In the beginning, there were the Ancients. They, both of them created from the same being that time has all but forgotten, were both held responsible for creating the planet Gelbaron. The Light Ancient, representing life and everything is good, set about creating all life that is on there through their own births. The Dark Ancient, representing Death and everything that is dire, carved the landscape and defined every living thing's life span. When both of them worked together, they created the laws of the world, the natural progression of evolution and then formed a mystical force that represented their essence: magic. Once the world was completed, they both had sworn an oath that their balance as opposite sides of a coin and not interfere with the balance that they had created, making sure that whatever one does, the other does something to restore balance. They have both agreed to this and allowed each other to work to their own roles for thousands of eons. However, seeing as the world they had created just floating around in their existence and remaining ever so dull for such a long time, the Dark Ancient decided to seize the power of the world for himself and ridding the higher planes of his sister. Looking onto the world, he had planned for years in order for him to control the world and cast the Light Ancient into Limbo. During this time, he poured nearly all of his essence into 20 spheres of pure evil. He created a spell that, depending on the attempts that he needed to gain full control of the world, would allow him to use 4, 6 or 10 of these orbs in order of attempts to gain control of both the planet and the higher planes. Before the Light Ancient had a chance to realize her brother was attempting, he cast them down from his platform onto the different continents of the world. Knowing that the oath that they agreed to was broken and something needed to be done to restore balance, the Light Ancient had, with the use of her Light Aura, created a spell and cast it onto 20 random people, hoping that this spell will then create the perfect method to balance the acts the Dark Ancient had created. These people, along with their descendants or objects that have their blood, would then have the purpose of destroying these orbs, with the destruction consuming the living essence of the person or object. Whether these people would realize their own destiny or not is something that only time could tell. As the spell was cast, the Dark Ancient looked on helplessly as his plans were being distorted by this revelation. While he had done everything that he could to prevent his plans from failing with causing disruption that would, hopefully, destroy these Disciples of Light, the balance between the two warring deities stood at a fickle equilibrium. Millennia had passed and while the factuality of this battle of the gods had faded into religious texts, this had not stopped the fanatics from searching for these mythical beings or objects. This had been the subject of many wars, ranging from the Schism of the Conuence Empire to the War of 3 Continents, have claimed the lives of many living beings. Everything has been silent for many years, despite some skirmishes. However, something lurks in the unknown future and a storm is brewing over in the Amroth Mountains and the Werepyre Mountains. Another evil voice, the name only known as Lord Sacremento, is uniting these forces for an as-of-yet unknown reason. Towns and cities fell to these forces, with many people slain for this cause. It is marching on the gates of the capitals of the two largest empires in the world, Conuence and Terrubane. Yet despite the dire climate in Gelbaron, only a glimmer of hope remains. As history had seen time and again, a band of warriors of all backgrounds join together and, with their might and determination, will stop this madness. Will this madness stop? Only time will tell... |

Playable Races
Playable Races
Silvæan
Silvæans have an air of ethereal beauty within the realms of Jaeltreg Forest. They have a lithe build to them, with their facial features looking as if they were statues incarnate. Unless the individual had been involved in the seemingly endless war with the Krimntaar, they have no flaws in their features. However, in respect of this, they believe that they are above everything else that is in Gelbaron, looking down on every other race that is in the world with impunity. Apart from their personality, the only common attribute that they have, which has given them the nickname 'The Race of Silver'. Due to something that is only described as the Silvan Curse, every strand of hair and the colour of their iris always have an appearance of silver in them. Along with this, those who do use the arcane have the ability of using the Silvæan Magic. It is ironic, however, that this race, despite being able to use exclusive magic, they have a very short lifespan, with the elders of the race in Silvæa being on average 39 years of age, with the oldest recorded in their archives reaching an age of 49. However, they have the option of gaining immortality with a long, dangerous ritual called the Ritual of the Eternal Light. Only a small number of Silvæans that complete the ritual successfully that none of the race dare to complete it unless in dire circumstances.
Krimntaar
The Krimntaar are the smallest of the humanoid races that are 'civilized', so to speak. They were a cruel race, vicious to any race that entered their domain, though this has mellowed out over time. They have crooked, rough-skinned noses and gouges for eye sockets, where only a sinister red glow emanates from them. While their skin is rough and grey in colour, the most prominent thing that defines them are the protrusions that are on their joints, made of hardened bone. They have stocky bodies and spindly arms, their fingers almost stick-like in appearance. While they have no need for armour as some of their protrusions offer them protection, they are able to craft fine armours and weapons in their workshops. During their battles with the Silvæans, they are often seen riding into battle on Carrefær, a dire wolf-like creature with antlers on their heads and razor-sharp tusks for teeth. Their closely related to the Maloux They age to ages that are slightly older than those of a human.
Drægarian
This serpentine race, for the few who have seen them, can be described basically as this: They have an upper body of a human and a lower body of a serpent, with them reaching 15'0" on average from head to tail. Their heads are snake-like in nature, similar to the mighty Drægars that they descended from. Their torsos are muscular in appearance, only advancing their intimidating appearance, scales adorning every inch of it. On top of their scaly heads are the crests that are unique depending on which ancient Drægar they descended from. Along with the crests, their scales are of different colours ranging from ruby red to obsidian black. While they do have the powerful defensive magic that their serpent ancestors to utilize, they prefer close quartered combat. In response to this, they have developed a milky veiled lid to close over their eyes to protect them. While this will leave them without the sight advantage, their crests detect the air around them, allowing them to instinctively use sound to create an image in their minds. No one knows how old they are, though one member of the race has been said to be over 250 years in age.
Werepyre
Werepyres are one of the largest humanoids that live in Gelberon. A conclusion to an experiment of Feleren Von Valeferen in their haunt, merging the blood of a wolf and a bat and injecting it into a 'volunteer', they can be seen standing well over 7 feet in size. They are well muscled monsters that have an appearance of a bipedal wolf, with razor sharp claws on both feet and hands and pointed teeth in their maws. Where their shoulder blades are, a pair of leathery, bat-like wings that span to well over twice their length. Their fur can be a range of colours from charcoal grey to russet, though their wings remain the same colour: black. They age similarly to humans and behave like them when they are in a group. However, due to the events that brought them into existence, as soon as they encounter any other race, they turn hostile and have a bell-bent urge to kill them to preserve their race.
Void Creature
They are among the most unusual creatures that live between Gelbaron and the Void Realm, one realm that only a few beings are able to return from. They don't have any particular shape at all, though their entire body is made completely out of Void matter. While each individual can take the form of any humanoid creature, they often choose the human form. The distinction between any one of these creatures and the races like humans and Silvæans are their red irises. They are able to travel through the world very quickly by cutting the fabric that makes up Gelbaron and entering into the Void Realm that way with the use of Void magic. The hole that is left usually repairs in a matter of minutes, though anything that is loose will be sucked into the Void. They are able to conjure Void magic without difficulty and sometimes fashion weapons and armour out of the magic as well, making them very hard wearing.

Other Information
Other Information
As more information of Gelbaron is transferred to my blog (some important, some just general info), I will be updating this section with important links to that information for you guys to have.
While I tend to be very flexible when it comes to some of the stuff that appears in this RP as they are Gelbaron-specific, these are the rules that I want everyone to abide to:
- All standard RPing conventions apply here: This means no GModding (when a character is a god and controls other characters), no Mary Sue/Gary Stus (characters that have no flaws), no meta-gaming, etc.
- Post Length: As this is classified as an Advanced RP, I expect that quality and substance to come with it as well. I would like to see a minimum of 4 well constructed paragraphs, though less is permissable if it is 100% needed. Grammar and spelling are to be few and far in between.
- Absences: I know that real life does get in the way every now and again and I do understand that you might need a longer amount of time to write a response, but please let me know via a post or PM that this will be a case. Absences without any notice will result in the character removal.
- Only One Character per person: I am all for the character development and the chemistry between the characters rather than it being populous. Having said that, if you can expand on your ideas for your posts with NPCs, then I'm all for it.
- Technology: The era that you'd expect for the technology to be in this RP is flintlock firearms. If you are having a magister (magic user) as your character, please refrain from using tech.
- Restrictions: This will be something specific to two of the races that are mentioned above. There are to be a maximum of 2 Werepyres and 1 Void Creature at one time. All others are unlimited. Magic-wise, the only restriction is Aura magic and the other magics belonging to their specific races. The Void Creature Spot is reserved and none of the Werepyre Spots are filled.
- Communication: When planning to do something in the RP, please make sure that all the relevant parties are informed and agree with what you want to do.
- Obey all Iwaku guidelines: 'Nuff said.
- Have Fun!
These rules can change or be added to at any time when necessary.
