Basic World

Essentially, this RP is set in a futuristic Japan on the brink of civil war between the Isolationists (Sakokuists) and the Expansionists (Kakuchoists). The characters would be members of an agency known as the WSA (World Security Agency) that were sent on a mission to infiltrate Japanese society, specifically the Nu-Samurai, the country's military, in order to investigate allegations of Russian allies among the Sakokuist leaders of the army.

The world is similar to our own, except it is set in the year 2155, in the midst of what is known as the Second Cold War between the Euro-American Alliance and the Eastern European Empire. The WSA is an agency dedicated to snuffing out international crises before they happen, and combat Eastern European infiltration of neutral nations. That is exactly what they were sent to Nu-Japan to do.

Nu-Japan is the most technologically advanced nation in all of the world, with robots making up most of the workforce and the majority of humans being allowed to live in luxury. Nu-Japan is technically ruled by the president. However the country's military, known as the Nu-Samurai, have the true control over the people.

The reason you and your WSA comrades were sent to Nu-Japan almost two years ago is because of the rebellion in the north. The disgraced bastard son of one of the leaders of the Nu-Samurai has risen up to combat the Expansionist regime of Nu-Japan. He wants to return the country to its Golden Age and isolate itself from the Western nations which have taken advantage of it. And so a civil war has been brewing ever since, and there are rumors that the Sakokuists have been receiving aid from the Eastern European Empire.

I'll add more info if this gets enough attention, but the plot basically is that the characters are WSA agents (or members of the Nu-Samurai) that have joined the ranks of the Nu-Samurai on a standard show of goodwill. Their primary mission is to investigate the government officials of Nu-Japan and unravel the conspiracy which threatens to plunge Nu-Japan into chaos. No one can be trusted...not even your fellow agents.

Definitely an interesting concept.
