New York City; A metropolis plagued with crime and violence. To no surprise, a large amount of heroes are assigned to New York City. Their's is a job of securing and protecting the countless innocents in the Big Apple, a job which is no easy undertaking. Heroes die, are captured, or even potentially turn to the wrong side of the law. Despite the intense efforts of the heroes of New York City, crime is still rampant. However, behind the veil of thefts, murders, and fraud, there is a greater sense of danger that has permeated the City, as of late. Something isn't quite right, and the very streets of the City gasp out for a breath, before the coming storm drowns them out.

-----------------------------

S+ Class - The members of the S+ Class are completely anonymous, although it is widely known that the S+ Class only has 3 members. Not much is known about the S+ Class, as they have never been seen.

S Class - Only a handful of heroes are labeled into this class. One must possess high levels of intelligence, expert judgement, and a good handle of their powers. S Class heroes handle only the most difficult of missions, and are typically household names across the world.

A Class - Not very many heroes make it to this class. A Class represents some of the most exceptional heroes the world has, and for good reason. A Class handles the majority of more difficult missions, and only amounts to a small percentage of total heroes.

B Class - B Class heroes are either experienced enough, or skilled enough, to be considered leaders of the lower classes. Often lower class heroes will be paired up with an B Class hero in their duties.

C Class - C Class is the largest of the classes, considered to be of average power or skill. The powers here are nothing to scoff at, but usually lack the might of other classes.

D Class - Individuals barely considered to be Powered are put into this class. Used best with conjunction with police forces, or as aides for other missions, D Class is where the weakest of heroes are put into.

Name: Luke Wilson

Hero Name: Crane

Gender: Male

Age: 26

Hero Rank: D Class

Powers: Besides being an expert in Wushu Martial Arts, Luke posseses a rather unexplored power that he gained from his time spent in Tibet, called the Auxia. The Auxia has many different abilities, each one severely draining Luke's energy. This means that the Auxia is impossible to use constantly for Luke, and he instead must rely on his other training.

The Auxia:

Increased Durability and Strength - The Auxia allows Luke to possess a degree of superhuman strength and durability for a short period of time. While nothing greatly impressive, Luke could easily outpower a normal person 10x over with this. However, a normal hero with super strength is likely stronger than what the Auxia can provide.

Increased Reflexes - The Auxia grants Luke a measure of enhanced reflexes in order to react to the actions around him. Once again, no where near the superhuman version of this, Luke still surpasses the reflexes of a normal person.

Secondary Powers - While extremely rare, the Auxia has a habit of manifesting powers, although very weak, that Luke needs or could help him out of a desperate situation. This powers can manifest sometimes as slightly increased regeneration, or even the ability for Luke to temporarily increase his speed.

Appearance: Brown curly locks don Luke's hair, coupled with lime green eyes. Luke's body is toned, but slim. No where near exuding muscles or athletic tone, he more possesses a body of a incredibly fit introvert. Silm and toned, he normally goes without a hero outfit and instead opts for whatever he has on hand. Except for an occasional mask.

Hero Outfit: Besides an occasional mask, Luke does not normally bother with a outfit, instead opting for whatever he has on hand, since he has no need to hide his identity.

Short History: Luke's early childhood was spent with his extremely religious family in China. His parents were both missionaries, which turned into it's own kind of danger in the extremely oppressive nation of China. Eventually, things came to a hand, and his parents were arrested, Luke only barely escaping. His parents were disappeared by the Chinese government, with Luke only surviving by the goodwill of a few families who were willing to take him in. Finally, Luke was adopted by a Tibetan monastery, putting him out of harm's way of persecution. Spending the next 13 years of his life as a monk in Tibet, a series of events led to Luke becoming the sacred holder of the Auxia, a legendary power held by the monastery he resided at. It wasn't long before Luke left the monastery, due to his own desire to do good in the world, much to the chargin of the monks. Due to Luke's age, and already extensive training by monks, the Association allowed Luke to become a hero without attending Kadic. He now serves in New York, and has for 2 years, mainly helping police officers and stopping petty crimes.

Name: Kyra Lane

Hero Name: Katalyst

Gender: Female

Age: 24

Hero Rank: B Class

Powers: Kyra can manipulate the 4 Elements. Earth is her strongest connection. She is able to control not only the earth but most things connected to the earth i.e. plants, trees etc. Fire is trickier but Kyra is proficient in this area. Wind and water are by far her weakest powers, but she is able to do minor things with them.

Kyra is also a master at hand to hand combat. Her connection the earth gives her the ability to detect shifts in her opponent's weight, thus allowing her to almost predict what their next move is-extremely helpful, though not an exact science.

Appearance: Kyra stands at 5'6 and weighs 140. Her well-toned body leaves no doubt that she is extremely athletic. She keeps her cocoa colored hair at a mid-back length, which she often wears in a French braid. Her eyes are a striking green, that have often been referred to as emeralds. When she isn't in her hero attire, she's guaranteed to be in something comfortable. She only likes to dress up when absolutely necessary because she feels it leaves her vulnerable with limited mobility.

Hero Outfit: Blue spandex suit with a green vine-like design making its way across the body of the suit. The left leg is the only part that remains blue; untouched by the design. The suit is made with reinforced fibers that are resistant to cuts. She wears a blue mask across her eyes to help with anonymity. A purple K is printed across her chest.

Short History: Kyra was raised in a picture-perfect household. At least until she discovered her powers at age 12. After that everything seemed to fall apart. But Kyra escaped the mess as soon as she was able by attending Kadic Academy. Her second year she signed up for a tournament and it proved to be a rather defining part of her life. She defeated probably the most powerful student at the academy, but it came at a cost. Kyra was injured during the fight. She broke her left leg and hip and endured a concussion. She spent months recovering which set her back in every aspect of her training. She had to spend another year rebuilding her abilities. So, it wasn't until 2 years after graduating from Kadic that she was able to be assigned to a hero class. They put her in C Class because of the injuries she suffered, and it was only through sheer persistence and a full year of kicking ass that she was able to convince them to move her to B Class. Still a class lower than she always dreamed of being, however she was proud to be a B Class hero. With only one year of heroism under her belt Kyra embarks on her first year as a B Class Hero.

~ Luke's head spun, his vision blurred. He could feel some kind of hot liquid wetting his hair and going down the back of his neck. He was sore. Oh, so very sore. Every part of him ached and begged him to just sit still for a while, but Luke knew that wasn't possible. ~

The last 36 hours had been one of constant stress and a manhunt for a rogue powered individual. Luckily, Luke had gotten the lead on everyone else, and went to take on the rogue powered at a shoddy apartment building, ready to bring him in. It'd be a lie if Luke said he didn't do it for the glory and recognition that'd come with it. While, Luke, while a weaker Powered, was more than capable than the rest of his class, which had earned him the right to mostly operate without a partner. However, the majority of Luke's roughly 2 years in New York City had been boring, and rather uneventful, something that greatly bothered him. Of course, he could of just called it quits and swore off his powers, and try to live life as many other Powered individuals did; Swearing off their powers and getting a normal job and having a normal life.

That wasn't for Luke, though.

~ It took Luke a moment, to adjust, but he had finally realized what had happened. The Powered criminal possessed near-superhuman amounts of strength and had thrown Luke through the second story window, out onto a parked car. What Luke had hoped would be a quick and easy arrest, or takedown, in the middle of a quiet night, had instead turned into a heavy brawl, with Luke taking more hits than he was dishing out.

The entire roof of the car had been smashed in, making it nearly impossible to even enter the vehicle. Luke groaned as he pressed himself up, sitting upright on the vehicle. Nothing was broken, amazingly, but Luke would be feeling the aches and pains for a few weeks, at least.

Looking up, Luke spotted the Powered criminal looking down at him. He was much younger than Luke had anticipated, but most rogue Powereds start young. He couldn't of been older than 17, which is likely what allowed Luke to last as long as he did. The kid was wanted for a slew of crimes, and it was likely he was affiliated with a nasty street gang.

Luke shoved himself off the car, landing on the pavement, but before Luke could even manage to make it to the apartment building, to head back up to the room, the Powered criminal had vanished from the window sill. It was obvious the kid got away. Sucking up his pride Luke knew what he'd have to do. ~

Luke hadn't slept much in the last 36 hours, since the start of the case. On top of the lack of sleep, his injuries made his body scream in pain anytime he moved. Not that Luke would ever mention it to the Association, or else it'd just give them more reason to bench him for a while.

Luke lounged in a chair in a small lobby at a small Association's Office that was in Queens. While Luke was assigned to the entirety of New York City, and could operate anywhere in the city, he was technically assigned to the Queens branch of the Association, a small but dedicated group of rather lower classed heroes, none of which Luke had had much interaction with. Although, now Luke would be forcibly paired with a partner.

After reporting the incident to his superiors at the HQ and police, Luke was told to report immediately to the Offices. It was late when he got here, almost 4:00 am, with most of the staff still gone from work and sleeping, but his handler at the office, and a few other staff were there.

Luke proceeded to be heavily lectured about the consequences of his actions, and the fact that he could of been removed from the Association for this. He was, however, praised for finding the fugitive on his own. Overall, his handler dropped the real news on him. This would force Luke to be partnered, at least for the foreseeable future.

His partner would be a recently promoted C-Class hero, who had already made a name for herself. Due to her recent promotion, she was being transferred to New York City. Luke's handler saw the perfect opportunity to not only put a leash on Luke, but also quickly get the B-Class into the field.

Luke rubbed his temple, as he sat in the lobby. It was now nearly 10:00am, a full 36 hours siince the start of the case. Wearing little more than street clothes, jeans, black shoes, and a white t shirt with a denim jacket. Not to mention the rather uninspired clothing, Luke looked like hell. His face was slightly bruised, specks of blood stained a bit of his clothing, and dirt covered his jeans. At least Luke had a chance to shower at the Office facilities before meeting his new partner.

All Luke could want for at this moment was for this to be over with. He wanted to go back to the apartment building he was assigned to by the Association, rest and eat. Luke wasn't particularly thrilled about having his own partner, but at least, from what he had been told, she was quite the impressive person to be able to climb the rank so quickly.

Kyra was so nervous as she headed to the Association's Office to meet her partner. She had expected as much when she was first promoted. Her mixed feelings left her confused. On one hand she had already proven that she was well-equipped to handle hero activities so why did she need a partner. On the other hand she was kind of glad to have some one to watch her back. She passed through the lobby, now teeming with life, as the work day was well under way by 10 a.m. Nobody said a word to her. Instead they just assumed this was no big deal and that she'd made this walk a million times. Which she had, but never as a B-class Hero. She didn't allow her confidence to waiver until she was in the elevator alone. Kyra reflected on what she knew about the man as she watched the numbers climb. He was D-class and had been bestowed the honor of the Auxia from the monastery he was raised in. That's about all she knew. It took her less time to recall the information than it did for the elevator to ding for her floor.

As she entered the office where she was summoned, the man she saw was not what she expected. He was young and looked nothing like a monk. And for a moment she questioned the reasoning behind pairing her with this D-class hero.
"Good morning, sir," she nodded to the man behind the desk, whom she could only assume would be her new handler. Kyra stood just inside the doorway uncertainty wracking her nerves.

The man behind the desk, whom would be the handler for the team of Luke and Kyra stood up, "Good morning, Katalyst." He spoke, grabbing a handful of papers as he did so, and arranging them in a precise order.

Luke stood up from his chair. The woman before him was definitely wasn't what he was expecting. He had heard little of her, including what her powers could be. Although, glancing at her body, Luke guessed it might be some form of strength of speed. Something he realized would be very helpful. Tearing his gaze away, he turned his attention to the handler.

"My name is Agent Kenneth, and I'll be the one handling your team. You'll be the only D and B class team in New York City." He started, shuffling his papers slightly as he spoke, " Which means that Katalyst will be the official leader of the team, and make the decisions." As Kenneth spoke, he handed both Luke and Kyra each a folder of documents, "I know it's rather odd to throw you into the fire so early, but this case is important to us, and considering that Crane has experience with it already, we decided it'd be best to assign it to the both of you." Kenneth finished with a sigh and a shrug

The folders contained information on the case Luke had been chasing for the last 36 hours. The Powered Criminal that had put him in his sorry state had murdered the head of a powerful corporation in Manhattan. The motive was unknown, and so was the criminals location. The Powered individual had been codenamed to "Gold." A black male, no older than 18, and most likely associated with a gang called 'The 8th Street Kings'. Besides that, not much information was had, besides the fact that Gold was a high priority.

"The NYPD and a couple of C-Classes are currently on this case. You'll be officially added to it." Kenneth continued, crossing his arms of his chest, "If you find the location of the criminal, alert us before taking in action." A sideways glance was shot to Luke. "I have no idea for where you'd start, but Crane might have a few ideas."

Luke shifted uncomfortably. Not only was he, the older and more veteran team member, being regulated to listen to Kyra's orders, but the case was also being handed off to another team at the same time. While the matter bugged Luke, he didn't speak up or voice his concern.

Kenneth looked over Kyra and Luke, "If you have any questions, I'd love to answer them. Otherwise, you're free to continue on your duties." He said as he began to take his seat behind his desk. Suddenly, Kenneth stopped, as if forgetting something, and grabbed a set of keys from behind his monitor, outstretching them to Kyra, "I almost forgot, here's your keys for your assigned apartment room. It's in the same building as Crane's. Actually just a few rooms down the hall." Kenneth added with a small smile, before finally taking his seat.

Luke glanced at Kyra, only for a moment, before he himself flipping through the folder he was given. It was mostly information he already knew, given that he had been on the case for a while now. Without much preamble, and maybe with a hint of passive-aggressiveness, Luke started for the door to leave.

Kyra just nodded as her new handler, Agent Kenneth, filled her in on what she needed to know. Unfortunately that was not a lot of information. She found herself stealing glances at her new partner. She was handed the keys to her new apartment and basically dismissed. She watched as Crane just headed out the door without so much as a word. It took Kyra a minute to get her wits about her and she followed him out.

She had to jog a couple of steps to catch up. "So you'll show me to my apartment?" She asked tentatively as she fell in step beside him. "Oh I'm Kyra. Katalyst. Whatever. I'm still getting the hang of this hero stuff." She blushed a deep red as she stumbled her way through the introduction. Kyra gripped the folder she'd been given tightly in her hand. She watched the man who she'd be spending a lot of time with and realized he was... annoyed? She couldn't be 100% certain but that's the impression she got. But that couldn't be right. She was good at her job and he was lucky to have her on his team. Kyra tried to hold in her own annoyance as she aimlessly followed this hero, whom she knew nothing about.

Luke put the folder underneath his arm, and glanced over at Kyra, "Yeah." Luke answered, simply, to Kyra's question. After Kyra introduced herself, Luke stopped as the pair exited out onto the streets of Queens, "I'm Luke Wilson." He said, out stretching his hand. The barest hint of politeness was there, as it appeared Luke had other things on his mind, although it was obvious the he was being very curt with Kyra.

Luke stood for a moment on the street, glancing around. After giving a deep sigh, he turned back to Kyra, "I'm sorry for being so short. It's just....It's been a long couple of days." Luke admitted, letting out another sigh and looking away from Kyra, "How about we go to my room? We can talk about the case and everything there." Luke asked, as he turned to start the walk to the apartment building both him and Kyra would be residing at.

Luke would share some information with his new partner, have some tea, do some meditation and take a quick 2 hour nap. Then he'd be back in fighting form and ready to take on the case, again. For now, he just needed some peace and quiet, and something soothing to drink.

Kyra followed the man out feeling her own irritation rising. She was just to the point of speaking her mind as they exited the building. Then he turned and stuck out her hand. As he introduced himself Kyra felt a smile start at her lips. "Luke." She said, the smile lifting her cheeks. "All right. Nice to meet you."
Kyra turned to follow him as he gave an explanation for his curtness. And just like that the rest of her annoyance slipped away. "Yeah. That sounds good" She was more than ready to get started on this case.

Kyra couldn't help but look at all the hustle and bustle of New York City as she followed Luke. She'd never had the chance to really pay attention to it. She was going to like it here.

The pair eventually reached the apartment building, after walking for nearly half a mile, with Luke wordlessly leading Kyra. The apartment building itself was nothing spectacular, just rather worn looking brick, nearly 4 stories tall. It was definitely one of the nicer buildings in the area, but it still didn't measure up that well.

As Luke stepped instead the building, he immediately made his way to the elevator. Surprisingly, the lobby was almost completely empty. "Not many people are actually in this building. The Association owns it. I think only 5 whole other people actually live here." Luke explained, as the pair boarded the elevator.

Luke pressed the button for the 4th floor and the elevator gradually began to lift. Sticking his hands in his pocket, Luke glanced down at the floor. ~ Talk, tea, meditate, sleep. ~ He thought, as the elevator began to lift higher. "So, what are your powers?" Luke asked, rather out of the blue, while the elevator continued it's slow climb.

Kyra took in the sight of her new home. It was nice yet nondescript. Which was probably a good move to help the heroes blend in. "Are they all heroes?" She took a place leaning in the corner of the elevator as it started to climb. "Oh. Umm." Kyra mumbled, caught off guard by the question. "I'm an Elementalist. Earth is my strongest power. You?" Kyra knew he possessed the Auxia but she didn't have any details.

"Only one of them is." Luke replied, "but the rest also work for the Association.". Luke paused for a moment afterwards, before answering Kyra's question. It didn't surprise Luke that someone with elemental powers was a B-Class. Just as Luke was about to reply, the doors of the elevator opened up, revealing the 4th floor. Luke paused for a moment before stepping out of the elevator, and leading Kyra to his room. "It's complicated." Luke simply replied.

As the pair reached Luke's room, room 411, he pointed down the hall, to a room labeled 416. "That should be your's. You might want to consider using some of your stipend from the Association to change it up. The Association don't really spend a lot of money on providing decent living for us." Luke said, slight annoyance in his voice.

Luke opened up his door and revealed the room. It was definitely minimalist to say the least. It looked as if Luke had actually removed some of the furniture from the small living quarters. There was no TV, no couch, Simply a refrigerator, a sink,, a small stove, a rather small table with two chairs, and a carefully trimmed Bonsai tree on a wooden stand. From the main room, two other doors could be seen, most likely the bedroom and bathrooms.

Luke closed the door behind Kyra, taking his shoes off carefully as he did so. "I have tea, and coffee, if you'd like a drink." Luke offered, as he set upon it making himself tea, pulling out the proper equipment. As he started preparations for drinks, he turned to look at Kyra, "They told me you became a B-Class after only spending a year as a C-Class." Luke mentioned, before turning back to his work. His tone didn't seem to suggest he was impressed, or wonderment. It seemed much more a statement than anything else, as if just stating aloud probably the only fact he knew about his partner.

A frown pulled at Kyra's mouth at Luke's "it's complicated." He was going to be her partner but obviously getting to know him was going to be a challenge. As they came to a stop in front of his door she noticed that she could actually see her own door from here. She was itching to check it out and add her own personal touch to it. She also wondered if anyone else lived on this floor. But she'd figure that out soon enough.

Upon entering Luke's apartment she noticed how simple it was. She couldn't decide if she was surprised or if this simple place fit Luke. It's hard to get a read on people who give you nothing to go on. "I'll have coffee, please." She followed Luke's lead and removed her own boots. As she carefully walked toward the only seats in here she stopped to appreciate the well taken care of bonsai tree. Kyra had to keep reminding herself that he came from a monastery.

She took a seat at one of the chairs and removed her mask. She didn't really need to hide her identity here. "Oh. Yeah. Guess I wasn't as handicapped as they thought I'd be." Kyra could play the vague game too. "So you've been working on this case?" She had given up trying to figure him out and instead just moved on to business.

Luke finished the preparations for both their drinks, and sat down across from Kyra, passing her a cup of coffee. "I was on it from the start." Luke started as he took a long draw from his small cup of green tea. He closed his eyes for a second and rubbed his temple with his free hand.

"The kid was a busboy at a club in Manhattan. As the businesses man was leaving, Gold shot him." Luke added, sitting down his tea cup, "Several witnesses pointed out his description to the police and it was passed to us. He disappeared for a long while, but I managed to track him down. He was hiding in a relative's apartment building in the Queens. I was the first to find it out." Luke's voice trailed off as he picked up his tea cup and took another sip from it.

"He ended up getting away from me. Last I heard, he had disappeared again. Right now, no motivation has been tied to it, and it doesn't seem like it was a conspiracy. The police questioned all the workers at the club, and didn't turn anything up." Luke added, finishing his cup of tea. "I think I know where I can find him next, but he probably won't show up there until late tonight. He knows it wouldn't be safe to move during the day." Luke revealed. It was a piece information he hadn't told his superiors, and something it looked like he was uncomfortable sharing it with Kyra. Luke studied Kyra closely, seeing how she was going to react to this information, as he spoke up once more, "It has to be just us that brings him in. Anymore than just the two of us could scare him away before we got there."

It was a lot to drop all of a sudden on his freshly minted partner, but despite the wear and tear Luke had suffered through for the past 36 hours, it was evident his mind still had one true focus left, and it was bringing the Powered criminal in.

Kyra sipped her coffee as she listened to the details of the case. And then Luke dropped some new information on her. She could feel her eyes widen with surprise.
"I...no. Agent kenneth said to call before taking action." Kyra could hardly process what he was suggesting. All her life she'd followed the rules and look where she was now. It had always done her right. She couldn't imagine not following orders on such an important case. "This is a big case. AND my first day in B-class. And you're suggesting I not follow a direct order?" She couldnt believe this man would be her partner. This won't ever work out.
"If this gets screwed up it's my ass on the line" Kyra sat back in her chair and crossed her arms.

Luke sighed, getting up from the table and refilling his tea, but did not return to his seat. After a small drink, Luke turned back to Kyra. "I won't screw this up. I promise." Luke pleaded, with actual sincerity in his voice. "Let me go then, and you stay here. I can handle it this time. Now that I've fought him once, he won't get the better of me, again." Luke's words were firmed, but the nature of his argument led one to believe that maybe he was gloryseeking, or even his pride was hurt from his first attempt.

Luke sighed, and took another sip of his tea, "I've been a D-Class for two years now, and I'm never going to be more than that if I'm always having to call in bigger guns to come help me." Luke explained, finishing his second cup and placing the empty vessel in his sink, "With you there, I bet he'll come peacefully, anyways. It's two-on-one." Luke finished, coolly. The whole situation made him agitated but he refused to show it, and he even more deeply refused to not share the extent of his information with his partner. Luke normally preferred to work alone, but even he wasn't as hotheaded as to sabotage a partnership before it even began. "Ultimately, I don't think I can stop you from making the decisions. Kenneth told you that you should be making the decisions, and I probably couldn't even stop you if I wanted." Luke added, as he turned on the faucet and washed his hands.

Kyra put her head in her hands. This was unbelievable. "Obviously I can't let you go alone. But I can't believe you're asking me to risk everything I've worked for just to have a little glory." She watched Luke as he washed his hands. "I'm supposed to be calling the shots and Kenneth is going to think that this was my decision. So if we do this then you're taking the fall." She pointed at him in an agitated way. "And I'm going to need a better reason than you glorifying yourself as a hero." Kyra managed to keep from yelling even though she was incredibly frustrated.

She picked up her abandoned coffee and took a big gulp. Her face puckered up as if she'd sucked on a lemon. It had grown cold. She let out a sigh and sat the cup down, probably a little more forcefully than she intended. "How do you even know he'll be there?" She didn't have a lot of information to go on and had not grown to trust Luke. So she was going to need something a little more concrete.

Amazingly, Luke kept his calm throughout Kyra's entire response, just shifting his glance down to the tiles of his kitchen area. After Kyra finished, Luke looked back up at her, "It's not about glory." Luke said, perhaps partially lying, "It's about doing it the way that it'll work. I made a mistake last time, and it won't happen again." Luke added, placing his hands on a counter, holding his gaze on Kyra.

"He'll be there. It's the only other place he can go without the police or more Association members finding him. It's a bar, or some sort of club, in Harlem." Luke explained, pushing himself off the counter and turning to look out a window, "It's his gang's territory. It's the only other place he could go. If he hasn't already tried to leave the City." Luke finished, turning back to Kyra.

Kyra returned Lukes gave, making sure her anger shone brightly in her eyes. "How does the Association not know about the club!?" She asked incredulously. broke the stare and began pacing Luke's kitchen floor. For the first time, maybe, ever she doubted the efficiency of her employers.

"You're putting me in a tough spot here." Kyra put her hands in a praying motion and shut her eyes. Letting out a deep breath she looked at Luke, putting her hands on her hips, "What's your plan?" Kyra wasn't completely convinced this was the right move, but something in her gut was pulling her towards Luke.

Luke sighed as Kyra's anger seem to only grow as Luke tried to press his plan on her. His eyebrows furrowed, as he went and retook his old seat. "The Association doesn't normally pay much attention to things they consider to be lower class cases. They would barely care about this case if it wasn't for the fact that the police are in an uproar about it. So of course they don't know things, like about the club. I didn't even know about it until I found out for myself almost 10 hours ago." Luke explained, as he stood back up.

Luke grabbed Kyra's coffee cup, and went to the sink, washing the dish as he considered his next answer to Kyra. "I'm sorry for putting you into this spot. I didn't ask for it, and you probably didn't either, but the Association put us in this tough spot." Luke began, finishing washing the cups. "I want to walk in, and attempt to talk him into coming in. If I can sit down and talk to him, I can reason with him, especially since you're there. It's likely the bar will be mostly empty anyway." Luke went on, as he took off his denim jacket, and walked across the room, past the pacing Kyra. The removal of his jacket helped further highlight the pain that had been dealt to him by the criminal.

After hanging up his jacket, Luke turned back to Kyra, "If you don't feel comfortable with all of this, you don't have to do it. Just forget this conversation took place, and I'll go tonight. We can say you were asleep and I sneaked out. They wouldn't be able to fault you for that." Luke was understanding, and it showed on his slightly bruised face. He didn't want his partner in anymore trouble than she wanted to, "I just assumed it'd be best to lay everything out for you, considering we're likely to be partners for a while."
