Erika nodded along and they were finally able to walk home for the day, and at least for then but what had just happened with Victoria behind them.
The next day Erika stayed glued to Freyja as much as she possibly could, not that she wouldn't hang out with her best friend on a normal day, but it truly was a comfort to have someone around just in case she would have to face Victoria again.
Erika really hated to admit that she was afraid of what the consequences of her standing up to Victoria could be, but she was. She tried not to show it though, and she hoped Victoria really would just ignore it had happened completely.
The last class before lunch, history, which was a subject Erika usually quite enjoyed, she didn't share with her friend however, instead fate had decided to be cruel and put her with Victoria and a couple of the girls from the cheer squad. Thus Erika had chosen a seat as far away from the other girl as possible and figured nothing would happen in class as long as she wouldn't have to be close to her and as long as the teacher was present. Maybe, Victoria wouldn't even notice her at all.
She was trying very hard to look like she wasn't nervous about being in the same room as the girl, but if one actually knew Erika they would know the frequent pushing up of her too-large-for-her-face wireframe glasses and the twisting of a messy curl from one of her pigtails really were nervous habits.
