I'm playing with a few ideas in regards to why an angel would be on earth and in a weakened state. Should have something like a cs upnext week.

I have to say, I'm a bit worried about having an angel in the game. They are one of the creatures that are very easy to overpower without even intending it.

Then again, so are mages. And vampires. Maybe I should't say anything...

Magic in general is OP.

Magic with dull people is dull.

I get silly with magic.

Real silly.

Silly?

THE IC IS UP, PEOPLE

I apologize HEAVILY for the lack of a decent post, but hopefully it sets the scene for those in the Syndicate. People of other affiliations may place themselves wherever they wish, and even Syndicate members aren't bound to Santos.

Now for the second order of business: I need everyone to post the name their character answers to, in the color you want to represent them. This is for the character sheet reference.

Callawyn Harrowfelled, answers to Callawyn or Cal

That work?

Eden! ^.^b

(There is also "My Child" but that's off limits to you syndi-can'ts. muahahahaha)

Illya will respond to Illya.

She doesn't really need a nickname xP

Well, it's not necessarily a nickname, I'm just making character tags and I can't put their full names on the thing, so I want to put what most people will be reading their names as.

Orrib can be adressed simply with his name - Orrib. Though, when being formal, which is most of the time, he likes to be adressed as Mr. Rhovanion.

Only Mister? Not lord or majesty?
He doesn't see himself as a lord anymore, and majesty is reserved for royalty. His duchy is gone, as is his title. Once he has reclaimed both, then he will be adressed as Lord.

Mother of Mercy

Appearance: Temperance is an image of purity, humility, and charity with beautifully long blonde hair and clear blue eyes; Her beauty is unmatched in all of Yria. She dons white togas of silk and a single crimson belt with the insignia of the Inquisition. The woman is always serene with clear eyes that stare in the face of opposition, eyes of justice as been deemed by her most loyal followers. Her posture is likened to a queen with elegance, but her smile is kind and deceiving. Perception is reality she likes to say when it comes to making face to the public. The High Priestess of the Inquisition often attends and leads the largest of Witch Hunts, she wishes to help the lost souls into purity in the flesh. When in the company of the "Holy Men" she wears armor of gold over the traditional white robes. Mother Temperance stands at a formidable 6 feet, and is very slender with the delicate curves of a woman. Her charm is heightened by her nature as a Siren, which have long been known for their beauty and hypnotic voice. However, if angered or upset her looks become terrifyingly unnatural; sharper teeth, bigger darker eyes, and feathered skin. Sea Sirens' true appearance is that of a lizard, fish, or bird; very harpie like.

Name: Mother Temperance - A name she took on when she first began to build the Ivory Inquisition in the island of Yria. Not many know of her origins and her true name, unless they are a true foe or companion. Temperance does not have companions past her one and only God.

Race: Sea Siren - The sirens of the sea are happiest near a home body of water, the further from their home water the weaker they become and the more haggard their appearance and voice. Sirens specialize in their elements of water and air and they can use these elements to heal or destroy to their fancy. Sirens have the most beautiful voice of any species existing on Pheraxis, and unlike other species Sirens are exclusively female. Some natural talents of Sea Sirens are their ability of compulsion on weakened minds or those with weak willpower to completely take over their senses to give them feelings of fear, sorrow, or even guilt. Sirens also have the ability to completely change their appearance every year if they wish. Longevity is gifted to each siren, the eldest in their history being a siren by the name of Nelene who lived for six hundred years before dying on the shores of her birth. Siren's effect on others is very subtle and hardly noticible, which is how Mother Temperance has kept her secret so well. Many find themselves drawn to believe her compelling stories, even when she is not attempting any form of compulsion as it can be very weakening. At times her supernatural charm is only successful if the seeds of belief have already been planted, but her compulsion is much stronger as she is an older Siren or against the opposite sex. Sirens have a natural affinity for nature, and much like witches can draw power from plants, water, and other of mother nature's gifts. Temperance has a garden that she keeps in constant bloom with her immaculate up keep of many rare blossoms from deeper into the heart of Yria and other parts of Pheraxis, along with the sea water this garden keeps her happy and powerful. The Vial she always keeps chained under her robes is filled with Yria seawater and a perfectly preserved Lunar Lily which is the progenitor of all the lilies in her garden. It is what keeps her just as powerful then her home when she strays for the sake of her calling.

Age: 264 y/o - Appears as 30 y/o
Calling: High Priestess of Ymius
Equipment: A silver dagger inscribed in an ancient language not native to Pheraxis, a small pouch of obsidian runes with ivory scales, and a vial of Yria seawater on a chain.
Affiliation: Head Inquisitor of The Ivory Inquisition - Temperance raised the Ivory Inquisition from the ashy dirt to its pearly steeple in Yria's holy city, The Ivory City. She was the sole survivor of the Inquisition's crusade known as "Mercy's Gift" a mass execution of practitioners. Others deemed it as a slaughter, and some found it to be a wholly glorious feat by the fair hands of Mother Temperance. However, the beloved High Priestess of Ivory refuses to speak of this event that happened exactly 10 years ago. Not long after, the infamous Syndicate rose from the shadows and challenged the ideals that she had worked so hard to plant in the minds of the scared unprotected people. Least to say she despises the Syndicate for all they stand for, they have been making more than a little trouble for her, and even more so the necromancer who founded the sinful and unholy "haven". All crusades and witch hunts flow through the Mother, however she cannot possibly control all of her subordinates. Politics hinder her pure and glorified quest to purify Pheraxis of the blackness, and these men are called "The Seven Cardinals". The same men have lately begun overstepping their boundaries, leaving the Mother in the dark.
Personality: Humble, intelligent, calm, serene, charismatic, diligent, religious, traditional, and kind are all various traits that describe Mother Temperance. Though these are all true of the High Priestess, she is also cruel and merciless. She highly believes that mercy is in death, and only then can one be pure of their sins and finally be able to attone. Just as merciless, she is relentless in her mission to rid Pheraxis of the impurities that Black Magick and the Old Ones have caused. Though she herself is inhuman, she has a deep everlasting love of the meek and the unable. Era's true plight are with those that stay with the Old Ones instead of turning to the justice and merciful God of Light. As she is unable to track those loyal to the Old Gods, Black Magick has been the only means of finding the lost ones and because of her cold rule and deep hatred to the dark arts she does not wish to convert. By nature, Era wishes only to eradicate the black virus. Temperance holds to one thing, she truly believes that what she is doing is the holy and pure thing to do, and she is not above taking the life of another. Temperance has found the perfect balance between Logic and Tradition. The Mother rules with an iron fist; cold, calculating, and harsh. One of her most incredible traits is her self-restraint and inability to become truly upset. This is where her name originated.

Biography: When Temperance was still new to life, when she was just a woman of thirty she worked in a small orphanage that was dedicated the God of Light which was once recognized as an Old One at the time. She was happy and the small seaside village adored the young kind woman. This is the place she had been born to another siren. Though when she was a child she thought her father was just a simple medicine man that left one day and never came back. However she would later find that her father was of something much darker, an infamous Necromancer who's name has been lost in the passage of time. The man took her mother, gave her a child, then slaughtered her two siren sisters. Temperance's mother told her daughter this, but she had no idea the consequence it would later have. Black Magick had never been a kind thing to Temperance, especially the day Child of Light orphanage was massacred and each child was sacrificed to the Old Gods.

The day was just like any other, and Temperance had been charged with traveling to a nearby village to collect a pair of orphaned twins. When she arrived with the two boys in hand, she immediately felt a darkness that pulled at a power buried deep in her soul. Telling the two boys to run away as far and as fast as they could until she could find them, she faced what would soon haunt her until the end of her days. The church was burning in fire black as ink and the scent of blood and brimstone was so strong she could choke on it. The church was completely tainted by the necromancer's mark. When the doors opened to her touch, she watched as each young child from every age infant to toddler was bled and sacrificed by numerous men and women who tasted the power the Old Gods gave to them. That was the day the Siren was awakened. With feathers of crimson and talons sharper then a soldiers blade. That night, Temperance slaughtered those who took the lives of the most innocent of souls. Then she wept on the alter of Ymius, with blood on her hands she wept well into the night.

When morning came and she watched as the power the Old Ones had given the practioners left their bodies, and their shells turned to ash, she cursed Ymius. She begged that he bring back the children he watched die, on bloody knees she prayed that the God of Light would bless the souls lost would find peace and the damned would find no consolation. After months without food, water, or sleep she begged for death. However her mercy came finally, but subtly. One morning, debirs from the roof of the once beautiful temple fell in. A hole was left in the ceiling and then let in the moonlight of the night, it was cast upon the alter that glowed pure white. But also there were splatters of blood that still dripped wet from the surface. As she watched, this blood began to move unnaturally. It flowed across the surface of the white marble until finally it formed a picture. It looked to be a burning equal armed cross. This symbol, one she had never seen before, inspired her with such a passion. But above all, she felt tranquil for the first time in all her life. Before the mass sacrificial ritual, all she wanted was a simple life from magic. But now, she knew there was much more in store for her.

Donning white and her crimson insignia, she traveled Pheraxis fighting for a holy cause as she killed many evil doers and practitioners. During her travels she made many friends, and many enemies most of whom are now dead. For a decade, she alone fought the endless battle against Black Magic and the Old Ones in the name of Ymius. But as the years wore long she wanted nothing more than return to her home and restore her true power and let her soul heal near the heart of The One God. Though something weighed heavy on her mind, the boys that she was once charged with taking care of, where were they. Somehow, she felt that she had been during that short time, the only mother they ever knew. Though she knew that it was a hopeless cause. Nevertheless she returned home to Yria and then began the founding of the Ivory Inquisition. Ivory was the seaside city that would make for the home of the Ivory Inquisition. The building of the temple was a long but well received cause as soon it would be the most amazing feat of architecture Pheraxis would come to know. Soon white silken flags bearing the red insignia would fly in many cities. The holy crusade of the Ivory Inquisition would reign.

Blood baths, massacres, and burnings were all tools of fear that the Inquisition used. Executions of men, mothers, and even children began. Anger as hot as the sun boiled in Temperance's veins as she scoured every corner of Pheraxis on her orders. There was no death she didn't want, no group she wanted safe. People feared the Mother of Mercy and wished they were safe. Desperation frightened Temperance though, she wanted to eradicate the impurities of the world but it was taking too long and the horror of her nightmares were becoming too much. That is until ten years ago when she attended a mass exorcism as the called it, when a Necromancer had been found dealing in darkness. It was a terrible night, one she wasn't likely to forget. As her men were slaughtered and the lost escaped, she reflected and found her deeds were rash. From then on, she would stay locked away in her tower in Ivory only ordering crusades and executions. Even then, her cruelty and merciless nature continued. But the men she trusted with the power to order deaths, were even more so.

Though, the Mother who started it all, would stay hidden away in the Temple where her garden helped her just as she helped it. Her heart however pure, would stay restless. There was darkness deep in the center of her precious lilies. The Syndicate sprung forth like pests under a rock, they would begin to spread their hatred and disgusting ideals like a virus. Though Era hated this new power that challenged her own, she would treat it as the slight threat it was. Her reaches were far, and deep she knew this. But spread fire on old oil, and it will burn on. The rivalry between powers would continue, and recently with the newly built Ivory Temple in Santos it seemed that it was beginning to verge on war. Each leader having built their resources, and ready to test one another in a game of dare. Especially with the whipsers of a visit from Mother Temperance herself, a great honor for everyone in the Santos Temple. But there is a different reason for her visit, a reason much darker then any could guess. Something she knew would happen long ago, when the blood ran freely in symbols that were ancient and wicked.

Not many know what to expect from the Mother of the Inquisition; Old? Young? Haggard? Beautiful? It has been a long time since the world has seen the face that belongs to the Mother of Mercy.

Yria Island is the only civilized Island on Pheraxis which is a huge part of the economy. It is often a site of holidays, and fishing trips for those who live across the Yrian sea on the main continent. Pictured above is the Ivory City and Ivory Harbor, the harbor is a Pheraxis Hub and many people come through Yria to get to the mainland or even into the untraveled waters of the Cyrion Deep. On the smaller island of Ivory City is the Temple of Light, the headquarters of the Ivory Inquisition. The Ivory City is also known as the Holy City just as Yria is the Island of Light. Yria is always warm and tropical, and some of the most rare of herbs and flowers grow in abundance in the deep jungles of Yria. On the the day of Ymius, it actually rains and cleanses the island. Ivory City is surrounded by an impregnable marble wall that is guarded year round by the best Inquisitors the Inquisition has to offer. The Ivorians are quite content with living in the city, and the Yrians are just as happy. Though their mother be merciless, she protects her children and people with the love of a mother. In the past, Temperance made a pilgrimage to each of her island's cities to meet with the people and give charity especially to orphanages, that has changed however. In her stead she sends "The Sisters of Light", who are righteous and kind women guarded by Holy Men. Lethal and cruel men trained by The High Priestess' advisor, Brother Vici.
