This is a sci-fi/fantasy RP. The Players are young Mages who have been brought to the Academy in order to develop their magical talent and protect their city. They will fight monsters that roam in the wilderness, investigate nefarious plots against King and Country, and so on. But that is all in their future. For now, after a bit of general plot setup, let us have the characters meet up, get to know one another, etc. We can feed them to monsters later.

The plot so far:
The students meet their teacher, Professor Yuki Okamoto, and have their first few days of instruction.

About a week into their Academy life, they are unexpectedly sent out on a mission to investigate the town of Normaden. They learn that a Witch, a powerful monster that sometimes grows from humans with magical potential, has developed in the region. Their Professor takes on the role of exterminating the Witch itself, leaving the students to handle some of its Familiars. During the students' fight, though, they are unexpectedly brought face to face with an Angel. After a fierce fight, the students are victorious and return to their homes safely.

Back in Uruk, the plots grow thicker. A massive force of Angels has gathered near Babylon, and the head honchos discuss plans of how to deal with the threat. The Academy's Headmaster learns that the Angel that the students encountered was sent by the Chief of the Galileians. What could Chief Herschel be plotting, and why involve these young Mages?

Completely unaware of these plots, the students are assigned another mission: to resolve an incident over who should possess a valuable research subject. They will be escorted and monitored by Essence Parker, one of the academy's Student Council members...

Elisa would halt on her climb and instead get towards the captain. She scrambled her green satchel for a bit before handing out a small handful of screws and bolts: "Right, I did find these. Some of them were at very tight places. I had to transform to get to them. Sorry should've probably told you before I grabbed them. I forgot." She gave a bright smile at the captain before continuing on her quest to climb on top of the airship's roof and enjoy her lunch.

After a while, she would type to the group chat: We have a pile of rocks here. And a piece of metal. A bit of boring. Though it is bit strange. The rocks are only at one place, and it doesn't seem to add up to the way how the surroundings of this place are. Let me take a few pictures real quick... Did anyone else have more luck?'

Elisa used her explorer module to take a few pictures from her vantage point.

So the easiest path was the one that Ryan went down from. Mentally storing all this information, Suilen snapped out of her sensory connection with her bird, before noting it down on her own holographic maps. At this distance, the hull did shine noticeably bright, but a shiny object was merely a curiousity, rather than a certainty of anything more interesting. Definitely would have made sense that they'd go further down to explore or investigate, but it would have been the Gallileans that had the special devices necessary for ascertaining what it was from far away, no? Unless Walahfrid was transformed during that time, of course. Suilen narrowed her eyes further, then hopped onto her feet.

Walahfrid was attacked by Themistocles. Themistocles would have been able to ascertain the value of the shiny object from a distance through gear that he should have had on hand. Did he have it on hand? Did he realize the value of what they saw before they got closer? Where did the attack happen, anyways? Ugh, mysteries weren't nearly as fun as just looking around, huh.

"Ryan," Suilen called from her AMB, "Attack site?"

As she spoke, the girl switched to group chat as well, sending a quick query to Lavi and Hibiscus.
List of stuff Themistocles had on him?

"Very well," Ozymandius replied and took the information. He'd peer at it on the way anywhere else. "We'll talk to you soon one way or another. Have a good day." He didn't stick around, showing himself out, expecting Londo and Rainer to follow. Once he was out of the home he made his way to their mode of transportation and then sent a message to the group chat. "This is the info we got from Walahfrid. Pick through it when you can. Her story seemed pretty solid but, who knows?" He then uploaded the recording, messages, and contact info to the group chat so they could all pick through it. "I also included the contact info for the other expedition members too."

Londo obidiently listened to Ozy when they left, and he did so along with him, "See ya!"

As they walked, Londo looked through the stuff Ozy linked, and Londo smirked, "Silly Ozy! There was a huge piece of evidence you missed! Ahn contridicted herself when she was talking! You seemed to have missed it! I caught it, and I'm pretty sure the dog did too right? I told you I am good at detective stuff!"

Londo texted a certain someone something, telling them to hurry up and meet them.... Where exactly?

Londo nodded upwards to the dog, "Yoooo, where're we supposed to meet at to talk about the evidence?"

It seems the talks were coming to an end, so Rainer decided to do what he must. There was 1 thing that Ahn said that certainly raised some eyebrows, well Rainer's eyebrows anyways. He knew what this situation meant. As Ozy and Londo were doing their thing, Rainer took a piece of paper and a pen on the table and wrote his AMB number on it. He then got up from his seat, walked over to Ahn and gave her the note. "Call me sometime, I'd love to have a talk with you sometime." Rainer said with the most "pleasant" smile he could possibly make, which most likely looked like his usual smile, just... to the fifth power. He most certainly had to introduce her to the wonderous Goddess known as Atziri!

After handing her note, he proceeded to leave along with the rest of the crew. After leaving the residence he'd pick up his bunny bag and continue on his merry way with the others.

Ryan's inspection of the area managed to provide some information. Most notably, the place where he believed the attack happened. He decided to leave it as is for now, but did take a couple of notes on his phone regarding his discovery, as well as a couple of pictures of it from different angles, making sure the blood and heavy footprints were visible.
With that done, for now, he resumed his search. Which lead him to find small pieces of plastic.Once again, Ryan took pictures from several angles, highlighting the plastic pieces splattered on the bushes. "M-Miss Essence. May I... Take one of these pieces of plastic? Y-you know... In case these pieces can be li... Linked to the case" he asked Essence. In case he had gotten too far from her, he would return to her and show Essence the pictures of the fragments. If she allowed it, Ryan would use Kashmir's gloved hand to pick up one of the bigger pieces and pocketed it. If not, he'd carry on.
As his rounds were getting closer and closer to the ship, especially after finding where the attack occurred, he'd be even more focused on finding more tracks. Suilen called him up, and he quickly answered "O-over there... I think that's it" as he pointed towards the place. He then resumed his chase for more evidence like he had been doing, slightly past from where they landed.
At that point, he had found everything he could find, or so he hoped. With that in mind, he walked back to the ship, waiting to see if Suilen had better luck or not.

Captain Falcon Hawks

Falcon nodded, as he got back the screws and bolts. "No problem, I'm overdue buying some spare ones anyhow, so it's a good reminder." Truth be told, he was overdue buying a lot of stuff to keep his airship 'up' and running. Well, it didn't matter, for now they'd still have a good enough chance to make it back to Uruk, once these bolts and screws were back in place.

Essence Parker

Considering Essence was still up on the overhanging rock, Ryan would make his way over to her to ask his question. Rather than forcing Ryan to climb his way up, she'd climb down upon noticing his approach. After looking at the picture, she spoke up. "You can bring them all, in case we'd need to check what they might have broken off of. Just make sure to note down where you found them." Although she told Ryan to take it, she herself headed over as well, taking a look at the scene. She didn't comment on anything, but she did look back and forth from the hull to this location a few times, and from the direction of their airship towards this location, seemingly deep in thought. After a while, she seemed to have drawn her own conclusions, and headed back towards the ship. Considering Ryan's additional searching wasn't granting him any new finds, he'd soon return as well.

Ahn Walahfrid

Ahn said her goodbyes to Ozymandius and Londo, although the creepy kid managed to send a chill down her spine a final time. She'd wave the three of them goodbye, before burning the note once they were out of the gates. She had survived her years at the academy with her sanity (mostly) intact by avoiding types like him, so she wasn't going to start dealing with them now.

Stanley Barker

Truth be told, there was more than one thing that Stanley doubted about what Ahn had told them, but it was up to the kids (and Ozymandius) to figure it out. Besides, comparing her story with that of Ewald and with what they would have been found at the Crime Scene was what'd give them the most viable clues. They'd have to meet up for that though, which the kid seemed to realize on is own. "The easiest option is to go back to the classroom. It'll take a while for the group that went to the crime scene to return though." Whether they wanted to spent that time trying to find out a bit more info, or whether they wanted to just laze around, was up to them.

However, the moment the kid picked his back-up up again, Stanley was once again forced to deal with the smell. "Kid, you seriously shouldn't be carrying around a dead animal like that." At this rate, he might have to deal with the kid being kicked out of public transport. It was surprising that hadn't happened on their way here, for that matter.

[OOC: If anyone wants to contact the other expedition members or other involved NPC's, you can add a message to them in your posts. They're mostly there to fact-check things that were said and/or to answer simple questions, so don't expect detailed subplots or more NPC's to interview. Among the list Ozy shares would be two airship pilots, a logistics manager, the Galilean's team whom built and maintained the equipment used to locate the crash site, a few mages serving as security and some general administrative staff.]

@LondotheGreat Hibiscus

Ewald Themistocles

Ewald wasn't exactly gaining confidence after hearing Hibiscus ramble, as he feared he'd soon have to deal with an actual investigation at this rate. Well, there was little to do about it. "You're welcome." After shaking his hand, he'd ask; "Wait up a bit, I'll ask for the secretary to come and show you out." The combination of the place being a labyrinth and the place containing off-limit areas was enough to warrant an escort through the building. After being lead out of the building by the same secretary that had previously lead them through it, Hibiscus would get a chance at asking Ruya the question.

Ruya Proudfeather

"Yes." Ruya didn't need much time to answer Hibiscus' question. After a short moment, she realized her answer might sound a bit more mean than intended, so she'd add a more positive note to it. "Don't worry though, you made him say enough of interest. It seems like your inexperience made him lower his guard a bit, so it'd be interesting to compare his version of the events with Ahn's, and to match it up with what the others found at the Crime Scene."

Hibiscus was silent for the most part on the way back to the school. However, when Hibiscus, Ruya, and Lyka finally arrived back at the school, Hibiscus spoke up, "S-Sorry for asking so late, but I realized I never asked where you know Essence from. I-I mean, how did you become paired with her? Did she find your spirit orb, or did you two meet some other way?... I don't really know how most people meet their spirits..."

"Haha YEAA!" Lyka yelled from Hibiscus's pockets, "I met Hibby because she's a clutz and fell into some rose bushes!"

"D-Don't be mean Lyka!" Hibiscus said, walking into the classroom as her face grew red. It seemed noone else was here, so it was probably for the best that Hibiscus have small talk with Ruya for now.

It seemed like noone else noticed the fatal flaw that Ahn had made, so Londo made a huge smirk on the way back to school. His intelligence really was superior!

Although, maybe the dog figured it out, but was staying silent to let Londo have the full amount of glory!

Londo laughed, then reached his hand out to the dog while they were travelling back to the school, "Hahaha! You seem like a smart dog! Maybe I'll let you be a follower of mine once I attain God status!~" Londo said, petting the dog despite knowing the dog said not to.

Back at the academy, with presumably bite marks in his hand, Londo made his way to the classroom, "Oh man I can't wait to discuss all this evidence! The case close is so close, I can almost SMELL it!" Londo said, getting to the classroom, seeing Hibby there, and waving a hand in greeting, "Yo! How'd your thing go Hibby?"

Suilen frowned when the message didn't go through. Sorta expected, but well, still disappointing.

At least Ryan had the courtesy of being useful. Marking down the location the red-head pointed out, Suilen measured the distance briefly, before striding on over to the area. Her bird had served its purpose, and now just flew overhead, enjoying its moment out on the sun as its wingless master mucked around in the dirt. Upon getting to the attack site, Suilen turned her eyes towards the Lacertan ship hull once more, gauging how easily one could determine its importance at such a distance with their naked eye. Took her a while, and her conclusions weren't exactly well-formed, but she was satisfied at least. Her smartphone slipped out from her pockets once more, and the girl wheeled around to take a panoramic picture of the entire scene, before heading back to the Gravity Denier.

Themistocles probably tried to get a jump on Walahfrid, huh? Probably recognized the value of the Lacertan hull before she did, and wanted to strike before she realized it was more than just a shiny bit of metal. Probably took some time to work up his murderous courage, and then, when his stab wasn't immediately fatal, pussied out like a little rat? Hah, nerd.

That was how Suilen was feeling, at least. But like all detectives, she wouldn't be pointing fingers until after the other 2/3rds of their investigative info came in.

"Ah, I'll definitely get her...." Rainer said silently to himself as they were going back, recalling the events that transpired earlier. Truly, this was fate. I mean, from how this day had gone, he'd more than assumed people would've just torn up his note or rejected it, but she accepted it! She was without a doubt fit to be a follower of Atziri! Pretty, kind, smart, all the best qualities! She even taught him new things during this mission thing, like the word "fucker". He made sure to engrave her into his memory, as well as this location for future visits.

The doggy decided to talk to him... telling him... something absolutely horrid. In the first place, it also proved how innocent this doggy was, he didn't even know what a dead animal looked like. Ah, so pure! "Listen, doggy, this isn't a dead animal, it's a stuffed bunny and my wand! I can't just leave it!" While saying that he removed the bunny's eyepatch, which revealed a torn hole, after which he proceeded to take his spirit's core and stuff it into the bunny nearly shoulder deep.

Once they came back to the classroom, there were a bunch of people there, including the bully from before, he should try to avo- BIRDY! There was a birdy! The flying thingy! The moment he saw the birdy, he slowly and very menacingly walked over to the birdy, his breaths becoming shorter, while smiling, hoping to pet it.

Essence Parker

Essence had seen all she wanted to see in this area, and it seemed like the kids had fished up their investigation as well. Well, it seemed like Elisa never really even started it, but the other two had done a fine job. "Alright, it's time to move back." She announced, as she made her way to the ship gathering up the kids if needed. Once everyone was inside, she double-checked with Falcon. "Did you manage to fix everything?"

Captain Falcon Hawks

Falcon laughed at Essence's comment. "Of course, I always do~" He then glossed over to the kids. "Same rules as before!" They probably remembered them, and if not... Well, with some luck Essence would call out if they did something stupid. If Suilen was still interested in hearing one of his stories, he'd tell her about the time they defeated that crazy spirit that started storms. The general gist of it was the the spirit was tactically retreating towards the sea, as they weren't able to attack it from the land, and the storms made it very difficult to fly in. His ship was chosen as one of the few ships of a correct size and engine to try braving it, so he and a small team of mages set out to bring the spirit down. The main role in the story was for some pretty strong air-magic using guy with blond hair and green eyes, whom seemed to stare a bit too much on the up-and-coming new professor whom was a powerhouse on her own. There was also a kid from the Student Council involved, whom had pretty colorful magic with beams and shields and whatnot, whom had decided to chain herself to the roof of the ship to back-up both professors. It was Falcon's job to keep flying through the storm to avoid the spirit's attacks while the others attacked it. Although he told his story in colorful detail, for as far as the things he had seen from within the airship, added with some imagination about what must've happened outside of it, he wasn't the best story-teller as not all of it was comprehensible and he had already forgotten the names of the main people involved. All in all, he cared more about being on an adventure than he cared about talking about them.

Stanley realized he had sunken his teeth into the kid's hand moments after he had instinctively bitten him. He hadn't bitten hard enough to draw blood, luckily, but it was still a bit unprofessional. Then again, he did warn the kid. "Hands off. Next time I won't stop myself from biting through." Being unprofessional was warranted here, he decided.

As for the other kid... "If it isn't a dead animal, it shouldn't smell like one. Did you soak that thing in blood or something? At the very least you should wash it. People are going to avoid you if you smell like a dead animal, or worse, they'll arrest you for it." Luckily enough, the latter didn't happen on their way back to the Academy. It didn't take long for them to find their way back to the classroom.

Ruya Proudfeather
@LondotheGreat Hibiscus

Ruya was a bit surprised by Hibiscus' sudden question, but it was a welcome one. After all, Ruya quite liked to brag about this story. "Ah, that's quite the story~ She actually saved a lot of my flock. I used to be part of the greatest flock of bird-like spirits to have ever adorned the sky. We were quite the majestic sight to behold, I'll tell you. However, one day, a lot of us suddenly started getting sick. At first, we didn't think much of it, but the disease spread incredibly fast and started getting very serious. Within a week, the first of us started to die from it, and we were worried that it would start annihilating our entire flock. Although it pained us to do so, we eventually had to ask other spirits, gods and even humans for their help. The first to respond to our pleas was Essence. She said she'd already had her suspicions about what was going on with our flock. She went around the entire area that we covered during our flights, which is pretty crazy for a human, being flightless and all that, but she did it. She eventually found out that mining activities had activated an ancient curse that corrupted the mana in the area, which in turn made us spirits fall pray to that disease. However, that wasn't the end of it, as the humans were trying to cover it up and wipe it under the rug, rather than trying to sort things out. If it wasn't for Essence's persistence and eh..." Ruya suddenly stopped in the middle of her story, trying to find the words. "...willingness to take action where the law didn't always want to do so... We'd have probably all been wiped out. I've never thought that someone flightless could do such a thing, with that persistence, so I figured that if I were to join her to make up for what she lacked in her flightlessness, we'd be an unbeatable team. That's why I bonded with her." [OOC: Ruya's biography is updated.]

Soon after Ruya finished her story, they entered the classroom.

Essence Parker

Once most of the students (hopefully all) had gathered, Essence figured she'd give them a little bit of a direction. "Alright, I suggest you all share your findings, and that you find out where the different stories and found evidence do or don't match up. If you need to find out any other information, ask me and I'll see if I can obtain it. After that, you can see if it's possible to come up with a theory on what might have occurred, and if you have one, you can state it to see if others can back it up or refute it."

Kerr Underground

Not long after she finished, Kerr figured being in spirit core form was getting too boring. Instead, he looked around to see if he could find that funny fairy from before. If he spotted her, he'd greet her with an ""Oi, Fairy, how's the rebellion going?!?"

Ruya Proudfeather

Ruya, in the meantime, had bigger issues to worry about. The creepy kid had his eyes on her, and she didn't like it one bit. "Can someone keep this smelling creep away from me?" She said, as she flied over to the other side of the room. She wasn't interested in dealing with this case in the slightest, as she didn't like people touching her in general. It messed up her feathers. Having someone smelling badly and looking creepy coming at her only made it all the more bad.

Stanley Barker

Stanly, last but not least, was sitting down a fair distance from the kid that had kept trying to harass him. Otherwise, he remained silent and simply observed.

It was amazing how Essence solved an entire case like that, "W-Wow..." Hibiscus said in awe in response to Ruya's backstory, "I hope I can be able to help an entire group like she can too..." Hibiscus said, but her inner thoughts were interupted by Londo adressing her, "O-Oh. Hi! I-I think it went ok. Ruya said it did anyways. It might have gone better if Lavi was there..." While Lyka groaned, and excited her core to avoid having to listen to Londo speak.

"Oh, bye Lyka?... Anyways, how did yours go?"

"WELL!-" Londo started, but then other people started to enter the classroom, including the absent Lavi, "Oh hey look there she is!" Londo said, calling out to her, while Hibiscus learned the move mean look, "L-Lavi! H-How could you leave me to do that all by myself?!"

While Hibiscus was getting mad at Lavi, Lyka found herself a companion to talk to, the mole guy who sought her out, "Heeeeyy, it's the mole guy! WASSUP?! My rebellion is going good. Me and Hibby had a bit of the good cop/bad cop shit going on! That was fucking awesome! Woulda been better if Hibby knew more about detective work! Speaking of which, how'd you go? Do you do the bad cop shit with Essence or do you do a whole other ballpark with her? How'd a down to earth mole like you even start working with such a strict girl?" Lyka said, wanting to pass the time while everyone arrived.

After everything happened, Hibiscus calmed down, then went to the front of the classroom, beckoning Lyka to come over as well, which she did, although reluctantly. Hibiscus addressed the class, "I-I think I'll go first with what we found with Ewald Themistocles. L-Lavi wasn't there..." Hibiscus said, staring at her, while Lyka gave Lavi the finger behind Hibby's back, "S-So it was just me, Lyka, and Ruya. His version of the story was this: He found the ship first, and was calling it in just as Ahn arrived. They had gone on the mission together that had just recalled where the important area was. Ewald found the ship, then as he went to grab his phone to report it, Ahn attacked him, rushing at him in an attempt to stop him." Hibiscus said, reading more from her notes, "Ewald brought out his knife to defend himself, but Ahn rushed him again, surprising him and grabbing the knife from him, stabbing herself with it. She wanted to make it look like Ewald had attacked her. Although Ewald said she could have transformed to stop him, she did not, and that he would be stupid to even try attacking her, since using her magic would defeat Ewald easily. She got mad at Ewald, and started yelling at him until the others from the staff found them. Ewald believes that the Thaumaturgical Society would just destroy the object they found using magic to try and research it, but that would destroy it in the process. His motivation was that he did not want them to destroy the hull, and that if it had been the entire spaceship, he would have shared the discovery with them." Hibiscus said, looking back up from her notes and instantly getting embarrassed, "I-I-If I missed anything Ruya, p-please tell them..." Hibiscus said, pouting as she made her way back to her seat with Lyka riding her head.

Hibiscus hoped she hadn't missed anything, and she felt really embarrassed talking in front of the class like that. Fortunately, she had been able to read from the notes without stuttering, but if she had been looking at the class while doing it, she definitely would have.

Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be any sign of his teammates at the moment, so Londo stood up and went to the front, "Rejoice! Londo Sperry, the Great!, is here now to share the info me, Ozy, and Rainer have recieved from Ahn Walahfrid!" Londo smirked and crossed his arms, "The info SHE gave us was a bit on the suspicious side! She also said she found the ship before Ewald. To be exact, she and Ewald went off on their own to explore the 'actual' crash site." Londo said, air-quoting 'actual', "Ahn said her signs hadn't shown anything in the area, so they went there to where they figured the actual crash site was. Ahn said she spotted a glimmer and went to go see that she found the ship! Then Ewald suddenly attacked with his knife, trying to stab her! She managed to transform before he could finish the job! When she transformed, he stopped attacking because you don't bring a knife to a gun fight, so now Ahn had the upper hand! She said she got her injury healed or something so now she doesn't have a scar on her arm, but that doesn't matter I guess! Next, she did something so horrible that I am even afraid to say it out loud..." Londo said, leaving a pause for dramatic effect, "She said she doesn't worship any gods! How horrible is that? They provide much needed glory and whatnot, and I'd be mad at her if she didn't worship me because I would be much more powerful than her! Anyways, Ahn said they only knew each other a few months back, AND well..."

Oh shoot, Londo realized just right now, he had never actually seen Ahn's power. Oops. She was definitely a crafty one for sure, dodging all the questions!

Londo shrugged, "Well that's pretty much it! I would have asked more questions, but Ozy thought we asked enough. Personally, I wanted to know her mage power, and her motivations too! She didn't say anything about those! Well, that's a bust, hope you guys found out more!" Londo said, pointing to those who went out of town if they were actually here.

"Mm."

That was some nice information. Sitting on her desk and swinging her legs back and forth, Suilen rested her chin on Drafi's feathery skull as she listened to Hibiscus and Londo recount their interviews. There was a donut there, for sure, and all they needed to do was to fill the hole with something tasty, like strawberry jam or custard. Something like...

"Here's the coordinates of the attack." With a flick upon her AMB, she sent the map data to the group. "Also coordinates of the hull. Here's the path we took, which they've most likely taken as well. It's hard to determine what the hull is from a distance. You need equipment, or magical power. Walahfrid didn't transform until after the attack, or so they say, but Themistocles may have equipment." Her eyes met Hibiscus's. "What equipment did he have?"

A brief pause, and then Suilen pointed her foot towards Ryan.

"He checked out the site itself. Speak."

Finding no more use in trying to track more clues, Ryan went back to the ship. Once again, he kept to himself during the whole trip back.
Back at the Academy, Ryan followed Suilen and Essence back to the classroom. With Kashmir still summoned. He took deep breaths, as if meditating. He knew that he would need to talk once everyone came back together. He had a couple of hours to mentally prepare, so he should do fine... Hopefully.
Once at the classroom, everyone was already there. Not too surprising since the other groups didn't have to travel for hours. Essence encouraged them to share their information. Hibiscus was up first, calling out Lavi for not joining, though as far as he could see, she barely acknowledged it. It was weird to see Lavi's new demeanor, quite contrasting to how she was just days ago. Regardless, Ryan quickly focused back on the information Hibiscus got. Next was Londo, who did the same.
Ryan took some mental notes of the previous speeches while Suilen gave details on their end. It was then that Suilen transitioned the conversation to him. For an instant, Ryan had a look of a deer in the headlights. But he was quick to bounce back, as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath while standing up, heading for a more central desk to show what he had gathered. Okay... so he started, while Kashmir pulled all the pieces of plastic he found and layed them on the desk in front of him "... I was able to find two things... First" he pulled out his phone and went to the gallery "What you see t-there is most likely the... place, where the attack happened" Ryan said, as he showed the pictures of the footprints and the dried blood, including one he took with his hand in the picture for size comparison. "The prints looked like someone... someone with big combat boots braced itself there" Ryan would pause briefly, both to steady himself and to allow for everyone to take a good look at the pictures. "Then, there's this" Ryan commented as he pointed towards the desk. "Plastic pieces... I don't really know what they... might be a part of, but they were too close to the attack place t-to overlook them" he would also show the pictures of where he found the plastic. "A-And that's all the suspicious things I could find..." with that said, Ryan backed off from the center of the group.

"Supports Themistocles's story," Suilen said, lifting her head off Drafi once Ryan said his piece. "Footprints for bracing against charge, and he's more likely to find it first with Gallilean tech. Plastic pieces can be analyzed. Maybe the phone broke when Walahfrid charged him."

Her legs continued to swing back and forth. She brushed a strand of hair out of her eyes, then frowned.

"Walahfrid's actions are stupid though. Attacking without transforming? Researchers should be smarter than that. Thoughts?"

Essence Parker

Ruya Proudfeather

Ruya was pretty happy with Hibby's praise of Essence, so she was in a good enough mood to help Hibby out a little. "Ewald almost immediately stressed that it was common for someone to call in an object of interest immediately after finding it, which seemed a bit odd." Essence nodded. "It is, as it is likely to be common among the departments of the Galilean's, but the Thaumaturgical Society is likely to have different rules."

Stanley Barker

Londo's retelling of the events made Stanley sigh a bit. Should they have told these kids not to be afraid to press certain questions? From what he heard, both teams had mostly avoided confronting their target with some of the tougher questions or contradictions, and although Essence had told them to keep each-other up to date at the start, they hadn't exchanged information during their interviews, so they hadn't been able to confront Ewald and Ahn with the contradictions in their statements either. Well, they were just kids, and this was their first mission of this kind, so it was already a good thing they had gathered as much information as they had. They just needed a little bit of guidance to order it, which is what Ruya and Essence seemed to have decided on doing. Stanley figured he might as well join them. "It's not a stretch to think her motivations are similar to Ewald's. She likely believes that her own research is more useful or or more important than what the Galilean's would be able to achieve with the hull. It seems like the main reason this drama started is the fact that the amount of material to research was a lot less than they expected, meaning that neither of them were willing to share it."

Upon Suilen's mention of equipment, Essence looked at Ruya, whom shook her head. Considering the information was relevant, Essence figured they'd need another way to obtain it. "Did one of you manage to obtain the list of expedition members, by any chance?" Considering they had, and assuming they'd share it with Essence (whom wouldn't be in the group chat), she'd soon set to work. After a few messages back and forward, using her reputation and contacts to get through to the right people, she had her answer. "It seems like the device they brought along to scan the area was too big to carry around, so none of Ewald's portable equipment would've been able to correctly find and identify the hull. Oh, and on a side-note, it seems the first errors in scanning the area were due to the machine picking up a rich natural iron vein, rather than the fragment of the hull. They only got a result after they estimated a new area for the crash site, but it was a lot smaller than expected, which is why they didn't bring the entire crew to check it out, as they expected it to be another fluke."

All in all, it seemed like Suilen was well on her way towards forming a theory. With the additional information, they should be able to revise some points and expand on the rest. The only member of 'team Essence' that wasn't trying to help out in their own way was Kerr...

Kerr Underground

Truth be told, Kerr's mood quickly switched to 'dafuq is this bullshit' when the Fairy kept talking. The start was neat, but after that she acted as if she'd been a good girl working hard to solve this case. Where was that fun fuck-the-system attitude at all of a sudden? "Sounds like you've been working hard, did the system finally catch up to yah? Another soul has fallen." The mole shook his head. "Anyhow, I kinda had to work with her, ya know. It was kinda like, eh, get shot or get bonded. She caught me trying to dig a tunnel for some smugglers, after I dug one to free some criminals, flooded part of the city with sewage water by digging one, made the foundation of some buildings fragile enough to cause a sinkhole to swallow half the buildings... Those were fun times! Anyhow, I changed now, cause I'd rather stay alive, ya know?" [OOC:] Kerr's biography added.

Lyka, after conversing with Kerr, laughed, "Sweet! That's hardcore! Oh, look like Hibby's about to do something, better go back to her. Nice talking with ya." Lyka said, flying back to Hibiscus.

Londo nodded to Essence after she had asked for the expedition members, and sent her a copy, "There ya go!"

As Suilen and Ryan explained what they had done, Hibiscus messaged people in hopes that she could get more evidence out of this. She had a theory now, but she still wasn't sure, and all the pieces of the puzzle still hadn't come into play, but it was better to announce it now.

Just as Hibiscus opened her mouth, Londo stood up from his chair-

"YES! I see it now! The ending!" He said, striding to the front of the classroom, "It was Ahn that did it! She had a gun that she pointed at Ewald to stop him! And the Hull! That's important! Case closed!" Londo said, going back to his seat, looking smug.

Hibiscus groaned a bit, while Lyka blew a raspberry at Londo, "What a shitty analysis!" She said, as hibiscus walked to the front, "I-I-I have a theroy a-as well... I don't k-know what some of the things c-could be, b-but I want to put something f-forwards...." Hibiscus cleared her throat, then looked at at her notes to read comfortably, "I... I think it was Ewald who attacked Ahn. Ahn was a mage with magical power, and apparently used a gun, so it stands to think that she spotted the hull from far away first, having a keen eyesight, which you'd have to have to be a gun-mage, right? So I think Ahn spotted it first. The boot in the ground was from Ewald bracing to attack Ahn. If Ewald was caught by surprise, then he wouldn't have had time to brace himself, right? In addition, if Ahn wanted to stop him, she'd use her gun instead to shoot Ewald... So Ewald instead attacked Ahn, who then transformed to stop Ewald from attacking her more. I don't know what the broken plastic is. It could be something completely unrelated, or if it was instead Ahn who attacked, maybe she shot the phone from Ewald's hand. Although Ewald said she never transformed, so that can't be it either. The only thing I'm not sure of is the plastic, but it could just be a red herring." Hibiscus said, finishing her theory and going back to her seat.

Elisa

Elisa moved indoors as the airship begun to move. Rather than being an adventurous daredevil, she lied back and pondered. The spaceship wasn't as remarkable as she had hoped. A single sliver from heavens, reminded her of the Shard and recollecting the events she looked back 90 years into the past, perhaps more. With melancholy she joined the others and grabbed a soda, first confirming that it wasn't fuel before drinking.

It was quite understandable why she was frowning as the loaded expectations had collapsed around insignificant hull piece. The time crept slowly for her as the airship arrived back the academy and it was time for a reunion. Elisa listened quietly and made noted the events of each of the steps.

"I'm afraid there might not be a simple solution for this. A tale of two with word against word." Elisa pictured the scenery where she had been inside her mind and attempted to reconstruct the story. Her imagination painted a vivid picture of the landscape and of an expedition. The two protagonists headed out, one of them had headed out there because of meticulous calculations that been carried out... Another one was on a wild goose chase, Elisa could feel motive after this one.

Then inside her reconstruction, Elisa heard Essence's voice vividly. The fancy equipment for scanning that she imagined within her reconstruction were all wrong. None of them worked. From the images that she had seen there had been a glimmer. The hull piece glimmered, yet it wasn't something to be easily noticed. Only one of the two had noted it. Which would have meant that only one of them had seen it from afar.

Elisa took a deep inhale: "I believe it was truly Ahn who spotted the hull first with the detailed recollection that she could give of something that was not an easy task. Where as Ewald gave a more scientific answer that was only half of the truth. This is at odds with miss Ahn's version where the find was more accidental by spotting a glimmer from afar, glimmer that he would have missed."

Elisa then waved her hand as if calling someone closer in, happy about the discovery. And then it was as if a phantom stabs her. She barely avoids it... Elisa crouches down crossing her hands around her kneecaps. She froze the time inside her reconstruction and pondered, gathering her thoughts. Ones truth is a lie to another... She flipped her world upside down and on other side she has the version that she considered deceitful. One of them is attempting to call it in, and then she attacks. But her motive was not to injure him. It was to stop him. Why should she stop her? They were part of the same expedition. She -wanted- to find something, and at first she had no problems with sharing the find. If she had no problems with that, did he? And would she injure herself in the heat of the moment? How would that make sense... It probably wouldn't. He had a motive for not letting her have her hands onto the hull piece. But could he have truly prevented it to trigger this, would he have been prepared to kill for it?

Elisa stood up and she reconstructed one more scenery. It was a third one. A reconstruction of events that never happened. In that reconstruction the woman transformed and in a single shot the soldier falls down, dead. And the woman claims the piece of hull for herself and her own personal experiments. If she had chosen to attack, this would've been the outcome. Would there have been any merit for her to frame the attack? Elisa returned back to the woman's story where she brought the hostilities into an abrupt end by transforming.

Elisa then opened her eyes. "Perhaps it's a story of half-truths and half-lies. Miss Ahn found the hull first. Ahn and Ewald got into an argument. I don't think Ewald sought to attack her, yet I think there may've been an accident and he did not want to take any blame for it. If he had really intended to attack her, I don't think Ewald would have gotten away from it. It'd have made more sense to make an accident appear bigger afterwards. The biggest issue lies in the motive that Ewald provided for Ahn's "attack", it doesn't make much sense, why he would specifically call it in there not to mention, if he had not been the first one to find it... I think Ewald tried to downplay his own involvement with a lie, and I believe that Ahn may have bloated the story the more she had told it." Elisa scuffled her hair, and she gave a sigh.

As Hibiscus listened to Elisa speak, she got a message on her phone from Ewald. She had messaged earlier asking Ewald to send a picture of his phone to Hibiscus, and he did so. The plastic pieces they found on site matched up exactly with his now-broken phone. After Elisa finished, Hibiscus got up to show everyone the picture she had, "I-I messaged Ewald about his phone, and the plastic pieces match up with what was broken. I-I forgot to think about what Ruya had said, that he would have gotten his phone out immediately to call, and maybe he did, and Ahn either attacked or an accident happened. I-I'm not so sure anymore..." Hibiscus said, going back to her seat and putting her head in her hands, Lyka laughing, "Hahaa, we aint smart enough for this shit, just convict them both! Get it over with!"

Now, Hibiscus wasn't too sure about who attacked or not. Or whether it was an accident. Maybe she really wasn't cut out for this detective stuff, but she still wanted to try.

So Hibiscus started laying out all the evidence on her phone one after the other.

Footprints, most likely Ewald's, along with dried blood on the ground.

Plastic pieces, which belonged to Ewald's phone, found next to attack.

Ewald wouldn't have been able to spot it with his equipment, but Ahn would have with a chance glimmer or magical powers.

Ahn not transforming would have been weird, but maybe she didn't due to panicking.

Hibiscus looked up from her notes, coming to a realization, maybe there was some truth to both their stories, as Elisa had said, but only in parts. Hibiscus stood up again, "I-I think Elisa is right. Ahn found it first, but Ewald called it in. T-The broken plastic is from his phone, so she maybe attacked him to stop him. As I said before, h-his motivation is because Ahn and her company would have destroyed the hull with magic, s-so he might have lied about finding it first so they couldn't get a claim on it. Even if Ahn attacked him, she would have seen it first, and thus her company getting claims on it. So Ewald lied about that, and said he found it first. Ahn stabbing herself was just to place blame on Ewald attacking her... So I do think Ewald's story is the most true, but him finding it first was a lie." Hibiscus said, sitting down.
