The Girl, the Yokai, and the Promise

Yukina's walk to school was a long one. It wasn't too bad though. She didn't really mind it since it walked trough some of the most beautiful places in the town. Yukina swung her bag lightly as she gazed up at the budding trees. Winter was almost over. Soon, the cherry blossoms would bloom and she would be graduated from high school. She didn't really care about school. In fact, she didn't really wanted to go to school. High school was optional for her. Being that she wanted to work at the temple, she had no need for a formal education. She didn't see the need for her to waste the time there when she could be working. Sadly, her mother did not see it that way and her uncle agreed. She thought they would secretly hope that with her going to school would make her want to be something else. Sadly for them, it made her passion for the temple grow. Now was the final weeks of her schooling and soon she would be free to do what ever she pleased. As she walked, she pasted by the café that her and Kazuma went to when he broke the news to her. She stopped as she remembered yesterday and her dream that she had. Speaking of futures, was she going to be able to work at the temple without risking everyone that visited? What would happen if another yokai attacked during visiting hours? Was this going to be her life from now on? Constantly fearing, waiting for the ball to drop? She shook her head. No, she couldn't think of that now. She need to think about the present and the present only. Fearing for the future was only going hold her back. She continued her walk towards her school. It was going to be relaxing day since most of the classes were going to be gearing toward students wishing to take university entrance exams. Maybe she could spend that time looking up lore on the Shenshi......

"Wow...this is some walk, and she does this everyday? Humans are really odd." Kazuma would mumble under his breath as he continued to follow Yukina while also looking at the humans he passed. So this was the daily life of those who were deemed 'normal', is seemed bit boring but also kind of nice. He liked to laze around now and again when he had no work to do but it seemed now he couldn't get that chance for awhile. It was probably almost the time they cherry blossoms would finally show themselves but he was probably going to miss it, no matter how much he loved them, Yukina and her safety was much more important and his number one priority. But his thoughts turned back to the girl going to school and becoming eighteen, he was curious about how school was but if her birthday was before her year ended, that was likely going to cause a few problems if any yokai decided to visit during those hours. So the wolf would have to find someway to be nearby just incase something like that situation did infact happen, while he could always use the winds to conceal his presence, it drained his power and energy as he continued to do so. But he couldn't make it so he would be a new student, looking at his reflection before a brief moment, he sighed. Judging from human years, he probably looked to be in his early twenties, twenty-two to be exact, maybe he could make himself an instructor ,or a teacher as they were called now. Finally snapping himself from his thoughts, the wolf sped up a little so he could catch up to Yukina, while he would remain invisible to other humans and most yokai, she was a special case and would be able to see him. "Good morning, how'd you sleep?" He finally asked her with a cheerful grin once he arrived on her left side and slowed down to match the girl's pace. "And don't worry, I'm concealed from other humans so you don't have to worry about any rumors and as an added bonus, even as you talk to me, to them they can't hear us and it will just seem that you're just quietly walking."

Yukina nearly leaped out of her skin causing her to stop again. "How many times do I have tell you to not sneak up on me on that?" she scowled. She turned to meet his gaze. The view of his face hit her like a ton of bricks. Memories of her dream flooded her mind. The image of his cold dead body in her arms burned in her mind. She was almost dumbfounded for a moment. Here he was, chipper and excited to see her. He knew full well that being with her was dangerous, and yet here he was. She quickly shook her head and looked away. "Just don't do it again." she said, continuing her walk. She brushed her hair to the side. "And I slept fine thank you..." she said, glancing to the side at him. It didn't surprise her that he was here. He said he was going to protect her and escorting her to school seemed like just one part of the job. This walk could be very awkward. Maybe she should say something? She decided to go for it.... "And you? How did you sleep" she asked, letting her sentence trickle off a little....

Kazuma arched a brow upon seeing the reaction the girl had from hearing his voice and he stopped momentarily when she did. "Uh....twice now? But if you want to be technical, I didn't sneak up on you, I said something was I was right beside you, you're fault for being oblivious." He would tease while meeting her scowl with a mischievous look. Their time together was going to be really enjoyable, especially if he could tease her like this when she was least expecting it. Now his playful and mischievous side was loving it, oh how he could imagine Yukina's face if he did in fact become a temporary teacher in her school; it was absolutely priceless and he wanted to see it now more than anything. "Yes ma'am." He have her a salute before once again walking by her side. "That's good to hear." He replied, with a lopsided grin and his eyes forward when she would glance at him. Still, the main reason for him to become a teacher would be to have an actual and easier means to enter the school and stay on the look out for any yokai posing as a student or another staff member. "Me?" Taking a moment to ponder her question, the wolf shrugged in response. Seeing your dead father and younger brothers wasn't something he count as 'good'. "I slept fairly well, thank you."

Yukina nodded and looked back toward where she was walking. She didn't even to think to ask where he was sleeping. She assumed he had a place in the area that he was able to stay in and keep an eye on her. She played with the handle of her bag as she tired to think of something else to say. If he was going to be around like this, she should at least try to make friends. Right? "So...." she started, rubbing the back of her neck with one hand. What was she suppose to talk to him about? They use to be such good friends. They would talk constantly, spending hours just listening to the other. But what about now? It had been forever since then and Yukina had not had much practice with other people. "I-uh......how....uh....how does the area look? Any signs of any big scarey yokai yet?" she asked. Was that seriously all she could think of? She scolded herself. Surely, she could have thought something better than that. She waited for a respond all the same. If they were going to talk, at least this was a start....

Why couldn't his father have visited at a better time instead of right now when he needed to be focused? Kazuma couldn't spend his energy trying to think about his dream and why his father had decided to appear and give him such a cryptic speech. Plus it also felt like that wasn't the only thing he had to say, hopefully the old wolf wouldn't disturb his sleep again, he was going to need his energy to put up with his clan and also guarding Yukina. Upon hearing her voice, he turned his head to look back at her curiously as she then trailed off? Was she nervous or scared about something, or did she just not like having him around? He doubted it, she got sick of him, she would have been blunt and told him there and then if that was the case. Then the wolf arched a brow as she seemed to have trouble at first about asking him if he had seen any yokai around. "Looks fine to me, I don't sense nor smell any." He would comment while moving a hand to comb through his hair. "I did see a small fry after dropping you off and I had it send a message throughout the yokai realm. If anything happens, I'll protect you, they'll have to go through me to get to you." He then stated with a slight head nod and the winds around him would whip up slightly in response to his declaration. "I don't go back on my word, I will keep you safe."

Yukina just shook her head and gave a small smile. "Still cocky as ever, I see...." The smile faded quickly. She didn't to seem too happy. It was good to know that he hadn't changed. He was always a cocky kid. He would often try to show off and brag about his skills. She remembered that one time when they were little, he tried to show off his climbing skills on some rocks near a river on the mountain-side. Unfortunately, his balance had not been fully developed yet and he wiped out. He cried and cried as Yukina had to help him get cleaned up.do it. She patted his head and told him that it was okay. It took a few minutes for him to calm down but even through the tears, he still swore he could do it. That cocky stubbornness grew with him and it was good to know that one thing she loved about him stayed....Like....one the thing she liked about him.....

They finally arrived at Yukina's school. It was a small one and most of the kids were just locals that grew up in the area. In fact, Yukina was the only person to have not gone to middle school with everyone. When she entered the school, most friend groups had already bonded and weren't very welcoming to new people. It didn't help that she wasn't super friendly either. Bullies were never a problem but more of a nuisance. Yukina never put any mind to the other students anyways. She wasn't there to make friends. It was still a little early so there wasn't many student coming in. Yukina stopped and turned to look at Kazuma. "Okay so, we're here. So..." she said, picking again at the handle of her bag. "Don't get caught on the grounds. They will try to kick you out by force and we all know that won't go over well..." She turned to leave, but wasn't quite finished. "You can stay here and wait for me....if you want....just don't bee seen..." Her cheeks burned. "I'll.....I'll see you later" she said and she walked away into the school grounds....

Kazuma chuckled happily while looking at her with a smirk. Then he pushed his thumb against his chest, "You call it being cocky, I call it being confident. And if I recall correctly, it used to get a few laughs out of you whenever I would fail miserably." The wolf would notice her smile leave and he would sigh softly. They really were no longer as close as they used to be, now it was hard just to get her to smile and once she did, it would quickly disappear and once again she would wear her mask to hide herself. It was going to be a hell of a lot of work to break through her mask and befriend her once again, but it would be worth the time and effort. Though she had a point, he used to be and still was, cocky and it seemed to grow as he did and could be considered a fault or weakness. Along with being somewhat overprotective and extremely loyal to those close to him, especially Yukina. But too himself, his cocky stubbornness and loyally was also a strength that helped him do what needed to be done.

"So, this is what a school looks like? Yikes, my mansion in the woods is larger then this place; people really come here to learn?"
The thought and look of the school baffled him immensely but also gave him an idea. The building really didn't seem by much and he could tell the other students weren't too fond of those who weren't apart of their group, they acted the same way as some yokai. Though humans often thought themselves unique, a lot of their actions were those yokai had done while humans were still rubbing sticks together to make their primitive fire, and that thought brought a faint smile to his lips. Then once Yukina began to talk, he turned towards her curiously and to show she had his full and undivided attention throughout. "Don't get caught on the grounds even though I'm currently concealed from the sight of normal humans, got it." He raised his hand up in a salute as his smile turned into a teasing smirk. Then he moved his body to watch he leave and his smirk turned into a grin. "Okay, I'll make sure no one sees me. Have fun at school!" He moved his hand to give her a small wave. Then he also walked into the school grounds after using some of power to give him an acceptance ticket to the school.

Once Yukina would arrive in her classroom, her principal would be sending by the desk as a young man in a suit had his back turned and seemed to be writing something on the board. "Good, it seems you're all here so I won't have to repeat what I'm about to say. Mr. Kowazou, has been having some troubles at home and could no longer come to act out his duties as a teacher, so we have tired a temporary one to act as your class's since you all only have a few weeks left." Then he turned to look at the young man who had just finished writing his name on the board. "Would you like to introduce yourself to the class?" And the man nodded and turned to face the students with a pleasant, innocent, grin. "It's a pleasure to meet all of you," He would pull out a pair of glasses and put them on before continuing, "I'm Kazuma Yamato but please, since you're all adults and are about to graduate, call me Kazuma. I hope to make you last few weeks of school as bearable and carefree as possible." He then chuckled.

Yukina enter the school grounds and changed her shoes quickly. She really hoped her wouldn't pull anything here at the school. It was bad enough that most people didn't like her here. If they knew about him or he got her in trouble some how, things would be ten times worst. A few more students started filing in. There were a few groups here or there chatting, asking how the weekend was or exchanging answers for the homework due today. No one greeted her or asked her how her day was. She just simply put her shoes away and went about her business. It was a bit of a lonely existence, but Yukina didn't really mind at all. She entered her classroom, catching notice of the principle and the new man writing on the chalkboard. She didn't really consider who it was at first. She honestly did not care if there was a new teacher or not. She just needed to pass her exams and get out of here. Yukina sat in the back by the windows. She always loved the view it got and being as far from being surrounded by people the better. Getting settled, she sat down and took out her things, placing them in their proper places. She had pulled out her note book and was doodling when the principle made his announcement. Not bothering to look up right away, she just ignored him and continued to doodle. It was when the other man spoke, that she dropped her pencil.

'It's a pleasure to meet all of you' His voice rang through her. Oh no he didn't....She looked up and lo and behold there he was. Kazuma in the flesh, pretending to be her teacher. Many emotions ran through her head. First, confusion, then fear, then......excitement?......then anger. What the hell did he think he was doing? Many of the student started to chat to each other. Many of the girls thought he was cute, another boy commented about how he looked too young to be a teacher. There was so many things wrong with this. These poor kids. Was Kazuma even qualified to even teach them? How was this going to effect them? She knew he needed to stay near to protect her, but this was a little far. That wasn't her only problem. Yukina covered her face and quickly looked down. Kazuma looked......really attractive in a suit...She has always seen him as the little kid she had always hung out with when she was little. And now, he looked like a full grown adult. And the glass, ugh don't even get her started on the glasses....She could feel her hand warm up as the blood rushed to her face.

"Son of a bitch..." she muttered to herself, shifting her gaze out toward the windows. This was not going to be good......

"Well, Mr Yamato, I will leave you to your new class. Just come see me if you have any questions or any problems with the students." The school's principal would state, though the wolf could already tell the old man really didn't care and was just saying it to seem responsible in front of the students. Kazuma smiled, "Of course, good day." bowing his head softly and the elder man would do the same before leaving. Hearing some of the female students call him cute, had him chuckle softly though he mentally rolled his eyes at the one boy's comment about him being young. I'm older than your grandparents kid, if you wish to go by my kind's years. Though technically, I am a little human to be a teacher in human years. The wolf would think to himself before turning to face his new students. Glancing Yukina's way, he was actually a bit frightened and knew for a fact she was probably thinking some things about him and would doubt have something to say after school was over. If she was wondering how he'd protect her after school, it was simple, once each school day was over, the other students would completely forget about Kazuma until he showed up he next day as their teacher. It worked in his favor because they would never recognize him until he wanted them too. Plus it would let him experience something new while also allowing him to keep a better eye on Yukina and even protect her from human threats if any arose.

Then the wolf would erase him off the board before pulling out one of the drawers and saw the teacher's lesson plan, now that was going to come in handy to help him. He knew many subjects but he wasn't sure what they were on for right now. Opening the book, he flipped to the page with the appropriate date and would smile though the lesson plan would hide it. They're now moving onto the subject of myth and legends, namely, yokai. Aren't they in for a treat then. Allowing his smile to fade and once again take on his cheerful and excited look, he would close the lesson planner and place it on the desk. "From the notes your previous teacher had planned, it would seem you'll be learning about yokai. And it seems it also won by popular vote as being an interesting topic." He would state and tap the book before walking around his desk to stand in front of the slightly sit on it while clasping his hands together. "Okay, so, do any of you have any questions about yokai or have any subjects of yokai lore you would like me to delve into before we start this lesson?" He asked them with a smile before glancing out the window and turning his attention back to the class. "Or would you like to take today and ask your temporary teacher any questions and we can start the lesson tomorrow?"

Yukina's hand slipped from over her mouth to her eyes. Kazuma got lucky on this one. She had forgotten the next lesson plan was on mythology. You could say that he was quite the expert on the subject. She didn't care that much though. Not matter the subject. And where the hell did he get the suit. It took her maybe ten minutes from leaving him at the door to her entering her classroom. She knew he was powerful, but that was just ridiculous. She removed her hand and went back to watching Kazuma play teacher. When he asked if had any questions, one girl shot up her hand. Only waiting until she had his attention, the girl blurted out "Are you single?"

"Yeah, do you have a girlfriend?" shouted another. Yukina's eye narrowed at them. Really? You get decently young and attractive teacher and they all lose the ability to control themselves. High school girls were so dumb. I mean, what kind of question was that? Don't they have more important questions like 'What should we know for the exam?' or 'Will this come up some point later on?' not 'If I throw myself at you, will you take me now?' They weren't here to socialized and hook up. Learning should be their number one priority. This was another reason why she hated school. Besides, it's not like he would be interested in any of them anyways. It was against the rules to have a relationship between a student and a teacher and Kazuma wasn't exactly your 'normal teacher'. She glanced back up at Kazuma for his answer....

He still looked really good in that suit......

Kazuma noticed quite a few people talking to themselves after he asked that question, no doubt they would think of questions to ask him to delay their lesson. He honestly wasn't surprised, if he was a high school student, he would probably do the same thing to get out of learning. Plus, they won't put mythology or lore on an exam anyway, they would never have to know these type of things for a job so it would be pointless to put such a useless question on. He noticed Yukina was looking at him but for now he decided it was wise not to look at her, she probably wasn't that happy about his sudden appearance. Then he noticed how fast a girl's hand shot up and he looked in her direction, taken back by her comment.

"Do I have a girlfriend?" He repeated their question, a slight blush on his face and his tone was a little shy as he rubbed the back of his neck. The wolf never considered they would ask something like that, he was expecting stuff about his age, or what eh did for fun or something like that. Asking about his love life was something he should have also considered. Then he chuckled while shaking his head slightly and placed his hand pack onto his lap. "No, I don't have a girlfriend." He could hear some of the girl's whisper to one another. "There's this girl I like but she's already shot down my feelings and told me she can't return them. Though a guy can't help but be a hopeless romantic sometimes." The wolf would smile at them before drumming his fingers against his leg. "Maybe she'll come around and realize my witty charm." He chuckled before standing back up to his feet. "Also, what you will be learning for the next few weeks will not be on your exams. You can celebrate about that, but make sure not to slack in your studies so you can go to your dream school or achieve your dream job."

Yukina's cheeks burned a little more when he talked about the girl he liked. Maybe if he didn't mention it every ten seconds, it wouldn't bother him so much. Another girl piped up, "If she won't have you, I will!" A few girls giggled and few boys groaned. Yukina guessed that they were not all to ecstatic about their hip young teacher anymore. She rolled her eyes and went back to looking out the window. Her life was just getting weirder and weirder. First, she gets attacked by this big scary monster. Then she finds out that her first crush was a yokai all along and promised to protect her. And now, he was pretending to be a teacher at her school so he could be closer to her. What is next? Her dad turns out to be a power ranger and join forces to defeat Godzilla? She rubbed her forehead and ignored what going on. Deciding that she probably should just go back to her doodling, she picked her pencil back up and starter at it again. She did know why, but hearts were on the mind....

Many of the student were happy about the announcement the substitute made. Most had already turned to talk to their friends to discuss what to do after school. The volume had already grown pretty loud when one boy raised his hand. There was always one kid in the class that had to spoil it for everyone. When called on he asked, "Well, then what are we doing, exactly? We still have exams coming up and I'm pretty sure our teacher wanted to review something with us before we took exams..." The kids groaned, knowing that he was right, but not wanting to go through with a lesson today.......

Though he made no outward comment or expression about the girl shouting out about having him, mentally, he sighed and rolled his eyes. Sorry, you're just not my type. Too much prep, and it seems you really don't focus on school all the much either or on your future in general. He would sigh in his mind, at least since they knew he now liked someone, hopefully he wouldn't have that much trouble with the high school girls and make these weeks bearable for him. Plus frankly, the wolf really didn't want other girls vying for his attention nor did he want to worry about any of them cornering him during school hours. So he could simply focus on planning the class' lessons along with helping them with anything they needed or could simple be used as morale support or for advice. Seeing how this was about Japanese History, this would be the ideal class for him to act as a teacher for, seeing with how long most of the members of his clan were alive for and the information they passed onto him. Then he sighed as the volume in the room started to sky rocket.

About to clap his hands together to silence them, he waited a few minutes before doing so then motioning for them to be silent because there was another person with a question. Looking at the young man and nodding his head to speak, he smiled and rubbed his chin as eh heard the rest of the class groan and he picked up the lesson planner and would spin it on his index finger. "You are indeed correct, we need to review your knowledge of a few key Japanese Warlords. Which is why," He placed the lesson planner down then went behind his desk and place a large stack of papers down. "these were made. Fifty pages of multiple choice and review questions that must bee done and turned in within two weeks." The wolf stated but held up a hand before they groaned. "But, if you can name five famous warlords and tell me why they are famous, I may consider cutting the review questions down slightly."

Again, a loud groan came from the students. Many scrambled, asking each other for he answers. Some people could get about two or three, but five? That was something they had to do with their notes. The ruckus caused Yukina to look up again. Five warlords, huh? She thought about it for a moment. There was Oda Nobunaga, who started the unification of Japan at the end of the Warring States period, Uesugi Kenshin, who help develop many trade systems and markets, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who helped unify Japan with Nobunaga, Tokugawa Ieyasu who was the founder and first warlord of the Tokugawa shogunate of Japan and.........Akechi Mitsuhide who lead a rebellion against Nobunaga in 1582, which led to Nobunaga's death. It wasn't so hard. Yukina may have not liked school but she didn't purposely fail. If she did that, her mother would have her head in no time. She never made a great effort to exceed, just only did what was necessary to deal with it. Thankfully, she had a pretty decent memory. She didn't speak up though. She didn't care if she got another fifty question piece of homework. Distractions where a good thing to have right now. Plus, maybe it would be a good thing for girls in the class anyways. Instead of thinking what their hot new teacher could do to them in the back room, they could actually learn something......

Why was the girls thinking about Kazuma that way bother her? It wasn't like he was hers or anything, and she didn't expect less from any of the hormone-crazed girls in her class. Still, just thinking about a girl flirting with Kazuma and them sneaking away together burned her stomach.......What was wrong with her?.....Was it.......jealousy? No, no of course it wasn't. There was no way....Right? She shook her head, trying the escape the thought and returned to doodling, adding arrows to the hearts that she had already drawn.......

Kazuma would rub the back of his head and sigh while shaking his head. "Really, you groan because you have to name five warlords and state why they're famous? This is your heritage and I know for a fact, some of these people may very well be on your exam. Instead of going out on dates or to mess around after school, maybe it would be wise to refresh your brain by looking at your notes." He told them with a slight frown and it was easy to tell he was not impressed with his attitude. So this was the class and extent of human teaching, he was definitely not impressed or awed, back when his tutors and elders taught him, he had to do much harder questions then this and would have to learn human subjects on top of his yokai ones. He figured Yukina knew the answers though, she had always been well at retaining any information she read or heard, but eh wouldn't call on her because he could tell none of the students were really a Yukina fan. Expected of the 'ice queen' she had described herself as, hopefully he could break through the demeanor and if she couldn't open herself up to others, maybe she could at least open herself up to him once again and allow him to get close. Even if she couldn't return his feelings, he would still hurt but he would still like to be in her life as a friend if nothing else could work, he could at least live with that for a while.

Seeing how they probably weren't going to have all five anytime soon, he taped the stacks with an arched brow while watching his students. This subject was going to be worth a lot of points and if they could know more than three or four, they could possibly get bonus points to impress other schools. Pulling away from the stack of paper, he turned towards the board, grabbed a marker then started to write, once he was finished, he grabbed a yardstick and lightly tapped the board before going down the list. "Oda Nobunaga, Uesugi Kenshin, Takeda Shingen, Hojo Soun, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Date Masamune, Tokugawa leyasu, Akechi Mitsuhide, Sanada Yukimura, Asakura Yoshikage, Shibata Katsuie, Azai Nagamasa, and Mori Motonari." He stated while placing the yardstick down. "I can remember thirteen and I'm only a few years older then the rest of you. You may not due six questions of your choice but in return, a want a three paragraph essay, each, about six of these warlords due the same time as your review sheet." The wolf would add with a frown as he picked up the packets and distributed them between the rows. "If you can't handle this amount of work believe me, you will not survive in college."

This caused a ruckus with the class but it was shortly followed by the groan of acceptance. Seriously, only six questions would be taken off if they did a total of eighteen paragraphs of the work? They might as well just sue the entire packet. Yukina raised an eyebrow at Kazuma. Does he even know how teaching works? Just because a kid doesn't know about the subject, you don't just throw more homework at them. That's stupid. It was whatever though. She wasn't going to do the extra set with the essays, just the questions. No need to over work herself. She watched the students past back the sheets, taking hers when the time came. She looked over it. It didn't seem that bad. With her notes, she probably could clear this in no time. Then she would have all that time to herself. Several of the students were talking, forming up groups to work on the packet together after school. Some had started already and somewhere confused.

"So this is all we are doing today?" said one student, slightly raising his hand....

Hearing the ruckus and the groan that followed after, caused Kazuma to grin and start chuckling as he raised up a hand and waved it. Dismissing something as he finally stopped, "Sorry, I just couldn't help it; teacher humor. Doing the paragraphs was just a joke though you may take off six questions. All I ask is that you at least try and take the effort to review about five of these warlords to refresh your memory." He stated, his grin fading into a smile as he glanced over at Yukina for a moment. Then moved his gaze away like he was looking at the entire class, what would be the point of having them do all that work, it would just burn out their brains. But, he was one for being mischievous so he had to make that joke. "As a bit of an apology and maybe an incentive, if you all at least get a low A on your review sheet, we can take one day to do whatever you want. Whether it's chilling in the classroom or myself taking all of you out to eat on my treat, how does that sound?" The wolf questioned them with a smile, it would probably be good for them to get a bit of a break and be shown that at least one teacher ,even if he was new, cared for them and wanted to show that their hard word would pay off.

"Well, it's good that you would ask that. There was a small assessment planned for today, ten multiple choice questions, I had made to see what you know about Japanese mythology. So I know what you guys don't and it also has a box on the bottom where you can add if there's any subjects you'd like to visit while we're talking about yokai or anything else."
He said, pulling out said papers and passing them throughout the rows. Then he sat back on his desk and clasped his hands together. "This is the last thing you need and it's due before the end of class, it's just to see what you know so if there's a question you don't know, just skip it."

Yukina rolled her eyes. Seriously? This guy.....Whatever, just get this day over with....she thought to herself. Lunch was soon anyways. Her stomach growled a little. She could use the food right about now. Also the break would be nice. The combination of him and the other students were draining her battery like no other. People were never her thing. They always seem to want something. Kids, on the other hand, were the best thing in her life. They were always honest and never afraid to speak their mind. She wish people were like that.....like Kazuma....no no wait, she didn't mean that. She shook her head and looked up to listen to him.

A few kids muttered about the paper but they took it anyways. Yukina perked up a little. She knew quite a bit when it came to Japanese mythology. She worked at a temple. Her favorite thing to do was telling the children stories of demons and spirits of the old days. Little did she know that it was all real at time. She took the paper from person in front of her and set it down in front of her. It didn't look too bad, it was only ten multiple choice questions after all. She clicked her pencil a few times and started in on the paper....

"Is it really that hard to just do ten multiple choice questions, and while it may not be on your exam, it will be counted as part of your grade. So wouldn't it be good to find out what you do and do not know then in return, I can fill in the gaps of your knowledge?" Kazuma asked, majority of the class nodded their heads but a few also groaned while the rest just stayed silent. So this why some people didn't like high school students, some tried to slack off and not do that much work while others didn't do theirs one bit. He was impressed by those who seemed to agree, at least he knew they would likely take their studies seriously and would achieve their dreams, which made him wonder...what was Yukina's dream? Maybe if he knew, the wolf could help her achieve it and show that he was useful to her after all.

Seeing the reaction she had to the assignment caused him to grin happily, she seemed to have liked the paper he printed out. Next time they were alone, he could ask her if there were any certain stories or subjects she'd like to learn about while discussing mythology, or for him, his entire existence. While she would probably yell at him for being her teacher, it was the best solution rather than having the wind conceal him and use up a lot of his power. Then he wouldn't be able to fight at full strength in case something happened during school hours.
