centaur_design_by_faelicia-d8q1tej.jpg

Name: Kylar Valleyhoof
Nicknames: Dungclopper (by angry civilians), The Air Render.
Titles: Captain Valleyhoof
Guild: The Whiteviolet Purge: Kylar is part of an elite group of knights residing in Whiteviolet who wish to rid the world of necromancy, ritualistic praise and the undead. He is also part of the Whiteviolet City Guard
Rank: Third Purge Lord; Kylar is the third highest ranking member of the Whiteviolet Purge.
Age: 28
Birthday: March 19th
Race: Plains Centaur
Species: Centaur
Blood type: O
Gender: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual
Symbol: Has the guild symbol of the Whiteviolet Purge branded into his side, as well as his human chest in the form of a tattoo.

Personality

Personality type: The Commander
Personality description: Kylar is a natural born leader, willing to take charge of a situation if no-one else has the confidence to, even at the expense of his own lack of skills in the situation. He is ruthlessly rational, and will deal with both adults and children alike with a cold, stern mode of expression. He is a sharp, determined mind, and his drive to succeed in his goal is only matched by his confidence in his abilities to achieve his target. He is confident and extroverted, and will only become aggressive when someone refers to him as Dungclopper, with which then he has the firepower necessary to deal with them using more harsh measures.
Likes: Kylar enjoys exercise, more so galloping through the plains outside of Whiteviolet and feeling the wind rush through his hair and fur, as well as eating fruit such as apples and any vegetable.
Dislikes: Kylar despises laziness and ignorance, whether it be from villagers and/ or members of the city guard themselves.
Strengths: Kylar is a skilled spear and lance wielder, as well as having a talent for dealing with civilians.
Weaknesses: Kylar is easily aggravated by the nickname Dungclopper that some of the less respectful civilians use to describe him, leading him to do irrational things.
Morality: Kylar would described himself as a lawful, just and good person.
Etiquette: Kylar is polite to all, and stern with criminals and troublemakers who he has detained.
Philosophy: Kylar believes that a kind world is a peaceful and just world, and strives to achieve such a dream in the conflict that has arisen around the realm.
Taboos: Kylar will never kill disabled foes, as he believes being crippled is punishment enough.

Appearance

Height: 6'7 (height enhanced by horse features.)
Weight: 110kg
Scent: Kylar smells of pollen and dew.

Inventory:

Combat outfits:
Whiteviolet Guard Armour

Weapons:
Valkyrie's Tear: Kylar's spear.
Draconis: Kylar's lance.

Powers and abilities

Ability:
Wingclap: Kylar can clap his hands together, and concentrating his natural magical energies, can summon a harsh gust of wind that can unbalance a foe, as well as shred their armour on occasion.
Ferocious Wingclap: A more powerful version of Wingclap, this technique requires Kylar to access more magical energy, to create a larger and more vicious gale of air, that can shred armour, as well as topple a weak-rooted tree.
Air Wyvern's Ferocity: Kylar can create a high pressure, small in size sphere of air that when projected at high speeds at a foe, can cause the sphere to explode, knocking the enemy back and their weapon or shield from their hands.

-UNKNOWN AT START AT ROLEPLAY:-
Great Plains Devestation: Kylar can summon high pressure wind to his fingertips, or a weapon he is using, and project them at pinpointed locations on the enemy. This ability is ability to break through wood, and make a dent in metal.

Element: Wind
Restrictions: Using these techniques requires great stamina and focus, and the more they are used, the more stamina is drained, until Kylar blacks out. If used continuously as soon as the blackout has finished, the magic usage will lead to a coma, and then to death.
Origin: Born in the plains of Whiteviolet to an Aeromage mother and a centaur father,
Source: Kylar's magic can be replenished through meditating outside, during periods of wind.
Skills:
-Kylar is skilled in wielding spears.
-Kylar is skilled in wielding lances.
-Kylar is skilled in wielding shortswords.

Name: Bedwyn Hezekiah
Titles: The Apostate / The Heretic
Guild: The Followers - a small splinter sect of The Church who generally support the rebellion but have bizarre beliefs.
Rank: Wandering Hermit / Priest
Age: 42
Birthday: May 1st
Race: Caucasian
Species: Human
Blood type: A+
Gender: Male
Orientation: Heterosexual
Symbol: None

Personality

Personality type: The Mad Prophet
Personality description: There is a core of benevolence to Bedwyn that has survived his traumatic encounter with the divine; he believes his role is a teacher, a healer, a benefactor to all. He always believes what he does is for the best, even if it must be a harsh medicine. But all that is buried deep under a fragmented psyche, a burning purpose governed by the voices in his head and strange compulsions he has been infected with. He still serves the Truth, but what Truth that is has shifted and might not be one others recognize.
Likes: Bedwyn enjoys music and can play some instruments well, though recently the melodies have become strange and fragmented, alien even.
Dislikes: Gripped by a quest to serve the Truth, Bedwyn violently refuses those who suppress his Truth and profess others. He has taken to profaning holy symbols of previous churches.
Strengths: Bedwyn seems impossible to deceive or fool, nor do illusions seem to work on him. He was an educated man before his mind broke and now he makes connections others could not, making him seem to know things he couldn't. He is a charismatic preacher and a trained warrior-priest.
Weaknesses: He is a madman, a lunatic, and strongly resembles it. He lacks in social graces and esteem or position.
Morality: An illusion he has transcended.
Etiquette: Distinctly lacking; he tends to be roughly spoken, poorly washed and generally crude.
Outlook on Life: Recently shaken, Bedwyn has learned of a higher Truth and of the distraction of the Church. He believes there is a great and cosmic order and Truth to the universe, but one so grand and vast than mere mortals cannot possibly comprehend it rationally.
Standpoint: In general he is in favor to the rebellion - in large part because his public defection sparked much of the conflict - though he lacks much of the organization necessary to really count as a member of it.
Philosophy: Mortals are irrelevances, fleeting gnats in the face of greater things. But they are gnats who do know know they are gnats. This must be remedied.

Appearance
kaman_thah_by_henning_zpsbyne89ej.jpg

Height: 5" 10
Weight: 130 lbs
Body type: Skinny, borderline malnourished.
Skin: Pale, practically translucent, with many recent tattoos.
Scent: Filth, spoiled milk and a curious lingering whiff of peppermint.

Inventory

Outfits: Bedwyn primarily wears long, flowing robes of indeterminate fabric, repurposed clerics robes whose original holy symbols have been ripped off or daubed over with new, awful sigils.
Accessories: A necklace made of rat skulls, several scrolls and parchments made of dubious vellum, a sacrificial dagger made of a queer, green-ish metal.

<<Over the course of play, Bedwyn is going to be writing a magical text akin to the Necronomicon. As of now, it is roughly one chapter long and barely coherent in its writing>>

Powers and abilities

Touched By The Old Ones: Bedwyn has survived alone in the cold, the wind and the rain with barely any meat on his bones or food to eat. And yet he.. seems just fine. No disease seems to touch him, hunger seems to have left him, no blade has yet found its mark in his breast. There is.. something keeping him safe from mundane harm.

The Kin-Tongue: Touching the divine has left Bedwyn infected with a new tongue, a language he believes to be something akin to what the true gods speak. It is something not meant for mortal ears, nor for mortal mouths. When Bedwyn speaks in this language, his lips split and his throat fills with blood - but it is worse for those who hear the maddening, destructive sounds; their minds and bodies alike are ripped by the words. It is a language through which he can conduct great acts of blasphemous sorcery.

Relationships

Acquaintances: Ryuji Lichblight, High Priest of Mithas Ithril
Friends/Allies: Anselm, his one student.
Enemies: The Church
Family: Abandoned
Lovers: He is a eunuch.

History: Most faithful pray for some contact with the divine, some word of their god. Though many priests are charlatans, a great deal of those who turn to the church initially do so out of faith. Only a few preserve that faith in the politics and the intrigue of the Church, its many hypocrisies and failings. Those who do so are more often the pure monks, those who seclude themselves in the pursuit of higher knowledge and enlightenment. They turn their minds to the cosmos, in the hopes of some great epiphany that brings enlightenment.

Bedywn Hezekiah was one such monk in a monastery on the outskirts of Mithas Ithril. During a meditation session of fasting and soul-searching.. he managed it. His soul reached out into the highest reaches of the cosmos and made contact with something divine. In making contact with it, Bedwyn immediately went mad, his mortal mind unable to survive contact with something so much higher than him. Instead of the warm, loving heavens he saw something cold, immeasurably vast and totally indifferent to human effort. Something eldritch and awful. This was a true god.

From that day forth Bedwyn has wandered, preaching his new word. Having once been something of a "golden boy" of the church, his defection and spouting of heresy was a very controversial move and his ramblings only fuelled the fire of the nascent rebellion. In his blind, directionless wanderings he has managed to accrue a small cult of those who reject the lies of the church but still seek to worship something truly worth worshipping (whether or not something so vast would notice or even care about tiny humans singing its praises)

The city of Whiteviolet is surrounded by mountains and plains, the hidden gem of it's region. The centre for agriculture, Whiteviolet produces all the crop that Svanoltia could ever need. Whiteviolet is kept in check by it's city guard, and their kind ruler, Lady Luna Roseleaf, who is in charge of the major decisions of the city. Whiteviolet is temperate, with mild winds, and clean water that is a runoff from the mountains that surround it. Races that are common citizens of Whiteviolet include that of Centaurs, Humans and Forest Elves. There is one major guild present in the city, The Whiteviolet Purge, who wish to rid the world of the undead that plagues it's darkest and coldest corners.

The dominant religion in Whiteviolet is majorly worship to Athriana, Godess of the Harvest and Hunt, or to Mehriik, God Of Deception, Rituals and Death, whose church members are being slowly culled by the Whiteviolet Purge.

Notable Inhabitants:
-Kylar Valleyhoof: Captain of the Guard, Member of the Whiteviolet Purge.

[fieldbox="Nepheline: City of Magma, red, solid"]

Nepheline is not the prettiest city to look at by any means. It is a crime torn place, run by overlords who care for their own needs rather than Nepheline's dying and starving citizens. Lest not forget, in addition, the many, many female disappearances, creating a breed of abomination known as the Dracomancer for the Nephelinese to deal with, their overlord Virulos the Dragonbane, wishes to commit to a mass genocide of all dragonkin living in the city, and enhance the military power for the King by training pyromancers from a young age through abhorrent conditioning. The city itself is close to the centre of the realm, in a mountain range of extinct volcanoes. Aithne Tanith leads the Ashen Revanchist in rebellion against Virulos the Dragonbane, as her father and her father's siblings are dragons themselves, as well as fighting for the right of freedom without conscription under the Overlord's rule.

Religion:
Nepheline's religion is split in half by it's two warring factions; The Ashen Revanchist and the Overlord's forces. The Revanchist worship the god known as Valkyrion, Draconic God of Harmony, Justice and Guidance. However, those who serve the Overlord worship Vulcan, God of Righteous Slaughter.

Notable Inhabitants:
-Aithne Tanith

Accepted, Accepted, Accepted!! You guys have been busy.

lol it looks nice and all, but I can't edit things. I have no equipment and/or programs to do such awesome things. If you can find someone who can, we could definitely use it. ^_^ I'll get to adding the rest asap.

@Arcadia Lumina, would you by chance be able to post a list of potential relationships between the current factions/groups/guilds? We'll need it if we want to get this any further. I'm thinking of going ahead and starting up the roleplay soon, and just hoping that we get more players as time progresses.

Edit: All groups/assumed groups have been added to the original post.
@Arcadia Lumina, @GreatWest, @RogueState, please look over it all, and let me know if I've left and characters, groups/guilds, or your customs cities, if any.

[fieldbox=Prologue, green, solid]A loud thundering sound rang out through the air, as the northern city wall came crumbling down. Trebuchet after trebuchet rained fire and stone upon the crumbling castle city. As they did, many a knight fought on against hordes of townspeople. The revolt had begun. Hundreds of settlements across the land, ruled by two sets of kings and queens, fought against one another, and against the knights of the castles, many with different views, and some with their own personal agendas. Bloodshed, orders, clashing steel, the stench of blood, sweat, and tears, filled the air as the fighting continued across the land of Svanoltia. Many fought against the secret working of the Church of Salvation, a church of people who had cleverly made their own fake religion up, in order to take money from the blind of faith.

"Push them back!" A Knight General yelled, "Do not let them advance! crush all who dare to so much as think of opposing us!" He said these words loudly, and they rang out across the battlefield of a destroyed city. As he clashed steel upon steel, townspeople surrounded and overwhelmed him, stabbing and chopping at his armor, wearing it down, until one lucky thrust of a sword, met the tender flesh underneath the armor. Blood spewed out as the sword was released from the prison of flesh, the General falling to the ground. Screams and yells echoed out through the city, as more and more fell to the blades of the Revolt.

A young woman rushed through the crowds of fighting, causing more than a few people, knights and civilians alike, to be struck down. This woman was of no more than her early teens, and had nothing more than a tank top and pants on, and rushed through the crowds with a sword in hand. The clashing of steel stopped her in her tracks at the great castle door, as she crossed blades with the Sword Goddess, General Eiko Marubeni. "You're Yukiyo Tokaji, the leader of such a fine rebellion?" The sinister general asked. Yuki said nothing, and an evil bloodlust filled her eyes, as she struck out against her foe.

Hours and hours of fighting, and both warriors were tired and worn from battle. The Sword Goddess attacked once more, before backing off into the castle. "We'll meet again. Let's not die before then." She said, and chuckled as the thick metal wall slammed to the ground, blocking the way into the castle. Most of the knights and townspeople had exhausted their power, or were dead. Yukiyo walked lazily away, back towards the northern wall, and upon making it just outside, collapsed from exhaustion.

The fire and flames littering the countryside looked as though an apocalypse was taking place. It almost looked as if holes to the Underworld itself were opening up and steaming. Yukiyo awoke in a field tent about the size of a tennis court. Many people were treating injuries and casualties. This is where the story begins. Many of the leaders of the land, as well as the kings and queens who rule over all, are corrupt, and deceiving the public, and it is up to all of the inhabitants of Svanoltia to move history along, in their own way. It is up to these individuals to forge their own path, to make a name of themselves, and how they decide to do it, is up to them.

Many will fall, many will surpass the limits of their physicals bodies, and be broke forever by the damage caused, but for those who can pass the trials and harshness of time and and remain standing, their resolve forging their path to success through the trench of deceit, lies, and opposition that awaits them, shall have a special place in the history books of the land of Svanoltia. It is up to these skilled entities to mold the future of a land of corruption..[/fieldbox]

This is intended to be a large-scale roleplay. Multiple characters are allowed, just not too many. I will update this post with all who are accepted, along with their characters' name(s). Among other things, this is a roleplay about the rebellion against a corrupt set of kings and queens. More to the point, it is about the people forging their own destiny in a time of chaos. A handfull of self-proclaimed warriors, doing what they do to get by, and progressing their own agendas further and further.

Current sign-ups:
@Arcadia Lumina: Aithne Tanith, Inari Galadriel, Kylar Valleyhoof
@RogueState: Felix Volund, Bedwyn Hezekiah
@Kelsi the Elven Warrior: Eiko Marubeni, Yukiyo Tokaji
@GreatWest: Arabella Selwyn

Rules:
All Iwaku rules apply, though we all already know it.
My rules are as follows.
1. No Godmodding or anything of the sort, except in a very, very, basic form. An example is setting someone else's character up for an attack you intend to perform in another turn.
2 Absolutely NOOOOOO killing another persons' character(s), unless they notify me of their acceptance of death. In other words, they must be okay with it, and they must let me know which is going to die.
3. Do not hold any romances between age groups, and do not control any characters that are underage, if you intend to set them in a relationship with another of your characters who is of age. This should go without saying, but it's for the extra emphasis.
4. Please plan out ALL collaborations with other players in things like Titanpad and such.
5. No one liners!!! I'd like to see long posts filled with two, three, or even four paragraphs of at least three or more sentences each, but I know I won't be able to keep that up for every post, and we all get blocked, and our minds clog up, leaving us unable to come up with a post that we feel is good enough. Please post as much as you can, and when your inspiration halted for the time being, just settle down, and rest your mind.
6. You don't have to post all the time, but a few posts a week to a few a day or two days, is preferred.
7. No reservations! You should know whether or not you have time to commit to this, or that you don't already have too much on your plate to be included.

I have my own things I'd like to see happen, so check all the time through posts to make sure you don't miss my intervening to set up a mass happening of events between people, and message me if you are unsure you are involved or not, or wish to be added to the happenings. I'd really like this to actually get somewhere, instead of being just another post to be forgotten and unused, so pretty please sign up if you like this, and give suggestions as to what could make this better.

Use ALL THAT APPLY and nothing more! Exclude everything irrelevant within the CS from your sign up entirely. This will help me read what you did fill in, and not have to worry about spots left unfilled. Again, only use what is relevant to your character. Delete any and all things you don't intend to answer from your post!

Svanoltia is a huge continent covered in many different varieties of biomes/regions. Deserts, forests, wetlands, and the like, just to name a few. The whole of the continent is the focus, which is why I'm wanting a larger number of players, with multiple characters, if they can handle them. Have any questions? Please post them, and I'll try my best to answer them.

City/Village/Town names you could use:
Goldport: The Rebels of Soderman: A splinter rebel group that does their own thing, and whose side goal is to surpass Yukiyo, and win the fight to take the crown for themselves.
Goldcliff
Northshore: Chamons Brothers: A large group of knights whose only goal is the eradication of any and all who would oppose the kings. You'll frequently be greeted by these guys.
Erimead: Reapers Rebels: A rebellious guild of thieves and pickpockets, largely uncaring of a huge war going on around them.
Southmallow
Redkeep: The Eagles of Redkeep: A group of exceptional warriors and bowmen, who want nothing more than to watch the world burn, as they make a name for themselves, and their village.
Barrowhaven
Lorston
Whiteviolet: The Whiteviolet Purge; An elite group of knights residing in Whiteviolet who wish to rid the world of necromancy, ritualistic praise and the undead.
Lormoor
Westerden: Bandits of Westerden: Just your standard group of bandits, with the exception of a few good fighters.
Brighthurst: Savages of Brighthurst: This land is largely hostile, and the occupants are nothing more than savages, killing anyone on sight.
Corkeep
Fallcourt: Fallcourt Mercenaries: A group of mercenaries, led by Yukiyo Tokaji, whose interests are many. But among them all, there is one that stands out. Their goal above all else, is to see the current Kings and Queens killed, and replaced with more competent, honest hearts. Unlike most mercenary groups, Fallcourt Mercs do not accept contracts. Rather, their members go on missions to complete whatever assignment must be done, usually in the form of peace making between groups, or killing anyone too hostile against their cause.
Esterfort
Himmelheim: home to the Merchants Guild, and Shipwrights Guild
You can start anywhere, though I suggest coming up with a plan for your character. Come up with their reason for being. Make sure it is something, that whether that character dies or not, will forever change the land. I don't want just those few players that are just there for the sake of being there. This needs dedicated players, not afraid to get too attached to characters that may end up dying, and not afraid to get their hands dirty in a little politic business, or mess with a few caravans travelling through the land..
Relationships:
Ashen Revanchist:
Supportive of; Fallcourt Mercenaries, Whiteviolet Purge.
Unsupportive of; The Forsaken, Reaper's Rebels, Bandits of Westerden, Eagles of Redkeep.

The Forsaken:
Supportive of; Himmelheim, Fallcourt Mercenaries, Bandits of Westerden, The Rebels of Soderman.
Unsupportive of: The Whiteviolet Purge, Eagles of Redkeep, Savages of Brighthurst, Reaper's Rebels.

In the IC thread, which will be up later today, I urge you all to use the fieldbox bbcode, and please use this to notify the rest of the players as to where each character you control is:
[ fieldbox=Kelsi the Elven Warrior, purple, solid]Location: FallCourt Mercenary Guild Hall
Interactions: Yukiyo, Meki(npc)
Weather: Sunny
Collab: none[/ fieldbox]

Please make sure that you use one post for all of your characters, if the current focus of your personal goal(s) at the time of posting, is all characters you control. This way, you do not have to make multiple posts. If you want to release the happenings of the characters in parts, you may do that too, just add in 'Part # of #' above 'Interactions'.

Before I do put up an IC, I need to know who is still committed to the roleplay.

@Arcadia Lumina, It's fixed now. I had a feeling I'd missed something. Thanks for letting me know what I missed. ^_^ You get a cookie!

EDIT: @Kelsi the Elven Warrior, could there be a floating island city that either helps to train mages or warriors?

Absolutely! Additional places would be lovely! Most of the cities that have no guilds may be deleted though, so as to not have an absolute ass ton of villages, though a few of them will stay, so as to have a few neutral villages to head to.

Ætheros, The Floating City, City of Mana and Magic. The city itself has many names and many inhabitants, aspiring and master mages who wish to learn the secrets of the craft or wish to perfect their reasons or learning such a noble profession. With magic comes worship, and within the walls of the city it's inhabitants worship Xaethen, Lord of Mana, a being who was supposed to have birthed the Mana Stream, where all mages draw their magical power from.

Himmelheim, known as the City of Coin, is one of the continent's largest and more wealthy centers of commerce. More coin moves through Himmelheim in a day than most cities in a month, they say. A coastal port-town is where the wide river Darkwine, a major trade route meets the ocean. The city is home to many traders, merchants and financiers. Almost anything can be found for purchase in Himmelheim's many roofed markets, famous for their intricate and colourful mosaics. It is home to the Guild of Merchants, an alliance of wealthy traders in all fields - from spices and wines to swords and cheeses - headed by Felix Vollund. Another strong force is the Shipwrights Guild, who are responsible for the creation of the many cargo vessels and trading galleons of the region, crafted in the nearby Calmwater Bay.

Being outside in Himmelheim is often grim and depressing due to the frequently cloudy weather and many industrial presences; on the other hand, being inside is a glorious experience as even the poorest buildings are finely decorated by the city's many artists and sculptors. There are nearly as many temples in Himmelheim as there are markets and soukhs, due to its very cosmopolitan population; people come here from all over the world and bring their many, strange gods with them. The general attitude is one of quiet permissiveness of both faith and vice; it is a city where almost everything has a price...

Yep! Also, I'll be making a starting post as soon as I can, unless someone beats me to it, so there's no real rush on a starting post.
