I'M PLAYING.

((Reserved for Centaur Warrior/Ranger multi-class))

Everyone... Don't multiclass that much. Just go pure one thing... Please.

Name: Jacob Turrent.
Age: 22
Sex: Male
Personality: Reserved, private, stoic, dependable, stubborn, rocky
How long have you been playing the game?: Six years
Relationships: Friendly and protective towards his guild
Life: Jacob is close to his family, in fact began playing to play with his cousin, although they're now in separate guilds. He works at an electronics chain for most of the day, usually working the bulk of his hours clumped together in one half of the week and relaxing the other half.

Name: Equintus
Sex: Male
Class: Warrior/Sorcerer
Race: Centaur
Appearance:
lwworieus01lrg2.jpg

Markings:
He's missing the tip of his left ear and across his chest there is a black tattoo that is a stylized depiction of a horse rearing back, forelegs kicking the air.
Weapon: A strong lance with a long blade and a heavy longsword that he carries on his left side. The decorations of each match, the same red as his leather shirt.
Armour: The armor is comparatively light, a penalty of his Sorcerer dual-classing, and is valued more for its balance of flexibility and protection, although it is strong enough to let him front-line. The gauntlets he wears give him a bonus to the success of his touch attacks, but the rest of his armor isn't magical, just of high quality make.
Magic: All of the spells Equintus knows are touch attacks, requiring him to make a successful unarmed melee attack to touch an enemy. He can't use them while wielding his lance, only his sword.
  • Fingers of Flame: Fire-aligned, deals one large burst of damage with a chance to burn the affected enemy and cause damage for a few seconds.
  • Freezing Palm: Deals no damage to an enemy, but freezes them for several seconds.
  • Geyser Blow: Shoots out a high-pressure water attack from the palm towards the target, dealing damage and knocking them back.
  • Touch of Darkness: Deals Dark-aligned damage to the target, blinds them for several seconds, and makes them unable to cast spells or use spell-like abilities.
  • Briarhand: Vines spring up around the target and entangle their legs, preventing them from moving but not attacking and increasing the damage they base from fire-aligned attacks. Melee blows from slashing weapons have a chance to free the trapped enemy.
  • Touch of Light: Provides a moderate healing, can be used on himself and friendly characters.
Benefits: His race and class combination make him a highly damaging front-line fighter, able to use the Centaur Charge race ability to plow into clusters of enemies, taking some damage himself but heavily damaging and knocking down those he charges in to. His race and primary class give him high strength, endurance, and agility, but don't add to his intelligence. He has a high speed, high carrying capacity, and a lot of health. As a centaur, he can make kick attacks with his hooves to targets behind or in front of him.
Inconveniences: Large size reduce his ability to fight in close quarters or fit into certain areas. He uses his spells to good effect, but not close to what a monoclass Sorcerer can do. He has fairly low MP and thus cannot cast them frequently.
Inventory: Whatever weapon he does not have in his hands, five potions of healing, five mana potions, one intelligence-boosting potion.
History: Equintus was born into a semi-migratory herd of centaurs, having to buy and craft his own armor. His weapons are original, made to his own specifications. He drifted from guild to guild, almost as a sort of mercenary, staying on for a few important tasks before leaving again. He does leave an impact, at least in memory, as his style leads to him tackling into a large group of enemies and whirling around, slashing, kicking, and making touch attack spells, leaving enemies fallen in a circle around him about as long as his lower half is. He's stayed with Spyte for the longest of any of them, finally seeming to settle down with a guild taking as unconventional an approach as he does.

I see nothing wrong with Spammy's character. Very nicely done.

Laharl though...

I'd rather not mix Bard with Ranger but that is just me. The history means the history of your character. The made up stuff. Not what you have right now. Like his origen, life up to that point, ect.

Looking good, all. Got me a glass cannon, a half-cat sniper, a musical ranger kitty aaand an awesome centaur with touch attacks. I'm so excited. >:3

Your history could use a little more beef, Laharl. Would like to at least know how he got into my guild. Otherwise, I love him!

EDIT: Settle down, Raiu. I can see how multi-class can be more fun and creative for a person. There's nothing too over the top quite yet from anyone, so I'm alright with it.

I am certainly out of touch with MMO terminology, but I feel glass-cannons are more suited to describing spell casters .. I would say I've speced Lars to just be some sort of 'paper DPS'?

Guys, this is not a HARD DnD or MMO game. We're not going by stats, numbers; we're not min/maxing. We're just using this whole thing as a framework for the RP. Please don't get carried away with trying to min/max or anything.

That said, please, play what you like! Keep things within the realm of reason and possibility. Don't start throwing things at Fluffy that doesn't make sense, have no bearing, or is not included in her original information. Your race not there? Tough luck. Your class not there? Try fitting something into the realm of plausibility.

For me? I want a spear thrower-type Ranger. How did I solve that?

My Ranger re-spec'd at a later level and bought a "spear" package Feat of some kind that gives him greater ranged damage (spears) and proficiency at using them in melee with skill at the cost of range and a pet.

And don't tell me that's not in the realm of plausibility. ;P

Glass canon can refer to any character that has high attack, but poor defense. Works for any video game, really. :]

*watches for more characters whilst sipping a juice box*

EDIT: Thanks you for helping, Seiji.
<3

I was just engaging in idle philosophical debate, and am just as afraid of stats as you are.

Fluffy! I was curious but do Cleric require a staff? Also, I know a staff can work as a weapon as well but would it do anything for her spells if she had one?

Not to be a dick or anything but why are you trying to be so GMy raiu?

Well, you don't HAVE to use a staff, Harpy. It's more a suggestion than anything. You could use cestus, or you could get creative. I once made a Cleric that fought with a shield by throwing it to get some ranged attack. They are holy defenders, so it seemed fitting! *hides Captain America comics* >>;

You can also build on the idea of a staff if you wanted. Make it a more unique weapon, like a bladed staff. And, yes, it could do something for her spells. In your case, being Cleric, your staff could be bless with the ability to do extra damage to undead. For example. :] Or increase the regeneration of your mana. Anything you can think of, really. Those passive abilities are lovely things to rely on.

Alright~ thanks Fluffers~ 8D I'll have my character up soon!

Eh, just tired today.

And Laharl is a dick LaharlSama. Hehe.

Name: Patten McCleiry

Age:
18

Sex:
Female

Personality:
Bubbly, Girly, Optimistic, Kind, Loud, Sarcastic

How long have you been playing the game?:
1 year

Relationships:

Vicky/Spyte: A great source of knowledge and wonderful friend she knows through the game. Holds the highest respect for her since she'd be lost otherwise.

William/Extilan: A good friend, though his comments have made her uncomfortable more than once. She looks to him for backup most of the time.

Life:
Patten lives with her parents in a small home in the suburbs. When she isn't cruising through her senior year of high school or working in the kitchen making candies for her family's shop, she is playing Phantasm Quest. She has plenty of free time since she has no plan to attend college and can easily finish her homework at school. She is hard to pull away from the game and will only ever leave for a shopping trip to the mall or a family emergency. She is very good at cooking and multitasking, having once cooked a nice sit-down dinner while hacking at low level monsters to help her level up. She also is a peacekeeper in a way since she is not to fond of fights in the guild.

Name: Emdra

Sex: Female

Class: Cleric

Race:
Elf

Appearance:
attachment.php

Markings:
A simple flower shaped marking on her back to show she is of the forest elves.

Weapon:
A blessed staff that she crafted with the help of her older brother who also plays the game, having gotten him to pay for most of it by taking his shifts at the family store for two week and letting him collect the pay. Made from holy metals it boosts all of her spells. It also works as a melee weapon with its elaborate, and rather sharp, top design.

Armour:
Though she doesn't wear any real armour her choker is blessed and boosts her defense a few points, but nothing to severe, just enough to keep her from dieing instantaneously.

Magic:

Heaven's Light - A wave of bright light that bursts from the staff, causing massive damage to undead monsters and stuns weak to average strength monsters which are not undead. It is a heafty spell and can cost a good amout of mana, even for her, so it is usually saved for when things are getting bad in a fight.

Mass Heal - A complete heal of the group, restoring standing members back to full health and fallen members to a third of their health. This spell takes up quite a lot of mana as well so it is saved for after battles. Removes all alements and any curses that a player might have gained in battle.

Heal - A smaller healing spell which can restore, at a maximum, half of a total players hit points. This does not require much mana and can be done countless times within battle. This spell can also heal poisioning, sickness, and minor curses.

Gardian Angel - A full on magic sheild that protects the person it is cast on, being able to take quite a few hits before dissapating on its own. Depending on how many people have it cast on them can determine how much mana Emdra will lose.

Doople Ganger - A magical image of one or more players used to confuse or mislead ememies. Does not require much mana so it is easy to do in battle.

Benefits: As an elf she can use stronger spells sooner, even though she is of a low level. She is also quick footed and her form allows her to fit into small spaces if required. Her healing abilities are the strongest of the group and she has the largest mana supply, making her a good person to use heavy costing spells.

Inconveniences:
Because she is of low level and a cleric she is also the weakest of the party, meaning that if left alone for too long then she could easily be taken down. She also powers through mana quickly since she is not built for melee and can be stranded in a bad spot if she runs out, also leading to a quick demise.

Inventory:
8 Mana potions, 3 Healing potions, 2 Defense boost potions, 2 Strenght boost potions.

History:
To be determined.

Guild Name Ideas:
Phantasm Knigts

Name: Nathan Smith
Age: 20
Sex: Male
Personality:Friendly, sarcastic, prone to violence (only in-game), vocal
How long have you been playing the game?: 2 Years
Relationships:

Pattern/Emdra-He works as a mentor to her, teaching her the basics of Party Support and giving her advice on what spells to invest in. Still, he was the first healer for the guild, and with the occasional problems others have with his attitude, he can't help but feel that he's training his replacement.

Life: Nathan works as an auto mechanic, which is working out pretty well for him. It lets him earn a nice amount of money, and he has free time in the evenings.

Name:Rhodes Van Helsing
Sex: Female
Class: Sorceror/Cleric
Race: Human
Appearance:
e05144e3c4c8d4245e0312f6000d213b.jpg
Markings:Nope, nothing to see here.
Weapon: Rhodes doesn't actually use her weapon in a fight, but she possesses a "Magician's Blade". Most sorcerors ignore it, as while it does expand their mana pool, it only boosts force damage and not elemental damage. For a force specialist like Rhodes, it's the perfect weapon.
Armour: Rhodes' clothes are enchanted quite heavily, and just about double her health pool. Unfortunately, they don't offer much in the way of actual protection.
Magic:

Blink-A short distance teleport. Line of sight and line of effect only.

Dominate Person-Mind control over a NPC. Sufficiently strong-willed NPCs can resist, and it only works on humanoid targets who understand the caster's commands. Rhodes can only command one person at a time.

Programmed Amnesia-Erases up to the last five minutes of an NPCs' memory.

Heal-Follows all the same rules as the Cleric's heal.

Raise Dead-Returns one dead player to life, with a fraction of their health.

Fireball-Your standard AOE explosion.

Force Bolt-The most basic attack in a sorceror's arsenal, Rhodes has invested rather heavily in turning her copy into a strong attack spell, preferring it to a wide variety of elemental attacks.

Force Barrage-An upgraded version of Force Bolt, available to mages who invested in it. Unlike it's little cousin, this version of the spell is capable of targeting mutiple enemies at once, or sending all of its bolts at a single target for massive damage.

Shining Octohedron-"The Zero-Range Obliteration Spell", as it's in-game description provides. Burns all of a mage's remaning mana in exchange for a ludicrous amount of damage. This attack must be delivered with the mage's hands.

Teleport-This spell can transmit Rhodes and the other members of a currently active Party to either the guildhall, one of the world's major cities, or a previously set waypoint. There can only be one waypoint set at a time.

Benefits: As a human, Rhodes has no particular benefits or disadvantages. As a mass murderer, she gains experience much more easily than other members of the guild. Her particular class combination affords her a patently ridiculous mana pool, and access to most of the spells in the game.

Inconveniences: As a human, Rhodes has no particular disadvantages. As a sociopath, she has trouble getting NPCs to work with her. Her particular class combination means she has very poor defences, and must rely on threat management and running away to survive. Also, her class combination means that spellbook space is always at a premium for her.
Inventory:
Mana Potion x 15

History:
Rhodes comes from a rich merchant family. She was supposed to be married off to a noble, granting her family nobility while the noble family gained enough money to forestall their bankruptcy, but following her father's idea of what to do was never in her mind. Instead of perfecting her charms and learning to be a dutiful wife, Rhodes spent long nights perfecting her magical skill before running away. She joined up with some roving marauders who helped her rapidly improve her skill, before striking out on her own and joining Spyte's Guild. They needed a healer, she could heal, and she wasn't a rookie.

Guild Name Ideas:
The Stars of Destiny
The Liangshan Heroes

Other key notes:
-Nathan's gender is known to the other members of the guild.
-Rhodes is not exactly nice to NPCs, but is more than aware of the fact that Indiscriminate Murder Is Counter-Productive.
-Rhodes got up to her current level due to some help powerleveling from IRL friends. They may be important later.

My interest is piqued. Seems like a nice thing to ease back into RP'ing for me. I'll try to have a character up by the end of tomorrow. :)

EDIT ONE: Got the IRL part up now.

EDIT TWO: Finished with the sign up. I had it done earlier, but I had to wait to get back on.

Name: Marie DeVille
Age: 14
Sex: Female
Personality: Childish and immature, but disturbingly intelligent.
How long have you been playing the game?: About a year and a half.
Relationships: To most she is cordial but not totally friends with. She regards a few as close friends. Nobody really knows who those few are, though.
Life: Her life is distinctly divided into the months in which she has to attend school and the months in which she does not. Other than the summer months, she has to attend school, which causes her to not be able to play very often. She is mostly preoccupied with school work and will sometimes even skip out on real life socializing in favor of studying or doing her homework and projects. In the summer months, she tends to go to the beach and/or pool and play Phantom Quest much more often than normal.

-----------------------------In-Game---------------------------------
Name:
Magia

Sex: Female
Class: Sorceror/Bard
Race: Human
Appearance:

Her wardrobe tends to be inspired by either Victorian-based styles or some sort of outfit worthy of a harajuku girl. However, she will sometimes just dress in simpler outfits when she feels a whim to.
Weapon: A pink wand with an enchanted pearl inside of a crystal sphere on the end that has miniature pink wings made of mana on either side of the sphere. It doubles as a mic for her singing-based skills.
Armour: She has very light, flimsy leathor armor. The top piece resembles a tank top and the bottoms are a pair of lightweight shorts. They give little in the way of physical defense, but are enchanted to give her more defense against magic. They both go under her regular clothing since she likes to battle fashionably. Her headgear is a set of headphones that provide little in the way of physical defense but provide some magical defense and resistance against debuffs from other bards. She also wears a ring made of silver and a oval shaped sapphire.0 that enhances her magical powers.
Magic:

Notitia Aquae:
She sings with her wand as if it were a mic, creating a small swarm of blue colored notes made of water magic that assail her enemies for as long as she sings. Low to high damage depending on how many of the notes hit the enemy, medium speed, medium range. Can only be performed twice a day.

Magia: She points her wand at the enemy as a narrow stream of rainbow colored light-based magic bursts forth and attacks the enemy. Low damage, high speed, medium range.

G-Clef: Her wand transforms into a treble clef the size of an adult man that then shatters into various pink music notes which form a shield large enough to protect one or two people. It breaks quickly depending on how strong the person is. Magical attacks take longer to break it, though.

Fight On!: A lovely little party buff that generates a large circle that flashes pink for a second. The queue for this move is Magia shouting "FIGHT ON!" while thrusting her fist into the air. The spell temporarily increases party members' magical and physical attack power for two or three minutes at the most.

Notitia Pura:
She sings with her wand as if it were a mic, summoning the treble clef from her spell G-Clef. As the G-clef amplifies her voice, turning the notes she sings into pink, water magic based notes that float off freely, a vast circular expanse forms around her that provides slow but steady healing for as long as she sings. Furthermore, friendly players who are healed by Notitia Pura gain a slight water magic-based buff that makes their attacks slightly stronger.

Benefits: As both a bard and a sorcerer, she does not suffer from the terrible lack of offensive power that most bards suffer from. She also has a larger mana pool than regular bards and has access to water and light magic.
Inconveniences: Because of her dual classing, she is more specialized in magics that have buffs and debuffs such as the light and water elements. This keeps her held back from having more powerful spells as a sorceror. Furthermore, because of her role as bard and her childish demeanor, most do not take her very seriously and relegate her to healing and buffing in battle. Her outlandish outfits in-game also attract undue attention/attacks toward her.
Inventory:
Ressurect Scrolls x3
Health Potionx3
Mana Potionx3
A black violin (her alternative weapon)
History: Magia started out as a simple sorceror. As she was playing, she found that she only liked the water and light elemental magics within the sorceror's vast range of spells and soon decided to take up some musical skills associated with the bard class. She was invited to the guild for her pve and pvp tactics and for her quirky but flashy presentation in battle. She has been in the guild for only a few months, now, however, so she is not too close with all of the guild members, yet. However, she hopes that she can become better friends with all of her guild members, even if she has never explicitly stated as such.
