This is a sci-fi/fantasy RP. The Players are young Mages who have been brought to the Academy in order to develop their magical talent and protect their city. They will fight monsters that roam in the wilderness, investigate nefarious plots against King and Country, and so on. But that is all in their future. For now, after a bit of general plot setup, let us have the characters meet up, get to know one another, etc. We can feed them to monsters later.

The plot so far:
The students meet their teacher, Professor Yuki Okamoto, and have their first few days of instruction.

About a week into their Academy life, they are unexpectedly sent out on a mission to investigate the town of Normaden. They learn that a Witch, a powerful monster that sometimes grows from humans with magical potential, has developed in the region. Their Professor takes on the role of exterminating the Witch itself, leaving the students to handle some of its Familiars. During the students' fight, though, they are unexpectedly brought face to face with an Angel. After a fierce fight, the students are victorious and return to their homes safely.

Back in Uruk, the plots grow thicker. A massive force of Angels has gathered near Babylon, and the head honchos discuss plans of how to deal with the threat. The Academy's Headmaster learns that the Angel that the students encountered was sent by the Chief of the Galileians. What could Chief Herschel be plotting, and why involve these young Mages?

Completely unaware of these plots, the students are assigned another mission: to resolve an incident over who should possess a valuable research subject. They will be escorted and monitored by Essence Parker, one of the academy's Student Council members...

Elisa

Elisa waited patiently for the teacher to come up for an answer. When she gave the run down of the activity Elisa was acting normally.

Huh? Elisa quickly moved her hands in front of her lips. I'm an anomaly? She looked at the teacher, perplexed by what she just heard.

Spectres, I wonder. Why are they so familiar with those... Things. What is wrong with this world. I wish I could help them find out more about me. If my memories weren't a mess. And I really don't want to get lock up in an asylum for being crazy. So magic is about spirits making bonds. And if you are magical, you want a spirit to make a contact with you. Would that thing count as a spirit... No it's just a dream. It can't be real.

Elisa had a quite serious look, as she felt like she was sinking in her thoughts she would throw a glance at Almeida. Out of instinct Elisa would slide her hand over to Almeida's side and rest her hand on top of her fist. Elisa would pull her hand back, if Almeida unclenched her fist; and she was wearing a very plastic smile. It was as if, Elisa was trying to hide another emotion underneath her smile. It wasn't difficult to add up that what the teacher had just said, did not make her feel happy. But she at least tried to hold up a smile for Almeida to attempt to deceive her that she was okay with this with a white lie painted all over her face.

Professor Okamoto
gsaKz4R.jpg

The physical blow to Londo connected, but the mental blow seemed to have missed. What on earth did I do to get landed with this particular class? Elisa also seemed surprised by her reply. Whoever had been in charge of her interview and induction needed a reprimand.

But the worst of the children wasn't even one of the children. "Leave now, and I will be forced to repeat the sections you missed when you return. Go on your own time, rather than wasting everyone else's. Or was respect for your comrades not taught in the army?" After finishing her statement, though, Professor Okamoto decided she might've been favoring the stick a bit too much so far. The stick could only get you so far; it was time for a carrot. "Of course, the Academy is a meritocracy. If you can accurately describe the four stages of spellcasting, I have no reason to require your attendance at this time." The invitation was plainly present. Or perhaps it was less an invitation and more of a thrown gauntlet.

Should Almeida answer satisfactorily, Professor Okamoto would reply Not bad. The Headmaster's office is on the fifth floor of the central building: out the door, take two lefts, next building over, stairs on your right as you enter. If you are instructed to return to my class, meet us in Gymnasium A at 1:00 PM for training. Otherwise, do as instructed by the Headmaster."

Of course, if the answer wasn't satisfactory Almeida would receive a look of disgust, as if Professor Okamoto had just stepped on something repugnant. "I don't appreciate being questioned by incompetents. The next time you choose to vocalize your complaints, consider whether it's actually a good use of everyone's time."

Either way, though, it was time to begin the lecture. "As I mentioned to Miss Elisa earlier, magic is the use of power to make the impossible possible. Scientifically speaking, there was no way for me to knock Mister Sperry off his feet. Yet clearly, I did just that. This was made possible through a magic spell known as "Distant Strike". By using this spell, I could knock him off his feet without touching him directly.

"All standard magic is reliant on the use of Prana, a form of energy produced by most living things, humans included. By utilizing my Prana, I can cast spells such as Distant Strike. Close your eyes, and concentrate. You should be able to feel your Prana within you. Some visualize a pool of water. Others visualize a candle flame. Try and see if you can sense it, the power within."

After giving them a few moments to try it out, Professor Okamoto would move on. "There are three steps in casting a spell…" The rest of the lesson would contain an explanation of how spells work, introductions to extremely basic Cantrips such as creating a tiny flame, and so on, covering everything in the lore section "The Basics of Magic".

The clock's hands continued spinning around and around, finally coming to rest at 11:30 AM. "That's all for right now. Take some time to rest up and have some food. Class will resume in Gymnasium A at 1:00 PM.

(OOC Note: you have some time to do as you want. Feel free to talk amongst yourselves, speak to the teacher, force me to create new NPCs, etc. I recommend you do this "offscreen", collaborating with each other through Discord, Google Docs, etc and then only posting here once you have finished what you are working on, if that makes sense. Standard posting will resume with all characters in Gymnasium A at 1:00 PM, unless otherwise specified for your character.)

Almeida

'So the kid feels forced into trying to act more like an adult than me, that's fucked up.' They were Almeida's immediate thoughts when she felt Elisa's hand atop her clenched fist. Naturally, it made her unclench it, albeit it was only to stop worrying the kid. On the inside, Almeida was only more frustrated than she was before.

The same frustration lead her to react to Yuki's statement with a little more 'passion' that what might've been appropriate. "It wasn't a lack of mutual respect that got my teammates killed, it was a mixture of incompetent leadership, bad information and a fair dose of inadequate training. They were great people in a horrible system that pushed them into an even more horrible situation." Almeida stood up, putting her hand son the desk in front of her. "My way of respecting them is to make sure such bullshit doesn't befall anyone else, especially not these kids that get stuffed in a class by a system that seems to care for nothing but their experience with magic." She wanted to continue, talking about how one of the red-haired breads brats wasn't even past his 'Imma be a hero mom!' stage, and about two of the kids were just confused and scared little girls trying to be brave with fake smiles and whatnot, but she realised she'd just disturb those very kids more, so she took a few deep breaths and calmed down (and sat down) again.

As for the question, it made Almeida realise this place was likely to result in the same inadequate training. With half of the population fiddling around with magic, trying to learn their fancy cantrips and what-not, it was unavoidable to NOT know the basics of magic. Heck, Almeida had tried to do cantrip stuff herself, but gave up due to not wishing to spent too much time on it. "Get the prana, imagine as clearly as possible what you want to do with it or what you want it to do, and how you want it to happen, then let it go without screwing up." 'Wait, did she ask for four steps?' Almeida raised an eyebrow. 'Is she trying to sneak in a trick question or what?' She wasn't sure, but she shrugged her shoulders and figured she'd just make something up. "That's the steps I've learned, but if that's not good enough for you, I guess a useful fourth step would be to make sure it actually did what you wanted it to do, or something along those lines."

Assuming the answer was good enough, she'd try her best to recall the route towards the headmasters office. She'd then pick up Valerius, which was still standing against the wall of the classroom, flinging the weapon over her shoulder. She'd give Elisa a quick pat on the head (making sure not to mess up the girls hair after her diligent combing), and gave Lavi a thumbs up, finishing with a trouble-suggestive wink towards Ozymandius. She ignored Londo, but gave a nod towards the second red-haired kid as she walked out the door, heading for the Headmasters office to knock on its door.

Assuming the answer wasn't good enough, or that her previous comments had resulted in a Yuki revoking the offer, she'd stand up and glare at Yuki in defiance. "Just imagine how much more of a waste of time it is for everyone to be forced into an incompetent system, lead by incompetent people, hiring incompetent teachers."

Elisa

Elisa watched as Almeida stood up with admiration. She kept staring at her until she sat down, though at that point probably everyone in the class had.

She has more courage than I do. I have always accepted everything that adults have told me. No wait, I haven't. I have... The thought made Elisa furrow her brows and she was lost in her own thoughts until Almeida gave her a headpat. Elisa's eyes followed her to make an exit from the class and staring at the empty doorway for a moment. After a few moments, Elisa would turn her head back towards the teacher and give her, her full undivided attention.

Elisa listened as Yuki told them about magic. Close my eyes. Elisa closed her eyes. Concentrate. Elisa would relax her somewhat stiff shoulders. And her breathing would become quiet. She tried to clear her mind. Pool of water... Candle... What is it that I should visualize. Power? What is power. What is power to me... Focusing more a familiar thought came to her and she skipped a breath. That thought had no words associated with it. Only images. She felt like she was sinking in endless depths. Surrounded by dark, cold liquid. What was it? What came after... It's so cold. It's so crushing.

The teacher's voice for moving on from this mental exercise was like a booming echo for Elisa and she quickly snapped out of her drowning experience, opening her eyes. She looked around her, feeling slightly disoriented. Whispering to herself, "What was that? It was so cold... It was crushing... It felt like drowning." with a very quiet voice. She'd rest her hands on the table. Barely having enough energy to go through the teaching without snoozing. She felt a constricting feeling against her chest.

When the classes concluded, Elisa would have a hard time staying awake. As her eyelids slowly fell, her head naturally followed, placing her cheek comfortably against the table. She moved her hands instinctively and leaned forward. It wouldn't take much for the girl to be fast asleep. It would probably take some effort to wake her up.

Londo Sperry THE GREAT!

Lavi Fluér

uzetyVn.png

Location: Academy - Room 107

Sitting at her desk, she sat silently for a few more moments. Struggling to take all that had been said and keep a calm demeanor under the fake smile. But coming to herself, she glances at Londo who sat next to her. Eventually after Okamoto had just finished, she would learn towards him. ''Are you alright, it looked like it hurt.''

"Yup! Never been better, first day of magic school and I am pumped to save the world!" as Londo jumps onto the desk and strikes a pose

''To save the world, what is he talking about?' After having heard it once, she didn't seem as fazed, more perplexed. ''Ummm… you aren't nervous? I mean we are going to be forced to.. To fight.''

"Of course I'm not worried!" Shouted Londo, as he hopped down from the desk, "I've been training and learning to fight all my life in order to hone my power and defeat evil creatures! In fact-" Londo said, showing his Spirit's Core to the girl, "According to Alice, I've been fighting since before I was born! I lived multiple lives and this is only another step in the endless Londo existence!"

A small groan came from the orb, "Londo, please don't include me in your conversations. It makes me look like an idiot if you mention something nobody is going to believe."

"Ah it's fine!" Londo said, waving away the complaint and putting the orb away, "People just need to see to believe, and they'll see me kick some butt!" Londo said, striking another pose, "Oh, by the way-" Londo said, looking at the girl, "I never got your name, what is it?"

Chuckling out loud to herself, finding his words comical to hear the way he said it, unable to stop herself even. ''You are a funny duo you know that. The name is Lavi and nice to meet you Alice. I also thought most spirits didn't like being in their core color me surprised I guess. But I would rather hope; I would rather hope that this ends and so we don't to need to fight.''

"It is confining in here, but I don't really care much. Besides, this is a 'School Setting', and I don't want to disrupt that, despite that other girl doing that." Said the spirit core Alice, who seemed annoyed for some reason.

Londo thumped his chest with his left hand, "No need to fight? Of course there is! Fighting is a way of life! Speaking of which, I really hope the gym is gonna have fighting lessons! Speaking of which again, I'm gonna go off and eat. I forgot to even pack my lunch! See ya Lavi!" Londo said, leaving Lavi to her own devices and leaving the classroom.

Headmaster's Office
The outside of the Headmaster's Office was plain, despite the name. A simple bronze plate with the room's name decorated a sturdy, but likewise simple, oaken door.

Almeida

Even though Almeida had been given directions, she still had to take a while to figure out the exact location. Luckily enough, the short walk had calmed her down a bit. It didn't keep her from knocking on the door before she'd even know what she was going to say. If anything, she figured she'd just try to keep pestering with question until he basically had to admit how shitty the system was, or something along those lines. That's why three loud knocks on the door would soon echo through the hallways.

Hearing three knocks resonating through the door, Headmaster Miyamoto looked up from the paperwork he was attending to. He checked his watch; nobody was scheduled for a meeting right now, but he wasn't working on anything pressing. "Enter!" he called out, loud enough to clearly be heard by whomever was on the other side.

The first thing that stood out to Almeida was that the office was about as fancy as its owner. As she stepped inside, she parked Valerius against the wall next to the door and looked at the guy with long black hair in fancy robes, sitting behind a desk filled with papers and a computer. 'Why does he look familiar?' Almeida really had a feeling she knew him from somewhere. 'Wait, wasn't he also the guy from Thaumaturgy?' She realised he was, which made her recall that she had indeed read somewhere that he also ran this Academy. 'Great, now I've really made a beeline for the bigwig.' Well, there was nothing better than to go with things as they were. "Hello, and good morning. I'm Almeida Magnhild, I just got started here, but I've already got some questions for which the teacher directed me here." She figured beating around the bush would be a waste of time for both of them. "Such as why there is no separation by age, or why some of the kids seem rushed into classes before they even get a one on one talk with someone that fills them in on what they are and on what they're here for."

The name of the young woman who entered didn't immediately come to Headmaster Miyamoto, a clear sign it was one of the newer arrivals. With how few people overall passed through the Academy, he tried to make a point of memorizing every student's name and face. Since she was polite enough to introduce herself immediately though, it wasn't particularly an issue. She didn't hesitate to launch straight into her questions, either. That direct approach method likely served her well in the army, but we will have to see about whether it is an intentional choice, or merely her personality..

Either way, the questions had been asked, so a response was needed. "Miss Magnhild. As I recall, you are under, hmm. Ah yes, Professor Okamoto. While we do sometimes separate students by age, in this case we have chosen not to. There are not enough new students to warrant the splitting of classes. As I'm sure you noticed, your own class is hardly overflowing. In addition, we are testing out a new style of training with your class. Having a variety of ages allows us to see whether it is more or less effective with different age groups."

"As to the second, unless I've fallen behind on the times, what Mages do, how new students are brought to the Academy, and so on should be common knowledge. At the very least, it is covered in public schools throughout Uruk. The only exception should be those like Miss Elise in your class, who came here through abnormal means. If her knowledge is lacking, I shall see what can be done to correct it."

Truth be told, Almeida had already forgotten the name of her teacher, at least until it was brought up by the headmaster again. She wasn't likely to remember it this time around either, as the bullshit reason for the lack of age separation made it difficult for her to process anything else. She did realise she was in front of a bigwig here, so she decided to at least let him finish speaking before she'd protest. It wasn't like the rest of his answer added much towards his favour though. "I'm sorry, but I truly fail to understand how this can be any type of effective. I'm stuck in a class with a kid that's clearly not past the stage where they play the hero, who would probably get himself killed in a second if given the chance. Heck, some of them can barely even dress themselves, it seems. They've got the basics of life to learn, let alone the basics of combat in general, and they'll need a whole lot of guidance to make sure they won't just end up dying before long. Meanwhile, me and the other guy from the army at least got a few years of experience of combat, and about double the life experience in general. If I were to have had any talents at teaching, I'd have been more likely to be a teacher rather than a student in this class, so I fail to see how using the same class and teacher for everyone is anything other than doing a half-assed job towards anyone involved."

A kid who was playing the hero? That must be referring to the Sperry boy. Headmaster Miyamoto had to admit that he was hardly the ideal candidate for Mage training, but he was also not particularly in a position to complain about any candidates he got. "I understand your reluctance to accept the younger members. Unfortunately, having the potential to be a Mage has no relevance on how they were brought up. Being unable to properly dress, having a hero complex, and other such issues are failings of their parents or other caretakers. Naturally, some effort shall be made to fix such issues, but unless they are detrimental to their ability as Mages, they are not a high priority. Indeed, one could argue that Mister Sperry's hero complex could be used in his favor as a way to encourage him to greater heights. As Mages cannot be truly killed easily, the risk of recklessness is relatively negligible, though of course still undesirable."

Miss Magnhild also raised a point about her prior military experience. If Headmaster Miyamoto had not been speaking officially, he might've been tempted to burst out laughing. "As I'm sure your military training taught you, Mages and their tactics are completely different from those of average soldiers. An infantry company operates differently from a company's worth of powered suits. Other than your occasional run-ins with monsters, your basic first-aid training, and so on, your experiences from there are rather meaningless in terms of how they enhance your abilities as a Mage."

Almeida couldn't stop herself from glaring at Miyamoto as he casually brushed aside some basic and fundamental pedagogical necessities for these kids as optional secondary objectives, so to say. "It sounds like little more than a quick and easy way to end up with traumatized child soldiers whom cannot even function properly once they finally get relieved from duty." As for the 'meaninglessness' of her experience in the military, she couldn't help herself from balding a fist. "I've seen people die, and I've pulled the trigger on humanoids. Those are two things that can traumatize even an adult, things that you've got to pull yourself through and deal with. That's an experience for which these kids are already extremely young to be going through, and they might just end up stunned from shock if such a situation were to ever arise. If you expect these kids to start fighting in earnest, they'll need to be prepared for that, and all the other traumas that can come with being on the frontlines, whether you're a mage or soldier."

Headmaster Miyamoto's words had clearly struck a nerve in Almeida, and not in a positive way. However, that didn't mean he had any reason to apologize or console her. "You criticize Mister Sperry's idealism, yet you seem to be something of a dreamer yourself. This is the Academy. Welcome to hell. By the time they are done here, those children will be older than you are now. Or they'll have their Souls completely destroyed. They will endure and adapt, or they will crack. But even a rabid dog can still be used. There is no need to provide fixes to their parents' failings. So long as the way they dress, how heroic they feel, or how much they want to protect children doesn't get in the way of their duty as Mages, we have no reason to expend effort correcting it. And you are correct, you have killed before. But you started just like them, and that advantage will be overcome swiftly enough to be irrelevant. As I'm sure your time as a soldier taught you, Mages are always in demand. The sacrifice of Mages' childhoods, sanity, and so on are small prices to pay for the continuation of Uruk and humanity."

At the phrase 'a rabid dog can still be used' Almeida stood up and was about to throw the nearest object at the fuckface, before halting herself with great effort. "Maybe the amount of useful Mages would be a bit higher if these Mages were treated a bit more like human beings, or in this particular case, like children. If you're playing cold and rational here, at least factor in how much worse you're making this already dubious practice of child soldiers look by not even doing a decent job at raising the kids you stole away from a chance at a normal youth. For someone talking about protecting humanity, you're awfully quick to give up on it when it's convenient, and awfully ignorant about some of the most basic things humanity entails, like giving a child a chance at a decent upbringing and future. The moment you take the kid away from their family, you take in the responsibility of their upbringing, even the failures that the parents, thanks to your intervening, can no longer fix themselves. The fact that they're needed for the safety of this city doesn't mean they're nothing but tools, although you make it sound like you'd even take better care of your tools than of these kids." Almeida could probably rant on for a few more hours, but she was probably talking to a wall here. She'd wait to see if there was something sensible of a response, but with little hope.

Almeida's face was a perfect picture of rage, but Headmaster Miyamoto made no signs of defending himself from any potential projectiles. None came, other than spoken ones. "There's a phrase from Old Terra that I'm particularly fond of. 'If it isn't broken, don't fix it'. As long as a tool can serve its purpose, it can be used. So long as they are usable, I will use them. And humanity? Hah. The history of Old Terra conclusively proved that the leaders who created so called Golden Ages of peace and prosperity only did so by climbing over corpses. I am not one of the great leaders; I merely pave the road. In order to preserve and expand the current Golden Age of peace and order for the rest of Humanity, I will sacrifice as many Mages as needed. If you don't like me or my policies, then fight. Fight to create a Golden Age without further sacrifices. Do so, and there will be no more need for a monster in power." The Headmaster nodded towards the door before picking up his pen and returning his attention to his paperwork, evaluating a report of some kind.

Suspicions were turned into reality, as the the headmaster answered with the expect kind of bullshit. 'Fuck, he's one of those deluded dipshits that consider themselves the anti-heroes and use such bullshit to get away with even more bullshit. Those are the most incorregible annoyances…' She figured there wasn't much more to say, other than two simple things. "Thank you for your time~" She said it with sarcasm almost visibly dripping out of it. "Oh, but I'm pretty sure an even more common saying was that things that are taken care of will last. You don't need to fix what you are able to prevent from breaking altogether." With that, she picked up Valerius and left the office.

Kazuya Miyamoto
DgrNM5H.png

After the office door closed, Kazuya breathed a sigh of relief. Playing the anti-hero, no, he was more of a villain at this point. Playing the villain was always a pain in the rear. Especially with the inevitable questioning that followed. "Disciple. You speak of preserving Order, yet your deceit is of Chaos." Yes, as expected, there was her voice, criticizing him as always.

"As I have explained before, Humans are of both Order and Chaos. We can use Chaos to create Order later, like I did there. The Chaos of my deceit is much less significant than the Order that will come about through His Majesty's plan. And for that plan to work, we will need that girl's power. Or rather, her capability. Her actual power is relatively insignificant, but we need her to be placed among the others to fulfill the plan."

The voice remained silent for a few seconds before continuing. "As always, your human thoughts baffle me, Disciple. How is it you use Chaos to bring Order? How does the other use Order but seek Chaos?" The subject of the second question was clear, considering the report Kazuya was viewing.

"You don't need to worry about such issues. Was I not chosen as your Disciple precisely so that you did not need to understand humans yourself?"

"I suppose that is true. Indeed, were I to understand, it would likely be a sign that I have been corrupted by Chaos." Kazuya couldn't help but be relieved. Even if this conversation had been repeated word for word countless times, it was still stressful. She was absurdly good at detecting any lies, deceits, or other things "of Chaos", as She called them. Thankfully, he had convinced Her to only ask when they were alone, but there was always the risk of her query interrupting whatever deception he had planned. Like with Almeida, convincing her that he was utterly heartless was crucial to provoking her anger. And while Kazuya was hardly a starry-eyed child anymore, he did still have something more or less resembling moral fiber. Had that deception been criticized, it would have ruined the entire plan for that conversation. He needed Almeida to be furious over his heartlessness, not his lies.

Well, only time could tell if Almeida would react as desired. For now, he could only wait and see. And review this damn report. Its no wonder Project Gravigigas is having trouble. The calculations for these miniaturized magic circles are completely incorrect. Well, a few modifications here and there, and they should be able to get back on schedule...

Londo Sperry THE GREAT!

Location: Academy - Teacher's Lounge

After saying his goodbye to Lavi, Londo decided he needed something to eat, but as Londo had not packed a lunch, nor had any idea of where to find the cafeteria, he made his way around the school. Eventually, he found the teachers' lounge, where some of the teachers would be found lounging around, finishing their work, or just drinking coffee. Londo himself was there for no reason, but to find a teacher to show his glory to!

And maybe steal a donut from.

Londo made his way to the only teacher in there at the moment: A very dramatic-looking person who looked like he would belong right in Fire Emblem, "Yo mister! My name's Londo Sperry, the GREAT!, what might you be doing in a fine establishment like this?" Londo said, leaning on one arm on the desk, which was easy due to his current height.

Professor Roland Steele was hard at work on his latest project, a masterpiece of a manuscript that would be proclaimed by future generations as a great classic of literary history. Assuming he ever got around to finishing it. He always seemed to have trouble staying focused on projects such as these. Especially when small students come wandering in to chat. "Why, hello there, Londo! I'm Roland. Its a pleasure to meet one such as yourself." All this was said with a delighted smile on his face as he performed a Willy Wonk-esque lean of his own. "I'm writing my masterpiece at the moment. I'll be sure to send you a signed copy when its published."

Londo glanced at the book that was currently being written about, but all he saw was what looked to be like a doctor's handwriting. Londo glanced back up at the teacher, Roland, and asked, "What's it about? I don't speak medical. Also, are there any snacks around here? I gotta fill up before gym today!"" Londo said, flexing his arm to show that it was slightly harder and stronger than an average 13 year old's arm.

Roland burst out laughing, a pleasant baritone voice echoing through the room. "Its about an awesome Mage who goes on a grand quest to save his kingdom and win the heart of his lady love. And its not written in "medical", its a style of writing known as "cursive". It doesn't get used much nowadays, but I love how it looks, so I taught myself how to write in it." But a child being hungry before gym was no laughing matter.

Roland pulled out one of the drawers of his desk and rummaged around in it for a minute. "Hmm, I could've sworn I still had something. Hold on for a minute." Roland pushed back his chair and stood up, moving around to the other side of his table and opening a drawer on that side. "Aha! Ragan's private reserve! Wait, you're too young for this stuff. Hmm." The drawer was shut, accompanied by the distinct sound of glass bottles gently clicking together. Roland moved one more desk over and opened up a drawer. "Here we go!" His hand emerged from the drawer clutching a package of popular Uruk cream-filled sponge cakes known as Trinkies. He closed the drawer carefully so as not to disturb the "#1 Sister" coffee cup still filled with now frigid coffee before returning to his desk and Londo. "Have a couple of these Trinkies. Yuki won't mind. She needs to be watching her weight anyway, if she ever wants to attract a decent husband."

Londo took the twinkie-ripoffs with gutso, "Ah nice! Thanks! That story sounds cliche though. I think it's been done a lot before, but maybe you can make it great again!" And started to chow down on the trinkie, "Also-" Londo said in between bites, "According to my Spirit, Alice, I've been reborn and reincarnated enough times to be even older than you! So if anything, I should be saying you're too young to drink it!" Londo said, giving him a thumbs up and a trinkie-filled one-eyed smirk.

And immediately after, "Oh, and who's Yuki? Sounds familiar…" Londo said, then pondered about who Yuki was. Did he write about her before in his "Tales of Londo the Great!" ? It definitely couldn't have been the same person, but if this woman had the same mental image of his Yuki, then Londo would probably get their personalities messed up to, "Is she a sadist~?" Londo asked innocently.

"Older than me? Hah, your Spirit seems interesting. Still though, its not a good idea to drink before you work out." The next question caught Roland completely off guard. "A sadist?" He placed his right hand on his chin, cupping his right elbow with his left hand as he closed his eyes and nodded sagely. "I could definitely imagine her using a whip quite well. And her Transformation is probably close enough to count as leather. And that'd explain why she never brings her boyfriends around; she's embarrassed that they're subs. Oh yeah, its all coming together." He opened his eyes and turned towards Londo. "Yes, its likely that she is a sadist."

Londo thought about Yuki some more while finishing off his twonkie, a domme huh? Londo swallowed the last of his tekken and put his hands behind his head, leaning backwards against the desk, "So enough about that Yuki person, you can use magic right? What kinda magic are you able to do? Can you blow up stuff? Have you ever fought those monsters before? What do they look like? What do they do? Do they look like normal animals or bugs or dinosaurs but bigger?" Londo let out a string of questions as if his mouth were an automatic machine gun.

But then out of the spirit orb Londo carried, a small flash of light appeared, and out popped Londo's spirit who I just now decided to bring out because I actually found a picture of her, who then lightly sat on the desk next to Londo ,"I really think you should stop bothering the man Londo." And took him by the arm, "I'm very sorry for him sir, please excuse us." She said, trying to drag Londo out, but Londo planted his feet saying, "Noooo, I wanna hear what he has to say! He's the most interesting teacher here so far!"

Roland puffed out his chest proudly. "Naturally, I can use magic. I'm the Academy's top dog when it comes to wind-based magic and aerial combat. I can't just create an explosion, but I can create tornadoes. I've fought lots of monsters in my time. Some are real ugly mugs, the stuff of nightmares. One I met once looked just like a dog you'd find in a house, but when it opened its mouth it had tentacles like an octopus and fangs like a shark inside. Some are actually pretty normal though, just big. Like Giant Vultures. They're just vultures, but big." But any further answers were interrupted by the appearance of a stunningly beautiful, buxom babe. Just from looking at her, Roland felt something rising. Yes, it was definitely rising up… Inspiration! "Oh fair madam! You are incredible. Your poise, your mannerisms, YES! You must allow me to base one of my characters off of you! Of course, when it is adapted to film, I'll recommend you be selected as the actress. I'll give you .5%, no, 2% of the royalties too! How about it?" Were Roland a dog, his tail would be wagging a mile a minute; as it was, he just wore a boyish look of glee on his face.

Alice stopped in her tracks, letting go of Londo, who then flew backwards and crashed into a desk from his own force pulling that way, "I'm going to have to decline. I don't care about being in any film or anything and we have better things to do… But you don't really seem to be all that bothered about Londo. I guess it might not be any harm to give you inspiration at the least, but I refuse to be in any movie." She said, crossing her arms and sitting back on the desk.

Londo then went back to the desk, also crossing his arms and leaning against it, "So anyways, do you have a spirit, Roland?" Londo asked, wishing Alice would go back to her Core form so he could toss it up in the air repeatedly.

"But of course, madam! Your wish is my command!" Roland sat back down at his desk. A drawer flew open. He whipped out his parchment, put just the tip of his quill into the pot of ink, and started moving his hand furiously, jotting down every detail about Alice. The way her hair fell across her shoulders, the color and shape of her eyes, her three sizes, her preferred footwear, the tone of her voice, everything was faithfully recorded for later use. As he scribbled his notes, Roland responded to Londo's questions without diverting any obvious attention to Londo outside of the sound produced by his lips.

"Naturally, I have a Spirit. I actually have two. Neither is here right now though; one is out surveying the northern regions, and the other is out shopping for dinner supplies. Perhaps if you come by another day, I can introduce them to you. Neither are as wonderful or awe-inspiring as this fine lady here though." Right as he was finishing his sentence, he made a final stroke and finished… his notes on Alice. "Thank you, madam! While these notes do not nearly do you justice, they shall serve me well in my writing." Of course, Roland would love for her to stay as long as she wanted; forever even. But if a fine lady like her felt the need to depart, Roland would be ever the gentleman.

After Roland was done doing whatever to Alice's image, Alice called out to Londo, "Alright Londo, have you finished all your questions?" To which Londo replied, "Yeaaaaa. I'm kinda sad I didn't get to see a teacher's spirit, but I wanna see them now! Let's get ready for Gym! I'm so excited for that!" Londo said, as Alice formed back into her Spirit Core, which Londo caught, then started to run out of the room with. As he got to the entrance, he raised a hand in farewell, "Seeya Mister Roland! You're fun to talk to!" Londo said, leaving the teacher's lounge to head to the Gym.

Roland bowed towards Alice's Spirit Core (and the Londo carrying her) as she departed. But just as he was about to sit back down, a chill ran up his spine and his face turned white as a ghost. As sweat broke out on his forehead, he slowly turned around…

CtIbbzQ.jpg

"ROLAND STEELE." Perhaps it was just Roland's imagination, but the room felt like it had dropped a solid 15 degrees in the past ten seconds. "Just what the hell do you think you're doing with my Trinkies?"

"Ahahahaha. I can explain, Yuki, I swear. You see-" A roundhouse kick to the head knocked him out before he could give any further explanations.

"Seriously, the adults in this place might even be worse than the kids. Yuki muttered as she reclaimed the Trinkies, put them back in their drawer, and placed a small surprise for Roland the next time he was stupid enough to try and steal her snacks. After that, she left the room and headed off to prepare for afternoon classes, leaving the unconscious and concussed Professor Roland lying facedown on his desk.

Ryan wasn't able to get a good glimpse at his surroundings, as he arrived mere moments before the actual teacher. She was carrying some papers and was donning a more professional outfit, and most notably, actually instructed the small group to sit. Yuki Okamoto was her name, and she gave some initial details about the class. Things that Ryan considered understandable enough, but she gave space for any questions the group might have before starting with the actual class. Ryan considered the proposition, and thought about if he had questions of his own. All that came to mind were questions related to what he assumed would be reviewed in the class. Instead, he opted to hear from his classmates.

Before any questions were asked, a kid loudly barged in, presenting himself in a grandiose fashion. His name was Londo. It was kind of funny, but Miss Okamoto was quick to take him down, literally. Londo didn't seem to mind, and obeyed like nothing had happened. With that incident out of the way, the questions started. What stood out to Ryan the most was the confusion of the girl that had some ink stains on her. She was the one that seemed to be the most out of it. Even the teacher was surprised by it. From what he gathered, she was not an usual mage, but why exactly wasn't clear, as Miss Okamoto was rather vague about it. Regardless, the girl seemed altered by her answer. It made Ryan feel bad for her. She was basically told she was a freak. For now though, he stayed quiet. He already felt somewhat intimidated by his teacher, he didn't want to get on her bad side, like Londo, or the young woman with hair length rivaling Tidrog's. With that in mind, Ryan kept his mind busy by paying attention to the lecture and focusing on the exercises, even if he had some grasp of the concepts. A little reminder wouldn't hurt.

As if time flew by, class was dismissed. Miss Okamoto instructed the class to their next activity. They had some time before said activity started, so his classmates dispersed. Ryan took a look around, as he left his desk. Lavi and Londo were talking, and he didn't want to intrude. As for the man on the back, his spirit scared Ryan, so he'll introduce himself some time later. That left Elisa, which seemed to be asleep. He usually wouldn't bother someone in dream land, but she kind of chose a very inappropriate place to do so. Given that she might get in trouble if she is caught here on her own, Ryan decided to give her a heads up. He walked up to her, gently placing a hand in one of her shoulders to shake her, all while saying "H-Hey... Elisa. Wake up..."

When Elisa had closed her eyes, she was devoured by her dream. Immediately she had a lucid experience of opening her eyes. The air in the class room appeared to be a light liquid, lighter than water but heavier than air. It made breathing uncomfortable. Everyone else was present in the class, some were leaving. Elisa tried to move but she couldn't. She was stuck to her chair. She looked around her at the students, they were who they were supposed to be, except they had no faces.

A dark echo came from the distance and Elisa gave a look to the world outside through the windows of the class room. The entire world was engulfed by a dark liquid. And the ground itself was shattering. Large pieces were upheaved to the heavens. Elisa realized that the entire school building was sinking. And soon to confirm that suggestion, cracks appeared on the windows, on the walls, on the ceiling, on the floor. The sky slowly darkened as everything continued to sink. And a gaze pierced through the endless sea that had become the sky. Soon everyone around Elisa disintegrated. And the class room cracked like a broken eggshell.

It didn't take long until everything around Elisa had disintegrated and she was sinking alone, in a cold dark abyss. It was an experience she had become accustomed with. Elisa was slowly giving up to the flow when suddenly she heard a voice reaching out for her...

Elisa slowly lifted her head as she heard a voice. Hearing only her name being called and a command to wake up. 'You dare to wake up the dreamer?' an alien thought flashed through her mind, malicious in it's intent. 'What?' she thought to herself, confused about the first thing that came up to her mind. She felt weary, whatever was pressing against her chest was turning her almost sickly with fatigue. The feeling was slowly easing and the odd one out could gasp for a breath. It made her drowsy and very calm, despite of being able to remember her recent nightmare with lucidity.

Elisa turned her head towards Ryan and opened her eyes. She squinted her eyes for a moment trying to recall anything about him. After an awkward silence she would say in a quiet voice: "I'm sorry. Have we introduced? I am Elisa..." She paused and looked at her surroundings: "... I presume we are classmates?" followed by that; 'Presume we are classmates? What a way to start a discussion. Of course he is in your class you idiot. He was sitting there but you didn't think about it and why did I even blurt that thing out. I really should watch my tongue more.', if Ryan became confused, Elisa would probably end up apologizing.

Ryan managed to get Elisa up surprisingly fast. "Great, you did it!... Now what?" He thought, as both looked at each other in silence. He started to feel the pressure. Thankfully, Elisa took the initiative and spoke. She apparently didn't notice Ryan, given what she said. He chuckled nervously as he scratched the side of his head. "Uh... Yes. I guess I was hard to notice, being all quiet and all... Sor- er... Nice to meet you. I'm Ryan, Elisa" As soon as the words escaped his mouth, he was panicking "What are you even apologizing for? Are you dumb?... Is she... going to think that of me?"

Following the awkward re-introduction of Ryan, Elisa would burst into laughter, her voice got a lot louder. With a tears in her eyes, she felt relieved from the weight pressing against her chest. Her broody and tired appearance changed in a flash and she smiled. She was now free from the crushing abyss that came from her, attempting to visualize her mana. "Sorry, I didn't mean to. Thank you… Ryan." Elisa wiped her tears. "You really saved me there. I must've messed somewhere with that teaching exercise. You know, I'm not really good with this magic stuff." She said, laughing to herself at the end and belittling her own abilities.

At first, Ryan felt very embarrassed. Elisa seemed to find his awkward approach funny. But then he noticed that her appearance change. He may have done some good by looking dumb, thought that brought a smile to his slightly blushed face. Elisa confirmed this when she thanked him. Ryan was quick to throw back "Yeah... no problem" as he gave her a thumbs up. An effort to hide his fading, but still somewhat present, embarrassment. The reason Elisa gave Ryan for her sudden tiredness was odd to him. They just had to visualize their prana... Maybe it had something to do with that 'Anomaly' comment Miss Okamoto made earlier. Thinking of that comment, and Elisa's reaction to it, brought back a bit of sadness within him. Ryan didn't think it would be good if he actually reminds her of it, not when she is as cheery as she looked. He opted to just go with her flow, and smile as she laughed, to then add "That's... that's fine, it's why we're here, isn't it? To learn... I'm sure we'll get good at it at some point"

The last words of Ryan, lifted up quite a storm inside Elisa. At first being reminded to be at the place made her feel sick about it. Almost to vomit. And she couldn't quite care about the learning part. Yet she felt the opposite at the end. With the two feelings she confused them to butterflies in her stomach. Being confused by what she was feeling, she opened up: "What if I don't want to learn. What, if I don't want to get good. I don't want to experience that again. I don't want to close my eyes and experience nightmares. I want everything go back to normal. Back to how it all used to be. That mana… To concentrate. To visualize something. It's sickening for me. Cold… Dark… Choking… To be dragged under the sea. Unable to breathe, drowning. I..."

Elisa would realize that she had gone too far, and she had been too open: "Please forget everything that I said. I wasn't thinking straight. It must be the low blood sugar. I get light-headed and confused when I wake up. Maybe we should go and eat something. It'll do good for both of us."

Ryan's smile quickly vanished, and was replaced by regret and concern, when he noticed his words' effect on Elise. She seemed very distressed. What she said had him at a loss of words. Was her magic use detrimental for her mind? Was that what was different about her? How is that even possible? Why would just try and feel her prana be so stressful? He had so many questions, but, they weren't as relevant to him as his desire to help her. But how? Unable to say anything to the distressed girl before him. He tried to formulate an answer, but words evaded him "I... I... ah..." Elisa might have noticed, as she cut him off, completely waving off the subject, blaming the moment of panic on hunger. Ryan couldn't quite believe that, but he wouldn't press her on with the subject, It's his fault that she got like this, he didn't want to worsen it. "... I... Okay... Yes, let's go to the cafeteria then" If Elisa had no other reason to stay in the classroom, Ryan would head off to get lunch with her. On their way out of the classroom, Ryan muttered under his breath "I'm an idiot"

The two would leave the class room and travel to the academy cafeteria.

Location: On the way to the cafeteria.

Not quite sure what to do next Lavi sat there and simply waved Londo goodbye as he began to walk out of the classroom, looking around herself it seemed the two teenagers were talking amidst themselves as well. And well the two of them… they unnerved her a bit. She didn't know why, but she grew a bit uncomfortable, a reminiscent feeling of someone which she couldn't place. As for the spirit and the man who sat in the back, they creeped Lavi out more so then the same uncomfortable feeling.

So she decided to rather just go to her room. Making her way out of the classroom she began to walk through the hallways absentmindedly, trying to figure out what path she took again. Until she began to hear a groan, a groan from her own stomach, Aaah I am so hungry, I haven't eaten yet since this morning. I… I will go do a detour.

Trying to follow the signs of numbers at this point, she made her way to the cafeteria to calm her stomach.

Location: Somewhere in the hallways.

Now that Almeida had gotten some time to think, after wandering aimlessly through the building for a while, she had calmed down enough to start questioning things. She parked Valerius against a nearby wall to stare out of one of the windows, starting to talk to the spirit short after.

"It doesn't make sense."
"What do you mean?"
"It's too much, too evil, so to say."
"I fail to comprehend."
"Mages are just tools for me to use, welcome to hell, I don't give a shit about them, stuff like that. Even someone that's plain evil wouldn't be that utterly vocal about it, whereas someone cold and rational would just try to defend themselves with numbers and facts."
"Meaning?"
"Meaning he's trying too hard to be evil, I guess."
"I repeating. Meaning?"
"I'm not sure. If he was insane, he'd probably not be the headmaster, or so I hope. Do you think he could be plotting something?"
"I haven't been around for long enough to recognize such behaviour."
"You speak formal enough to suggest you're a few centuries old though."
"Do I?"
"Yeah."
"That's not cool, yo!"
"Please don't ever do that again, and forget I said anything, ever."
"It shall be done."
"Thanks."
"So, what do you desire to do about the headmasters situation?"
"Nothing much, at the moment. If he's insane, others should notice soon enough. If he's always this outspokenly evil, the public will eventually rise up. If he's plotting something, however, we might need to figure out why, and what."
"I see."
"One thing I won't do is clear though, I'm not going to keep being angry at him. If anything, that'd probably just be what he wanted, after saying so much fucked up shit."
"So you're favouring him now?"
"No, I'm considering him a potential danger, but one that warrants fear and concern more than anger."
"I see."
"Well, I'll grab something to eat before meeting teach again. I guess I should respect her for being able to work under such a dipshit, enough to try showing up on time."

With that, Almeida picked up Valerius once more, heading into the cafeteria.

Location: Cafetaria.

Upon arrival, Almeida was quick to select her food. A few sandwiches (cheese, chicken and ham), some fruits (apple, banana) and a glass of water. Having picked up lunch, she looked around to see if there were any familiar faces around.

Walking down the aisles Lavi began to look around the buffet for anything that seemed like something she would want to eat, taking up a plate she began to assemble what could be called lunch. However there seemed to be a lack of unhealthy food, instead all seeming well made but just not that tasty looking.

With an abundance in salad, sandwiches, fruits or soup for warm food. Reminded of her mom she looked around once again with a different idea in mind. Something more healthy. Grabbing what looked appetizing, yet also healthy. A sandwich with toppings on it, a mandarin and three packs of milk since she still had to grow and began to look around for a place to sit.

Almeida soon noticed Lavi in the cafeteria, seeming to plan to indulge herself with a fair amount of milk. Figuring she'd leave the headmaster trouble behind for now, she waved at Lavi and headed over to her table, putting Valerius down on a nearby table. "Heyo~" She nodded towards the milk. "You're planning to grow a lot more, aren't you?" She had already said it before she realised the joke might just go over the kid's head, or maybe it wouldn't, Almeida wasn't great with kids. It seemed like she'd have to learn through trial and error though, with how many kids there were in this place and how few others seemed to care about them. Almeida could hardly ignore them just because she had forgotten how they operated.

Lavi sat down at her table and righted herself on her chair. Looking down at her mandarin. In a less than enthusiastic manner she began to slowly peel off the skin. A deep sigh exhaled as she looked down.

Quickly however her attention was throw off as Almeida waves towards her. She did not move yet. However as she heard the familiar voice as well her head quickly turned. "Hmm?'' Quickly caught by surprise as she recognized whom it was. As her demeanor became a bit more ecstatic and inviting again.

Her insinuation didn't seem to immediately catch on. As she began to search for what she meant. "Oh haha, you mean this? Yeah, I guess so as well. I mean I have always loved the taste of it, but when mom said it helps me grow in various ways I did kinda start drinking it more.'' And as she seemed as bit less subtle, it was obvious she understood the other meaning by even for a second looking towards her chest.

Having meant no double-speak, for her mind was more pure than her body, Almeida didn't notice she directed Lavi's attention towards a specific area. As Almeida was looking for a topic to avoid awkward silence, she realised the kid was probably here because she bonded to a spirit, yet there was no spirit in sight. "So, what kind of spirit did you bond with?" Almeida was a little direct, but she figured it'd be better than going about things in a roundabout way when dealing with kids. She'd wait for Lavi to start talking before taking a few bites out of her sandwich.

Having finished peeling the mandarin, she grabbed a piece of it and chewed on it as she listened to Almeida, chewing a bit more than necessary she created a bit of a pause, before swallowing it. "Hmm? Oh Phoebe you mean? Umm what to say about her. She has only really been one to stay in her mana form so I don't usually bring her along, but she is an animal spirit. She is really smart and ooh umm pretty.'' Taking another piece of mandarin, Lavi finished this a bit faster to continue talking.
"Uuh uum, aah. She is a nature spirit, like the ones you see more outside the city. A bit like me, I feel a bit cramped here in the city as well.'' Lavi glanced towards the large weapon that was the pickaxe. "Is that the spirit you made a bond with?''

'An animal spirit and feeling cramped in the city…So she's from outside of Uruk.' There weren't a lot of children growing up outside of the Bastion, as the dangers there were plentiful. Almeida figured it'd be best to avoid the topic of parents, as she had a growing suspicion it'd be a rather sensitive one. That's why she was glad to hear the kid speak so happily about her spirit. "Smart and pretty? Phoebe sounds like a great spirit to bond with~" Almeida said it with an honest smile. With the kind of life ahead of mages, having a nice spirit meant a lot.

As for her own spirit… 'Has Valerius even spoken to anyone other than me? I don't think so.' She wasn't even sure Valerius would, so she figured she'd call out to the spirit. "Hey, Valerius, why don't you say 'hello' as well?" Soon after, a voice could be heard in the minds of anyone within talking range, in this case amounting to just Almeida and Lavi. "Hello." The voice sounded as 'metallic' as you'd expect from a weapon that telepathically 'spoke' to its surroundings. 'So Valerius does speak to others, good to know.' Well, it seemed like the weapon didn't have much to say, so Almeida figured she'd take over. "Anyhow, yes, Valerius is the spirit I've bonded with. To be honest, we don't yet know each-other all that well, but we've got some shared ideals." She couldn't introduce the spirit as well as Lavi introduced hers, but it probably didn't matter a lot. With that out of the way, she started on a second sandwich.

She continued to listen attentively. Eating the mandarin she held in her hand, to finish it before she would have to speak again, at a bit faster pace. She seemed happy to see the smile on Almeida and the bit of praise she was giving Phoebe. 'Oh so it's called Valerius. A bit of a fancy sounding name.' She was caught by surprise as she heard a crude voice, it sounded like a person, but the manner in which it spoke. Its was so monotone that it sounded wrong in a way. But she was engrossed nonetheless, as it had been the first time she had talked with a artificial spirit. "Nice to meet you. Haha, I did not expect that kind of voice, maybe I should have. And I mean, I haven't known Phoebe that long, it has only been two days now. But I am glad to have her. I always thought Artificial Spirits were a bit rare, so I was a bit surprised, especially one in that shape. I hope you two will make good friends then, as.. do they call it partners?''

"It is most likely due to my status as a weapon." Valerius replied to the remark at his monotone sound, as if it needed further clarification. Almeida just raised an eyebrow at the weapon, but she wasn't even sure Valerius could see it. 'Wait, can a weapon-spirit like him even see anything to begin with?' They probably had some awareness of their surroundings, but she had no clue to what extend. Well, it was best to shrug it off for now. Instead, she replied to Lavi. "Yeah, partners in crime!" She realised the kid might not know the old Terran expression, so she was quick to clarify. "That's just an expression, by the way, we're not actual criminals. It just means you're willing to break the law together if such a need were to ever arise, or something along those lines."

Almeida did wonder if Artificial Spirits were indeed rare, or at least more so than other spirits. 'Now that I think about it, that might indeed be the case…' She resisted the urge to shout 'You hear that, you're a rare item!' towards her partner. She figured it'd be better to redirect the attention towards Lavi's spirit. "So what kind of animal is Phoebe like?"

She seemed to nod in understanding towards Valerius. But soon after there was a genuine confusion towards the quip of Almeida, not quite catching what she meant by the expression before and after she elaborated further upon it. She quickly took to mitigating eye contact and sipping out of the first pack of milk as she listened further. And as if avoiding it, took to the next topic. "Oh Phoebe. I guess; I guess a stag. But she is a lot more supernatural, like how her horns are, the color of her fur and skin, she has a tail more similar to like a horse and she has got like flowers made out of mana. You can definitely see she is a spirit when you meet her.'''

Almeida couldn't help herself from raising a bit of an eyebrow at the mention of Phoebe being a stag. 'I guess the spirit is equally androgynous as Valerius.' Spirits seemed to be weird like that. On the other hand, it was fun to hear Lavi speak about Phoebe like that. "I'll be looking forward to meeting her then~" Having said it, Almeida looked at the time. "Oh, we should finish up if we don't want to be late for miss… ehhh… our teacher's classes. I forgot her name." Having said it, she took her own advice to finish up her food and put away the dishes. She'd wait for Lavi to finish as well so they could head to the gymnasium together.

Nodding enthusiastically at the mention of meeting Phoebe, Lavi seemed to be hit by a realization as she drank the milk, a true miracle drink. Swallowing the milk she was drinking ''Oh yeah, I should be picking her up, right? Do you think teacher Okamoto wants us to have our partners with us for the gym class?'' She glanced at the likely clock hanging nearby and began scarfing damn the remaining sandwich whilst grabbing the two remaining packs of milk. "I can take these with me for the way there anyway.''

Professor Okamoto

Unfortunately, nothing's coming to mind for music for this scene, so just have this one again.

Location: The Acaedmy, Gymnasium A. 1:00 PM

Professor Okamoto entered Gymnasium A to see all of her students present. Even Almeida was there, and Londo wasn't late this time. Perhaps there was hope for them yet. "Welcome to Practical Training, everyone." Professor Okamoto declared as she moved over to the students. Anyone hanging away from the main group would receive a gesture to come gather closer. "While your mornings will often contain classroom learning such as what we had earlier, your afternoons will focus on how that learning gets used. Now then, we shall start off with Transformations."

Professor Okamoto closed her eyes and took a deep breath in. As her lungs approached capacity, her eyes flew open once more and she called out "Transform!" Immediately, her body was surrounded by brilliant light, bright enough to be painful to look at. Thankfully, the flash of light only lasted but a moment before fading and revealing Professor Okamoto once more.

Her swords are sheathed, as in the second image, but there are only 4, as in the first image. The outfit is dark grey and black.

Attired in her Transformation, Professor Okamoto once more addressed the students: "All of you who have Bonded a Spirit should possess the power of Transformation. Everyone, give yourself a bit of room and then try it yourself. Concentrate, and declare "Transform", and the power should come forth. Elisa, as you do not seem to have Bonded in the traditional sense, you might not have this ability, but it doesn't hurt for you to try either." Indeed, Professor Okamoto sincerely hoped Elisa would be able to Transform, considering how dependent Mages were on the Aura barriers that accompanied Transformations.

While everyone was going about their Transformations hopefully, Professor Okamoto made her way over to one of the walls, where a control panel of some kind was embedded. After fiddling with it for a moment, a soft, deep hum could be heard throughout the room as faint blue light coated the walls, ceiling, and floor (there was no change in people's footing/balance/etc). All of the Academy's gymnasiums possessed a powerful magic barrier that served to protect the structure from being damaged when Mages began practicing. Of course, it wasn't indestructible, but Mages capable of breaking through usually either knew how to hold back or just practiced outside of Uruk.

"Now then," Professor Okamoto turned back around towards the students. "Transformations are essential to Mages. Thanks to them, our Aura is brought forth into a powerful protective barrier. In addition, Transformations can increase our physical capabilities, as some of you may have noticed. Mages can run faster and lift more than the average human, all while expending less physical stamina than normal."

Suddenly, a knock could be heard from the gymnasium door. Professor Okamoto looked up at the clock mounted on one of the walls before continuing. "Go on and take a couple minutes to familiarize yourself with this new power you have. I will call you back over in a moment to move on to the next step." With that, she moved back over to the barrier control panel, adjusting the controls for a moment. The barrier parted around the door, allowing the door to be opened and closed for entry and egress while everything else was still shielded. The door opened, and a tall man entered, pushing a massive steel container in as well. Once both were inside and the door closed, the barrier returned to full coverage.

X1TYdkY.png

The two chatted briefly amongst themselves as they watched the students. Then, Professor Okamoto called out "Alright everyone, please come over here."

Once all were gathered, she would gesture to the man beside her, and he would take a bow. "I am Professor Raganhar Bátori. It is a pleasure to meet you all."

"Professor Bátori will be assisting me during this next step." Professor Okamoto nodded to Professor Bátori, and he began undoing the electronic lock on the container he had brought in. "As I'm sure you know, we Mages must fight monsters. But while we do possess Spells of varying kinds, most of us also make use of some kind of weapon." The container lock beeped happily as it popped and the container was opened. Inside, weapons of all shapes and sizes could be seen. Here, a longsword. There, a pair of gauntlets. A dagger rested alongside a rifle, while a battleaxe kept a brace of pistols company. And so on.

"In some cases, such as myself, Professor Bátori, and Miss Almeida, our Spirits may be able to serve as weapons, but the rest of you should pick out something to wield. What you choose now doesn't need to be a permanent choice; you should try to find something that feels like the best fit for you. Once you have something, go ahead and get a feel for it. If you have any questions about how to wield your weapon or what might be a good choice for you, ask me or Professor Bátori." Professor Okamoto would mess with the barrier control panel once more, allowing spots all around the floor to open up and raise up some training dummies. The dummies had their own (weaker) shielding units inside to simulate the effect of Aura barriers, and the main barrier covered the floor they emerged from so that the mechanisms were not damaged.

After leaving the teacher's lounge, Londo made his way through the halls, using his instincts and a map he saw on a wall to find the Gym. Lo and behold, Londo was able to find it. He made sure to get there early because he just HAD to be there in time. In fact, because he was so excited to be there, Londo got there a whole 20 minutes early! The excitement was building up the entire time, and anyone who actually noticed Londo would see that he had different clothes than this morning! A gym outfit to be exact!

And so, Londo waited, until the teacher arrived and began the lesson. First lesson: Transformation! The teacher transformed into something really cool, and had 4 swords too! Awesome!

The teacher then explained about transformation, and told the students to do it themselves. As the other students tried it out, Londo stood there, his arms crossed, looking smug and superior as his shining Glory was passively shown through his own transformation. That's right, Londo was already transformed!

Ever since last week when Londo found out he was going to be a mage, he had tried out, and perfected his transformation. Through trial and error he cited the magic words and was able to transform after only a minute of concentrating. Up until school started, Londo had kept trying, and perfected his transformation. Now he could do it on command with no effort whatsoever. In a similar vein, Londo had studied all his life because he knew he was destined to be a mage, and so already knew a lot of the basics of magecraft. Even that 3 step to performing magic earlier Londo knew by heart, although he did called it something else (Gather the Goods - Don't think, imasine - EXPLOSION!)

In this path of magic, Londo was a God! He had already transformed, and showed it with his smugness and superiority, putting on a cunning smile and laughing, "You see, my fellow students, I am a superior being! I have already mastered the art of transformation! My magical powers are unrivaled in all the land!" Londo smugly said, now listening once again to the teacher's advice for the other students. Now was time for the fun part! He would demonstrate his battle prowess against... Dummies? Londo had fought dummies all his life already, and sighed in disappointment, looking dejected as he realized he had to fight them more. HOWEVER-

Londo still was ready for this, and he was given a weapon to do so. He rumbled through the chest to see if he could find the pair of gauntlets that he had apparently used in a previous life. Alice knew what he was thinking too, and just simply said, "Just grab the gauntlets you see there Londo..."

Alice was mystified as well, however, as she had expected the transformation to give him his shining weapons back, but it hadn't, "You probably aren't strong enough in this body to use them." She said, as Londo equipped his gauntlets he borrowed from the chest.

"Of course I am Alice!" Londo said, as he walked up to a training dummy, assuming a fighting pose, "I am Londo, the GREAT!, after all!" He said, gathering his inner prana, covering his hand in lightning, then throwing a punch at the dummy, "Fist of FURY!" He yelled, striking the dummy with explosive force as Lightning surged from his fist into the unfeeling object, "Nice!" He said, enjoying his craftywork.

Alice was silent for a moment, but then said out loud, "You know Londo, a thought occured to me. Bonded Spirit Magic is a thing in this world. If I am your spirit, then maybe I can supply you with my own magic, and you can use those spells." To which Londo said, "Pfft, of course~! I knew that, I was just wondering when you'd actually let me use it! I can't use it unless you let me!"

TO WHICH Alice angrily replied, "If you KNEW, then why didn't you tell me?!"

Londo looked at Alice's spirit core blankly before saying, "I thought you did know, and didn't want to let me use the magic..."

Which was true, Londo really did think Alice knew about it, but didn't say anything. Alice sighed in defeat, "Fine, let me try using my magic to augment your attack for now." She said, gathering prana around them.

Londo felt the power coming from the spirit core, and wrapping around his hand, "Now THIS is what I'm talking about!" He said, stepping back, readying his fist, then throwing it at the dummy.

The strands of grey that Alice had applied to Londo's fist were now wrapped around the dummy, causing damage to the barrier around it. At the same time, Londo let out a yelp, "AH! MY HAND! ALICE, WHAT THE HELL?!" He yelled, even as the pain subsided and he shook his hand as if fanning fire off of it.

Alice was shocked to say the least, "I uh, I did not know that would happen. Maybe your body is not accustomed to death yet. You need to spend a bit more time with me here to do that without hurting yourself. For now, let's not use it."

Londo shrugged, "Naw, we can still use it, it just surprised me is all. Once per fight might be my limit though." Londo said, abrubtly ending the conversation, then going back to training with the dummy until someone interupted him.

Despite of her excuse, Elisa's cafeteria visit was a short one. She ended up taking a high-energy candy bar, an apple and a bottle of water. Ate the candy bar by the counter without ever sitting down, instead she left the cafeteria almost immediately. Her expression was non-chalant and cold. She was thinking what she had said, and how she had felt. She couldn't feel to express these emotions outside, making her almost completely unapproachable.

Elisa spent most of the time walking in the aisles, slowly gnawing the apple that she had. When the time had come for the next class, she approached the gymnasium, cutting it very - very short to the time. She sneaked the partially eaten apple to her pocket and disguised herself with a smile. In reality she wanted to escape, she wanted to leave this place desperately. She felt like she couldn't take another second.

Elisa listened as their professor started teaching the class and explaining about transformations. This is stupid. I should just ask to excuse myself. Elisa watched as the teacher suddenly transformed, Elisa gasped and stepped backwards in a reaction from the bright light. It was a short distraction. When everyone's else turn came, Elisa tried to transform. "Transform." She said. Her voice was powerless, and almost about to give up. It was evident she was not concentrating.

She watched others transform, feeling more like an outsider. Saying transform. Doing stupid teathretics. What is the point of all of this. This is all stupid. I wish I could just go back. Back to home. Back to... Elisa had tears mounding up and she hid her face underneath her hair and acted fast to wipe any tears that she had. She became even more disgruntled by all of this.

After a few minutes had passed, Elisa had chanted a few more times "Transform" with each repetition her spirit was more and more diminished. This is stupid. So stupid. Why am I here. She gathered up with the rest when summoned. Even weapons. Must be nice to have transformation. Must be nice to have weapons... Must be nice to... Why am I here. Why am I like this. It'd be better, if I didn't exi- Elisa felt a freezing in her brain, she couldn't even finish her thought. She simply dismissed the feeling, she wasn't crying anymore but her eyes had become quite red from all the crying.

Elisa took a deep breath and walked towards the weapons crates, she had a defeated expression on her face. Who are you to decide I don't exist. She thought. Freezing to her tracks. Who do you think you are?, almost as if having lost control of her own body, Elisa backed away while others were approaching the weapons.

If you like. You can stop existing. I will take your plac -- NO! I will not. You dare. You dare to threaten me. I am me. Elisa. I am Elisa, I am Elisa. one may have argued that she was quite mad to have this conversation with herself inside her own head. At least she was not talking to herself out loud. Then. Why are you afraid? What are you afraid? Elisa closed her eyes. "I fear nothing. You will not tell me what I should do. I do what I do." Elisa spoke out in an unwavering voice, she took a very deep breath; inhaling for 8 seconds through her mouth.

She visualized her Prana but instead of sinking, she dove willingly. Deeper and deeper. Elisa hurdled together, holding her hands against her chest. A voice of shattering ice echoing in a vast voice over a frozen lake emanated from the girl and the air around her was cold like in the dead of winter. She had reached the end of her visualization. The bottomless depths had a surface or bottom in the end. Elisa released her hands from around her chest. A ghostly light of unknown origin was coming from her chest, reflecting from a place, where it was, there were pieces missing. Elisa reached her hand forward as if she was pressing against something that no one else present could see.

"I guess... Transform?" She would say in a nonchalant voice; almost mocking her previous efforts. In a burst of prana her aura was manifested. It was like the air around her shattered like an exploding mirror, it didn't make a lot of sense to any who tried to view it. Elisa's transformation made it appear like her body was constantly shattering, disintegrating outwards and repairing itself from nothingness. Her entire existence was flickering like someone was twisting a kaleidoscope that only affected her body and nothing else. It was difficult to accurately discern her silhouette on every passing second, especially as the surfaces adjacent to her missing parts were reflecting light like mirrors. The air around her was cold, eerie and unnatural. Occasionally she would simply float in the air as she was missing the lower half of her body almost to it's entirety.

Elisa relaxed her hand. A sound of crystal touching against crystal could be heard from each of her motions, it was like wind chimes. The half-eaten apple fell down to the ground, phasing through her pocket. It was now frozen to it's core and the brittle fruit shattered as it hit the floor. Elisa would try to join the others, if allowed and reach out to a weapon. Only to find out that whatever her transformation was, she was unable to objects for longer periods of times, because everything that was physical would ultimately always phase through her blinking existence.

Machinegunner: 0/1 summoned

Description: The gunner has 30 prana, 10 stamina, and 11 aura. The gunner has D rank vitality, C rank perception, C rank Dexterity, and E rank for every other stat. The gun is allowed to fire 3 times per phase with 4 bullets fired per shot in a cone. The bullets travel at C rank speed.

Riflemen: 0/3 summoned

Description: Each rifleman is armed with an M16A4 Assault Rifle, they may spend 3 prana to fire the rifle. Every time it fires, it shoots 3 shots in a burst that travels in a straight line at C rank Speed. It may fire once per phase. The rifle has 1 durability. Each Rifleman has E rank stats.

Ozymandius had sat through the practical lesson, listening, learning, and trying. He had felt his pool of mana, a fiery pool of destructive energy that only awaited a target. It terrified him to think that he had this, and yet at the same time he found himself wallowing further in his despair. How had he not known? How could he have failed so miserably to save his squad mates with this power? Exceritus offered no comforting words or encouragement, remaining silent as she studied him during the lesson. Perhaps she had finally given up on jeering at him for failing? He doubted he would have had such luck. More then likely she was just gauging his usefulness based off of his ability to absorb the lesson. She always seemed to be doing things like that. During the break Ozymandius went off to his own to contemplate his own thoughts. He was prompt on arriving to the gym courtesy of Exceritus, who was chastising him as he walked through the door about how he was a failure, not pausing for breath or minding the company they were in. Largely it was a repeat of the sentiments of the morning. Ozymandius bore it silently, at the very least the spirit seemed to lose interest in berating him only a minute or two after he entered the gym, and at that point the lesson started not long after.

Ozymandius dutifully paid full attention to the professor as she spoke, teaching them how to transform and inviting them practice. Ozymandius went a little off to the side from the rest drawing his pistol. Beside him, Exceritus disappeared, but Ozymandius could "sense" her movement into the core. He concentrated, feeling the fiery lake within him. He drew up the power, then loudly shouted "Transform!" In a moment his old clothes were gone in their place was an olive drab military uniform. On his hips was a green canvas utility belt with various pouches hanging off, including several empty pistol magazine pouches. An empty brown leather chest holster was available for his pistol, and a helmet painted the same color as his uniform was stuck to his head. Ozymandius studied what he had quietly for a moment, up until the teacher called them back over, introducing the other teacher and announcing what they would do next. Thankfully, his wand was his weapon, and all Ozymandius needed to do was find some bullets for it. Digging around in the crate for a moment, he emerged with a few magazines for his pistol, he would ask for some more later on. Helpfully, they were already loaded with bullets.

Ozymandius stepped off to the furthest dummy away, and stood in front of it facing the wall, a short ways away. He wasn't sure why he was even doing this, it wasn't like he really needed to train with a pistol, but as if he was on autopilot he loaded the gun and got ready to shoot. Taking aim at the dummy's head, looking at the easiest target ever, considering the distance he was away. When he aimed at the dummy however he froze. All he could picture was the gaunt creature, terrifying and horrible, as it crawled it's way towards him. It's mouth gnashed with horrifying rows of razor sharp teeth, it's shriek filled his ears. Ozymandius found himself quietly frozen, gun shaking as he aimed aimed at the target.

Almeida

Almeida was on time, yay~ She wasn't exactly exited, but she realised that at least now she'd learn something new, hopefully. The first thing she learned was 'I can sleep in or work on other stuff during the mornings, great~' The next thing she witnessed was the transformation. 'How fancy.' They got the task to do the same, but something about just declaring 'transform' was surprisingly award. 'I'm really too old for this...'

She sighed. 'Well, here goes nothing.' "Transform!"

3TUYajn.png

Although the result was... lacking, at least compared to the full transformation others went through, there was at least a visible difference. Almeida had heard about and seen transformations before, but she hadn't been in one before. It felt surprisingly neat, making her want to smash stuff. Next up they brought weapons, but she didn't want to cheat on poor Valerius, so she ignored it. She only glanced at what was going on when she heard her name, but realised it was just to disregard her as someone in need of a weapon.

Next up, some dummies were raised up into the room. "Now there's the fun stuff~" She'd been eager to give Valerius some good test-runs. She barely had the patience to wait before the mechanisms and systems were done doing what they did before bringing Valerius down upon one of the dummies with the hammer-side. Next, she tried a slash with the pick-axe/bladed side, then a stab with the spear at the other end of the weapon. It felt quite versatile and natural, despite the large size. "Neat."

Having made the test-swings, she took a look around to see what the kids were up too. The red-haired twerp was punching a dummy, Ozy was shooting one, Elisa was... What in the world is that?" She asked aloud to nobody in particular, as she headed over to Elisa.

As she'd try to put a hand on Elisa's shoulder, she realized the kid was freezing. "Hey, are you alright?" She didn't look alright, but she kind-off acted alright. It was odd to say the least.

In a huff and puff, sweating slightly and having come from a bit of a rush Lavi arrived a few minutes before Professor Okamoto would arrive. In a hurry she would start to move towards where most of the other students were, but repeatedly looked back for a few seconds in an unsure fashion. Aah she really doesn't like to rush herself, I hope the teacher won't mind it. Though on her mind she decided to divert her attention to the teacher solely once she did arrive.

There was a level of being impressed, yet with the nervousness that was on her mind it didn't really come out that way as she watched her transform. Watching everybody else transforming she felt she began to stand out more and more as stood there. Eventually the sound of hooves slowly walking up to near the gymnasium door, as it opened and a pretty similar description Lavi had given Almeida showed up.

The appearance of Phoebe was that of a deer with a feminine physique, similar to any doe. Yet they had traits which were less feminine in the case of deer, with the horns of a stag though slightly more uncanny and strange in shape and a fur mane which caressed around their neck. Yet also showed definite features which made their spiritual nature apparent, the color of which their appearance was, the horse like tail that swayed slightly, the flowers made out of mana adorning her, a visage of twigs like a small crown, the odd winged shape of her ears and the crest upon her forehead.

''Excuse me for my shameful behavior of having come later then wished for, it may be rude to ask but I hope my late entry would be allowed. I had been in a comfortable slumber up until a few minutes ago.'' Likely to be given permission, she would nonetheless wait for the answer before she would slowly walk over to Lavi. She is... she is finally here. As her face relaxed more genuinely. ''Ssh. It's alright. I do think I understand the situation that you seem to be in.''

Phoebe would look towards professor Okamoto. Seeming she wished to progress the class further, she simply awaited till she was done so far with her explanation. Signalling her if she approached before such by the shaking of her head to continue what she may be doing at this moment. But whether or not she would listen, the introduction would remain. ''It is my pleasure to acquaintance with thee. I presume you are her homeroom teacher? Phoebe is my name, though I also presume you already have read of such.''

Despite leaving the classroom together, Ryan decided to leave Elisa be. He had already screwed up bad with her. He didn't want to make it worse, if that was even possible. Ryan wasn't particularly hungry himself, so he settled with a bottle of apple juice, which he drank as he made his way to the gym. He arrived too early, so Ryan didn't enter yet. He opted to sit under the shade of a nearby tree while leaning his back on it. Time passed, and all Ryan could think of was Elisa. Why did she react in such a way to an innocent sentence like the one he told her? What happened to her before coming here? Such questions brought back the ones that surged right when she panicked... but no answer.
Time passed, and Ryan was still stumped. He decided to enter the Gym, hopefully they will be put to do some physical activity that would steer his mind off the guilt weighing him. Upon checking the time in a clock inside the building, Ryan noticed he was on time. He leaned against a random spot on a wall and waited silently for class to begin.
Eventually, Miss Okamoto arrived. After some introductory words, the teacher demonstrated the task at hand: transformation. Ryan was amazed when she looked at the process with his own eyes, sure, he read about it and other people told him about it, but it was something else to be looking at it. All he could think of, once he was instructed to transform, was "Is it really that easy?" Sure enough, Ryan closed his eyes and focused on his inner pool of prana, took a few deep breaths, and then... "Transform!" A bright flash of light enveloped him. Once the light faded, it was clear that he did it. His skin turned lighter than usual and his hair turned black, while his outfit changed to a black one that had lines of white light highlighting all the details and the inside of it. He was also wearing what looked like a blindfold, but was more of a visor, as it didn't hinder Ryan's sight at all. Ryan checked what the teacher told them about being enhanced, and once again, Ryan found out that was spot on as well. Moving around he certainly felt lighter, yet stronger "Whoa..."
Ryan stopped his testing once his teacher called for them, introducing another teacher briefly, which Ryan acknowledged by bowing just as he did. Then the doors of the large container Mister Batori brought opened, showing a very varied arsenal. While Ryan was trained by his dad on how to shoot some firearms, he preferred closer combat, but he was not particularly trained with any weapons. It was then when he noticed the pair of metal boots. "This will do for now..." he thought, as Miss Okamoto told them to practice with the dummies for a while.
With the boots on, Ryan headed for one of the dummies and kicked away. Trying several types of kicks at different angles, mixing it up with some knee strikes as well. A couple of minutes in, he noticed Elisa's strange comment, told to nobody in particular. It was unsettling to a degree, though not as much as her sudden transformation. Ryan took a step in her direction, opening his mouth to talk, but he stopped himself. He wasn't really sure on what was going on with her, he wanted to help her, but he didn't know how. Hell, at this point, Ryan wasn't even sure if she actually needed help. Her constant deconstructing/constructing face was very hard to read. Ryan considered approaching her, but Almeida was already on it, and she was an adult, certainly she would calm her if necessary. Defeated, Ryan turned back to his dummy, but now was lacking the mood to continue with his kicks.

Professor Okamoto
gsaKz4R.jpg

Class was... actually proceeding surprisingly smoothly. Sure, Londo was obviously fishing for attention, but nobody else was particularly causing trouble. Even if Almeida still didn't approve of the class, at least she wasn't vocalizing her complaints right now.

At some undefined point, a Spirit approached the Gymnasium and requested entry. Professor Okamoto may not have personally known the Spirit, but there also wasn't any reason to suspect the Spirit might be up to no good or anything like that, so she had no issues with opening up the door and allowing the Spirit to enter. Given that the Spirit walked right over to Lavi Fluer, it was probable that the two were bonded. When the time for introductions came, Professor Okamoto would give a small bow towards Phoebe as she spoke. "I am Professor Yuki Okamoto. Indeed, I am her homeroom teacher for the time being. I look forward to working with the both of you."

There was no need or particular desire for questioning or small talk on Professor Okamoto's side, so she would let the conversation die there (unless Phoebe continued) and focus on watching the students' actions. Lavi had yet to Transform. Had Phoebe not been present, then Professor Okamoto might've tried to intervene, but as it was, she would let Phoebe handle the issue for now. Elisa had also not Transformed yet, though not, presumably, through lack of trying. Regrettable though that was, Professor Okamoto had no suggestions on how to facilitate Transformations and thus couldn't really help besides offer half-hearted words of encouragement, which would probably do more harm than good.

Everyone else seemed to be doing fine, thankfully. Londo was as zealous as ever; that was the polite way to put it. Ozymandius had Transformed into a military uniform and picked out a handgun for himself from the available arsenal, though he seemed to have trouble working up the nerve to actually pull the trigger. Oh great, he has PTSD. Isn't there anyone in this who's just normal? Well, at least there was Ry- what the hell kind of Transformation was that? Who's bright idea was it to include a blindfold as part of the Transformation? And jeez, couldn't they have taken it easier on the black? Yuki was well aware that neither question would have a satisfactory answer, but she couldn't help but think of them still. Almeida's Transformation was, wait, did she even Transform? Hmm. Yes, there it was, the color scheme of her clothes was slightly different.

As Professor Okamoto was watching some of the students though, she didn't notice what was happening with Elisa at first. Then, when she happened to look Elisa's way, her right hand instantly flew to a katana and drew it in a split second. She may not have known what was happening there, but every instinct in her screamed out that it was unnatural. However, nothing about Elisa's actions contained obvious hostility, so Professor Okamoto didn't make any further aggressive moves herself. "Ragan," she said quietly to the man beside her as Elisa approached the array of weapons, leaving a shattered apple behind on the floor.

"Yes, I'll go inform him," Professor Batori replied before making for the exit and leaving the area, disabling and reenabling the door barrier as he did.

As he left, Professor Okamoto moved closer to Elisa, sheathing the katana as she went. She would stop about three meters away and address Elisa with bewilderment clear in her voice. "You, what on earth happened to you?" If she was honest, the question was slightly rhetorical; Elisa had seemed surprised to be told she was an anomaly and such, so it was unlikely that Elisa would actually know a clear answer, but it never hurt to ask. Plus, it allowed Professor Okamoto to buy a bit of time to think up a next step.

Elisa

Other than the phasing nature of her body, her shoulder was relatively normal.

Elisa replied to Almeida. "I'm fine." She had been too thick to understand that things were out of the normal. And it was probably for the best. Given the nature of weapon cache, someone drawing a weapon did not strike too weird to her. Well not until the teacher approached her and demanded an answer.

Elisa would look at Okamoto: "I transformed..? Isn't that a good thing. The point of the exercise was to transform? It was very hard. I had to visualize mana the way you taught and then completely surrender to it. Not mind the pain. It doesn't hurt now so I think it's all good." Elisa lifted her hands and stared at them, they were constantly flickering.

"It's pretty too. I find mirrors soothing and it makes me feel safe." Elisa would look at the weapons cache: "I don't think I can use a weapon. Almost makes me feel like a ghost. Is this a ghost transformation? That would sound pretty cool. Should I test, if I can walk through walls?"

Almeida

Almeida noticed a spirit walk in that just about fitted the description of 'Phoebe' perfectly, but she was a little too worried about Elisa starting to glitch in and out of existence to go say hello.

When the teacher pulled her sword, however, Almeida was even on higher alert. After all, if the teacher was drawing her weapon, there probably was a reason to do so, and if there wasn't, Almeida had only more reasons to be on alert, such as to stop said teacher.

Oddly enough, Elisa claimed to be 'fine' and acted as if nothing odd was going on. Considering the teacher seemed more eager to kill the kid than to inform her, Almeida figured she'd take on the role herself. "I'm not sure how to bring it to you, but your transformation is pretty out of the ordinary. You've even scared our poor teacher with it." As Almeida said it, she'd give an almost pitiful look towards Okamoto. "So you may want to take it easy, before trying to go through walls. You wouldn't want to get stuck inside of one, after all." Almeida said with a smile, hoping to lighten up things a bit.
