Nar'she has little care about Jennifer.

Ignas will want to hang out and watch Tahlia's spirit shenanigans.

Amaia don't give a fuck, she's just gonna hang around, no interest in fucking with Jennifer or ghosts.

jk, she's gonna go after Jennifer because after the end of her collab with Mikan it makes sense for her.

Tahlia is, of course, ghostbusting. (EDIT: Faolan too.)

Sisera will stay with Tahlia

Kalemn will stay.

@Slade @West Your characters have been possessed. You can still have your characters see what is going on, and hear it, and you can describe what the possession is like. In Sisera's case, it's a great deal of hatred toward what he now realizes is someone with Mechanist blood in them. In Baldrik's case, it's just pure maddened rage being unleashed against Kouri.

Mages can banish the spirits out of your bodies with enough raw magic, but it may cause your characters harm, and there's no guarantee that the spirit won't just possess someone else nearby if it doesn't end up banished. Only Tahlia has the capacity to sure-fire banish spirits away.

EDIT

Basically, Tahlia is the captain now. :ferret:

Sorry about the long delay on the IC post. It's time for me to mention a few narrative device changes, though! :ferret:
  1. Mikan is now going to take up a position beside Kouri as a leading protagonist for the duration of your stay in Rheinfeld. This particular "book" is focused around Rheinfeld, and Mikan. It will have a lot to do with the various interpretations of religion and faith via certain characters.
  2. Each player will take a disguise while in town. This may involve physically disguising certain features, or embracing them for what they are. Whatever role you end up taking, they will likely fall in one of the following categories.
    • Foreign Noble: A foreign nobleman or noblewoman, who is visiting either from Liveria or The Free Holds. Kouri will be taking a role in this category, as a Liverian Noble Woman. Other, more foreign nations can be chosen, though Rheinfelder Nobles may not recognize them initially. An NPC can also be convinced to take this role, like Hanus or James.
    • Noble's Personal Entourage: Handmaidens and the like. Only two can be assigned per noble.
    • Bodyguard: A bodyguard for a nobleman or noblewoman. Marcus and Hanus are taking this role, as Free Holder Mercenaries.
    • Commoner Entourage: Whatever non-noble specialists one can imagine that would follow along with a nobleman/noblewoman's caravan. James will be taking a role in this category, as an entertainer. Mikan will be taking a role in this category, as an "entertainer" of other sorts.
  3. Each disguise will have limitations based on their role. Here's the general idea of each.
    • Nobles have the least number of limitations, though will be expected to know The Noble Tongue, and possess proper etiquette. They may go anywhere, though some places they may only go with Rheinfelder escorts.
    • Noble's Personal Entourages can go anywhere with their Nobles, but must stay close to them when in locations outside of the reach of Commoners. They are not allowed to speak against other Nobles, and repeatedly breaking social protocol will result in their being punished. The Noble they are working for will also be punished.
    • Bodyguards may accompany Nobles wherever they wish in commoner areas. When the Noble is guided somewhere Commoners are not allowed to be, the Bodyguards must stay outside. Bodyguards are the only ones allowed to unsheathe their weapons and engage in combat without being arrested, so long as they are acting in self-defense.
    • Commoner Entourages are generally assumed to be low-born people who serve some basic function in a Noble's entourage. They have no more rights than the average Rheinfelder peasant does. On the flip side, they are the least likely to be questioned, and the most likely to be tolerated. They may also find it easier to slip around the city without raising notice.
  4. The party will split into two groups to avoid drawing too much attention to themselves. It may pay to figure out who the best nobles are.
  5. Mages will not have access to their magic for the duration of their stay in Rheinfeld's capital. Even if they attempted to cast magic, in many areas, they would find themselves heavily suppressed. Nonetheless, if for whatever reason a mage decides to use their magic, it will take a few minutes for them to regain their magical powers, and it will draw most of the city's Templar straight to their location.
  6. What you choose to do here will have serious future ramifications, both on this role play, and on any future role plays. Choose carefully...

I'll give y'all a couple weeks to decide on what you're doing, (say, until around the 9th of November) and then I'll write another post to move us all forward toward the fun stuff. Those who don't post within this time frame will be considered inactive. Yes, you can decide on your character's role OOCly and then simply justify it in the IC. Pick whatever seems the most fun to you!

@Seba @LimeyPanda @Slade @Orion @West @HerziQuerzi @Holmishire @Jorick @RoranHawkins @Snakey @Grothnor

  • Thank You
Reactions: Holmishire
Baldrik fits most likely a bodyguard. Waving around a Musket with a Bayonet on it and calling himself a commoner wouldn't yield him many bonus points with the locals in his deception.

Hrmmmm... Are we going to be able to find some kind of clothing along the way to up our disguise game? I feel like a lot of us probably look kind of ragged. If finding some kind of dress is possible, Amaia will want to go as Kouri's handmaiden. I think I'll have to do a little collab with Mikan to see what she thinks about that possibility before deciding. If that doesn't seem likely then she'll want to go as a bodyguard.

Ignas will want to be a noble's commoner entourage as their personal secretary/scribe/treasurer/whatever. HOWEVER, if nobody else is around to fill in for second noble slot (say Kad is too busy to make Samuel take on that burden), he could be convinced to play the role. It would require convincing though, because Ignas would never dream of volunteering for the job. :P

Rahim does not know what any of these things is.

Rahim is confused, and just wants to have his axe.

Rahim volunteers for Bodyguard, he guesses.

James can fabricate some with his unique powers. Albeit, he can't produce things for everyone--not without killing himself... And triggering nearby Templar.

Nar'she can be either version of entourage.

Grothnor = Bodyguard.

Probably a free holder Merc, since he's actually a free holder.

Cennick would do either noble or bodyguard. Convincing him to do anything else would be difficult.

Sisera will go as a nobleman, since he knows the language and customs
