Dawn was soon approaching in the quiet dark sky. The island was still covered in the night's shadow and the people still slept at this time. The night pokemon were to soon go into hiding and the morning pokemon would awake to perform their daily duties. It was peaceful and calming as the night went on, but soon it would be a day to be remembered. A young girl was ready to tackle her first day in school.
Lavender was sleeping on her soft, comfortable bed. She was feeling relaxed there as she dreamed of the many pokemon she was interacting in her dreams. As her dreams continued, she was awoken to a large cry.
BWA DO WA DO WA!
A small, red berry looking pokemon cried as it jumps on Lavender repeatedly, trying to wake her up. Lavender shrugged a little bit, trying to wake up.
"I'm up i'm up!" She joyfully said with a tired voice. The pokemon jumped off of Lavender and ran towards the open door, where her mother was watching.
"You're going to be late to your first day of school honey." Lavender's mother smiled. "I'll have your breakfast ready when you get out of the shower."
"Alright. Thanks mom." Lavender looked to her and gave her a thumbs up. Lavender's mother left to go to the kitchen while Lavender jumped into the shower and cleaned up for her first day at the academy. She put on her swimsuit and then her favorite black dress that goes up to just above her knees. After brushing her teeth and applying her makeup, she skipped down to the kitchen, where her mother finished her breakfast meal, scrambled eggs, orange juice, and pancakes in the shape of a pidgey.
"You eat up now dear, i've got some work to do around the house before I head off to my job. Have a wonderful first day at the academy." She gave Lavender a hug before heading off to her room to get ready.
"Thanks mom!" Lavender gave a wide smile to her as she walked over to the table, where her food was. She finished her meal quickly and headed out to the academy with her backpack and Bounsweet in her hands.
Several minutes of walking through the darkened landscape has made Lavender a bit more calm and relaxed. Bonbon seemed to be resting on Lavender's arms while snoring loudly. Guess she didn't get much sleep either. As she continued to walk, she heard a faint cry a bit close to her.
Lavender looks around for the location of the cry and walked towards it. A injured Zigzagoon laid there hidden under the bush as it was laying down on its side. Lavender checked the pokemon for any wounds, it seems one of its legs got twisted and couldn't move. "Hold on, i'll help you." She smiled as she pulled out a potion from her backpack and sprayed the tiny raccoon pokemon's legs. After a minute of spraying its legs, the wound disappeared and the pokemon got on its feet, with a joyful cry.
"I'm glad to see you alright." Lavender petted the Zigzagoon with a soft and gentle brush. The pokemon ran off into the bushes and out of Lavender's sight. Lavender looked around the area and daydreamed for a bit...Before realizing she wasted alot of time standing there. "Oh shoot! The academy!" Lavender realized what she was originally doing and quickly ran to the academy, interrupting Bounsweet's nap. The little berry pokemon gave out a yawn before
Lavender made it to the academy as it was starting, but she was quite a distance from it. Lavender, who was out of breathe, decided not to interrupt them and stood far behind them to catch her breathe. The professor came up to the stand as he gave a small speech.
Right after the speech, another person came up to the podium after the professor finished. Lavender did know who she was due to the fact she has seen her in person many times. The Kahuna of this island, Mialee. She gave a short speech about the stuff in the academy before giving the students their first assignment. Not surprising there. The first one was at the cove nearby, where an infestation of Pyukumuku has attacked the nearby cove and possibly the town if not dealt with.
The other assignment however, hit Lavender quite closer to her. It was a infestation of Charjabugs located near the Merry Bloom, the flower shop that her boss owns. To think that a bunch of bugs would be that close to the shop, it could mean bad business if these bugs got in the shop and ate the flowers. She felt a bit of despair in her heart and worried for both Edd and her shop.
Just then, a girl jumped up as she introduced herself. Quite the young chipper girl. The young girl, Nova, spoke out to all the other students around the area too. A few others approached her to try to talk to her. Lavender did seem a bit happy, seeing the other students making friends and perhaps finding a partner for this school life. But right now, what matters was her favorite place was in danger from these bug pokemon.
Shortly after, Miralee listed who was going with.
"The final six will be Team Flower: Kai, Nova, Beerus, Lani, Quinn, and Lavender. "Now go claim your Pokemon and report to your mission's destination."
Team Flower? Perfect! She gleamed with happiness as she would be able to help out Edd and his flower shop from being destroyed. She rushed towards the lab as fast as she can, with Bounsweet following behind her.
At the lab, Lavender looked around the room as she admired the well designed room with the pokeball set there for the student's viewing.
Alright, just need to find a suitable pokemon that I can use to help out Edd. Lavender scouted out each and every pokemon around the various tables, looking to find a wonderful companion to be best buds forever and ever. After a bit of searching, she found one. Chikorita, a small green like plant animal. Lavender gasped and took the pokeball. "It's so cute!" She fangirled a bit harder than usual. She showed the professor the pokemon she wanted and asked if she could take a look at the pokemon. The professor gave a quick nod before handing her Chikorita's pokeball.
Lavender took out Chikorita's pokeball from the professor's hand held it in her hand. She opened the pokeball as Chikorita emerged from the pokeball. The pokemon seemed a bit shy, if not, frightened. Lavender bent down to get close to Chikorita's level. "Hey there. We're going to be best buds." She smiled. The Leaf Pokemon seemed to be scared of her for some reason. After a while of looking at her, the pokemon cried out for its life and ran away. "Hey wait, come back!" Lavender yelled for it, but it didn't show any signs of stopping. The professor wasn't even a bit shocked that it happened. He figured something like this would happen due to the fact Chikorita was very scared of other people.
"Oh well. Maybe something spooked the poor pokemon." She said, with a tone of disappointment in her voice. She looked around the area more for a second pokemon to try out. One pokemon seemed to have caught her eyes and she seemed a bit excited for this one.
A small owl looking pokemon named Rowlet.
"Oh! This one will do." She smiled, the professor smiled and handed her Rowlet's pokeball. Lavender stayed calm, hoping not to scare any more pokemon and released it from its home. The young beige looking owl with a leaflike bowtie appeared and licked its wings. Lavender looked down on the Rowlet near her feet and waved. "Hiya! My name is Lavender. Pleased to meet you." She joyfully said with a heartfelt smile. The Rowlet looked at her and stared. "Will you be one of my best friends!" She held her arms out as if she waited for the owl to jump up to her arms and accept her as his trainer. The owl stared for a little bit, not sure about this person.
Then the pokemon jumped up and down, excited about meeting its new trainer. Lavender returned his excitement with a joyful smile. The professor seemed to be happy that Lavender found her second partner and gave her the necessary tools for her journey. With that, Lavender quickly rushed out of the lab with Bounsweet and Rowlet happily following behind her.
Rushing to the Merry Bloom, she looked to the back to get a glimpse of the situation at hand. Yeah, there was like a swarm of them right behind it too, and they are awfully close to the building too. She needed to get rid of them as soon as possible, but she did think it was the right call to wait for the others to come so that the problem can be finished easily and with no problems. But since she was early, she decided to check the building for her boss. Finding him just inside of the building, tending to his plants. While Lavender ran to Edd, Bounsweet started to fall in love with the scent of the flowers around the building. Lavender never brings her to work because she might do something to them, but the various scents has have her moving around the building, smelling each and every one of them.
"Edd! Are you alright?" Lavender asked as he sees Edd there looking after the plants with his pokemon by his side. He seemed a bit nervous, considering that the bugs were very close to the Merry Bloom.
"I'm ok Lav, thanks. Why y'here? Your shift ain today." He responded back with another question. Edd knows Lavender as one of her employees of the Merry Bloom. And even though they talk about a lot of things, Edd may have forgotten the part where Lavender was going to enlist in the academy. Lavender pulled out a pokeball from her belt and showed it to him.
"I'm a student at the Pokemon Academy now and one of our assignment was to help clear out the infestation of Grubbins and Charjabugs near your business." She explained the situation to him. Just then, a Grubbin sneaked in through the window of the Merry Bloom. Edd noticed it crawling through an issued a command to the Vivillon.
"Fantastic, we could use plenty uh' help" Edd said hesitantly. He grabbed a broom nearby and sweeped the Grubbin back outside of the building. Edd looked back at Lavender. "The other students with'yuh right? Help em clear out the bugs, wouldyuh? We're needin plenty of help here." Edd gave her a smile and continued to defend the place with his Vivillion and Whimsicott by his side.
"Oh yes! That was the plan, you just defend the flowers at all cost." Lavender nodded back and left the Merry Bloom in a hurry. Bounsweet, who was still enamoured by the smell of the flowers, was quickly snapped back into the world when Rowlet slapped it with its wings. It yelled at her to hurry up before Lavender was gone, with a shocked expression, Bounsweet rushed out of the Merry Bloom in search of Lavender.
Outside of the Merry Bloom, Lavender looked around the area for any students that were in her team. She didn't see anyone at first, walking around the field a bit, just then, she heard someone yelling a command, followed by the attack of a pokemon. It seems they were already there She pulled out Bounsweet's pokeball and pointed it to her. "It's gonna get messy Bounsweet, and since you haven't learned any fighting moves, I would rather you stay safe in this pokeball." Lavender said in a worried tone of voice. The berry pokemon sadly cried, wanted to be with Lavender and protect her in case something where to happen to her if the bug pokemon attacked her, but Lavender gave her a reassurance she'll be alright and the pokemon went inside her pokeball. With Rowlet by her side, they walked towards the sound of the attack.
After a bit of running, she reached the area where the fighting was happening. It seems Edd was there with his pokemon, alongside another girl who's fending off the bugs by herself. Lavender seemed a bit confused. She doesn't look like a civilian who lives here, nor did she seemed to be part of the academy. Lavender looked around, but didn't see anyone else? "Wait, where is everyone else?" She asked Edd. She turned around to the other person. "And are you part of Team Flower?" She asked. Waiting for an answer from either. Meanwhile, Rowlet jumped in front of Lavender, ready to protect Lavender at any cost.
