My Hero Academia: Next Generations

Ryoku's natural inclination to roll his eyes was momentarily suppressed by the idle, intrusive thought; the idea that one of these classmates had the ability to detect such a minute, sarcastic bodily tic. It was strange indeed, that in a room with a recently unconscious prankster dog-boy, the anthro-being in question was not the target of his unspoken distaste. That, he imagined, was the inherent providence of 'community'; so many facets of the kaleidoscope, and the largest shard seldom the centerpiece.

What bothered him was that posturing altruism, these hero-aspirants 'bravely' heading on the threat of extra laps, volunteering to take the punishment upon themselves. He recognized, even as his eyes threatened to somersault within their sockets, the irrationality of his emotions, his condemnation of such behavior in a school of heroes. But all that drama for something as simple as laps.

Still, he smiled when Ren-sei had read the names of those 'posturers'. Rank 1. Rank 2 (or, rather, Rank 1a and 1b). Of course they were. Perhaps that mentality was why. Credit where credit was due, he supposed.

"Oooooooooooh, Ren-sei, could we just do the laps already? Been loving all this… drama, so far, but all this talking about laps, and 'heroic sacrifice' is getting to be more exhausting than just running 'em." He winked in Suzu's general direction; he couldn't help it.

And besides, the punishment made sense as a standalone exercise. Heroes needed to be in physical shape, with or without their quirk. Ryoku in particular recognized the benefits of developing a proper one-armed running form, in case he was ever deprived of his quirk. Furthermore, he resolved to emulating the chewing motion while running; people didn't realize how hard it was to do such a thing in a labored run.

He twirled a finger in his green hair, distressingly bored despite the occasion.

Sighing a bit to herself, Takagi seemed to mumble something about Carlos looking like he was enjoying himself. Well, he probably was until the chop into his head by the educator. And then he still seemed to somehow be enjoying himself afterwards—Maybe. Takagi didn't know what to call it, but he was doing something at his seat. Tadasakibara then decided to begin class going over the exam rankings—and increasing the laps to 30. Even Takagi's carefully controlled gaze faltered for a moment to show a twitch of the eye. Thirty laps? He couldn't be serious. There had to be catch.

Thankfully, it wasn't all bad. Her position on the rankings brought a self-satisfied grin to her face. Third place wasn't first, but it was damn good for 1-A of the Hero Course. Plus, she wasn't far behind first spot, as the teacher had said. She could pull up to the top rank.

The newcomer then spoke again regarding the tall girl's remarks. "Fear not, for I am not as energetic as she, either. I look forward to our time together."

The moment of self-satisfaction was short-lived however, as Maria's calculations rung out. Twelve... Twelve-thousand meters?!

"Verily, Tadasakibara-sensei... I find myself agreeing with my peer. Would it be possible that we could get it out of the way?" Takagi spoke up with bitterness in her voice, mentioning Ryoku's comments. "Better to start now while there's still time left in the school day."

Takagi understood the need for physical exercise, Titan implemented it into his and her own training. Especially with a quirk like hers that dealt partially with one's physique, it was important maintaining athleticism. Still, such an amount was beyond her, as she surmised it was for the rest of her classmates. Perhaps he just wanted to see when they all dropped? To test their limits? This was an awfully extensive punishment for something so easily reversed by a shower.

She as well questioned the attempt at improving cohesion. True, heroes were at times required to cooperate. However, there were just as many occasions in which heroes needed to fulfill their duties alone, with no one capable of coming to their rescue should they falter. Such activities made sense for the military, when the squad effectiveness required each individual to be in sync, but not such for heroes. It made little sense to disguise the punishment as such if all their instructor wanted was to push their physical training.

GaKQq9g.jpg

After Yuzuki's words, the teacher finally took action. Seeing the class in an uproar he spoke about the Hero Class and how everyone should behave more like a part of it. Although she agreed, she found herself in conflict with what he would say next. He criticized Suzu for wanting to be the one to solve the whole class' issues, adding 10 more laps to the running course, providing that they were going to make it by quirkless. Even to Yuzuki, that was a huge amount of laps. On a normal track, that meant twelve kilometers of running. Yuzuki had done similar endurance training sets, but if she managed to get past this test, it'd be a new record for her. Smiling, she couldn't help but take it as a challenge in itself. If it transpired, the teacher would without a doubt be doing it to test how long the students can manage to endure. In the speedster's case, it was certainly a worthwhile dare. Even so, she had to wonder if he was serious about it... Was this another test of morals?

Her attention drawn again to the teacher, the class was just starting and what followed next were the analysis of the entrance exam's results. Keeping her eye on the list, she noticed the first ten, and the four members in class that had managed to make it there. They were none other than the ones willing to make it through the initially quirk track run. Which meant she was right... These students were certainly the ones that posed a threat. While she shared the idea that Heroes needed to be altruistic, the concept of cooperation was beyond Yuzuki, especially when the cooperating ones were to be the people she was going to compete with in the future. To further make this point moot, the teacher stated later on that students who failed to follow through the course and keep high enough rankings would be expelled, all the more flaming Yuzuki's thoughts that in the end, the people in class were her competitors. If she had to keep her position, she had to be the best she could be. For her father and, now, for herself. A few others were also worth her watch, but the other threats could be the recommended students, given nothing was said about them. The largest one Yuzuki saw to the moment was the newcomer. She didn't like surprises and the girl was a presentation of that. Regardless, he went on explaining how each student managed to get past the exam, and Yuzuki took notice of his comments. Thanks to him, she was able to remember who the first and second place were.

The first place, Suzu, possessed a transformation quirk, which Yuzuki only remembered one from the profiles. It allowed him to take a demon-like form. She had to wonder how much control he had over it. Transformation quirks were always tricky to use, which is why he was noteworthy. Aside from that, it seemed like all they did to an extent were enhance his physical strength, much like Yuzuki's Acceleration. Strength alone means nothing, however. He might be strong, but it means nothing if he can't land a hit... What else does this boy hold in store... For a moment her eyes were glued to him, but the reminding of the other quirk was more important.

After all, it could be a much larger threat than any other she had surmised. Black Smoke use meant that it had to be the double quirk user she had read about. Black Smoke and White Lightning. The combination is exquisite, but offers him a balanced offense. That second quirk, however, might be the most dangerous. I should gauge it's destructive potential. Yuzuki thought as she stared at the white-haired boy. He too was one she was very curious about. The way he had offered to join on the extra ten laps showcased he wasn't afraid to get into a challenge, either, so he could prove more than just interesting to Yuzuki.

Those two were perhaps the most noteworthy for her, as the other quirks she was unsure of. The teacher's concise comments left little room for her to extrapolate upon, and despite the mountain of information on her mind, without anything to link to it was useless. She figured she would know by the time they engaged in class. It was difficult to tell if the teacher approved of Quirks in the tests from his comments, something Yuzuki wallowed upon. After all, physical challenges were interesting and everything, but that was not the reason she came to U.A..

Her thought was brought back by the torrent of commentary by the students once more, it seemed like more than just one were intent on not having their classes start any time soon. Telling by the teacher's tone, though, she could guess he wasn't gonna let any more time elapse. If anything, chances were he was going to seriously punish the class if they did not intend on shutting up and letting class start already. If she had to be honest, though, Yuzuki too earned for class to start by now. Things had been hectic the entire time in class now, she just wanted everyone to shut and stop worsening the situation so that class could move on already.

The secret student decided to voice her discontent with the running trials, and a few other students followed suit. Soon, another commotion was brewing as some students voiced discontent with the the number of laps and distance they'd need to run to complete the punishment, whereas others wanted to get on with it already. With this many dissidents, it was difficult to tell when class was actually going to start without the teacher having to bonk everyone in the head. Couldn't they all see that they were just getting the situation to worsen? In this kind of situation, silence was the best choice. Taking upon that decision, Yuzuki stood silent in the back of the class. At this point, if they managed to worsen the situation with even more laps or a heavier punishment, there would be little to do.

"If I were to be honest, however... I too just want to get this class started by now." Thought Yuzuki as she sighed in discontent.

Momoko gave small smile towards the white haired girl, feeling a bit giddy that she met someone who likes books. She took a mental note to herself that she should find Matsuda-chan later and maybe ask her to have lunch with her. I wish she wouldn't say no when I ask her later.

A doll like female then entered the room and introduced herself as Maria Amanar, a recommended student. Immediately Momoko stared and gasp. She have never seen such beauty! Momoko couldn't help but feel a little bit envious. Her blonde hair looks super soft and silky. Ah, I wonder what it would feel like to brush it Feeling her cheeks heating up, the pinkette quickly shook off such improper thoughts. She shouldn't think of Maria as a doll! She's a human! and Momoko should start treating her like one.

But before she could even say hello, the students once again became restless as Tadasakibara-sensei began adding more extra laps. They'll now be running 30 laps in total. Momoko could understand the frustration of others but is it really necessary for them to complain? In all honesty, the pinkette didn't mind running extra laps. Sure her stamina isn't good but the extra running will help her build that. Besides, their teacher wouldn't let them run extra if it wouldn't help them right? Also, she have a pretty good endurance so she's certain it will all work out.

Tadasakibara-sensei then began showing their exam's scores and everyone seemed to settle down. Momoko went back to her seat to take down notes and made sure to write down everyone's name as well as their feedback in hopes she could learn from them. She stole a glance at Suzu as he was ranked first, wondering if she could talk to him later just to ask him some questions. She really wanted to learn from everyone as much as possible but somehow, she couldn't help but feel a little bit embarrassed if not a nuisance. She didn't want other people to think that she's kiss ass or a leech. She also didn't want the other students to think that she's a nuisance.

At the mention of her name, the pinkette snapped out of her thoughts and smiled shyly. She knew she could do better but she felt quite proud of herself. After all, she really did her very best during the exams. She screamed her lungs out until she she lost her voice and her throat became sore.

After the teacher finished the explanations, students began talking once again. Some were complaining while the others asked if they can just get things over with. Momoko kind of agreed to get things get over with but hesitated to say anything about it. After all, she prefers to avoid any conflict. But as more time passed and the students became more restless, Momoko couldn't sit still anymore. Letting out a shrill scream enough to gain attention but not enough to stun someone nor break the windows, the pinkette stood up from her seat and blushed once she saw everyone's attention was on her. "W-We should.. um.. let.. Tadasakibara-sensei say what he wants to say. I- I mean, he's the teacher so um.. shouldn't we just listen to him instead um.. complain? B-Besides, all the complaining could.. well.. add more laps so..um..yeah.."

Now feeling extremely awkward, Momoko then sat back on her seat and looked down at her desk, making sure to let her pink hair curtain and hide her blushing red face.

SHOUYA AZUHA

Now that the class had settled down from the chaos spurred by Carlos and Mezame, Shouya took his seat like the others. Their homeroom teacher finally continued with giving more information. A black board with their current rank. As much as he was hoping, he did not end up at the first spot.

In some way he did, but he was sharing it with the Devil Boy. Giving him a quick glance, it wasn't hard for him to know what he was capable of doing, to some degree, that is. Just like the third spot, Takagi, he was also destroying the robots in his path. Even if Shouya did it as well, he was more or less calculated with his decisions.

He continued to give his opinion on the others who were ranked below both him, and Suzu. Most of them had an interesting perk, but judging by what their teacher was saying, he felt that he wouldn't have such an hard time against most of them. Perhaps it was because of his ability to use not only one Quirk, but two. Even so, the bunch in his class was an interesting one.

It wasn't the only thing though. Due to the chaos from earlier, Tada-sensei decided to add 20 more laps to each student in their class. So now, they had to run not only 10, but 30 laps. 'Fine, okay. I can do that.' He was determined to last as long as he could. Despite his lasting endurance, he knew that even for him, it would be too hard.

This time around, he stayed quiet while the others voiced their concern about the thirty laps they had to run. Yes it was a lot but maybe their teacher wanted to see how long they would all last before falling flat down on the ground because of exhaustion. Not only that, but Momoko pretty much caught his, and likely the attention of the class.

Shouya could not deny it, but he agreed with her. If only they allowed their homeroom teacher to continue so they could get on with their first test. A smile came across his face. At least someone else wanted the same thing. Others might've too, but he believed that Momoko made her point.

"Nice one, Momoko-san." Seated next to her, he whispered to her.

There were a few other students in the class that weren't mentioned by Tada-sensei. The recommended ones. The newly arrived student, and two others. What were their Quirks? What could they do? He wanted to get ahead of this, and be sure he knew something about them. Despite being curious like a cat, he knew that their Quirks would be revealed sooner, rather than later.

TADASAKIBARA REN

Now that he had their attention, the questions began. Maria Amanar was not fond of the punishment, but honestly, Ren couldn't care less. "Uh, ah.. Yes, You'll be running until you can't anymore. Until your legs give up."

"And the recommended students will be starting at the bottom. So you'll have to work your way up. Good luck." Once he was done answering Maria's questions, others asked the same thing, or rather, his students were eager to get to the thirty laps. Have their punishment be over and done with.

At the very least, his sleepy student, Mezame, apologized. It wasn't neccesarily needed, but the chaos in the class gave him the opportunity to push the class from the very first test. Ren was never a strict teacher, but the punishment was happening because of them.

Matsuoka Momoko took a stand as well, voicing concern about giving their teacher the chance to continue. She was nervous, and he could see that. Hoping it wouldn't cause much trouble in the future in terms of being social. Ren would be keeping an eye on her progress.

It was time to adress the entire class. "Alright. Now that we're done playing around.. We'll be moving outside the school. To the training field. I'll be explaining more once we get there. So those of you who are eager to get to our very first test, you're in luck." Walking up to his table, he picked up his book.

The three recommended students came to his mind. Maria Amanar had a unique Quirk, and he was curious how she would use it for the ball test. Then you had Mizokumaru Renji, who could manipulate vibrations in general, and amplify it, by also carrying his voice. He already felt that his Quirk in combination with Momoko's would be quite interesting.

The third recommended student was Matsuda, Yuzuki. The fact that her own Quirk could be harmful to even her, she had to be careful. She could run very fast, but how fast would that be? How much can she control? The ability to use speed was interesting, and there was much she could do with it. Only time would tell how harmful it is for her. Ren had read the reports and knew that he had to keep tabs on her as well.

"Follow me." Leaving the classroom, his students followed. While they were striking conversation with one another and staying behind him in a beeline formation, he came across a few of the other teachers at the school. "Heading out for the first test, Tadasakibara-san?"

"Ah, We are, yes.." A short smile in return, and before they knew it, they had gone and changed from their school uniform to their gym clothes. Not so long after, they had arrived at the training field. Breathing fresh air was nice one in a while. Feeling cramped in the Academy could be annoying from time to time for Ren. His students were more or less curious about what the test was going to be about.

No time to waste, he felt that they were owed an explantion. Of course they were owed. "Well then.. The field you're standing on is specifically made to test out your Quirk and its strength. Obviously, yours as well." Taking a deep pause, he continued.

There was a bucket of white balls next to his feet. "As you can see.. Each one of you will be using one of these to throw at full strength. Your objective is to throw it as far as you can. The longer you throw it, the higher the chance for you to also.. Rank up. Yes, this can help you get higher up on the ranking boards."

"Oh and, once you've thrown the ball, you'll be running around the track field that is--" Turning to his side, he pointed towards it..

"There.. Thirty laps, as promised." A smirk was plastered on his face. Wondering how many would actually manage to run all of the laps. It was going to be exhausting, that's for sure.

"Ah.. Now that you know what you must do, I'll have Matsuda, Yuzuki start."

Throwing order was as followed.

Matsuda, Yuzuki
Xiao, Bai
Mezame, Nemuke
Mizukomaru, Renji
Amanar, Maria
Fuchizaki, Suzu
Matsuoka, Momoko
Azuha, Shouya

~ ~ Matsuda Yuzuki ~ ~
GaKQq9g.jpg

Yuzuki's silence was short lived. Soon enough, Matsuoka-san had voice her concern to everyone, successfully silencing them with a scream. Perhaps there was more use to this quirk after all. The sound was similar to when Yuzuki was running... A deafening sound. It left her to imagine just how much higher she could go in volume. Regardless, the masked figure nodded approvingly at the act. She was happy to see that someone finally stood up to make class start.

Good work, Matsuoka-san.

No soon had she shouted, the teacher finally began to speak, now addressing the whole class again. He responded to everyone's expectations simplistically, by stating that yes, the plan was to exhaust them. Now that was something Yuzuki smirked at. Her first class and a worthwhile challenge was set up already. Twelve kilometers was going to be her new aim for a record, and right now it was perfect. Considering Yuzuki's practices focused heavily on enduring not only the pain and injuries caused by her own Quirk, but also the stamina drain from overuse, she thought she could do very well in this test particularly. If anything, this was the perfect moment for her to reach for first place. Starting from the bottom didn't mean anything, she would rise to expectations farther than anyone else could. Her excitement was clear in her eyes now, focused cleanly at the teacher as he continued.

It seems like class would take it's turn to begin and the teacher guided everyone out of class and through the corridors. As everyone formed the line, Yuzuki remained behind, silently making her way with her classmates in front. With an expression as firm as steel, she focused her thoughts in the track and the thirty laps, as well as on what other kinds of tests she could expect from the school. This was the first time in years she had found a source of excitement. Now that she thought about it... This was the first time in years she saw the sun from an angle different from the ones present in her Grandpa's mansion.

I really did shelter myself from the world outside after that, huh... Then now is the time to find myself other horizons, I guess...

As she pondered, it didn't take long for them to find themselves now on the field outside school. It was huge, almost as sizable as Grandpa's garden. At the corner of her eye she saw other installations. The pool and the gymnasium particularly stood out as she was then shocked to hear the teacher's voice again. Turning herself to face him, she paid attention to his explanations. Apparently, today's test was to throw a ball with all the strength they could muster, which Yuzuki assumed to involve using their quirks, and then to start their run across the track field. With his explanation finished, he turned to the students one more time, his eyes going across the line before stopping on her. It seems like she was the one to start. Nodding, the masked girl walked up to the basket of balls.

Picking up one of them and staring at it for a second, she analyzed it's form. It was roughly the size and weight of a baseball. Same materials, too. Easy enough to apply Acceleration on to multiply it's speed, but Yuzuki's throwing strength wasn't all that great, not to mention using Acceleration on a curved movement would often hurt a lot more and result in loss of force. She'd have to think of a way to maximize how much force she could apply to the ball while being able to use her Acceleration on it.

With a deep breath, Yuzuki stared off at the distance and then began her movements. She threw the ball upwards in swift movement, without using her Quirk, and then plastered her eyes on it as she pulled back her arm. Aiming to piston the bullet off into the distance with half the maximum speed she could muster, she focused the quirk on her arm. For a moment, her entire body glowed a bright, sky-hued blue. Her arm in particular was engulfed in a wind-like, similarly colored energy, although much, much brighter. As the ball began it's movement downwards, Yuzuki's eyes changed to a bright purple, and it was like everything was slower. She could cleanly see the ball falling... To which she then she moved her arm.

In the blinking moment, her balled fist connected with the ball in it's dead center, and the energy on her arm spread across and into the ball. The blue force dissipated in a powerful gust of wind behind Yuzuki's fist before the ball took off into the horizon, leaving behind a tracing line of similar color to the energy used. The angle wasn't as great as she had planned and her arm now hurt like a bitch, but it was more than enough to send the ball off to a good distance as it flew with her exponential Acceleration.

Soon after her "throw", Yuzuki was already heading to the track. For a moment, she winced. The amount of energy dispelled had went entirely on her arm, but it hurt less than if she threw the ball, at least. Not only that, but she was able to apply significantly more force to the ball thanks to the punch. Now all she had to do was endure the pain for a few minutes until her body healed the muscle. Thankfully, it did nothing to her legs, which now sprinted towards the track field at a controlled pace. Yuzuki knew better than anyone that this was going to be a fight of endurance. Bursts of speed would only serve to tire her out faster, which is why Yuzuki was going for a speed that would conserve energy the most, even if it was slower than what she could normally do. For her, all that mattered was being the best no matter what.

Suzu's apology brought about a coy smile, a harsh contrast to her enraged state just seconds ago. With a little bow - still accompanied by her entire seating furniture, she slowly vibrated and slithered back into her designated spot, back straight, and observed the teacher with feverish academical devotion. Cold, grey dread had clumped her insides already; her morning sprint to class had lit up her lungs to a likely embarrassing extend - there was no way she'd make it through 30 laps. Nevertheless, her porcelain doll smile never left her face as Tadasakibara called for them to follow him outside. If anything, leaving the crammed classroom would be nice.

Upon taking her first steps on U.A. grounds as a student, she was now wearing the very same attire countless heroes have worn before upon embarking on their path to become icons. Bai was beaming, a goofy smile etched into her face, as she happily waddled after her classmates, until they had reached the field where Tadasakibara explained their task. Bai felt her composure slip just a little, her facing paling upon their teacher's reminder of their soon-to-begin punishment.

"Don't discourage us with that reminder all the time, Tadasakibara-sensei," she gargled quietly from the backrow, almost falling on top of Renji's feet upon reaching the peak of her anxiety. Quickly, she recomposed herself as Yuzuki stepped up, however.

"Mh?"

Bai watched intently as the thunderous lights engulfed the white-haired girl's body. She couldn't help but feel they weren't unlike the Quirk of another certain hero. With her head cocked to the side, Bai's eyes shrunk into squinted slits as she attempted to follow the ball's trajectory.

"That was great, Matsuda," she chirped like a cheerleader, only to notice that the girl had already trotted off to begin her 30 laps of doom. "Oh..." With slouched shoulders, Bai stepped up to the basket, feeling just discouraged enough to frown, before she reached down and fished out one of the balls. Squeezing it gently, she accessed its texture and physical attribute. With a quick little glance towards the other students, Bai felt the pressure tightening her chest. Biting her lip, the girl gave it her best shot to tune out her own doubts, and instead focus only on giving this throw the best attempt she possibly could.

A little trail was carved into the sand, as she positioned her feet properly, reaching back, as if to wind her own body up. However, instead of a mere throws, a square texture of post-it notes or a softcover book's pages seemed to rise from within her skin, shifting and moving across the entirety of her arm, until they finally reassembled into a comically disproportionately enlarged version of her own arm.

With a concentrated furrowing of her brows, Bai lurched forwards, keeping herself within the perimeter she wasn't allowed to leave by barely an inch, and her arm now... unfolded. Her own limb quickly losing its larger size, repeated replicas of her limb emerged from within the previous arm, all of the copies consisting of flaky white sheets that momentarily left a trail of white behind, until they decomposed and - seemingly - fed the newly emerging copy. Meanwhile, the ball was carried further and further, continuously gaining distance, at the very least until Bai couldn't see her own creation no more.

A heavy sigh escaped her lips, as she wiped her forearm over her face, a content smile illuminating her features. "Not bad," she muttered to herself, twirling around to their teacher and bowing respectfully, before she reluctantly gallivanted towards the tracks.

Listening to all the instructor had to say, as well as her more quarrelsome classmates the doll like girl was not amused in the least. Holding her tongue given her lack of authority, she would have to ponder how best to deal with these issues after today. With the instructors Spartanish attitude towards training, she worried about the future of the A class. Taken with her own dislike of the points system, while it was made to foster competition, that could also lead to messy situations, though she rather doubted the expulsion would happen short of a major incident.. Listening to the make it seemed he wanted to check the strength of one's Quirk, though in this case, wasn't the purpose of the test also partly to deal with control and distance? Throwing she didn't much like this gym suit at all, it was rough and course, tacky in it's overall style, it was like a nursing smock with huge logo letters on it. Absolutely deplorable..if allowed, modifications would be needed.

Naturally instructor Tadasakibara's next words jolted her out of her critic of the uniform, Matsuda Yuzuki, Xiao Bai, Mezame Nemuke and Mizukomaru Renji were all slated to go ahead of her.

As Maria watched with some interest, Yuzuki had seemingly punched the ball in some manner and sent it sailing, immediately heading off in a jog around the course, for a Ninja she lacked any sort of finesse, either way with her manner of being, Maria was struck with the view of a soldier more than a Hero.. Would she set a good example, or become a terrible warning? The Chinese girl did something rather interesting, stretching her arm to the limit and dropping the ball, Maria had not yet estimated the distance by the time Mezame went up. And her throw was fairly standard, her quirk seemed unable to help with this, hopefully the teacher wasn't more of a Drill Sergeant than he seemed already..

Then it was Renji. Curiously the boy has made use of his quirk to batter the ball forward with acoustic power to boost the ball forward with sound. While interesting, the sound also irked her somewhat, at least he was normally a silent fellow. Or so it seemed, either way she was curious how far his ball had went, Maria rather doubted she would match his range.

With her turn finally pcoming, Maria could have went the brute force route, but in place decided to exercise a bit of precision with her own throw, a quirks power could be marked in two ways, brute force and control, in any case it was now time for a puppet show, in this case control would be showcased.

"My turn is it? Very well."

Bowing low to the instructor and taking the ball in hand, Maria holds it awkwardly in three fingers of her left hand, using the remaining two to flip open the Grimoire at her hip, while on her right hand's fingers a series of thin, almost immaterial wires cropped up. With a pale glow from the book and along the wires, first one, two,..no, five small dolls looking much like their owner appeared though with slight variation in clothing, among them, one was unarmed and the others had a Cleaver, Lance, Flail and another Lancer Paired with a shield.

Floating around as Maria moved her arms and fingers, the first unarmed doll waited in front of her, as the others waited in a unified formation, hovering about her, all of the wires were drawn directly to her hands and to them. While they had some rather interesting melee weapons, hinting at how strong they could be, what was to come next would be a bit of a surprise. Taking the time to spin around and bow, the five dolls turn and bow, winking at the other students or taking up a martial salute, all the while Maria pulled on the immaterial strings, speaking as she did so.

"Do your best, little ones, we can do this."

Taking the ball from her left fingers, Maria tosses it, as her right flings forward, while it was clear this throw would not go far, the blue eyed girl seems to zone in all of her attention on the five dolls, in unison both hands go to work, the five surge forward, the lancer catching the baseball just in time, carrying it like a boulder balanced under it's one tiny arm, at thirty feet out, the operation became marginally more complex.

The dolls seem to link up their own wires with one another, traveling in a ranked formation, each doll would suddenly stop, serving as an anchor for the rest, passing the ball in turn to the next in the formation. Squinting her eyes as she tugged on the wires, the distance was at it's final point, roughly that of a football field, or perhaps just right over, as the final doll tumbles and stops, casting the ball from it's arms, kneeling in it's hovering position. Curiously Maria had the doll stop and make a crying face, balling it's fists up to it's eyes, well to any who would have noticed.

Holding the Grimoire in her left hand, the pages quickly flip, dolls vanishing one by one, as the wires glow with the book, exhaling deeply, Maria turns around, nodding to Tada, the final distance was for him to measure. Overall it should be further than most who didn't have physical quirks, maybe some with it, but still shorter than some of those. Not being her normal use for the dolls it was however the furthest extent they could reach as of now. The other pair which she had not shown, could not wander anywhere near that far away, though she could link them for a greater reach.

Either way she was mentally fatigued from the effort, with a shake of the head and taking a deep breath, the blonde haired girl begins her run, taking a slow, yet steady pace, leaving whoever was next to go, she had no intention of finishing all thirty laps, plus she wanted to keep an eye out for the other throwers.

Mezame Nemuke

All the noise finally seemed to be calming down now. Not until after Momo increased it to almost glass shattering levels. Thankfully, nobody opened their eyes to a floor full of window class. They'd definitely shoot up to 100 laps if that'd happened. No, just a bit of ear holding for anyone that wasn't prepared for the sudden outburst.

With their attention now focused on Tada-sensei, he was finally able to carry on with things. From the sound of it, they'd be starting with their test before they did their laps. As annoying as the laps sounded, Mezame couldn't help but be excited about the first test. None of them had been given any insight as to what'd be, so it could be anything. Combat, perhaps? Preferably against something actually capable of being put to sleep. The possibilities continued swirling around in the now woke girl's mind as the class made their way outside.

Stopping in a large field, from which they could see the track where their punishment would take place, Tada-sensei gave them the details of their first test. Ball throwing? Really? Not only was her power not all that great for such a test compared to most others, but it seemed like a pretty boring thing to do as well. What was this supposed to test anyway?

A sigh escaped her. There wasn't any helping it. First up was Yuzuki. From what Mezame could remember, she was just really fast. Sounded like a good quirk to send the ball flying. The blue lightning that came to surround her came off as a bit of a shock. Was this her way of powering up? The girl started with a toss straight up into the air, then greeted the ball with a punch as it came back down. Can that even be considered a throw? She just punched it. The distance she got out of it couldn't be denied. The ball was soon out of sight. No doubt that warranted a high score.

After her was Xiao. What her quirk was exactly, Mezame knew very little, having not really seen anything of it during the entrance exam. Her method of getting the ball far was convoluted, and would've given Mezame a headache had she not been under the effects of Wide Awake right now. Another throw that Mezame wasn't sure she could call such.

And then it was her. Thankfully, there were enough people after her that her pitiful attempt would hopefully be forgotten. With her already being under Wide Awake's effect, there wasn't anything for her to do but pick up a ball and throw it. Retrieving one of said balls, whose texture and weight gave it a very baseball-like feel, Mezame prepped herself for what would likely be the most disappointing throw of the group.

Wanting to make sure she could get as much power into it as possible, she took note of the line Xiao had drawn earlier to limit herself. That was the furthest most point she could go before the ball had to be out of her hands. It was no mystery that running starts somehow added a bit of distance to throws, and Mezame planned on taking advantage of that fact. Putting a few feet between herself and the line, Mezame focused her attention on whatever strength she could manage in her arm. Starting her run, she stopped just before the line. Her arm behind her, Mezame put the weight of her entire body into the throw, actually falling across the line once the ball left her hands.

The ball flew, then landed. It couldn't have been much farther than what the average baseball pitcher could throw. Right now, with her quirk as it was, this was the best she could hope to manage. Not wanting to wait up for any comments on her throw, Mezame decided to get started on her run, unsure of whether or not the teacher would call her out for still being under the effects of her own quirk.

<<Renji Mizukomaru>>

Plenty had gone on by then and passed, Renji having nothing to add or detract from the situation. 30 laps from others mistakes? Perhaps, or perhaps it was just a test the teacher would've thrown their way anyways. No use crying over spilled milk when you can instead clean it up and search for an alternative. Following the class out as explanations were given, the boy watched as the first few people had thrown their ball. So far, each have been impressive - even the sleepy girl, yes. Finding it his turn, Renji brought a hand up to his neck and cracked it as he then rolled a shoulder, "Alright then. Looks like I'm up.. So far so good guys, let's keep it up yeah?" He gave a grin as he looked back to the others, taking his hands out of his pants pockets before fishing a ball out. Optimistic as ever this one, it seemed.

Walking up to the circle, he looked over the ball as he loosened himself up a bit more idly. "Alright.. Maybe a delayed reaction will help best here.. That ought to be fun. Since it's a throw, that's gonna limit how much it'll affect it, but I can see it working... Let's go then." Talking to himself a bit, he was looking up at the sky a bit with a grin on his lips. He threw the ball into his left hand as he shifted his legs about, taking a stance as he looked to take in a slow, easy breath and exhaled. Placing the ball down by his left side, he seemed to focus. Doing so, the others may actually notice loose pebbles on the ground would start shaking and rumbling around.

It would look like nothing was going on until the shaking was showing more as time went on. Bringing a hand up to his right shoulder, he held his right arm back a bit as he seemed to focus there, his arm would look to visibly pulse on occasion, vibrating like a blur. He seemed to let out a low, rolled and extended growl through a breath before he finally moved, looking to be done with what he was planning. Picking the ball back up in his left hand, his right arm stood idle as it shook violently in the air, some of the closer students could swear they could hear it humming. Getting ready to throw it, Renji pivoted his feet once more in a slight pitcher's stance. Bringing the ball close, he brought his right arm up and hand close to the ball, he'd slide out and stomp a foot in place as his right takes hold of the ball, rearing back and throwing it out into the air.

The ball went high, but it looked only slightly above average for a throw until it was about to reach the peak of its height and start losing speed. Before that happened, a faint 'boom' started to snap out and the ball shot out further.

*Boom* *Boom* ... *Boom*

Every time a small bang occurred, it was low in noise but deep and they weren't in any sort of pattern until the first one began after a delay. The first few impacts would have sent reverberations through the air long enough that made everyone feel it was like one would at a nightclub with the music BLASTING and beating through their core, getting softer after each impact. Each one would send the ball further, but the direction of each was skewed and some may have even looked to send the ball directly for the floor. Still, the result would have brought the ball further than an ordinary throw regardless. By the time the ball hit the ground, it'd be a battered mess but still intact. Renji had used his quirk to transfer a large amount of vibrations into the ball in pulsating degrees and limited the amount of time he held onto the ball; had he held onto it too long, it probably would have blown apart with too much transferred in.

With the results made, Renji just kept smiling and turned to the others, giving an exhale, "Well. Hope that didn't look too awkward for you guys, I had to think it through a bit. Good luck now." He gave a two-fingered salute to the rest before he started to run off. It was time to see how much he could go through with the laps, something he did feel a bit disconcerted with about finishing, but he'd give it his all regardless, starting at a steady pace.

Matsuoka Momoko

Almost everyone

It seems her scream worked as their teacher began adressing the class that they're going to the training field for the laps.

Now standing on the field wearing the school track suit, Momoko listened closely to the teacher. It seems their quirks are to be tested by using the ball while their physical abilities are to be tested by the laps. To others, the objective might be simple but for the pinkette, its a bit complicated. She didn't like using her quirk because of its destructive nature. Just one scream and everything could be destroyed! The pinkette then quickly shook off the thought, afraid that it would only make her even more nervous. She just needs to figure out how she's going to use her quirk and hope that she wouldn't destroy the entire academy.

Soon the test started and Momoko watched with wide eyes as Matsuda Yuzuki began her pitch. She couldn't believe her eyes! Her jaws almost went slack at how the white haired female used her quirk to throw. To say that she wasn't impressed would be a lie. "A-Amazing" she murmured as she tried to watch where the ball landed. She punched the ball after throwing it. But as much as she admired the female, Momoko couldn't help but feel envious. How can she not be when Yuzuki made it look so easy? She couldn't help but wish she's as powerful as her.

Next was Xiao Bai, someone who Momoko haven't met yet. Upon first glance, the pinkette already knew that they were going to be good friends. There's just something about the girl's aura that she's drawn to. Maybe I should ask her to join me for lunch as well.. she seems like a nice gi- Her thoughts were cut off when Momoko saw Bai's transformation. One minute the female's hand was normal and the next it was made out of paper! The pinkette haven't seen anything like that before. Her quirk is paper? Amazing! Ah, I should really stop looking so surprised.. she suddenly reminded herself Everyone here has a different quirk so I should expect things like that..

Mezame Nemuke was called next, another girl who Momoko haven't met yet. Based on her appearance, the pinkette assumed that the female was sleepy if not uninterested. Ah it seems my assumption was correct she thought to herself upon seeing the throw, feeling disappointed and worried. If I remember correctly, we need to give our very best for us to rank up. Ahh, I wish she won't be at the bottom..

After that was Mizukomaru Renji, the guy who helped her earlier after falling down face first. Momoko was about to give him a thumbs up in an attempt to cheer him on but decided against it when she realized that they're not that close and it would be awkward. Hence, the female decided to just watch. At first she couldn't see anything up until she noticed the vibrations. For a moment, she thought that there's going to be an earthquake but it was only Renji's quirk. Upon throwing the ball, Momoko watched and winced at the booms. It seems his quirk is something related to vibrations if not sound.. Wait... do we have a similar quirk?

The pinkette didn't get the chance to dwell on the thought as the doll like female named Amanar Maria was called. Once again, Momoko was awestruck by her grace and beauty. She cannot help but think that Maria was really a doll! Her theory became stronger upon seeing the blonde's quirk. Maybe she really is a doll. I mean, if she can control dolls.. she can make a doll replica of herself right? Maybe what I'm seeing really is a doll and the real Maria is at home. Realizing how ridiculous that was, Momoko then shook her head T-That's absurd. Ah! I should really stop thinking about Maria being a doll. She's a person. A PERSON. Not. A. Doll

[INSERT REACTION FOR FUCHIZAKI SUZU HERE]

Momoko was too focused on Suzu that she almost jumped at the sound of her name being called. Immediately her heart began hammering inside her chest like it belongs to a rabbit running for its skin. She was nervous. Too nervous that her hand around the ball was shaking. Her legs felt like jelly as she made her way to the line while her breathing was starting to become short gasps. The pinkette felt like she was going to black out. Like she was going to have a panic attack "I.. I.. um.."

One glance at her fellow classmates and Momoko felt like a deer trapped in the headlights. She felt like their stares are too intense. Too focused. She felt so pressured by them that she just threw the ball without thinking. She threw the ball too high and the pinkette watched with wide eyes as it started descending. If she let the ball fall, the distance would be too short and she'll fail. "I'm sorry.." she apologized to everyone after an inside solution quickly popped inside her head.

Taking a deep breath, Momoko then covered her ears and raised her head, letting out an ear piercing scream towards the ball. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The pinkette watched the ball shot back up, her throat now hoarse due to how high and loud her scream was. She wanted to see if her classmates and the windows are okay but refused to do so in fear that she'll someone knocked unconscious or with ears bleeding. Thus, without a word, Momoko ran towards the track as if she's running for her own dear life.

The first order of business was to go outside for a quirk apprehension test and Suzu was pumped up for it. He couldn't wait to see his classmates in action and see who would be posing a threat to him. Even though he was ranked one in the class currently, even if he fell a bit lower he would not mind. He wanted to be the best hero, not the best score gatherer. They were given the time to dress into U.A.'s gym clothes and head outside into the field where a track was. Out in the corner was a basket of balls and they were led towards it, speaking of how they were suppose to throw it as far as possible with the aid of their quirks.

He watched silently as masked depression was up first to bat. She ended up punching the ball in a lack of better terms, and sent it flying before heading off towards the track to start the 30 laps. He didn't really understand her quirk but he would figure it out, and learn in a fight not just watching. Next up was forehead-chan who yelled at him earlier. She made her hand into paper! That was quite interesting. Something to watch out for he thought.

"Damn..." He mumbled under his breath as the doll girl finished her display, and then next was sleepy girl who didn't seem that impressive but that was due to her Quirk not being able to be used on this test. Next was the human vibrator, who sent the ball flying as well.

Suzu walked up after Renji had made room and headed towards the track to start. He wasn't going to be flashy as others as his right arm began to transform. His arm started to get thicker with muscle before the skin changed into a deep red, fingers growing longer and more tipped, claw like as he picked up one of the balls from the basket. Taking in a deep breath he planted his right foot firmly into the ground as he started to wind up, left leg raising as if he was about to pitch, body slightly twisting before throwing it forward with foot planting into the ground. He put all the power he could into it, and that was all he could do.

Not even looking to see how far it was going, or if you could even still see it his arm began to transform back as he started a light jog towards the track. His mind was on the quirks he saw and was questioning if he was on their level. Was he even good enough? He could enhance whatever part of his body he transformed, but it was limited because of his lack of control. Everyone else seemed to be more controlled and developed. It was hard on him to think that maybe he wouldn't be the best, but that was how quitters think. Even if his quirk wasn't as special or as strong, he wasn't going to give up or ever stop moving forward. He would achieve his goal, his mind was set.

Katsumi couldn't believe how absurdly late he was. He hadn't been able to sleep well the previous night on account of how excited he was for his first day to attend U.A. Thankfully after asking around for only a few minutes a teacher in the halls informed him where his class was and where to slip into his gym cloths. Before he knew it Katsumi was jogging outside and towards his presumed classmates just as some kind of ungodly sonic screech met his ears. Said scream of course caused him to instinctively cover his ears and drop to the ground until it ended. He'd get up and dust himself off only to see a pink haired girl who he presumed was the one who'd just done that scurrying to the running track since she seemed to be the only one who didn't react or flinch. "Wow..." Was all that could escape the boys lips. Is everyone in this class gonna have crazy powerful quirks like that? He'd think to himself before promptly jogging up to sensei Tadasakibara and verbally apologizing for his lateness along with polite bow.

Katsumi would of course be informed of what was going on and would promptly wait his turn while he watched the remaining students that'd hadn't participated yet. Admittedly he'd wished he could've seen all of his classmates' quirks at work but he wouldn't worry much as he knew he'd get chances to seen everyone in action later on at some point. While he waited and counted everyone who was in the class as he had no idea that class had so many students. Thankfully he was last in the line up so he wouldn't feel as nervous as most of everyone would be preoccupied running laps rather than solely watching him.

Last but not least Katsumi stepped up and picked retrieved a ball. He tapped the ball against his forehead a few times in thought as he pondered what to do. He knew he quirk would only send the ball about 30 meters out and heck he could simply throw it farther than that on his own. Think think think...there's gotta be something I can do. It was at that moment when Katsumi looked down at the circle that surrounded him and the empty sky above him that he got an idea that was either cheating or clever. "That's it!" He'd verbally cheer to himself with a smile before his body and the ball would appear to shift and vibrate before disappearing completely. For anyone who looked up would see Katsumi suddenly appearing around 100ft up in the air before he disappeared once again doing the same thing getting himself to a height of about 200ft straight up from the circle. Katsumi quickly whipped his arm back and twisted his body before tossing the ball as hard as he could down range. He was hoping that the increased height of his throw would send it farther since it would take longer to hit the ground; maybe if the wind was in his favor it would go even further.

The boy let himself plummet for a little while before teleporting one last time as he reappeared in the middle of the circle landing upon the dirt. He could feel a knot in his stomach but thankfully he hadn't exerted himself too much. He had taken care to make sure he only teleported straight up so that he technically stayed within the throwing area. Afterwards he'd promptly join running laps behind everyone else in the class; thankful that he wasn't running more than what everyone else seemed to be running for being so late.

SHOUYA AZUHA
They finally moved on from the class. It was time for their first test and Shouya was more than ready to see what it was, and what they would do. Following their teacher, they had the opportunity to change from their school uniform to something more appropriate for what was to come next. In his gym clothes, he followed the rest onto the open field.

Standing there with the others, his hands pocketed, he listened intently on their teacher. The first order of business was to throw a ball to test their strength in combination with their Quirk, if possible. Shouya knew that some may be at a disadvantage here, because their Quirk wont be of much help.

Once Tada-sensei informed them about who was to go first, Shouya was thinking of many possible ways to throw the ball. How would he do it, and which Quirk of his, would be most useful in a situation like this. His red eyes squinted ever so slightly. Gazing at one of the recommended students. 'Thats.. Her name was Matsuda, Yuzuki..'

Curious, like the others, he watched as she threw the ball up, before going into a particular, unique stance. Focused on what was to come next, Shouya could almost not see what happened before him. Her arm was enveloped in blue energy. Like an aura, and then her fist connected with the ball. 'She punched it!?' Oh, she did, and the energy from her arm had moved over to the ball, sending it good distance forward.

Shouya was wondering what she did, though judging by how fast it was, perhaps her Quirk was connected to speed, or agility. Next in turn was Mezame, Nemuke. What would she do? Judging by what Tada-sensei said about her Quirk, he more or less knew that her Quirk would be useless in this situation, but the determination behind her preparation before the throw, and her run, impressed her. He liked her dedication. 'Your Quirk does not define you as a hero.. Your actions does.'

And now, it was another recommended student next. Mizukomaru, Renji. Now what could he do? 'What is he doing?' Shouya was confused, watching him place the ball on the surface, to his left. Though he couldn't help but notice some pebbles shake around him, and the rumbling, it increased. He could almost see that his right arm was doing something. It was shaking? Vibrating? After a few moments, he got ready to throw the ball, which he did.

At first, Shouya assumed it was just a regular throw and what he did earlier was only for show, but thats when the booming voice around the ball occured. Because of that, the ball went even further than what he anticipated, however, when it landed, the state it was in, was horrible. 'Explosions?' Judging by how the ball changed direction from each boom, he assumed it was something similar.

The next in turn was another recommended student. This time, it was the student who arrived late to class. Amanar, Maria. Once she threw the ball up in the air, her Quirk, or rather the dolls she manifested through the book, or whatever it was, worked in unison to keep it in the air for as long as possible. 'A fitting Quirk..'

Shouya did not really know what she did or how those dolls worked, but for now, he could clearly say that the recommended students thus far, were an interesting bunch. However, it was almost his turn next, but at the moment, it was Fuchizaki, Suzu. Another student who he shared the first spot on the ranking board with.

Concentrated, he could see his arm change. It became bigger, more sinister-looking even, and the claws did not help. It truly did look like demon's arm. No wonder he was called devil boy back in the class. Even if Shouya had seen him during the entrance exam, he could clearly see that a punch from that arm would likely be devastating, or close to it. Snapping out of his thoughts, he couldn't let something like this stop him from reaching his own goal.

The ball went flying, and went quite far. The strength behind the throw was no joke. 'So he didn't use both his arms like in the entrance exam..' At the very least, Shouya knew that he could transform more of his body into something else. There was now, one more student before himself.

Matsuoka, Momoko had the spotlight. 'Ah, her..' A short smile plastered on her face. He was glad to know that she helped quell the chaos back in the class. But once she threw the ball up in the air, he was surprised. Such a short distance. but, like the other classmates he just waited for something to happen. At this point, he couldn't get surprised, could he?

Though when she covered her ears, he got confused, but immediately felt his eardrums giving in to the screeching, loud, sharp voice coming from Matsuoka, Momoko. Quickly, Shouya held his own ears, whiile one eye was open, watching, and the others closed. "T--that.. Voice.."

Shouya looked at his teacher, to see his reaction, but what he saw, was a man who wasn't affected? "What, sensei is not affected?!" He whispered under his breath. Returning his attention back to Momoko, she finally stopped, but damn, the ball went far. The class took a few moments to settle back into the test, but more or less, everyone, and likely those who were also running the laps, were affected by her voice. That was a terrifying Quirk.

Finally, their teacher called him next. "My turn then.." It was Shouya's turn. Standing right before the line, he picked up the ball. Looking at it. 'Alright.. I have to use it.. It is the most suitable Quirk for this situation.' Both his arms were dropped to his sides. His eyes were closed. White lightning began to take a hold of his left arm. It was covered in it. It was also the left hand he was holding the ball in.

Taking a deep breath, he exhaled. The more time passed, more lightning was covering his left arm. A sparking, electric sound could be heard around his arm. Black smoke was beginning to billow from the ball. It was slowly turning black. Was he focusing too much? Opening up his eyes, he twisted his body, using the full weight of it in combination with his Quirk.

In a pitcher stance, he threw the ball up in the air, but the moment his hand had let go of the ball, a booming, electric explosion occured between his palm, and right behind the ball. Sending it flying with full force. Traveling through the air, you could see it leaving a trail of lightning behind it, but also creating up to three or four rings in its path.

Shouya was watching intently, with a serious expression, until the ball landed. If anything, one could probably see that it had burned up, and was pitch black now. Like the others before him, he too, left for the laps he had to run. A simple jog in its direction, before he began the thirty laps ahead of him.

While he was running, he could see the others throw as well, and noticed another late student who could teleport? "That's an interesting Quirk.."

Takagi Sunemizuki
Interactions:
N/A Mentioned: @Yzmael @RedArmyShogun @fol·ly·cle @Detective Zero @DANAsaur @Artorias @Akashi

Soon enough, the students got what they wished, or dreaded, and were ushered out of the classroom and to the locker rooms. Allowed to change into the gym attire, they amassed outside the main school building as their teacher revealed the track as if it were some sort of prize or reward. First, though, they would have to throw a ball.

Takagi had heard of these sorts of little tests, so while she couldn't be completely prepared due to yearly changes and differences between educators, she at least knew what to expect. Typically, they tested students on rather mundane levels; hit this bag as hard as you can, run as fast as you can, jump as far as you can. It was in this way that the school appeared to value raw power above anything else. It presented somewhat of an issue, as her quirk didn't necessarily enhance any part of her physique, but it could still be considered very combat-oriented and threatening, regardless of the opposing quirk. It was tests like these that required a certain—creativity.

First up was one of the recommended students. Matsuda, Yuzuki. Takagi knew of the situation regarding her parents from her own guardian. They were rather famous, with powerful quirks. Undoubtedly, their daughter would have something along similar lines. Watching the girl with an expecting smirk, Takagi was unsurprised when Yuzuki sent the ball flying as far as she did. The only surprising part of the process was her hitting it. It gave her an possible solution to the exam as well.

Harden her skin and smack the ball like a bat. It wouldn't compare to those with flashier quirks than her, but it would still go at a decent distance. Regardless...

Next was the sleepy girl, Mezame, Nemuke. Unlike her prior thrower, it seemed as though she was plagued with a quirk that served her no aid here. She simple threw the ball, much like a normal human would. Rather anticlimactic considering who she followed.

After her was Mizukomaru, Renji. A bit of a showboater from the looks of it—or maybe he was just being friendly or joking. Hell if Takagi could tell the difference. Either way, he sent his ball off into the distance as well, with some audible boom's sounding after the ball. Was that his quirk? Something with sound? Or did he have some sort of explosive quirk?

Following him was the foreigner, Maria. The one who replaced the tech genius in class. Her quirk was—Well, Takagi wasn't sure. Something to do with the dolls, obviously, but how she wasn't so sure. Needless to say her way of transporting the ball was a bit odd, but it got some some distance.

The Devil Boy was next. Now, his quirk was less of a surprise, having seen it at the exams herself. When he altered his arm and chucked it a distance, it was to be expected. He certainly seemed confident, running off without even checking to see the length of his throw. Then again, he was a bit of a showoff in class too.

Pink girl stepped forward after. Takagi didn't think that much of her—until the ear-piercing screech hit. Instinctively squinting her eyes in discomfort, her hair automatically curling around her ears for some attempt at mercy. That was some quirk, but it didn't really discriminate, did it?

Finally it was Shouya's turn. He chucked the ball and shot it in the air like some sort of railgun. He passed the tests, so he had to have some sort of combat proficiency. Still, it appeared to be another quirk centering on raw power, bringing a thoughtful expression to Takagi's face. Something with electricity?

And now, it was her turn. Stepping forward, Takagi's hair uncurled to reach out and cradle a ball in its own self-made basket. There were several ways she could go about this.

"Throw... No. Distance, is it?" She murmured to herself.

To call this a ball throw wasn't precise. The goal wasn't to throw the ball, it was to get as much distance as one could with their quirk. As several demonstrated, one did not need to exactly throw the ball. Like the masked girl had done, she could always hit it like a bat after hardening her skin. It would get some distance, but would it get the most distance? She needed to be more creative. Certainly, this test was not simply about raw power, but as well how would could make use of their quirk even if the situation didn't blatantly suit them. A versatility test.

Smirking, Takagi's hair suddenly began to move with purpose. The strand holding the ball laid back straight out, straightening and hardening, as other layers maneuvered to replicate the mechanism in her mind. She could always throw the ball with her hair too, but simply tossing it wouldn't get the maximum results. Instead, she would use her hair to create a mechanism that would allow her to launch the ball with the most distance. As her hair began to slow, it took a likeness to a catapult or trebuchet. Much of her hair appeared to droop down and form the hardened, immobile base around her body on the floor. With the throwing arm pulled down by another strand, locking it to the base, Takagi's body herself acted as the vertical beam directly attached to the throwing arm. The cradle tugged against its restraints as Takagi eyed the distance and suddenly, the strand keeping everything in hold released the main mechanism, causing the primary beam to whip forward in an arc, launching the ball from its grasp as it neared parallel with Takagi's body. As the ball flew off, she took a moment to return her hair's properties to normal, as well as its length, then smirking with satisfaction and jogging off towards the track.

"Now for the test which I will not be able to salvage..." She complained to herself with a sigh.

Oh come on. The teacher had clearly said to throw the ball. But Ayesha was just being nitpicky and smug. After all, this was what she was made for! The ninja girl was up first. Gotta say it was metal to say the least. She literally punched that ball faster than most people could throw it and then some. That had to hurt her hand right? Like what kind of acceleration is required to exert that much force? She have to get the nerds to figure that one out.

Up next was paper girl. She made a massive origami hand and simply picked the ball up and moved it over. Kinda lame if you asked her. Her quirk was interesting though. Ayesha wonder if she was made of paper, and that led to a whole slew of other questions. What happens if she's caught in the rain? Does pencil work on her? Can she get paper cuts? Can she cut herself? The world may never know. Or at least until she asks her.

The girl who put Poochebella to sleep was up next. To no real surprise her quirk wasn't well suited for this sort of thing. Ayesha almost felt sorry for her. She didn't know how her quirk worked, and failed to understand that Mezame might be the only person with the stamina to run all 30 laps.

Up next was the headphones. Renji. His throw was lackluster. That is until the bass dropped (or rather didn't drop). After the ball finally hit the ground, Ayesha laughed a bit. "That was sick. Really now, really."

When the dolls were out Ayesha was skeptical that that even counted toward the goal. But it was so creepy watching the dolls slowly stumble over each other that Ayesha couldn't look away. They seemed so... Captivating. Watching them move like that. She'd hate to wake up one day and see those things moving about.

As Demon Boy stepped up to the plate Ayesha let loose a bit of her snarky baseball attitude. "Stay classy pitch!" Damn. He actually got pretty far.

After him was the really quiet gir-"Oh God my ears! Are they bleeding? I can't hear anything! Canabella! Tell me are my ears bleeding!?"

They weren't

The kid who tied for first with Demon Boy was up next, and he simply blew the ball up. Poor thing never stood a chance. He had a good stance though. So far no one else really took a pitcher stance before throwing. Maybe he was into sports too? Seemed kinda quiet for a sports fan, but hey, who cares about roles like that, right?

"Is that a trebuchet? Out of hair?... Well that's something." She watched as the girls hair sent the proverbial 90kg stone the proverbial 300m.

But finally, it was her turn. She had been waiting for this. Stepping up to the plate, Ayesha took her spot, and her stance. "Okay, you guys ready to see a real ball throw?" Ayesha took a moment, breathed in deeply. She had spent plenty of time playing baseball, so she knew the proper technique. To her quirk on to that? She hiked up her and whipped her arm with a hearty "Huumh!" as her muscles tensed for just a moment before they released. The ball went flying at tremendous speed. It was what she was built for after all. It was just a really good match-up for her.

Her moment of glory was short lived though as she remembered the laps. Suddenly depressed she slowly began walking, slumped over with her head on the ground mumbling to herself.

@everyone really.

~~~ A Dynamic Entry is always Late to the Party~☆ ~~~
That voice. . . .
Matsuoka's yelp, though much more subdued than he remembered it, struck a familiar cord -- the kind of cord that makes you think of ear-rending screeches hurling robots into buildings while panicked testies squeak in panic, cover their ears, and scramble to avoid the debris of a falling building. To think That Dame was the one responsible for those nasty nasty sounds was a shocker alright!. . . .At least for Carlos. Such a passive seeming personality. . . .maybe there's something underneath? Ah heck ,there always is! A more pressing question would be why he thought of her as 'that dame'. C'mon Carlos, get with the times! The 'Japs probably don't even have a word for that. . . .but if they do. . . .Hmmmm. Carlos reminds himself to read the dictionary again.
And then Carlos reminds himself he's got a job to do, plans change and a better prank comes to mind! Brandishing his trusty pen he writes a few more notes down for himself whilst the class finally settles and Teacher-Guy start preparing them to leave, and when the time comes? Carlos casually pockets his pen and waits for the rest of his classmates to file out. He has to be the last out, so when it becomes apparent that Yuzuki intended for the same, he simply holds his hat to the chest, makes a fancy bow beside the door, and says "Lady's first~☆" with that sweet tone he'd used back at home to fool tourists into situations where'd it'd be awkward not to tip him.
Suffice to say, it works. As the last person to leave the classroom, none of his 'mate's would notice as he casually tosses his pen over his back as the door just so that the door closes onto the pen -- allowing him to sneakily step out of line when out of sight of the Teacher-Guy and his mates and back into the class room. . . .
And while they walk along, Carlos sets up his Distinguishable And Dynamic Prank!. Let's see your Sword defeat my Pen, oh Teacher Guy~☆ Once the deed is done Carlos slips out of class, taking the pen with him as he navigates a shortcut to the lockers via Super Scent, scrambling through halls, evading roaming staff, and eventually finding an empty classroom just above the boys locker room. Climbing out the classroom window and down the wall, he forces the boy's bathroom's window open when he can smell no-one near and squeezes his way through to fall into a bathroom stall.
The flush of a toilet, and our Doggy struts out of his stall, whistling to himself as if he'd always been with his mates, instead of Mission Impossib-ling his way around the campus. Sniffing at the air to see if anyone payed him express attention, he makes his way to his locker to change into his tracksuit, and damn is it tight! He'd have half a mind to file a complaint if that was even an option he considered. Instead he tries to stretch it out to little effect on the walk to the field, making sure to keep a fair distance from Matsuoka when their rank eventually comes to a stop. Not like he needs to be close to watch his peer's quirks, he's got Super Scent!
Sadly, Super Scent's going to have to do more than help him avoid a ruptured eardrum. With each display of technical skill and raw destructive force it only becomes more apparent that each and every person before him deserves their spot in Hero Class. No way in hell he's going to be left behind.
His name is called and with a stylish sashay he steps up to plate, takes a ball in hand, and. . . . and. . . . .Dances? You heard that right folks, our boy dances. Step after step in something that resembles Figure Skating without the skates but all of the chaotic-seeming spinning Carlos closes his eyes and bobs his head to an imaginary beat. Sight wont help him here, but Super Scent will; it guides every step, keeping his footfalls within the boundary as his swirls and spin become more and more erratic, the dancing doggy pushing his dance skills to their fullest to turn himself into a near-spinning blur.
And with a sudden movement he stomps his heel down, making his final spin as he takes up a pitchers stance despite the chaotic momentum of prior. . . .directing all that energy into a swift fastball that goes whizzing through the air.
"Young dogs can learn new tricks~☆" he huffs to himself as he sniff out the fruits of his efforts and teeters out the dizziness they earned him. Then, it's time to jog! Hopping off to the tracks, he starts off with an overly stylish yet moderate pace, conserving energy as he sniffs at the air, keeping track of his classmates progress for some odd reason.
Reactions: Detective Zero
Ryoku grinned, even as his ear throbbed from Renji's quirk. This was a sampling of the Academy's vaunted curriculum, all the myriad ways one could throw a ball. Ryoku acknowledged his thoughts did the school a fair bit of willful misinterpretation and disservice. Still, he at least had the discipline to keep that particular intrusive thought unspoken - perhaps even he was unwilling to add an extra set of laps to their respective burdens. A rare moment of consideration.
He eyed the ball thoughtfully, before allowing himself a sigh. The 'loadout-swap' was always a bit of a hassle. Down, down, the piece of gum - flavor thoroughly deprived from chewing - slid down his throat as he swallowed; in turn, his faux-arm drooped slowly downward as it melted away from his stump. For a moment, he was less than whole again. His 'good' arm, though he could barely tolerate the thought of calling it that, reached inside his pocket, procuring a cashew-shaped bit of rubber.
A flick, and Ryoku could feel the sterile taste of it, as well as the sensation of a grey-dark arm forming. He knelt towards the ball, even before the growth had reached fruition, allowing his hand to 'spawn' around the ball, immaculately timed.
The elasti-arm wobbled with a tensile force, before shooting the ball a fair distance aways. Nothing incredible… but for damn sure better than what his 'good' arm could manage.
He turned away, allowing his arm to again droop into nothingness as he began his laps.
TADASAKIBARA REN
Standing there, he was more or less watching his students take their turn in throwing the ball in combination with their Quirk. The first one up was the recommended student, Matsuda, Yuzuki. Ren knew a great deal about her background, and her relationship with her grandfather. His eyes narrowed down on her, noticing the way she her speed by passing it over to the ball, but obviously, with a rather unorthodox way of 'throwing' the ball. He smirked. 'Matsuda Yuzuki.. Good use of your imagination.'
Though he assumed her arm would be feeling some pain. Almost all if not every Quirk his student used, had some drawbacks that could harm them. The sleepyhead was up next. Even if her Quirk was useless in their current test, he knew that there would be many opportunites for her to use it in the future. Despite that, he could see that she wouldn't let that drag her back. She used her utmost strength to throw the ball, which was commendable in his book. This is how it should be.
Mizokumaru, Renji was up next. His ability to manipulate vibration and to pass his voice over to it in order to amplify such vibrations was impressive, and unique. However, he was having some hard to use it in combination with his throw. At this point, their homeroom teacher had pulled up his boook. Even if he was reading it, he kept his eyes on him. Once he threw the ball like a pitcher, he could notice that the ball was vibrating. Heck, the pebbles on the surface was shaking ever so slightly not so long ago. The vibrations must've gone into overdrive, giving the ball a 'boom' three times to extend the length it was thrown. The state it was in though, was not good.
"I would have liked to have that ball in one piece though.. Try to focus more on your Quirk in order to control it.." Ren knew that he had keep his Quirk in check, but despite that, a smile was plastered on his face. This wasn't so bad either, but could've been better if the ball was not torn up.
Amanar, Maria had a unique Quirk, and possible the weirdest one he had seen today, however, she used her with to keep the ball longer in the air, and further than some of the others. That Grimoire, and those dolls, but also the wires she can produce. Ren wanted to see how she would react against someone who could get up close. He had to test his students in many ways, and this was only the beginning. "Not bad.."
Fuchizaki, Suzu was up next. One of the top students since the entrance exam. Even if he was sharing his spot with Azuha, Shouya, he would likely win if they were up close. Though his lack of control over his Quirk made him a danger to the others. One of the reasons why Ren was keeping his eyes on him. He threw the ball though, and as far as he could. He transformed his throwing arm to that of a demon's. It again, reminded Ren that it is vital for him to focus by honing his control over such Quirk, however if his emotions got the best of him, he'd have to step in. "That went quite far.. Good job, Fuchizaku, Suzu."
Matsuoka, Momoko. Yes, it was her turn now. Despite her nervous attitude back in the classroom, he knew that her Quirk was quite devastating. She threw the ball up in the air, and used her screeching Quirk to take everyone by surprise. Ren, however, was not. He squinted his golden eyes, keep his gaze fixated on her. The glass windows trembled at her voice, but she was lucky none was shattered into pieces. "Matsuoka, Momoko, you have much to learn. You need to be aware of your surroundings. If you were working with another pro hero out there in public, what of him?"
A rather carefree expression was plastered on his face, but he was looking forward to another upcoming text in about a week, give or take. Still, there were a few students left to throw the ball. The next on the top of the ranking board for the time being was Azuha, Shouya. 'Now what will you use?' Curious, Ren was wondering if he'd use his lightning or black smoke.
At this point, the former was likely the best suited for the job. Not to his suprise, that is exactly what Azuha, Shouya did. Much like Suzu, he allowed lightning to cover his left arm, but especially his hand. It was a simple throw, but because of his Quirk, it packed some electrifying strength that sent the ball flying. Ren kept his eyes fixated on its length, and how far it got. However, Matsuda, Yuzuki was the only one who had a ball thrown into the air the fastest.
Sunemizuki, Tagaki, who had a rather unique Quirk, but one that was also devastating at mid or close range. That's what Ren would expect from it anyway. Though she was likely the first student who would top anyone else in using the most unorthodox way to get the ball up in the air. The length of her hair. A trebuchet, and just like that, the ball was up, up and away.
"Well, this is surprising." Closing his book, he continued. "Looks like something a student from the support class would do."
"Either you stay behind while working with another hero out there, and use something similar to this to keep your opponent, or a villain in check.. Or, if you do fight a villain, they would likely not give you the opportunity to make a trebuchet out of your hair."
"Keep in mind that this is something you can do alone if you're smart, or if you're working with someone else.. But it did go far."
'Nishinoya, Ayesha... Has something in common with All Might..' There was something about her Quirk that would remind Ren about the latter. Their homeroom teacher did enjoy the enthusiasm and the determination behind her voice before she threw the ball. It went far, really far.
'How much of it did she use?' Ren wanted to see how far she could go with her Quirk, but only time would tell, and he'd be there during each step, if he could, that is.
The prankster, Canabela, Carlos was up next. Ren watched him carefully, wondering how he would throw the ball. "Others are waiting Carlos. This is not a circus." Spinning around before throwing the ball. It was weird, alright, but thus far, he hadn't learn the true meaning of their Academy.
A sigh escaped his lips, watching him leave. "Alright, Kamimasu, Ryoku, you're up."
Another student with an odd Quirk, but he had seen similar in the past, but this was quite different. His body was manipulated, or especially his throwing arm. Sending it flying away a good distance, Ren was again, impressed. His quirk would probably be used to hide in tight spaces, or to help get some information from afar. Not bad.
The last one up was the student who arrived late. Katsumi, Himura. He could teleport from A to B. He used that exact strategy to throw his ball as far as he could.Teleporting twice to increase his distance from the surface, he threw the ball while up in the air. Ren looked at the line they were not supposed to pass, and so far, he was right behind it. Once he returned to the surface. Ren spoke up. "Well. If you were curious.. You were behind the line.. Now go and run a few laps over there."
His students were done throwing the ball, but they would get back to this test in the near future. To see how much they've developed as heroes. Walking over to the track field, some of his students were exhausted, while others were on their way there. "You can all stop now... I mean, you don't really believe I'd be letting you run thirty laps? Altough I want to."
"Anyhow, next up is grip strength. Once were done there, we'll be returning to the locker rooms. You can take a shower and get freshened up before we return to class. Don't forget that you will be taking normal classes like other students in a normal Academy as well. Do not expect that you'll only learn how to control your Quirk and to become a hero who can protect the people out there."
Once his students listened and did the grip strength test, they returned to class sometime later.
A week later.
The students had been given appropriate information. Today was a big day, and they were told that it would all be explained by the teacher who would be observing and be there during the test. His name was Nishio, Yoshihito. They would be meeting up with him at Ground Beta. They were also told by their homeroom teacher to use their hero outfits, but only if they needed or used one.
It was time for Battle Trial. Now this test would help the Academy to see how well they would fare against villains, and vice versa. Though the one overseeing the test would be Nishio, Yoshihito. Ren would also be there, but only to observe his students.
Ground Beta is a training course that emulates a standard urban area, with streets and buildings. Several of its buildings also contain monitoring rooms in their basements, where indoor exercises can be observed.
This test would be indoors as well.
