More: As the number one most powerful wizard in the world, Jack's amount of available mana is stupidly gargantuan; even by the standard of powerful wizards. However, outside of very basic spells (such as telekinesis, flight, etc.) and anything regarding standard illusions or his sensory magic is pathetically weak (e.g. the most powerful fireball he can form is about the size of a small candle flame). However, Jack's is a master of his mana, and, as such, has developed combat techniques to breach wards that would normally be impossible for him to take down otherwise.
More: Jack's ultimate technique is one of his own creation: Perception Magic. This is the most powerful form of illusion magic in existence. It was developed by Jack using his very specific mana type and by having the massive reserves to cast it. With it, Jack can reshape the way you perceive the world around you, resulting in completely realistic, false realities. What makes this magic so powerful, however, is if Jack wishes it, it can shatter the barrier between illusion and reality of the mind in which it is used on. In short, anything that happens to you in the illusion happens to you for real. If an imaginary sword slices you into pieces, your body will suddenly find itself cut into chunks. The only escape from this magic once cast upon you is unconsciousness or death, if the caster doesn't relinquish his hold on you. His sensory mana nature also grants him complete immunity to other forms of magical and physical sensory, as well as grant his the ultimate magical radar and perception.

Current Goal/Purpose: To be left well alone by the government, while doing some good for the world.
Non-magical Talents: Wallball and the ability to drink a seemingly endless amount of orange juice.

General Personality: Quirky, whimsical, and incredibly impulsive, Jack is the trickster teacher of Red Star Academy. He is generally laid back and tends to give off a 'screw it' attitude towards most things. However, this only applies to any time he is not teaching. In class, he is strictly professional even if he has a bit of love for being dramatic. However, Jack is never boastful about his abilities simply for the sake of gloating or the feeling of being superior. That being said, it is not wise to challenge him.
Inner Personality: Extreme anger and utter, remorseless cruelty. This is a side of Jack that has not been seen in decades; kept under such tight control, not even Jack himself remembers the general feeling. He does remember the effects. They haunt him to this day.
Secret: His loneliness. Jack has virtually no true friends — something tht has resulted in him to practice summoning magic in in secret.
HISTORIC BACKGROUND
General History: Not much is known about Jack's past, even to his fellow teachers. The headmaster knows a bit more, but not by much. Jack prefers it this way, because he finds such things woefully irrelevant. Whenever he is asked such things, like how he got his immense amount of power, his usual answer is to play lots of wall-ball and eat crap loads of meat.
Jack was the illusion teacher at the fortress of Sanctuary. Jack's name was a legend throughout the school. Not a good legend, sadly. Jack was known as the school prankster and general annoyance. This is because the subject he teaches is generally disliked and hated by all, and, as such, his subject has so few practitioners that he only had to teach two classes a week. Because of this, he had a lot of free time. He used said time either hanging about the rooms of other teachers as they go about their job and occasionally heckling or helping them, depending on his mood and the situation at hand, or enjoying a game of wall-ball on the school grounds. When not doing either, he could usually be found in his office. No one knows exactly what he did in there, as whenever they entered the place, it looked completely empty. It was unsure by all if this is because he cast a spell around the place, or it is truly empty.
As for Jack's actual teaching, he was exceptionally good at his job. This is one of the reasons why he rarely ever got thrown out of the classrooms in which he frequented. Jack has a knack for helping people understand any subjects they are having trouble with. This is partly because he seems to have knowledge of virtually every subject of magic, and partly because of the way he teaches lessons and gives examples. Jack was also highly regarded as the best sparing partner in the school.
Present Life: Currently, given the lack of non-criminal practitioners of illusion magic, Jack was quickly found a new job to teach the subject at Red Star Academy. Much to his surprise, a familiar face greeted him upon his settling in: Sky, a graduated student of Sanctuary. Jack got to know the young woman quite well from the large amount of extra-curricular excursions she took on during her training in which he accompanied her for protection.

We here at Red Star Academy gladly extend to you an invitation to enroll at our school regardless of race, gender, or heritage. Here you can learn all kinds of magic, ranging from the basics, to the most advanced applications of magic, alongside the magical scenery surrounding the school. We have a large staff of very capable teachers sharing the dream of a world where anyone can use magic.
Should you enroll, you will first need to come to our gates, and follow our helpful staff to the auditorium. There we will assign all the students to their homeroom teachers, who will also serve as your fundamentals of magic instructor. In this class you will learn to increase control of your own mana, as well as receive various need to know information for all wizards such as: forbidden magics, great wizards of the past, laws concerning magic use, and much more.
After a week of basic studies, you will be allowed to take elective studies, to further extend your focus into the many fields of study. Our curriculum is quite vast, so we trust that you will be able to find a class for just about anything that you could need. All of the teachers are able to help you for an hour before class starts, regardless of if you have them as a teacher.
Lunch is provided on campus in the cafeteria located right in the middle of the school. Lunch begins at noon, and lasts an hour and a half. During this time students may roam about the campus, but are not permitted to leave except by obtaining special permission. Also the training fields located at the west side of the school are allowed for use during lunch, provided that you have an instructor's supervision.
The main office is located just a bit north of the lunch area, and contains the headmaster's office. The main office has a wealth of information about the school, and deals with all discipline problems as well as legal concerns. You should come here if you have trouble locating things within the school, or if sent here from another source. All permission forms to leave the campus should be taken up here.
All students will be roomed in dorms with a roommate. Students caught outside of dorms between 11 and 4 without permission or a teacher will have disciplinary action taken upon them. Student dorms will be provided with different amenities depending on the classes each student is taking, and may be moved to other rooms should there be insufficient funds to provide students with their own equipment. All rooms however, will contain two beds, a small fridge, two desks, and a closet.

This will discuss important general knowledge facts about the setting of TAoM.
TAoM is a world that modernized early by relying on magic. Most devices, jobs, and modes of transportation all use magic. The reliance on magic is so heavy that the population is limited based on the number of people that can be educated. As such, magic schools are at the center of all growth, usually with large stretches of wilderness in between.
Another symptom of this rapid modernization is the lingering stigma. The first magic users, the Magi (pronounced Ma-ji), were highly regarded and started the process to the progress of developing magic and schooling a new generation of magic users. As such, some of the 3/4ths of the population now distantly descended from the Magi believe themselves to be superior to the remaining 1/4th, despite having no evidence to suggest such. Several schools even segregate, or decline to teach mages with no connection to the Magi.
The world of TAoM has only one country, but two independent governments. The magic counsel is in charge of bringing order to magic, holding forbidden tombs, financially supporting the arts, and many hidden agendas. The governing body is in charge of prosecuting criminals, writing law, and many of the functions we associate with our governments. These two branches are notorious for batting heads and maneuvering to circumvent the other's powers. Though it often seems a losing battle for the government due to many of the strongest mages holding power in the magic counsel.

Mana is the energy generated from all things which can be used to cast spells. Using mana consumes a mage's durability, and drains their mana pool. Spellcasters must be wary of how much mana they have left, for if they ever completely run out, they will perish.
Each mage is born with the affinity for a specific kind of magic. This determines which spells a mage can cast without using extra energy to convert their mana to a different type. A mage's mana nature does not change, and will remain constant throughout their life. In addition, mana natures are restricted to non-abstract nouns.
The ward is a magical barrier that prevents you from being the target of spells. Any magic that hits the ward is dispersed, and causes the ward to lose durability. If a ward breaks, mages have no other means of protecting themselves from magic, and their bodies are subject to being targeted by magic spells. It takes an uninterrupted hour to generate a ward.
Without a ward, a mage can be targeted directly. That means that spells can afflict the mage directly. For example, an unwarded mage could immediately be set on fire without a fire projectile being flung at them. A warded mage, however, can only be physically harmed after their ward is destroyed. Wards are destroyed by being overpowered or rammed repeatedly with magic until they break.
