They're meant to be guides more than anything, so unless you irk me I won't be sending them to fight your characters.

On that note, what will our characters be doing early on?

Aesil wants to take stuff, Palace wants to make sure Aesil doesn't take stuff, Goetia wants you to find stuff, and Guardians want you to investigate stuff.

Take stuff? No, Aesil wants to eat stuff. :3

Quick question almighty GM what's the max diameter we can give to a area effecting skill?

Pretty arbitrary. Depends on what the effect does, really. Throw out a number and when I review it in full I can let you know whether or not it's an acceptable range.

Fair enough I'll just make a estimated guess for now.

I wonder where the recruitables will go...

That part is given. I am merely curious.

Maybe they do nothing, as punishment for not choosing a faction. So literally all they do is be normal people, living their lives. XD

Too boring. After all, said recruitables could possibly turn the tide in the favor of a Faction.

Alright. Who else still needs their CS reviewed/again and/or accepted?

Also has anyone been accepted and not had their CS linked to on the front page?
Did you reread mines?

How exactly are champions deployed by factions? I'm guessing it's not always in a straightforward fashion. And who mediates?

So as I noticed through testing in a Skype group that there are still a lot of "bad" parts to the mechanisms of this roleplay (it's certainly not bad overall, but needs tweaking) I've decided to notify everyone that THERE WILL BE HEAVY AMOUNTS OF "PATCHING" THROUGHOUT THIS ROLEPLAY, INCLUDING DURING IC.

That being said, HERE IS PATCH NOTES 1.0.

General Mechanics Changes

In dealing with utilizing bites and grabs as "extreme" close-quarters attack moves, things have been changed a little than what was originally intended. Such close quarters fights should simulate a lack of movement and the like. Biting or grabbing requires less to hit an individual nearby, but will similarly result in a deduction to their Speed to dodge for the next turn if attacked.

Grabbing or Biting an opponent requires the attackers Finesse roll to be at least 50% the total value of the Defender's Speed roll. Attacker gets -1 Speed during their next turn if attempting to dodge.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Due to a strong favoring of Finesse as a stat that resulted in Might bonuses up the wazoo and similarly an intense amount of Health damage being dealt in turn, "Advantages" to Might and Damage while attacking have been made harder to achieve.

When rolling to-hit, getting +10 advantage over the enemy dodge roll results in a +1 to the damaging stat. When rolling to penetrate defenses, a +20 advantage grants a +1 to the health damage dealt.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dice rolled changed to D10 from a D6 due to D6 strongly skewing rolls in the favor of individuals with an even vaguely higher stat.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now we have a way to determine how far you can go in one turn!

For every 1 Speed, you may move up to 5x Speed meters in one turn before or after another action.

Character Changes

- Esterellia Forbes

Merry Nightmare was a snowballing mess of murder, due to it reducing victim's stats after a bite, furthering the chance she had of continuing the drain.

Merry Nightmare - Only reduces the target's stats if they resist paralysis.

They're deployed where they're needed, by whoever has the authority.
What do you mean by mediate?

Edit: Fixed so that it's clear overwhelming speed doesn't have a limited amount of uses.
Edit 2:Fixed it again so that it's clear Overwhelming Speed's non-combat bonus is a passive ability [Gotta go fast!]
Edit 3: Fixed formatting because it disappears when you edit! Yay!

I am up way too late and can't think up appropriate words

(Yes I am using a magical girl as an appearance.)

Name: Eleena Ijin
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: Eleena is a young girl with a slim but athletic build. Unmistakable as a female with her ample proportions, she also dresses rather lightly. She dislikes clothes, especially baggy ones, and yet likes the feeling of catching the wind on them. This leads to her rather minimal way of dressing, with flowing accessories like a headband and two-part jacket. Her hair is a bit shorter than medium, and is a lighter blue in color. Her eyes are a turquoise color, but when Electric Soul is in full swing, the pupils turn concentric and their color becomes a ferocious and intimidating yellow.
hW7Iq.jpg

Faction: Guardians

Personality:
In short, Eleena is someone who believes she can make the world a better place. A hero. More than willing to work for another person's happiness, that is her own joy. She never thought about it being 'her purpose in life,' nor does she dream of 'making the world a better place.' She simply lives that way without thinking, as if it were as simple as breathing. Her hobby, her job, her duty... She considers it none of those things. When asked about it, about why she's like that, why she works herself so hard for others, she'll simply reply: "Because I want to be a hero." Simply that, without any actual reason to wanting to be a hero.

It is this that leaves her distant to others and even somewhat empty inside. While the singular desire of heroism drives her life, it leaves everything else behind. Eleena is easily bored, quick to complain, and only has a sparse amount of interests. That said, she can be quite the motor-mouth, takes interest in others and smiles quite frequently. While it's easy to approach and get close to her, it's impossible to get personal. As if that place doesn't exist, Eleena doesn't even consider the possibility of anyone coming any closer than a friend. Camaraderie, Family, Love, and even a trusting relationship all seem foreign to her. Like they are from different species, she considers a person a person, and nothing more.

Although the defining trait of Eleena's personality is a sense of heroics, she isn't naive about it. She accepts that which can't be changed. Although she wants to be a hero, she'll never consider herself one. It's an impossible goal, and she realizes that. Thing's aren't so simple that she can 'save everyone.' So she settles for what she can do, and what she can try to change. Who she can save, right now. Even if disaster struck and hundreds died, if she saved one person... even if she failed to save everyone else... even if she was mortally wounded... then she could still smile.

Short Biography:

Perhaps the most notable aspect of Eleena's history was that both her parents were champions who died in combat. Too young to remember them, the parent figure in her life was her grandfather on her father's side. As she was pushed to be like a father and mother she knew nothing about, he was the calm and gentle side of her life. Where she would be broken by rigorous training, he would be waiting at home, grinning with a bowl of soup for her.

The most defining and changing moment of her life was not the death of her Grandfather, or The First Sentence. It was a much earlier event, one that at this point she can't even remember. After about a year of training, she had been designated as one with low potential. She had gone to her first new training session, one that was far more rougher than previous ones. Time after time she was knocked down and expected to get back up. And eventually she couldn't. They left her there, saying simply that training for the day was done. Her body was soul all over, and she began to wonder why she was doing all of this. She would have lay there until the day passed, had it not been for the simple image of her Grandfather waiting.

She had left then, doubtful yet hoping that he was still there at the corner of the street. She didn't know how much time she had wasted, but it was already dark. When she reached there... Eleena didn't see him. Sick and tired and with no relief, she fell down on her back and looked skywards. ... Twilight was so empty. No sun, and only a few stars poked through. And then suddenly he was there, standing above her. And offering a hand. Her grandfather, there with a genuine warm smile, said: "I'll help you up." It was then that the most important thought of her entire life lazily drifted through her mind before leaving again.

Wouldn't it be great if everyone could smile and help up those who fell down?

That thought, shaped her entire personality and future.
That memory, distant and forgotten just like the words, left behind only a feeling.

A gentle and yet determined feeling.

One that drove her desires, making her put everything into her training.
It was a complicated yet simple feeling, and it translated into these words:
"I want to be a hero."

Stats:
Might - 2
Finesse - 5
Fortitude - 3
Health - 3
Speed - 18
Perception - 1

Abilities:
Overwhelming Speed:
If Eleena has at least twice the speed of her opponent, she can use this ability to gain an extra turn. This ability cannot be used again for two turns.
(O= Eleena, X = Enemy: OOX OX OX OOX.... [Repeating])
Additionally, this ability passively gives large amounts of additional speed in non-combat RP situations, or combat ones that don't rely on stats.

Electric Soul:
Gives electrical generation based on her willpower and emotions. This electricity can only be used in close melee range (but can extend a bit past her reach.) Her main source of damage.

In combat based situations, the power increases based on how many 'charges' the opponent has on them. Charges can be applied on both attack and defense. For a charge to be applied, she must be attacking or defending in close-range with the opponent, or a conductive item that is touching the opponent. [Charges do no damage themselves, only increase the damage of future attacks.]

After a charge has been applied, Eleena is able to 'discharge' that one and any other existing charges, doing damage.

Heroic Second Wind:
When enough damage is dealt to Eleena that she would be unable to continue the battle, her Electric Soul goes into overdrive, generating a large amount of electricity. This creates a high-powered burst that removes negative effects from inside and around her body, additionally knocking back things around her. Combat wise, this 'nullifies' the damage from the attack that would have previously finished her off, leaving her at the health before-hand. It then becomes Eleena's turn again.

This ability can only be used once per battle.
RPwise, does not remove the lethality of any damage done to her.

Equipment:
---Padded Light Metal Gloves: While too lightweight to provide much protection, they are quite comfortable to wear in a fight. Even though they can't stop a swing, they can still touch or grab a relatively still weapon (to conduct electricity) without much worry of cutting up her hands. The right gauntlet has a larger chunk of metal around it to act more like a shield, though it still isn't that durable.

---Padded Light Metal Boots: Similar in fashion to the gloves, these have metal on the outside with comfortable cloth on the inside to allow for comfort while moving at high speeds. Metal studs are on the bottom to add good traction, as well as a bit of oomph to her kicks.

---2x Water Canteens: Used for drinking. Because people get thirsty. Oh, I suppose it can also be used for some battle tactics.

~♦Name♦~
Aurora Marceline Spiere

~♦Age♦~
19

~♦Gender♦~
Female

~♦Appearance♦~
She stands at five feet, and nine inches weighing around 150 lbs. without her armor. Her skin is usually pale to the point you would think she was sick thanks to her always covering up her whole body. Though it is easily attainable to see that she is female with her facial figures, and barely C-cup bust. Aurora also happens to have a rare eye trait that causes her to have two rings of color on her iris with the outer ring being a dark purple, and the inner ring being a plum. The sight usually scare people who consider her to have the eyes of a demon, but to others they find it quite stunning, and beautiful. Aurora's body is of a lean muscular figure.

~♦Personality♦~
Over time Aurora has grown into a motherly like personality with a few twists of accepted reality. She only acts kindly to those she knows, but wont ignore someone or act hostile until given reason. She does love children, however, knows all to well that a smile can easily be hiding a knife. She by no means believes in hero's seeing those who claim to be as foolishly delusional, or broken individuals trying to still make sense of the world. In this day in age she knows all to well that justice isn't blind, and unfortunately can be corrupted. Thus she stays weary of all those who believe everyone can still be united. Frankly do to these thoughts she keeps quiet, and for the most part out of sight unless forced into situation in which case she will react in a noble matter, or a bloody one to end it as quick as possible. When trapped in social situations she is rather polite unless she believes she is addressing a condemned soul in which case she becomes pretty aggressive. However her judgment of right, and wrong doesn't match up to the Guardian sense like it use to, and thus depending on her view of the situation she could react in a completely unpredictable manner.

~♦Short Biography♦~
Father was a high ranking official in the Goetia, and Mother was a Guardian Champion from a long line of Champions before her. Easy to say neither were expecting to have a child, and once they did a conflict of interest emerged. Aurora's earlier years was hell on earth as the two fought over Aurora's affiliation. The two were unwilling to leave their positions, and temporarily agreed to a half-an-half position. So from the age of 10 to 14 Aurora found her self constantly under stress training between magic with her father, and strength with her mother. Thankfully near the end of her fourteenth birthday her father decided to cave in unwilling to see his daughter torn between them he finally married his lover, and permanently left the Goetia in a retirement like manner. He would, however, have nothing to do with the Guardians, and thus became a stay at home dad. At that point Aurora was officially accepted into the Guardians, and started a more proper training as a Champion.

Unfortunately this new found stability would not last as The Sentence came down with its brutal judgment costing Aurora her family... from that point on she found herself doing her best to suck in the emotional scars as she helped the Guardians lead the people into a sense of calm under new management of Tycen Uma. At first Aurora found a calling that took away the stress of her deep seated emotional lose yet as time moved on she finally started to notice that being a Guardian was taking a toll on her as it reminded her to much of her mother, and the unending pain of losing her right when things were changing for the better. Ironically this was at a time she was recommended for a Warden position... yet before a vote could be placed down she announced her resignation from the Guardians. Not giving anyone a chance to stop her she left right after that, and has since been traveling about trying to find herself, or at least find a way to shut out the emotional pain.

~♦Faction♦~
Unaffiliated - Originally Guardians

~♦Stats♦~
Might - 6
Finesse - 7
Fortitude - 7
Health - 6
Speed - 6
Perception - 3
Arcana - 2

~♦Abilities♦~

~♠Lunar Orb♠~
Concentrating her magic into a plum glowing sphere no bigger then the blunt end of her mace Aurora can slam it into her opponents acting like a explosive punch, or blast it into her target no further then 5 meters away. She can concentrate & blast this attack from her hands, feet, mouth, and weapon's. This attack gets a boost if the moon is out at the time depending on the current phase of the moon. 1.25x for a quarter moon, 1.5 for a half moon, 1.75 for 3/4 a moon, and a 2x for a whole moon

~♠Veil of The Wispy Moon♠~
In a attempt to turn the tides of battle Aurora will release her limiters on her Mana Pool causing it to slowly amass around her body causing her skin, and armor to turn darker in a nightmarish manner as wisps of darkness start to exert off her form. With glowing eyes this ability raises her Might, Fortitude, and Speed by 1 for three active turns before shutting down. It takes another four active turns for the ability to recharge. Just like Lunar Orb this ability gets a boost if the moon is out but only from a full moon which doubles the abilities buffs.

~♠Night-O-Sphere♠~
This is sort of a last resort ability one that Aurora can only use once per three battles. Unleashing her magic in full will create a crimson red half sphere with a diameter of 30 meters with Aurora as the center point. Once casted, however, the spell will remain stationary, and will not move even if Aurora does. Anyone caught in this sphere including Aurora will have all their active abilities, and buffs cancelled out for as long as they are within the half sphere. If they can get out in a time frame in which their ability would still be active they will gain back all buff's for the remainder of that abilities time limit. Also if anyone tries to activate a ability while in the Night-O-Sphere the strength, or magic required to use that ability will be absorbed from them adding to the abilities lethal quality. If Aurora willingly leaves the Night-O-Sphere the spell will simply disperse returning everyone's active abilities to full form, however, if Aurora is forced out of the Night-O-Sphere it will in fact implode on anyone still inside causing damage equal to Aurora's Might plus 1 for every ability that was carelessly tried to perform while inside the Night-O-Sphere.

~♦Equipment♦~

~♣Flanged Mace "Meteor"♣~
A mace crafted out of a well sought mining ore back in Drisbane's younger mining days. It is a dark purple like metal well liked by those of the Palace mainly for its color. As you can imagine it unfortunately was used primarily as a decoration type resource do to its strange coloring. However, once the hype caused by its appearance alone calmed down it was discovered that it was a very strong metal more useful for crafting weaponry, and armor rather then for ornamental pieces. One of the first pieces made was a flanged Mace dubbed Meteor that was purchased by Aurora's Great Grandfather, and passed down all the way to her mother. That was until The Sentence took place, and the weapon ended up in Aurora's hands. Design is exactly like the one in the image.

~♣Round Shield "Comet"♣~
As the name implies tis simply a well made round shield held by her right hand. However, since she is ambidextrous she has been known to switch her weapons between hands. The shield is made out of the same material as "Meteor" & "Eclipse" . While the shield may seem no bigger then Aurora's forearm it does well to deflect Swords, Lances, regular sized Axes, projectiles, and anything of the like. However, it is clearly not designed to take on weapons like Battle Axes, War Hammers, or large ass "Cloud Strife" swords. Design is the exact same one in the image. However, unlike "Meteor" Aurora had already owned this weapon before the passing of her parents. It was a prize for a small in-training Guardian competition that Aurora won.

~♠Satchel♠~
Just a regular bag that carriers coins, and a few food provisions.

~♠"Eclipse" Armor♠~
Being the daughter of a higher official in Goetia's ranks definitely has its perks. For one your father is willing to spend a hefty piece of coin to make sure his daughter had a good set of armor. As seen in the image above her arms are well armored, however, unseen beneath her battle "dress" is a chain mail protecting her torso along with armor similar to the design on her arms protecting her legs up to her waist. Ironically the material used is the same as the one made to create Meteor, and Comet thus feeling it would be strange not to she nicknamed her armor set.
