Erika nodded along and they were finally able to walk home for the day, and at least for then but what had just happened with Victoria behind them.

The next day Erika stayed glued to Freyja as much as she possibly could, not that she wouldn't hang out with her best friend on a normal day, but it truly was a comfort to have someone around just in case she would have to face Victoria again.

Erika really hated to admit that she was afraid of what the consequences of her standing up to Victoria could be, but she was. She tried not to show it though, and she hoped Victoria really would just ignore it had happened completely.

The last class before lunch, history, which was a subject Erika usually quite enjoyed, she didn't share with her friend however, instead fate had decided to be cruel and put her with Victoria and a couple of the girls from the cheer squad. Thus Erika had chosen a seat as far away from the other girl as possible and figured nothing would happen in class as long as she wouldn't have to be close to her and as long as the teacher was present. Maybe, Victoria wouldn't even notice her at all.

She was trying very hard to look like she wasn't nervous about being in the same room as the girl, but if one actually knew Erika they would know the frequent pushing up of her too-large-for-her-face wireframe glasses and the twisting of a messy curl from one of her pigtails really were nervous habits.

The next day, Freyja would give Erika comforting pats on the arm and a reassuring smile, letting her know that things would, hopefully, be okay. She always sought to bring peace to her friend's mind in times of trouble, and with being the oldest child in her family she had some experience with comforting others in different ways depending on the situation.

Sadly, she couldn't be there for Erika in her time of need. Instead of a friendly face she had to deal with Victoria's brief glance full of irritation.

Victoria had been thinking of ways to humilate Erika during the past night. So far she had a few possibilities during lunch. Though watching the girl squirm beforehand would of been just as nice too.

Turning to look at Erika she made a slicing motion with her hand in front of her neck, before turning to face the front of the classroom with a light scoff.

Class would have probably been okay if it hadn't been for the gesture Victoria had decided give Erika right before it started. The slicing motion and glare sent chills down Erika's spine.

This meant Victoria wasn't planning on forgetting or ignoring what she had done, she wasn't just giving Erika a glare to show her dislike for her, she was basically threatening her. Erika did not like how nervous it made her. Not at all. But she had no idea what she was planning on doing to her and the uncertainty was what really messed her up.

The rest of class went by without anything really happening, Erika could not focus on her work no matter how hard she tried, but she kept her eyes glued to the book in front of her to avoid any more possible glares from Victoria.

When class was over Erika was first out of the classroom, having planned out how to avoid Victoria during her hour or so of not doing class work. The plan mostly just concluded hurrying out and reaching the cafeteria before the cheerleader, with hopes that she would be hidden in the amongst all the other student and that Victoria would be roped up with her friends and not have time to fulfill her threat.

Erika had to admit it wasn't a very good plan though, but the point of it was really that she wanted to put as much distance between herself and Victoria while at the same time pretending that she wasn't affected by her at all. She didn't want to give her that satisfaction.

Victoria felt triumphant in making Erika squirm. She felt that the other girl deserved at least that much.

Practically grinning at the many ways she could humiliate the other she decided to go with something simple.

What better time than lunch? Waiting while chatting with her friends she would occasionally look for Erika, and by extension, Freyja. She knew the two usually sat together so if she found one she could find the other. She was rather giddy with the thought of getting the last laugh--she always did. It may have been a bit mean of her, but she was only returning the favor....in front of others.

Her giddiness died down a bit and she scowled a bit as she grabbed a lunch tray, got her food, and a carton of milk.

Setting her tray down she shook the carton and glanced around until she found Erika. Walking over, she opened the carton and would then without much thought turn the carton upside down to dump it's contents on the girl.

"This'll teach you to mess with me." she muttered lowly.

The proof of Erika's plan being absolutely terrible came as something cold suddenly being dumped over her. It took her a moment to realize what was even happening, but hearing Victoria's cold voice made it apparent. This was her punishment for daring to talk back to her, the feeling of the liquid running down her back, soaking her hair and close, and everyone in close proximity staring at her while it happened.

With a hand shaky of what could be both the anger Erika felt towards Victoria and how upset she was people was seeing this she wiped the milk away from her eyes, her vision still obscured from the splashes that had ended up on her glasses. She still stared Victoria straight in the eye though, not wanting to go down without a fight, even if that fight would be pathetic.

"You're such a fucking coward" Erika practically had to force the words out of her own mouth and she could only muster a loud enough voice for Victoria to hear. If she had spoken another word the already evident embarrassment would show even more and she didn't want people to see that this affected her.

Hopefully, she had gotten the point across anyways. The cheerleader wasn't fighting on even grounds, she knew she would get away with something like this, she knew people found humiliating the weirdo funny.

Then Erika turned on the spot and hurried out of the cafeteria, doing her best to get out of there before the whispers and laughs got loud enough for her to hear, finding her way to the nearest bathroom not only to clean up the milk before it dried into her clothes but because she couldn't take anyone seeing her actually get upset.

As soon as she got into one of the bathrooms she sank down on the ground, not bothering to check if anyone was there but it didn't seem like it. She pulled her legs to her chest and hid her face in the arms she wrapped around her knees. Her heart was still beating fast and hard against her chest and she kept her eyes shut tight as she fought the utter embarrassment she was feeling.

If Erika thought about it, she might have had started it by taking those stupid pictures, maybe she could have prevented it by not trying to fight against the other girl but it still didn't feel like it was fair. It wasn't fair that Victoria got to humiliate her in front of the entire school.

All the triumph and accomplishment Victoria felt were shattered when Erika got the last word in again. A coward?! Brown eyes filled with rage. Freyja, who sat across from Erika watched her go, before standing herself to follow. She shot Victoria a small glare that withered upon the sight of the other woman's contained fury.

Freyja quickly exited the cafeteria to find her friend and help her clean up. Once she saw the state she was in she got a paper towel and sat in her knees in front of the other, taking off her glasses so she could attempt to clean them.

"It could be worse, but don't worry, I'm here for you my friend." she reassured softly. Erika was like her younger siblings after a bad day, in need of comfort and a shoulder to lean on.

Victoria stood there for a moment. She didn't feel much satisfaction, if any. Erika's comment or not she felt a little....bad? Well, it was at school around others, but she had it coming! Yet, she still got the last word over Victoria in the end! Well actions speaks louder than words--but she still felt bad no matter how hard she tried to justify it. Deciding to ignore the matter for now, she calmed herself and did her best to regain her composure as she left the cafeteria to, well, think some things over. Before possibly hunting Erika down for calling ger a coward.

"I'll show her tenfold." she huffed to herself under her breath.

Erika felt both better and worse when Freyja came to join her. She really didn't like anyone seeing that people could get to her, not even to her best friend. But she knew Freyja always saw through her anyways and was there to support her. She was a very good friend and Erika was lucky to have her.

"Thank you, Freyja" Erika mumbled after quite a while of silence, she would reach out her and give her a hug to show her the appreciation, and for her own comfort too, but she didn't want to get the still far from dry milk over her friend as well.

"I think I wanna go home," Erika said quietly, she didn't particularly enjoy the idea of going home to try to explain to her parents why she was all drenched in milk, but it sure beat going to class after this. And she would probably make it home before her parents anyways, it was only lunch time after all.

She stood on legs that were slightly shaky, not able to keep the confidence she usually had, because with being so embarrassed she really couldn't do her usual thing of ignoring what people thought of her. She went over to one of the mirrors momentarily to assess the damage. She looked like she had expected, wet and pathetic. Also quite blurry without her glasses, so she turned back to Freyja to gently take them back.

"You don't have to come with me though," She placed the glasses on her face and within seconds her hand was back up to readjust them. "I don't want you to miss out on class"

Freyja stood and gave Erika a smile, in hopes of trying to lighten the mood a bit.

"If I miss out on class, I'll just explain to my parents that it was to make sure you got home safely. They'd understand." she responded. When Erika was ready to leave, Freyja would stand beside her friend the whole time. Normally, she would be nervous about leaving school like this, but due to the situation ar hand she set her nerves aside and focused on trying to keep her friends spirits up somehow.

Meanwhile, Victoria was still on her quest to repair her hurt pride and ego over Erika getting the last word in. Oh yes, she'd show her!

"Thank you, Freyja" Erika returned Freyja's smile with one of her own, albeit a weak one. Freyja deserved to see that Erika appreciated her helping her, so even if she couldn't give her the most sincere smile, she tried.

She grabbed Freyja's hand as they walked out of the bathroom. Usually, she would grab Freyja's hand as a way to almost drag her along, to assure she came with her since the girl was quite shy. Today, however, it was because Erika really needed the support of her friend.

They walked through the hallways, all relatively empty as most people were in the cafeteria eating lunch, the people who were in the corridors, though, did give Erika the occasional weird look, she was walking around drenched in milk after all. Erika felt herself getting more and more embarrassed with every look and once they had stopped by both Freyja's and her locker Erika really couldn't wait to get out of there.

But just as they were making their way to the door, to exit the school building Erika noticed something further down the hall. Auburn hair and a sense of owning the entire hallway she stood there, simply by standing there. They would have to pass Victoria on their way out and Erika prayed it was just a coincident that the girl was there in that moment and that she hadn't actively looked to continue her torment.

Freyja made sure to give Erika's hand a squeeze whenever someone looked their way, as a sign that she wasn't going anywhere, and that everything would be alright.

Though, they just so happened to run into Victoria again, who glared at them the moment she spotted them.

Freyja quickly glanced to her friend, hoping they could turn around and find somewhere to hide out of sight until it was safe to leave.
