narrowed like her hands. Her teeth sunken into her lower lips. As she apologized in her own head, not being able to utter what she wished to say.

I am sorry... I am so sorry Ryan you are exhausted and in pain because of me, you are hurting because of me. I am sorry Londo I just can't force myself to help. I am sorry Almeida. I am forcing this upon you after all. I am so sorry Suilen, you cared about me and didn't want to see me get hurt, but its because of my own selfishness and now those two are... Her eyes wavering as she looked elsewhere, not being able to bear to see what might happen. I... am a failure that is bringing down everyone as Hibiscus says am I not, because of my selfishness. But I just I just I just. Why.

Action Phase:

She looked defeated, as she whom had been stuck in her own mind only now had begun to notice finally the sounds. Sounds that begun to come closer and closer, which sounded far worse then whatever was occurring here. She wanted to say something, she needed to say something but would anything pay attention to her because of it, she hoped it wouldn't but this had to be the least she could do.As she yelled out pointing the direction of where the fighting was coming towards. ''Get away from there, its dangerous there. Something is coming!''

(Start of Turn: All Familiars +? Prana +? Stamina)

(OOC Note: The statistics at the top of my posts will always be as of this line right here, after Start of Turn effects and before Reaction Phase begins.)

Reaction Phase:
Gamma's first two slashes were successfully evaded by Almeida's quick movements off to the side. Her subsequent counterattack forced the familiar to break off its next assault and try to protect itself rather than merely take the hit and advance. However, even though it shifted its arms to shield its body, the impact was still quite powerful and sent the slime flying for a moment. And though it still took a split moment to stop her previous momentum and reverse her swing, the sizable curved blade still caught up to Gamma before it could escape from the danger zone. As the sharp edge continued through, a clear separation could be seen where Gamma had been cleaved in twain. It was but a moment more before the slime completely fell apart, leaving its form spread across the clearing.

Gamma: -14, -20 Aura
(Each side of Valerius has had its stack of Corrosive Slime renewed)
Familiar Gamma has perished

Alpha would likewise be meeting a brutal end as it attempted to attack once more. Though Ryan was almost at his limit, he had just enough juice to launch another assault. Foot connected with familiar in midair as Ryan drained the last of his Stamina to finish off the slime.

Alpha: -10 Aura
(One stack of Corrosive Slime on Ryan's right greave has been renewed)
Familiar Alpha has perished

Meanwhile, Epsilon and Zeta were trying to attack Suilen. She was fortunate enough to find another tree just wide enough to hide behind and escape the slime attacks. Her attempts at leaping through the two familiars was about to be considerably less effective. While the familiars may not have been human sized, they were still more than large enough that a human would have trouble fitting through the gap between them. However, Suilen found herself unexpectedly saved from a poor dodge by Londo's timely arrival and punching of Epsilon. (Londo's post mixed up Epsilon and Zeta, but since it wouldn't make a major practical difference either way, I'll assume he meant Epsilon.)

Epsilon: -20 Aura
(Whichever of Londo's Gauntlets that was used has had its stack of Corrosive Slime renewed)

Zeta landed after missing its previous attack, only to be punched and impaled before it could recover and retaliate. It did not, however, receive a Vitality debuff, as summons don't normally regain Prana, and thus her bird summon could not have cast its skill again.

Zeta: -20, -10 Aura
(Whichever of Londo's Gauntlets that was used has had its stack of Corrosive Slime renewed)
(Suilen's spear has gained one stack of Corrosive Slime)

This was getting out of hand. Now there were two of them. Well, that wasn't about to stop the familiars. They were hardly bright enough to understand how much trouble they were in. Aggravated by the bees, both Epsilon and Zeta splashed furiously at the air around them, trying to terminate the pesky insects with extreme prejudice.
(Epsilon + Zeta: Attack x2 -10 Stamina)

Action Phase:

Following the end of evangelion, the two remaining slimes decided to try scooping out slimy projectiles and hurling them towards Suilen once more. Third time's the charm, and all that, right? Sure, it would nearly kill Zeta, but the work needed to be done.
(Epsilon + Zeta: Slime Toss skill -5 Aura -5 Stamina)

The bushes continued to rattle and rustle as something approached. Finally, what lurked beyond the treeline could be seen.

A massive plant monster stood before them. Its main body alone was the better part of three meters tall, and that was while hunched forward rather than standing vertical. Razor sharp teeth filled its maw, which looked capable of swallowing a human whole, albeit a small human. But the most terrifying part about the monster? It was panicked. Even not having encountered anything like this beast, one could immediately identify terror in its body language. So what could make such a creature so afraid? Logically, it could only be whatever was chasing it and just starting to emerge itself.

Rigid silver-gray wings. Horns in place of eyes. "Hands" that were little more than razor-sharp claws attached to spindly arms. A voice that was a cross between a woman singing "Aaaaaah" and the screeching of nails on a blackboard. Everyone in Uruk who was old enough to have gotten through kindergarten (except Elisa, because Elisa is always an exception) would recognize what stood before them as Public Enemy #1 for all of Uruk. It was one of the demons of the stratosphere; an Angel had descended.

IBCmNcl.png

As the Angel entered the clearing, it slowed to a stop for a moment, surveying the area. Then, it resumed its unearthly song, singing a tune known only to it. Accompanying this song was the formation of a light-green rune on the ground right beside the flower monster. A short moment after the rune materialized, razor-sharp winds exploded out from the rune in a vicious gray-green tempest. (Spell: Whirlwind)
