One Piece: An Odyssey

"Okay okay okay, I won't piss anyone off." Ayame needed to take that two foot pole out of her ass and have some fun. Even with her claws near him he didn't flinch. If she tried to attack him he would simply turn into plasma and let them go through him as many times as she wanted to until she calmed down...Then again that could've made her even more angry and go full beast mode on him. Whatever the case he just let her go off and guard the ship while the rest of them were off.... 'Wait did he just say he made a hole in the ship...? Maybe I should just ignore it for now.' He thought to himself, shaking his head in slight exasperation. Right now Roy needed to get tools for building weapons and to repair the ship when it gets damaged. An idea came to him; The Doctor used to work in the underworld so surely he must have some connections of where to get the tools that Roy would need. "Doc I'll make a deal with you. If you do your shady underworld schtick and take Roy to go buy some tools then I'll treat you to some drinks around the bars. This isn't a request by the way. It's an order." He handed him money to go buy whatever tools that Roy needed, or at least materials to make the tools. He turned on his heel and before he walked away he told them that they were to meet in front of the ship in three hours. At this point Roma made his way through the crowds of people.

People were bustling about everywhere with the streets packed, making travel slow and tedious; more that it made it easier for thieves and pickpockets to steal. Pirates could be seen all over who were either looking to recruit, same as them and others that were peddling so called precious treasures or trinkets. A rancid stench of booze and sweat mingled strongly in the air; shouts from angry travelers or from grouchy drunks stumbling into groups. The place just gave off an unsavory and rotten aura that spelled trouble for any who were either naive or ill prepared to be in such a place.

Just like home the Doctor thought, though this dock was tamed compared to the shadowy underworld he came from. Who knows what kind of strange merchandise one would find here, but he didn't care about that stuff right now for the lack of sleep had left him in a rather bad mood. That mixed with the growing headache and the dryness in his throat was only making it worse and was rather looking forward to a drink; when the captain suddenly told him to take Roy to get some materials. Not only did the man suggest it, but ordered him to do so, turning his already dark mood foul and rubbed at his forehead thinking he had the gall to do so after having to prevent the man from making a huge mistake.

One that ended with injuring his arm and turned to roma with a forced and rather eerie smile, his pale skin seeming to glow in the showing of his teeth.'Oh? ....sure. I can handle that.'Even his tone had an uncomfortable, chilling edge to it, warning the man not to push it any more than that before the Doctor held up a finger.'I'll hold you to that drink...captain. This way Roy.'Whistling to the gullible shipwright and motioning with his finger for the android to follow, pondering on the ways he could make Roma hurt after this.

Roy was looking insde of a store, being sidetracked once again by shiny gimmicks and various things that the vendors promised to be one of a kind. He wanted to buy so much and searched his pockets for money, but instead handed one of the men lint. His eye twitched as the vendor cursed at Roy. Roy shrugged and ran along, catching up with the other two. He nodded and followed the Doctor as he told him this way "Okay" He said, following without a second thought as they departed ways from Roma. He turned to the Doctor, curious where they were going "Wher are we headed to the Doctor?" He asked, tilting his head.

Seeing Hayden's movements, Ai sent off another rifle shot to his forehead before she unsheathed her knife and dropped from the tree, using the imbedded blade to slow her descent as the blade of energy sliced through the top of the tree.

Pulling her already loaded pistol from its place on her belt, the mermaid glanced towards the sky to shoot at the glaive that she had seen whiz by her before the blade of energy reached the tree.

Turning her attention back to Baz, Ai darted to another tree for cover before loading another shot as she used the tree for cover before firing at Baz' chest in case he had somehow deflected her previous bullet.

Ducking as he ran forward, Hayden's eyes narrowed when when he felt the heat of the bullet warm his scalp as it passed through his hair. Extending his hand outwards, he barely caught Fenrir as the bullet caused its trajectory to alter slightly. Falling forward, he rolled instinctively when he heard the next gunshot and the bullet passed through his left forearm.

Coming up behind a large rock, he crouched down low before flinging Fenrir in Ai's direction.

-Four Days Later-

Ai jumped awake before cursing profusely, to think she had fallen asleep. The cuts and gashes from the past four days burned in the salty water of the cave she had passed out in. At first Baz was just an annoyance, she could have simply left the island, yet she couldn't help but want to best him at this marathon of a fight that had lasted day and night for four... fucking... days. Why? To say that she did it. And because she really wanted that sword and glaive.

Wait... why was she here? Oh right, more ammo.

Shaking herself awake, the mermaid fumbled around in the dark before finally turning on the small lantern, the eerie glow illuminating the fact that there were only four rounds left.

"Great."

This little bout had cleared out her small stash she had saved on the island in case of emergencies.

Shrugging, the brunette blinked to make sure she was awake before diving down, slipping out of the cave as she realized it had been perhaps a few hours since she entered her hideaway and she decided to lay low to the bottom of the river, swimming her way back to the forested area of the island before climbing onto shore, her senses alert as she made her way through the forest to get to higher ground watching constantly for the swordsman.

Crouched on top of a large tree which overlooked most of the island, Hayden hummed quietly. The game was fun, but he couldn't help but feel as though it was slowly being dragged out. While a nice game of Cat and Mouse is always enjoyable, even he was at his wits' end. After having not eaten or drunk anything in the past 4 days, he could feel his patience wearing thin. A part of him wanted to just ask the girl where the nearest island was, while the same part of him wanted to crush her throat.

"Women always make things more difficult than need-be..." He uttered in annoyance, standing on top of the sturdy branch as he prepared to crawl down before something at the bottom caught his attention. How could he have never noticed it before? It was right there. Taking a deep breath, he leaped off of the branch in a leap of faith as he slowly rotated in the air so his back would be facing the pile of hay at the bottom of the tree.

...

.....

........

"OW!!" Hayden cried as he laid on the ground not moving, completely surrounded by hay. Groaning, he pushed himself off the ground, coughing as he stumbled forward and hugged a tree to steady himself. "Those fucking liars! That doesn't work! That's some bullshit, man!" He complained to himself as he stumbled off, keeping his wits about him as he waited for Ai to strike.

Ai paused as she heard a yell in the forest and she couldn't help but smile. To think he would give away his position.

Waiting a moment longer, the brunette crouched before leaping forward in a dash, slipping through the forest with relative ease before scaling her way up the nearest tree and loading her rifle. Just four shots left... she had to make them count.

Slowly, the mermaid focused on the general direction she heard the yell. Surely she was close enough to see by now?

There! The woman smirked as she saw Baz, the pain from not eating the past four days becoming worth it as she gradually watched him come into range for a clear shot.

Narrowing her eyes, she tried to predict his movements as she shot at his stomach, hoping to land a vital hit before she pulled herself tightly against the tree. Making as little noise as possible instead of loading another round and giving her position away.

As a precaution, however, she held her pistol close, its two remaining bullets ready to fly at any moment as she knew that she didn't need the rifle to land a perfect shot.

Falling backwards when he heard the gunshot, Hayden's eyes closed as the bullet made contact with his chest. Collapsing on the ground, he lay un-moving, a pool of blood forming on the ground beneath him.

'Passed between the third and forth rib... Clipped the liver... The bullet definitely passed straight through... Feels as though my sternum is unharmed... Estimated recovery time... A week, at least.' He rambled mentally, diagnosing himself as he played dead. Laying sprawled out on the ground, he slowed his breathing to a neigh-stop as Fenrir was primed to release a light flash in exactly forty-five seconds.

'5 seconds to confirm the shot hit... 10 for her to leave the tree... 30 for her to approach, based upon the gunshot and when I felt the bullet impact... Bitch better not decide it'd be fun to shoot a corpse.' He continued to ramble, hoping his little plan would work. Playing dead was a gamble, but so long as she remained at a distance, it'd be almost impossible for him to subdue and/or kill her.

Peeking from her vantage point, Ai could barely believe her eyes. Surely with the reaction time she had seen from him before, he would have been able to at least deliver a counter attack.

Hissing under her breath, the brunette slipped from the tree and slowly approached the unmoving man, eager to get her hands on the supposed-dead man's weapons.

"About fucking, time."

Stowing the pistol, Ai unsheathed Impaler and held it ready as she gradually made her way towards Baz' fallen body, promptly stopping thirty feet from him.

She could see the wound from here, and couldn't help but wonder if that was a truly fatal shot.

Growing tense, the mermaid slowly and silently readied the pistol once more, crouching as she shifted Impaler in her grasp and aimed the gun at Baz' head.

"Like you said, you could chop off my hand before I fired if I got too close."

Waiting a moment for a reaction to her words, the brunette squeezed the trigger just as a flash of light blinded her momentarily and she fired, hoping that the trajectory had remained the same as when she could see and she readied to strike the first thing that either touched her or came into view.

He could feel his lips twitch when the 'whirr'-like sound of the flashbang going off blended with the gunshot and he was barely able to move his head out of the way, the bullet grazing his neck. Rolling backwards, he recovered in a crouch before dashing forward, whipping around to thrust the sole of boot into Ai's stomach.

"Pro-tip, girl - always shoot the body to make sure your target is dead." He instructed with a mad grin, his pupils seemingly glowing red.

Being caught off guard by the kick, Ai cursed under her breath as her hands instinctively went for the pouches on her legs, bladed knuckles emerged from them as she linked left hand's fingers through the holes, the other hand sheathing the impaler just before drawing a long curved blade.

"I was about to do that, fucking pyro."

Blinking in order to clear her spotted vision, the mermaid cursed under her breath before dashing forward, using her smaller size as she sliced at Baz' midsection while keeping her left hand ready to deflect the glaive.

"Should have ran." Hayden commented as he stabbed Sin's sheathed form into the ground, using it as a balance beam as he used it to vault over Ai, letting her blade slam into the side of the sword's sheath. Landing behind her, he threw Fenrir over her head, using it as a blindspot as he dashed backwards, a smirk on his face.

Glancing over her shoulder to see Baz, Ai shifted her grip on her bladed knuckles before using them as a makeshift throwing star and grabbing Sin's sheathe from the ground, oblivious to the glaive. It would take too much time to reload her pistol with the risk of the black haired man's boomerang in the open, so she quickly darted to the side, intending on getting behind a tree which she quickly put her back to whilst dropping the sheathe and loading her rifle, intending on firing at Baz again while she couldn't help but wonder why he put space between them.

Swinging Sin, Hayden deflected the impromptu projectile and a chuckle escaped him when he saw Ai grab the sheath and make a break for it. Extending his hand, he caught Fenrir before immediately flinging it past the tree he saw her duck behind. Dashing forward, he swooped down low before cutting through the tree in an upwards arc.

Finally ready with the rifle, Ai fixed her eyes back onto Baz as she saw him dashing forward and she quickly jumped out from behind the tree, dodging the slash through the tree before she fired at him yet again, this time going for his lungs.

Spinning Sin in a circular motion, Hayden was able to alter the bullets trajectory though it still managed to pass through his left shoulder. Narrowing his eyes, he growled as he dashed forward, Fenrir making its return trip aimed straight at Ai's right shoulder.

Focused on the man in front of her, Ai grabbed her Impaler and shifted her grip on it before tensing as she readied to block Baz' strike, her grip on the weapon strong before a searing pain erupted in her right shoulder and she realized the bastard had already thrown the glaive.

Cursing, Ai moved the weapon in her right hand to her left before slashing upwards at Baz' body.

Smirking, Hayden slashed downwards to block Impaler.

"What's the matter, Ai? Didn't see it coming?" Hayden inquired, raising a leg before kicking at the girl's abdomen. "Feel pride - you've lasted longer than most."

Letting out another loud yawn, holding up a hand to his open mouth as he did so before placing it back in his pocket. Thankful for his fruit's ability; taking away the pain of the heachache, though he always kept a small signal of sensation that would alert him to any dangerous wounds or injuries and could feel the slight of his massive headache. Made worse by all the constant loud chattering from the people around them, which nearly muffled out Roy's question.'Two things, 1. under no circumstances are you to go wandering off or believing what anyone but me tells you. 2. Once we get to where we're going, you're to remain quiet since you might say something you shouldn't and these type of people take offense rather easily. Understand?'Turning his head to peer over his shoulder at Roy, making sure to speak loud enough for him to hear; looking ahead while rubbing at the back of his neck.'I'll also need a list of the materials you need and doubting roma gave you enough to get the best materials, we'll have to go to the more shady shops and haggle what we can and most likely they'll be cheap, but one must work with what they have.'He shrugged for there was no way he would be paying for this, doubting at this point they would be able to pay him back so he would try to get everything Roy needed and a good thing he was a rather persuasive person.

Jumping back from the kick, Ai glared openly at Baz before switching her grip and reaching back to her shoulder in order to pull Fenrir from her shoulder. The wound hurt like hell, but all the attack had accomplished was limiting her ability to fight with her right arm.

"Longer than most isn't what I'm going for."

Dashing backwards, the mermaid threw the opened Glaive to the ground, driving Impaler down on it with the intention of keeping the strange projectile in place before she unhooked Sword Breaker from its leg holster, the smaller blade notched with slats with the sole purpose of catching longer blades.
