My Hero Academia IC

UA Field Stadium, First Years Main Event

A few days had passed since the vacation with the Kids being allowed to meet one another and a few teachers having been moved in, either temporarily or permanently. Curiously and of note to a few, was the Aquarium AI, or at least a young woman that looked much like her, never was seen to eat and drink and in fact called herself by the same name.. Yes it was her, she was now a general studies teacher here for the time being as a part time worker..though oddly her body never left the school.. The Grudge was another notable addition and the school was a beehive of activity.. Over the next couple days students would be moved around, be tasked with making flyers and getting to know one another with the new smaller classes in general a few skills might be picked up from training but overall it was the day of the School Festival, as the day went on and family and friends of the students watched the general events, it was then the final series would start. Firstly as customary the Year ones would have their Tournament, followed up with the Two's and three's.

Out in the stands were hundreds of people that had a connection to the school, it's students or the hero association, maybe more like the low thousands.. Either way the cheering crowds were amped with energy and attention, people could say the Sports Festival was why they were here, but it was always this little bit of blood sport… Or bloodless sport. It was then that a stadium light would focus on a Podium overlooking the classic white battle stages..

First up was Gregori, the new boss, loosening his neck tie the aging yet rugged man gets a few cheers as he smiles thinly, waving to the crowds, as he takes his seat, grabbing a Microphone. "Family and Friends! Comrades and students! Hello! It is I! Siberian Thunder! Let me hear your Roar!" Pausing for a wild round of applause he nods his head, tilting it to the side as he waves his left hand side to side. "Not bad, not bad but we will teach you to do much better, yes? Next on the Field as Referee I present you the hero Surge Alloy and somewhere out and about aiding him, Dullahan's Flame!! And up here with me to provide after fight Commentary is a man who can introduce himself..."

It was then Eisuke stepped forward, waving to the crowds of people. Before he could begin his introduction, he was met with the thunderous roar of women (and some men) screaming their hearts out at the sight of him. He couldn't help but smile bright and blush a bit, despite this not being the first time he had received a welcoming like this.

"Hello everyone and welcome to this year's Sports Festival! Electros here, ready to witness the power and technique of the next generation of Heroes! Are you ready too?"

At his question, he was met with another female roar with what possibly sounded like an "I love you Electros" coming from the crowd.

"Now that this is out of the way I'll be announcing the first rounds and a special feature. With the aid of a few Quirk users from the landscaping and art sector and computer CGI, the old arena is Gone. It was of little use outside of showcasing brute strength in a battle format that is rarely if ever seen in a heroes work." As mummers start to rise up among the crowd he continues.

"At Random a field with chosen characteristics will be chosen and loaded to form. It is here on these fields chosen randomly and from real world locations that true skill and talent can be shown! Not to mention it will have real Scenery! Now if you all please!"

It was then that the surprise was revealed as a small army of quirk users was assembles, a girl who mostly were blue and hand blue hair remains fixed in front of a computer as 100's of images flash across the screen, in all 10 were selected, 8 right off the bat. Below them were names..

Masaru vs Ichirou!

Below their names was the image of a desert floor a small oasis and palm tree cluster the only bit of solace, a harsh and bleak environment with little to no cover only as big as the traditional ring.

1576360883750.png

Adealaide vs Ayame

For these two a warehouse seemed to be what the image would show, just a bit seedy looking. All in all it seemed like a small warehouse that could be found anywhere across japan, the dark and industrial look casting an air of bleakness. Inside boxes and other items were scattered about.

1576361632557.png

Aurora vs Killian

Next up was a Japanese styled village, or a small corner of one at least, seemingly a rice field that was tiered into the hills behind it. All around were objects from tractros to cars and small sheds and even a house. Overall the arena had little room to fight on the outside so much as in some of the small Japanese sheds and houses, apart from the rice paddy fields.

1576361123900.png

(most of that is not accessible of course more of a general idea)

Octavia vs Amaris

This battle was so far an odd one, a pristine view, a temple at the top of a mountain, or a shrine rather with its principal buildings. Of note were massive stone and one pillars with prayer banners attached, all around it were stone walkways with water that was at best knee deep beneath the structure, following it one would come to a large lake that stretched far beyond, a holy site of a sleeping God. However not all of the location would be reachable and in general the place did not offer much in the way of cover as a blinding light shone from above, a representation of the sun.

1576361440108.png

Cupie vs Heisuki

Now it was back to Urban, though more clean and pristine, a very windy day at a construction site. All around were steel beams connected into latticework, concrete flooring and a crane with a steel beam hoisted in it's cable, bridging the gap between to smaller buildings with four floors between them. It seemed to be any normal construction site with the crew called away on county of high wind. It offered much in the way of cover and obstacles.

1576363204488.png

Kanna vs Jet

Rolling on these two would also get a tranquil scene a koi pond was at the front of a temple, with a couple stone lanterns and a small wooden bridge and it's paved stone walkways. It seemed to be a normal temple one would find across Japan. Without variation in its terrain and little in the way of clutter, there wasn't much of note here other than it being peaceful and clean. The temple and its supporting structures would offer something in the way of obstacles but in a normal scenario was not overly special.

1576362044870.png

Yosuke vs Charlotte

These two would find a rolling plain before them with a couple of trees and a few rocks, it looked like any mostly cleared plot of land. Aside from the windstorm bearing down upon it, not much of note was here. If one looked up an image of a grassland this was likely what would show. A battle here would be largely on an even footing with a few items to be used as cover or for attack.

1576362338070.png

Next up however there seemed to be a glitch in the system with two TBD's listed and one that had the name of;

Kazuo vs TBA

For his part the battle screen did not list the 2nd party. Was it an error or a glitch, a late transfer? It was hard to say. To it the headmaster speaks up;

"Ladies and Gentlemen given a sudden transfer the planned fighter for this event is racing against the clock, should they not arrive in time Kazuo shall win by default."

For their fight, it was very ominous, a wasteland.. To be more spot on scorched earth, it was as if a plainland from a disaster or a war, just ash and the last smoldering embers of fire, a hush of dead earth that had a light trail of smoke and hot ash. There was no cover, there was no elevation, minus the ruins and remains of a few buildings or cars it was a scared warzone devoid of any life aside the licking flames and remnants of what once was.

1576362715278.png

Moving on two more levels were shown.

"We have a possible returning student and another transfery, if they arrive on time two contestants from 1B will fight in this block allowing their own later in the day to even out."

First up was a frozen strip of land, snow falling upon it, snow already upon it. Little was here minus trees and bushes covered in the endless white. A winter wonderland, every so often a bank of snow would be built up and fir trees scattered about right at home with the scene.
And finally there was a ship at sea, a ferry of some sort, being tossed about in turbulent waves, the cars docked within sliding too and fro, the ship bobbing ever so slightly as it was churned and turned, waves splashing over it and draining water back into the sea.. That one had to mostly be CGI…

1576363092429.png

1576362813422.png

With that out of the way ten stages are set up a mix of quirk abilities, cgi and a few set pieces are quickly brought in one by one taking the place of the normal white field, a "shell" brought up around each as up in the arena four large screens folded down out of the roof, showcasing nothing but black static, as handheld devices came online beneath the seats, a simple TV system that with a press of a button would show a close up of the action down below from a Camera. As to where those were? Soon enough the Heads of Dullahan's Flame would show up with helmet mounted cameras, though of low picture quality it was still far better than being in the stands far away, eyes straining to watch. It would also allow her to help Allo with the judging, she could be anywhere that he could not after all.

"Students! Introduce yourself by name or hero title should you have it! Likely you do not but fear not! Began your fights upon entry and introduction! Stop fighting once told! Normal Rules of the school and sparrs apply! Show them what you've learned!"

Charlotte v. Yosuke

As she heard the announcers call her name and a mostly unknown one, Charlotte made her way out onto the field that was now in the shape of a rather beautiful plain. The girl gazed with wonderment at how real it looked. However, much as she would like to be amazed at the other class' work, this was a duel, and across the field was her opponent. Yosuke Yubiki. Furthermore, the students were bestowed the duty of introducing themselves, either with a prospective hero name or otherwise.

"Ah~ I am Chevalier, at least for now. Perhaps not all too creative, but I think it has a good ring to it~!" Introducing herself, Charlotte raised her arms out and spun slightly before performing a bow to the crowd. If they were going to make it a spectacle, she might as well embrace it.

And with that out of the way, she could turn her attention to her duelist.

Yosuke's nerves were getting to him a little. He had just been moved to the hero course, as had a lot of other students. But he only moved because the class was dissolved. It had nothing to do with his own strength and ability. This was his first chance to stand out- to show that he was going to become a hero no matter what. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. When he opened them, he was no longer looking at the old arena, and instead found himself standing in an open plain with a small creek with a bridge built over it. He was taken by surprise, and took another deep breath. Before introducing himself

"I'm Yosuke, but soon everyone will know me as Gold-Finger." He raised his hand into the air pointing towards the sky before he brought his finger back down pointing at his opponent. "I'm ready to get to the point."

Tilting her head, Charlotte stared at her opponent as if running tests in her head. He was one of the new kids to the class. It was somewhat unfortunate that she was facing someone she had very little information on, and due to the nature of the map, there wasn't much room for preplanning. She would have to improvise. On top of that, there wasn't much debris so Charlotte couldn't fall back on her plan of throw everything nearby at the problem. She'd have to be smart about this.

"Yosuke-kun, right? Good luck!" Charlotte didn't have much time to work. She'd have to examine his fighting capacity as well as his mental capacity at once. "I'll try to be gentle!"

Yosuke smiled at her playful goading and took up a fighting stance, pulling one arm behind and raising his front hand forward, both of course with index fingers extended. "Don't try too hard. I'm trying to prove a point… Didn't mean the pun that time."

As she said that and the announcers gave the word, one of the nearby trees began to creak and groan. The girl adopted a perhaps too innocent grin as her hands clasped behind her back and her eyes flashed gently. The tree rocked and uprooted before floating a few moments, then accelerating as it flew. For her positioning, she remained still, testing the bridge in front of her before committing a step, so to speak.

Yosuke needed to get close. His quirk is best utilized hand to hand, so he was ready to charge right in. The signal was given and he was ready to rush forward, but as soon as he saw the tree uproot he did his best to change his trajectory, managing to just barely duck out of the way of the trunk as it hurtled over him and slammed to the ground, rolling down the hills of the plain.

Yosuke took a moment to assess her abilities with what he had to go on so far. Telekinesis was her quirk quite evidently. The plains seemed to give him an advantage then, so long as her quirk was limited to objects and not people. Still, he'd need to be extra careful of all those trees. Even if they were incredibly telegraphed one hit would hurt like hell. When she used her quirk, her arms were behind her back, so her quirk didn't seem to use her hands. Disabling her arms wouldn't stop her from using it, better to go for damage then.

Yosuke climbed back to his feet. "In that case, all I have to do is get close and take you down quickly." He ran toward her at full speed, lunging for her a nerve cluster in shoulder with his outstretched finger like a fencer on the attack.

Charlotte held a bemused expression on her face as the boy ducked under the tree. It was a sudden, unnatural burst of dexterity, however. Not to speak poorly on the boy's physique, but the evasion seemed far to spontaneous. Pair that with his puns and name, was his quirk something involving his fingers?

As the boy began speeding at her, making his plans clear, Charlotte gained a cheeky expression and covered her mouth with her hand.

"My, my, Yosuke-kun. I didn't know you were like that. We hardly know each other," Charlotte chimed in, though perhaps she was hoping too much for someone as easily flustered as Masaru.

Still, with his next attack, he made the source of his quirk incredibly apparent. Striking with his finger like a saber, there wasn't much Charlotte could do in hand to hand combat, and she assumed if this boy's quirk relied on getting close he certainly suited it more than she did. However, she'd see if he could be just as elusive as she was.

With a hop, Charlotte's feet left the ground and strangely didn't return, simply floating in the air just out of reach. As she did so, a familiar creaking of wood and violent brushing of branches and leaves sounded as the tree from before began to make its return and fly at them once more.

Suddenly the plains shifted from a boon to a curse as his opponent levitated herself into the air. Without anything to reach her, this was going to be difficult. He addressed her psychological attack from earlier. "Sorry, you're about 16 years too late for that one. I have heard every fingering joke in the book by now." He smirked and clapped back with, "I've also learned every trick in the book."

Then he heard the creaking of wood again. He quickly looked for trees that were uprooting neglecting to remember the one from before until it slammed into, knocking the wind out of his lungs from the sheer force of the impact. The bark scraped against his arm and cheek, drawing blood. He tumbled to the ground, this time not on his own terms. He raised himself back up. He needed to reach her somehow. None on the trees were close enough to jump from. Unless he could get a tailwind strong enough…

He wiped the blood of his cheek, and pointed it upward, using it as a substitute for his own saliva. Winds were coming from the west. And boy were they strong. Thanks to his sensitive fingers, he could tell they were anywhere between 60 - 80 kph (~40-50 mph). Unfortunately there weren't any trees to that side. Yosuke needed something just to give him the height. He took up a defensive stance and kept his eyes on the trees around him, slowly moving to position the winds behind him. "You won't catch me by surprise again!" He shouted, hoping she'd attack him head on now that he wasn't able to reach her.

"I didn't even mention anything about fingering. That's your mind in the gutter," Charlotte retorted with a chuckle shortly before he was struck.

Watching as he stood up, Charlotte tilted her head slightly again. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't planning to try hitting him from a blindspot, but she didn't expect a direct hit with that attack. Still, he took it like a champ and was back up with a supposed plan in mind, though she couldn't tell what as of yet. On top of that, he took her remarks rather well, meaning he wasn't the type of opponent to let someone get in his head, though it seemed he was subject to being distracted or overwhelmed.

Humming to herself in thought, he seemed to be behaving defensively now, goading her to attack. That was an odd choice in Charlotte's mind, given what he had seen she could do. However, he didn't seem all that dense, so he had to be planning something. The question was to give him what he wanted or not. Then again, it wasn't as if she had much of a choice. She could hold him in the air, maybe, but that was about all else.

Eyeing him, Charlotte's expression strained slightly, losing the smile she had, two nearby rocks of medium size lifted from the dirt they were implanted in and hovered near her before being sent at him, one curving slightly to the left while the other delayed a moment, curving to the right a bit. Whatever was in his head, she hoped what he said earlier was true. This "surprise" would hurt otherwise.

She seemed to have shifted her demeanor almost entirely. She no longer held her same playful, mischievous grin. She seemed like she was really beginning to be irritated, actually. Yosuke kept himself on high alert. He needed any stepping stone he could get. He was suddenly surprised to say the least, not by trees but by...

Rocks?! That's somehow… better? She had raised them up, and held them for a moment before alternating throws. Not quite what he was expecting but actual stones are much better stepping stones than a whole ass tree. He needed complete focus. If he was going to do this correctly he needed to do something drastic. It's not exactly something he was used to, but he needed the extra dexterity if this was going to work. Inside his shoes, he pointed his toes, just as he did his fingers before, and took a running leap.

First to his right where the first stone was sent flying, he landed for the moment, and immediately leapt to the left, aim for the other stone that was delayed. Then finally, just one more jump. He came hurtling toward her, aiming for the space between her neck and shoulder with one hand, and to wrap his other arm around her neck with the other. As he lunged at her he let out a warcry followed by the real meaning behind his outburst, "Craaaamp!"

So that was his game; use the projectiles at platforms. Unfortunately, neither the quick thinking nor the ballsy actions nor the warcry would cause Charlotte to slip up in this case. The reason for her strained expression was not simply from raising those small boulders, but as she hadn't truly let go of the tree from before. She kept it as a precaution, ready to act on Yosuke's next course of action, hoping the stones would be enough to worry about.

Thankfully, that seemed to be the case. As Yosuke leaped from the second platform and closed the distance in the air, the tree was pulled back. Rather than strike him with the trunk however, the brush did so, slamming her opponent into the ground and pinning him between the ground and branches.

Watching the fight, one of the Misoka cams zoom in, capturing the win of Charlotte over Yosuke, or rather the names they requested to be used.

"Ah? One of the groups finished up already?" Says Gregori eyeing the footage.

"Huh, seems like it." Eisuke added, "Not a bad fight, only wish we got to see more of what those two can do. Still, the future is looking bright for them. What do you think, Chief?" He asked Gregori.

"We'll see more in the future I hope.. For now it is as you said. Either way Charlotte clears her way into the second bracket where she will be facing Either her classmate Jet or Kanna."

Adelaide vs Ayame

Bouncing around a bit, Ayame was somewhat hyper, considering her team in the military exercise had done well and she had been practicing a new trick that she had kept from her allies and instructors up to this point, here would be a great place to test it out, to make herself into a star! Or at least a Mascot, that was fine! This was fine! Looking at all the stages she slumps from her high when she saw the snow field wasn't hers, in place she had a musty old warehouse.. Well that could work! Adelaide's quirk if she remembered correctly was blasting things with sound.. If she played carefully enough and used her new trick at the right time, then she could maybe pull a win out of this.. Then she immediately slumped again knowing who she would have to fight next..

"Uh.. Ayame is here to fight!" She says stepping onto her end of the warehouse, waving at the passing spare head of her mother.

Adelaide was a little anxious when it came to preparing for the festival, she had yet to really prove herself at U.A, it felt like every opportunity she was given she messed up, this time it was finally her big shot at proving to herself that she's worthy of attending U.A and maybe make her mother proud of her for the first time, though she had no idea why she still cared for her approval. She took another couple of steps and started to wrap her hands, ever since the villain attack her hands hurt whenever she used her quirk, having the wrapping helped absorb some of her quirk and cause less pain to herself.

"I'm, uh, ready!" She let out a deep breath, letting her anxiousness fade into the background.

Ayame wags her tail a bit side to side, the dark nature of this arena suited her very well to an extent, and she was a bit curious.. Scampering up the pile of crates, the Red Panda girl takes to the rafters as quickly as she can, picking up a can of paint that seemed to be part of the..or was it oil? Well it didn't much matter, with a shrug she stands up, throwing it down at Adelaide in an attempt to hit her, barking out a squeal she tries to gain the attention of the other before hurrying away to the backside.

Adelaide watched her field of vision from one side to the other, she was ready for her opponent to jump out at her and attack, since she knew that the girl had claws and her main use of her quirk would be up close and personal. But she had not expected a can to hit her shoulder and a barking noise to come from somewhere around her. Though she didn't have an exact location on where the noise came from, she decided to take a guess and shoot a sound wave towards some crates, hoping she would get at least a little close.

A cackle of sorts can be heard after that as Ayame drops down from the rafters..no.. there were two.. Dancing in a way as if to mock her, the second one that had fallen further away begins a silent charge as the dancer sticks it's tongue out, taunting the woman. All the while nuts and bolts rolled across the top of the recently hit boxes from up and above. So far the Ayame's were doing who knows what as a Misoka head bobs around with some interest, recording the whole region. One Panda was mocking her and the other was charging in to slash with it's claws.

It had seemed Adelaide wasn't completely realizing of the girls quirk. So when she saw two Ayame's in her sight, though a face of confusion could be read on her, she quickly reassured herself when one of the Ayame's came charging at her, so without another second delay she shot another soundwave attack at the charging panda, then used her other hand to aim a wave at the other Panda.

It was with that movement that both Panda's fell with the two girls writhing about on the ground for a bit as the Misoka head pans up.. Suddenly the clattering on the crates made a horrible amount of sense as Ayame, the real one it seemed as the other two vanished into thin air leaps from the stack of boxes, claws outstretched as she goes for the girl before her. Making her alarmed barking sound it was now that the real one seemed intent to strike, provided this wasn't more subterfuge. Though it was as far as things went a good setup for a final attack.

Her eyes watched as the two clones suddenly faded into thin air, while she didn't know they were just made from nothing, it made sense now that she thought of it. Suddenly her attention was back on the real Ayame when she saw something coming right at her, her first instinct was to jump away from the attack, though a couple scratches was landed on her thigh and calf. The girl jumped back into a readied position, she held her wrist as she forced another soundwave at the panda girl.

With the next soundwave the cackle sounds while Misoka diverts some of her attention towards her daughter's defeat.. It was then she noticed something else.. On the Rafters.. But..

Laughing a little to herself, she wasn't sure if it would work, she practiced often..but had finally learned to make two more of her shadow clones.. And to make it so others could see them in the same location.. The later bit had proven most difficult. Either way it was then that the Beam was directed to the rafters, causing part of it to collapse, sending debris and with a faint puff of smoke, the girl herself..or rather the clone. When the rolling up top finally came to reveal what had to be the real Ayame. With her opponent fixated on the rafters above and behind, Ayame was free to pursue her real attack, in this case, jumping down with a huge chunk of sheet metal that she kicked off of to gain the other's attention before jumping off to do a drop kick into the face of the other, out the side doors for a "ring out'. While proud of her accomplishment she knew it had a lot to do with the stage and seeing who she was up against next, well her heart sank.

Watching it seemed yet another match was over as the Headmaster looks on. "Impressive.. She was able to make four duplicates that she kept insight of from atop those crates. Had that sound wave been a little lower, Ayame would have been blasted away. Of course while we could see the real one atop the cargo canisters her opponent was unaware till it was too late. It said in her sheet she could only summon two and they maintained a presence out of the targets eye.. But this was visible to all.. I am very curious where this all might go either way she moves on to face Ichirou for Round two!"

"Yeah, I wasn't expecting that either, honestly." Eisuke said, taking mental note of this. Did Ayame's quirk develop during her time at UA? Or was there something more to it that they just weren't seeing. "I wonder what stopped Adelaide from searching for the real one, but oh well. Things are looking pretty tense for Ayame the next battle. I wonder how she's going to pull through!"

Kazuo vs TBA

Kazuo looked round; it was almost the worst place he could have imagined for his Quirk. Was this some kind of strange setup to challenge him specifically? At least it looked like he had a little time before his opponent appeared. He wasn't going to waste it. He always kept several standard creatures ready to go; he released four cranes, directing them to fly in different directions and keep an eye out for anyone else. Then he walked over to a ruined building that looked like it wasn't still burning - he needed to get folding.

ICHIROU VS MASARU

Stepping forward into the mock arena as the fighters were called out, Masaru Takeshi brought a hand to shield his gaze from the bright star beam down onto the field. He hadn't settled on a hero name, so, for now, his given would suffice. Either way, he wasn't sure how they did it, if it was the sun they new or an artificial light source of some kind, but they really did make a damn good desert. Glancing across the field, he stared his opponent, Ichirou, down for a few moments before glancing at the surrounding environment.

It was rather bland, with only a small oasis and cluster of palms trees around it. It was an arena likely as close to the old academy sports festival field as he could have expected. There weren't really debris or anything else to get in the way; it was a battle of power at this point.

Casting a gaze on Ichirou again, he couldn't have hoped for a better opponent. First, Ichirou was generally a strong contender in a fight, and second his quirk perfectly contradicted his. Normally that would be a bad thing, but in this case the heat being thrown on him would hopefully help keep his body temperature up and himself in the fight for longer.

As the announcers called for the fight to begin, Masaru wasted little time in beginning his attack. Ichirou was strong all-around, but he was far more dangerous if left to press the offensive. Holding a palm upward, Masaru's trademark blades began to form, one above said palm and three above his person while his other hand lay dormant at his side. The blades took aim and flew towards Ichirou in a rather straightforward fashion. The blade above his hand remained in place as if for back-up and frost began to spread from his feet to the ground around him.

Meanwhile, in his dormant, clenched hand, icy crystals began to take form. With everything going on, between the projectiles, sword, hand gesture and frost at his feet, Masaru hoped his opponent would not predict anything from his left hand.

When called, Ichirou stepped into the arena following Masaru. The arena chosen for them really left a lot to be desired in terms of projectiles and cover, which was a problem mainly for him. Given their fight against Surge Alloy on the first day, Ichirou had a good idea as to just how powerful his classmate was. He'd been wanting to fight him too, in truth. He had trained against his uncle, his father (when he had time), and his mother at one point but he had never had the opportunity to fight someone on the opposite spectrum regarding quirks.

He was excited!

"My name is Ichirou Mizushima, and I'll give it all I've got." The last part he was obviously directed towards his opponent.

"Good luck! It's an honor to get to fight you!" He called over with a smile, giving Masaru a show of sportsmanship before the announcers started the match.

Ichirou got into stance, activating his quirk. He groaned in pain as the flickering blue fire erupted from his skin, the all too familiar burning tingling sensation coursing the entirety of his body. Despite the pain, he would not lose his focus.

Using his speed, he quickly dodged the blades and stopped near the palm trees. Ichirou grabbed and ripped it straight out of the ground, his hands shooting fire up the bark to quickly set the projectile aflame.

With a yell, he threw the tree directly at Masaru then threw two fireballs, one to the left and one to the right.

He warped a bit away from Masaru to the left, shooting streams of blue flames at him with the hopes that the tree would keep him distracted long enough...

As expected, even with the projectiles thrown Ichirou still put himself on the offensive once again. Masaru clicked his tongue as Ichirou sent a projectile of his own his way, or three technically.

Stomping his foot, a familiar wall erupted from the sand a few meters in front of him, ready to intercept the tree. It would create some debris, but the tree was the least of Masaru's concern. The flames were more important considering Ichirou's warping ability. He had a plan to deal with that pesky part of his ability though.

With the tree intercepted and ignorant of which spark Ichirou would appear at, the blade above his palm split into two, aligning at each flame and flying at it. However, such a small part of the blade was not intended to strike Ichirou, but rather collide with each flame and create a smokescreen of steam, then it wouldn't matter if he could predict which flame Ichirou would appear at.

To follow up, Masaru would crouch down and the ice below him would crack as a pillar erected from the ground and launched him towards the left flame, materializing an uncharacteristic maul in his right hand, using the force of the launch to spin and hopefully bring the hammer down on an unsuspecting Ichirou.

Ichirou could see that the wall, or at least what was left of it, had risen and blocked the projectile. His fire stopped seeing that nothing was getting burned save for air, and what was left was a pillar and Masaru nowhere in sight.

'If the opponent isn't to your left, your right, and you don't feel like something's coming from behind, then anticipate the air or the ground.' His mother's advice crossed his mind.

He looked up, and sure enough his opponent was coming at him with a hammer from the sky.

Ichirou reeled back his fist, a look of determination mixing with his pained expression.

He screamed as his flaming fist launched forward, colliding with Masaru's hammer that sent shockwaves up his arm. Regardless, he pushed on.

Ichirou launched his other fist forward, aiming to punch Masaru in the stomach.

As Ichirou struck the hammer, the weapon shattered. Masaru spun a few times more and grounded himself on the opposing side of Ichirou. However, before he could do anything more, his opponent had already aimed a punch at his stomach.

Masaru braced himself with his free right arm, taking the hit directly and sliding back from the impact with a grunt. Once again, he had to put himself back on the attack, and so he let loose the shards in his left hand, at the sand between him, peppering the ground and shooting up sand at Ichirou's person.

Hoping that would stall him for a moment, Masaru attempted to erect walls around Ichirou, similarly to what he attempted to do fighting Surge Alloy, and then erected a pillar next to him, preparing to level it at the box of ice and send it flying.

"Ngh!"

The sand Masaru had shot up at him managed to get into Ichirou's face and eyes, forcing him to react quickly or risk taking damage from whatever his opponent's next attack was.

He forced his irritated eyes open as much as they could, throwing a fireball towards the sky then warped to wherever it stopped. Ichirou took the second of time he had to try and wipe his eyes, but to his confusion he collided with something else.

Masaru.

Ichirou landed on top of his opponent, though not in a way one would anticipate a collision. He was looking at sand, his knees on the ground, but he was sitting on something.

Confused, he looked lower, and to his horror, saw white hair on the sand between his legs.

It was at that moment that he realized what had happened, and he screamed inwardly.

Ichirou quickly scrambled to get off of Masaru, hurrying to his feet and putting a good distance between them. For a moment he had forgotten about his quirk's pain. Rather, he was more pained by the embarrassing moment that not only he witnessed, but many others.

"You are my fucking curse I swear! Why the hell is it always you?!" Ichirou yelled out, his cheeks red and his demeanor obviously flustered.

Things hadn't gone according to plan. Rather, things had gone farthest from any plan Masaru possibly considered and once again, he had gotten far too close to Ichirou. Though rather than the embarrassment or the act, it was Ichirou's words that set him off.

"Always me?! It's always you, you dumbass! Who the hell is always initiating shit like this!?" Masaru retorted, red faced and an irritated eye twitch visible on his expression.

Shouting that back, the debris from the walls and the pillar that had collided with them raised in the air behind him. Some were smaller, though there were quite a few larger chunks as well. Regardless, all of it was flung at Ichirou in a volley fashion, peppering his current location

It was hard to keep calm and collected after that, but Ichirou pressed on, or at least tried to. He made a dash towards the burnt tree that had been flung at Masaru prior, grabbing it again and using it to try and shield as much of masaru's attack as he could. He was still getting hit in places that the tree couldn't block, making Ichirou stifle more pained noises.

He kept the tree in front of him as he rushed at Masaru, turning it in his hands like a bat before reeling it back, readying it to take a swing at his opponent.

Stifling his emotions, Masaru saw his projectiles do little and less to Ichirou. He knew that if he wanted to end this, he would need to throw all he had at him. That, or incapacitate him quickly when taken off guard, but with the desert around them, there wasn't much room for subtlety.

Breathing out icy breath despite the heat, The sand around them began to shift as pillars and blocks of ice rose from the sand all at once, similar to his spectacle at the mall. This would be an all or nothing attack, as he knew if Ichirou really got his hands on him he couldn't compete. As the various large projectiles aligned at them from various heights and angles, they quickly set off for their mark.

One by one, projectiles were coming close with a few hitting, making the pain slowly more and more unbearable. If this continued, he would be done for; so he would give this swing all he had. Ichirou's fires grew large, the silver haired teen screaming as the tree crashed through projectiles heading towards him, anything Masaru put up as defense, and soon enough colliding with Masaru's body.

Ichirou dropped the tree and ran forward, quickly catching up with Masaru's flying body. He caught the other's leg with both hands, skidding his feet to stop using the sand, then swung Masaru's body over his head and slammed him onto the ground.

The force of the collision caused sand to jump into the air, a light layer covering the top half of Masaru's body to the point that nothing but his legs could be seen.

Ichirou stood by, waiting for his opponent to do something only to realize Masaru wasn't getting up. He reached down and pulled the unconscious body from the sand, taking a second to make sure there was a pulse before Ichirou let out a sigh of relief.

He shut off his quirk, taking a moment to rest his nerves before the next battle would commence.

Eisuke had an incredibly difficult time trying to hold back his laughter. Seeing his nephew accidentally ride the face of his classmate had surely ruined any friendship points those two might have had. It was a shame he hadn't managed to get a picture and send it to Chitose, though he had a feeling she'd see it at some point.

"Looks like Ichirou Mizushima takes the first round. Very nice performances from those two, I gotta say! Masaru with the offense and defense capabilities, Ichirou coming at him like a train nonstop! Gotta say it's reminding me of the old days."

"That was a rather impressive display of control and power from both. It is a shame they both cannot advance, would have been a sight to see as a final battle, Allas though he is defeated in Round One that is not a reflection of Masaru's capability in the slightest." says Gregori.

"Still, gives an idea of what he can do. Kinda sad we can't see more."

Kanna vs Jet

With the callouts, Kanna was somewhat impressed by how quick the quirk users and the computer systems could make all of this, at first she had worried she would be fighting on an open stage. Not that she would be beaten mind you, just that it would be boring with little in the way of fun, and she was already in a foul mood with what Jojo pulled.. Well no, that whole mission went poorly..

It would be nice to finally be able to beat her frustrations out of someone else.. Well, that wasn't the correct way to think of it… Calming herself, she speaks loudly for the machine or people or whatever to hear. "Kanna Tanaka, heading out!"

Stepping up and unto the field she wastes very little time getting to her stage, smiling thinly this all felt very much like home. Wondering where the broom was, her side of entry took her closest to the shrine proper, where the Miko would stand hand pressed to hand as if in prayer.

On the opposite side near the bridge that lead to the shrine was where Jettitare entered. At first he was a bit surprised with the lineup. Yet this fight gave a huge opportunity for Jet to try to work out some ideas he had been crafting ever since his talk with Misoka-Senpai. With a soft almost excited breath the dragon boy crossed onto the bridge announcing himself.

"Jettitare Monsera… ready," he politely spoke as he crossed the bridge nearing his opponent. Before anything could start though he placed his fists together, and bowed politely to his classmate. Yet when he stood back straight his eyes were not calm anymore they were ravenous like a dragons seeing a pile of gold. Kanna was of the most deadly prey in his class, and thus the most worthwhile opponent to go all out with. "Win, or lose it will be an honor to fight with you," he spoke up his hands finally separating as he waited for Allo- senpai to declare the match start.

"Ah? I see, yes, yes. It very well may be." Kanna says, returning the bow. Then with a shrug of her shoulders as her neck cracks slightly she boosts off upon one leg, splitting the shallow pond briefly as her body cuts across the distance a fist risen and aimed in a sudden swing.

Jet knew Kanna would go for the first strike, and in doing so she had surrendered the first hit to be made by him. With three steps forward as she mad rushed Jet immediately slide between her legs as his scales, and horn burst to life releasing a heavy mist of his plasmic energy to propel him faster in he slide as he briefly touched her right leg. As he clawed right to redirect himself to an aggressive turn as he pulled his left hand forward revealing a materialized pole that he had been growing from his arm to Kanna's leg as he caused the miko to go in for a face plant to the earth as he dispersed his connection immediately to avoid her pulling back. Twisting full to his right the mist continued to produce out as he flanked the other side of the bridge keeping eyes on the maiden.

Glaring at that, it didn't seem his blow was enough to cause her to do more than to stare up with narrowed eyes to her smile, as if to be looking at trash. "To approach the Temple without washing one's hands is sacrilege.." With that the Miko considers her options, standing to her feet, she runs across the bridge while baring in with another punch to drive him back across or into the water, if not to hit him straight off the bat once more. "I'll have to ask you to go back."

Jet watched her come racing again towards him though it hasn't done much damage was the trip had gotten her full attention as she glared at him with narrowed eyes. While definitely the most dangerous like in angry beast's Kanna's body language was readable as easy as a boar's charge forward. So as she neared rather then retreat, and deploy a tactic Jet instead puffed out another wave of his mist ducking down before countering with a x scissor attack with his claws upon Kanna's Stomach, and legs. With both cloth ripped, and sparks flying Jets tail flexed muscle before slamming to the ground combined with Jets leg muscles pushing up he grasped onto Kanna's attacking arm hoisting her up with him as he spun her straight into the water. With a splash resounding, and Jet landing back near the shrine he motioned to her responding.

"From what I understand your suppose to wash each other right," it was hard to say if that was just Jet legitly asking or him attempting a very weird comeback.

Opening her eyes from the water, Kanna stands to her feet, she needed to take this more serious but she still feared going too far, still frustrated from her defeat. "Fine.. Let's Play." With that she stands to her feet once more, rushing off she strains briefly under the bridge as hints of her aura leak out. Picking up the bridge and ripping it from it's supports, Kanna throws it dead at Jet, before rushing in behind it.

"Stimulating," Jet briefly smirked as he puffed out more plasmic energy yet this time the puff from his left hand stayed put, and started to collect on his claws glowing unnaturally as he burst forward. In this particular situation the goal would be to dodge the obvious distraction attack, but this would speed up the process of what he was trying to accomplish. With an insane charge he jumped at the bridge latching on as he started to wildly release more plasmic energy as it funneled wildly from his pin point on the bridge.

Kanna continued through her advance, using her one free hand to grab a stone lantern that she throws right through the remains of the still falling bridge in an attempt to hit him even now.

The aimed through would prove true as it met its target shattering the bridge as Jet was shot put through backwards with his hands being the only thing protecting him as he crashed near the shrine. Pushing what was left of the stone lantern he eyed his opponent shouting.

"Do you believe me not worth to fight Kanna. I know you can do way better I shouldn't be able to read you this well. Would you fight Aurora, or Ichirou like this," the dragon boy shrugged off the dirt, and bridge dust from his shoulders walking towards his opponent his lustrous look had turned to one of annoyance. Oddly he wasn't annoyed by her in particular oddly enough it was more so he felt she thought her best was too much for him. He was pissed that someone he respected was not showing him the same warriors respect she was holding back, and because of it, so was he...

"Then I shall drag the fighter in you out Miko no more playing around," Jet hissed if the person he considered a friend saw him this weak then he would break that mold, and her if he had to. Jets left hand started to glow more chaotically, and seemed to oddly enough blurr in everyone's vision. Upon the blur a darker ominous purple grew his hand into a larger menacing set of demonic claws that looked like once they hooked in could cleave whatever was in its way.

"This field is now mine." Jet harshly hissed as the field vibrant colors fades, and were replaced with a purple glow from the mist he had been releasing all around the field during their small bouts. The eerie aesthetic had turned the field from a homely shrine to haunted grounds. With a monstrous glare jet burst forward to the mikos left field of vision . Yet before he would close in she would get gut punched from the ground as a pillar arose violently flinging her violent as another shot forward from her left side hitting her into a spin as Jet appeared up coming down with his volatile claw aiming to strike Kanna's chest. If she would not fight he would immobilizer her, and end it. With his anger building the claw started to vibrate and glow as he swiped forward.

Taking the impact, it had cut deep and tore her clothes in a couple places. Laying there her eyes were starting to close, with a Misoka head peering from above as the whirlwind begin to chip away at portions of the grounds her eyes seem to glaze over. 'Get up.' 'Wha..no.' 'GET UP!'

It was then Kanna would be within her own head, looking at what seemed to be herself, but different, twisted and cruel, a lot like her mother from long ago.

'You always fail as you are weak.. Too weak to be strong.'

'When I am strong too strong I break things..myself, others..'

'And? Sentimentalities. All of this trifle on protecting the weak.. It is in your blood to fight, to battle. Rise up and do not rest till it is done!'

With that the other Kanna latches on to her inside of this mental world as her eyes shoot wide open. Suddenly in a flash she was on her feet and right up in Jet's face as she unleashes an uppercut, but continues to follow three with her assault, unleashing multiple kicks and further swings of her fists as if being sure of a hit, her eyes blackened from the glare she held and her always present dark aura leaking even more.

"HAHAHAHA! YOU WANTED A FIGHT! THEN THAT'S WHAT YOU GET! RIP AND TEAR!"

"Finally," Jet hissed with his own madness fueled smile a first for anyone who ever knew Jet for the first time in his whole life he was smiling in chaotic glee. As a hail storm of pummeling punches, and kicks came for his life. He weaved through some, others met their marks, and the rest were meet in counters made with his own slew of claw strikes from hand & foot, his vibranium cutter claw, and even his tail. It was impossible for the crowd to tell what was happening anymore so much so that Allo who had been watching was unsure whether, or not to interfere at this point. However with nothing stopping the fight the mauling upon both students continued until finally halted briefly as Jets tail caught kanna's last kick, and with a violent turn of his whole body Jet flung Kanna straight into the shrine smashing the whole front of the structure into a disastrous mess. As this break occurred some of Jet's field mist funneled into his other claw, and even his tail creating a harsh looking barb flange like tip as he walked after his prey luster returning to his eyes. He halted though lifting one clawed finger to motion the miko to come out, and strike as a strange wind started to muster as his mist field started to collect into rings around the house.

Doing so, Kanna was up in a flash, letting out a battle scream that turned into a mute look of rage and hatred as she closed in at lightning speed, kneeing him in the gut with considerable force, bashing him back towards the entrance 'gate' and it's massive pillars.

As the dragon boy indented into the stone pillar causing the whole thing to come down upon him a violent wind arose from the ground up as the rings started to converge around the fallen pillar as the rocks were cut through as a bloody Jet came out. Unlike Kanna, Jet did not have a healing factor.. His wounds, the cracks and chips in his scales… they were all legit. With the same finger that he had motion for Kann to attack he now used to point at her.

"Was that supposed to hurt," he hissed with blood slipping from the corner of his lip. Before any response could come the rings exploded as he opened his palm what was left of his mist now converged into a forward tunnel of plasmic energy that slammed into Kanna ravishly converging on her whole body as the funnel went upwards following the movement of Jets hands yet as he directed his whole body screamed in blood curdling pain though it didn't look of it on the outside the inside would need some heavy rest. Dropping his hand mid pain the funnel came crashing down with KIanna into what was left of the shrine destroying it and sending debris everywhere the field generator that protected the stand lit up as it deflected the debris away. The mist disappeared as Jet could no longer control the massive amount anymore, nor create anymore… Allo, and Misoka were both about to call the fight finished before Jet would get attacked again, and probably put into a critical condition. However, the dragons boys voice sounded off before they could act.

"PLEASE… let this finish… proper...this is a true fight for us, let it finish," he asked as he watched the rubble started to move… Kanna wasn't done… and neither was he… his rage however was gone he had a clear head, and he wanted to finish the fight.

"Dear souls… I am going to get an earful for this," Allo mumbled as he knew he would want the same thing. With a deep breath he stepped back, and continued to watch ready to burst in if things went top side.

"I don't think we can stop her now, least not easily...I was afraid of this." Misoka says.

"... This is a good thing to address now though. Jets learned he can't think of every fight as a hunt whatever you told him has made him evolve his mind set. And Kanna will learn to if Jet gets his feeling across to her on this fight before she breaks his bones… so let it happen, and if I have to I'll incapacitate her," Allo responded grabbing a battery grip ready to syphon it to turn on his roulette mode. Jet wanted to fight his friend, and make her understand to not hold back… however that seemed to trigger a repressed emotion for Kanna… so if Jet could do what he thought he could Kanna would regain her own senses… or this would end terribly.

"Well she's not as strong as her Mother, but a few of us might have sudden flashbacks."

With that said, the woman starts to leak her aura, reeking of blood and darkness, of primordial rage, a screaming madness that was akin to an evolutionary sense of dread and fear. Lesser beings would run and in the case of her mother, invited a slaughter upon themselves. Darkening of skin and tightening of muscle could be heard as blood flowed like wild, the Miko suddenly was.. Gone. Then in a mighty leap had closed the distance her fist heading directly towards the other. Narrowing his eyes Jettitare responded as his right Vibranium Cutter met with Kannas' fist created a pulse of seismic force as the claw shatter sending Jet backwards as the miko's fist continued forward until it was met underhanded by Jets other Vibranium cutter that shattered as well, but forced her hand upward long enough for Jet to regain footing, and remove his tails built mist into a pillar that shoved into her gut as his leg cutters transferred to his hands.The aura was overbearing so much so that it alone was draining what was left of Jets conscious state as the aura seemed to warp Kanna's appearance into a demon. Yet with whatever was left whether it was conscious, or subconscious his eyes dilated into a dragon like state as his leg push off with whatever force was left, and his claws swung into a x scissor strike as he passed Kanna with only one sentence between the hit.

"Neither of us are weak… get ahold…," his sentence never finished as his claws shatter with him falling unconscious onto the ground Allo was immediately about to pounce Kanna yet as he neared he halted… Kanna for her part had taken the pillar strike part of the way before slamming a knee into it, sending it sliding past, as she just stood there, watching.

"... I see… Kanna… you alright," Allo called out to her as he got onto the stage slowly getting between the shrine girl, and dragon boy.

"..." Staring at him for a bit, her aura swirls, all in all the damage from the two causes the arena shielding and holographic shell to spark with static, zaps of electricity blinking. And just as suddenly if not more disturbing, the sensation was gone and the aura. Standing there she could only smile, wordlessly she stands there, looking over at Jet. "Ah.."

Misoka for her part goes back to her other duties, a head remaining as her body levitates into the sky.

"Oh boy come on you. Congrats on a good fight," Allo sighed as he rubbed his head grasping her hand, and raising it up to signal her victory. At first the stands were silent both combatants had shown some rather alarming capability of scaring the hell out of others. Yet with the match over, and the insanity gone with sudden force their was a massive applause. As Allo recovered Jet a small intermission was called to replace the parts that Jet, and Kanna had destroyed, or pushed to far.

"Well.. That battle was something else." Gregori said, thankfully that Aura didn't flare far past her, but even he could feel a tinge of it as he knew what to look out for. "If trained properly I suspect we've found two of a new top ten in the near future.. Either way that stage will need it's base rebuilt, what a battle.. That one will be going into the record books and into the afternoon talk of the fans I'm sure."

"..." Eisuke was left speechless for a moment, recollecting himself after watching the battle. That aura… It made him think back to some… very unpleasant memories. Some he had pushed way back into the recesses of his mind. "...Y-Yeah, let's just move on now." He said.

CUPIE VS HEISUKE

Cupie looked over the mock arena, her pink hair flowing wildly with the air that was part of the urban environment. On her face, she had on a faceless white mask that she had purchased from a store not that far from UA's campus. Though it concealed her face, Cupie was still able to see perfectly well through it and the fabric was thin enough for her to breathe.

Across from her a good distance away was her opponent, someone who she didn't think she would ever see again, and yet here he was… It was a shame that neither of them didn't really get along that well; Makoto might have been happy to see the two become friends…

Stop it, Cupie… now wasn't the time to think about him.

On top of a construction site with winds going at what felt like 40 or 50 mph wasn't exactly her ideal battlefield, but she would live. As long as she accommodated the pesky bastard's abilities and the wind throwing her hearts off course, she could do it…

Hopefully.

"...I thought the wake would be the last time I saw you, Douchebag. But, I can't say I'm disappointed I get to fight you. You look like you know how to defend yourself at least."

At the announcer's call to introduce themselves, Cupie decided to go first.

"My Hero name is Cupie, and I'm here to show you what I've got." She pointed at Heisuke as she spoke the last part, "I've been wanting to kick your fucking ass ever since you said those things to me Douchebag, so don't you dare hold back or underestimate me. It'll make the ass whooping way more satisfying when you try."

One could almost hear the smirk in her tone of voice.

The males hands laid comfortably in his pockets, he couldn't help but think about the last couple of months, losing Makoto and getting into U.A was a whole whirlwind of emotions but whatever he was feeling was pushed behind him, he needed to win this tournament, for Makoto…

As he stepped up, he quickly figured out who was behind the mask, Cupie, a girl he had met during Makoto's wake who he could tell truly cared about him, though that wasn't going to stop him from doing what he must to win.

"It seems I made a good impression, didn't expect to see you still attending U.A, seems I underestimated you." A sly grin moved through his lips. "I'm glad you're not underestimating me either."

He was a bit surprised by Cupie's explicit nature, though it did amuse him. "Well let's get this over with, Heisuke's the name and you won't forget it by the end of this tournament." He turned his head back to cupie, smiling. "Trust me I wasn't going to holdback anyways, but you are truly naive if you think you are going to walk out of this as the victor, Cupie." He truly enjoyed how excited Cupie sounded, this might be entertaining.

Once they received the start, Cupie made a dash to the side to change the direction that the wind was hitting her. She created platforms to get to the higher ground, throwing and breaking hearts down at the floor. Using the wind, the red gas of her hearts would travel towards Heisuke.

'Need a little more. As long as he gets a whiff the game is good as won.'

Hiesuke kept his eyes on his opponent, while he didn't know her well, his first interactions with her were very headstrong and aggressive, so he believed she would start the first attack. He had lost track of her when she went to a high ground but was caught a little off guard when a couple of hearts hit the floor and some type of gas came out of it.

"You don't think I'm really going to fall for that, do you Cupie?" The male quickly ripped off a part of his shirt and tied it to his mouth, leaving his stomach free. A smile formed when he found out where she was and looked over to his right, seeing a couple of steel beams on the ground. Let's see how fast you are at dodging. Heisuke telekinetically grabbed a couple of steel beams and flung it in her direction, hoping to land a hit.

'Hmph! Wait…'

Cupie took a running start, leaping off her heart platform just in time for the steel beams to collide and break through the glass. She landed on her feet, though to avoid damaging her knees she tucked and rolled before swiftly getting back on her feet, much like a skilled parkour runner.

'That's right, you can read minds. I've got a special treat for you, Douchebag.

Aaah~ Ahh~ Heisuke! Please, more~'

Cupie focused hard on making the lewd noises in her mind, the voice sounding like Octavia's while what sounded like skin slapping skin occurred along with it.

As the noises went on in her mind, she created a larger heart in her hand and threw it at his general direction. Cupie started running to make herself a moving target, tossing more smaller hearts at and around him.

What are you,,,

Heisuke could feel himself physically cringe from Cupie's mental attack, he never thought the girl would go to such obscene tactics to target him, though he did love a challenge.

"Okay, now that's a low blow." He telepathically spoke to her.

The male decided to try and not let his thoughts linger into hers, when he saw a giant heart coming straight at him he quickly grabbed a nearby crate and smashed it into the heart, but he still wasn't ready when a couple smaller hearts came at him, a couple of them hitting him. He quickly formed another idea when he saw a cement tube on his right, Heisuke then grabbed the tube and threw it telekinetically at the girl, along with some metal rods.

'Fuck you, stay outta my thoughts mind perv.'

Cupie barely saw the cement tube coming and quickly threw herself out of the way, but ended up getting hit by some of the metal rods.

"Dammit…" She muttered under her breath, deciding she would need to get as close as she can and try to take him on hand to hand.

Cupie threw the metal rods at him as a distraction, running as fast as she could at him and summoning a large heart shield should he try to throw the rods back at her.

When she approached, she reeled back and aimed a punch at his stomach.

He was a little surprised that Cupie was able to dodge the tube, though even in this fight he was slowly realizing how much he had underestimated her. Seeing the rods coming back at him, Heisuke swiped his arm throwing the rods to his right but he hadn't expected the punch that went straight into his stomach, causing spit to fly out of his mouth.

Damn how strong is she? Thinking on his feet, Heisuke aimed a kick into the girls rib on the way down from her punch.

Her punch left her open, and Cupie took the kick like a champion. She groaned a bit in pain but grabbed Heisuke's leg, keeping his legs open. Cupie then swung her own leg, trying to give Heisuke a taste of his own kick but in a place no boy wanted to be hit.

Oh no you don't!

Heisuke's eyes darted to the girl's incoming attack, seeing as it was going to hit somewhere that no man would want to be hit at, heisuke stopped the girls kick with his mind, then tried to throw her away from him, hoping to make her hit the cement wall a couple of meters away.

"The groin is a no go Cupie, there's ground rules here."

Cupie, before she was tossed too far, summoned a large heart shield behind her. She collided with that instead, cracking the shield but otherwise she was fine.

"Fuck your ground rules. Treat every fight like it'll be your last."

She grabbed the heart shield she summoned and threw it, using the wind to accommodate the angle and throw to head straight for Heisuke. As the large heart flew, Cupie summoned and tossed more of her hearts at him, moving quickly to try and create another cloud.

He was a little surprised by Cupie's comment, his own pre advised thoughts of her was that she was just a stubborn and pissed off kid, though it did seem like she really cared about being a hero. "Well, if you really feel that way…"

Seeing the giant heart coming, heisuke grabbed the closest thing to him, which were a pile of bricks and flung them at the shield and made a jump out of the way. Though he did take a couple attacks from the hearts. While she may not be physically strong, she does make up for it with her stamina and long range attack, smart. He analyzed the girl.

"Now lets end this!" A smile formed when Heisuke saw an item that could end the battle if it did hit her, a 600 pound steam roller. Picking it up mentally, Heisuke threw the vehicle at Cupie.

Now, Cupie expected many things, and surprisingly, had quite the tolerance for many things. Metal rods? Sure. Cement? Okay.

Steam roller?

Nope. Nononononono.

Cupie was momentarily shocked that this bastard would throw a fucking steam roller at her when she clearly couldn't defend herself against that. She wasn't the gorilla priestess or fire fatso! What the fuck!

Cupie was forced to toss herself the only way she could, tucking and rolling back onto her feet. Unfortunately, it meant crossing the boundary, which was an automatic disqualification for her.

Despite hearing that she lost, Cupie wasn't done.

She sprinted towards Heisuke, not caring about the overseer telling her to stop or about the objects Heisuke might've thrown at her to try and get her to stop.

Metal rods? Cement? She would put up a shield. Throw her? She would put a shield to stop it.

When she reached him, one hand grabbed his collar and the other swung forward.

"You stupid motherfucker you could have killed me! What! the! fuck! is! wrong! with! you!?"

At each word, Cupie gave Heisuke another slap. She was, understandably, pissed off at him to the point that a teacher would have to physically come and pull her off of him.

"Alright Cupie sweetie breathe," before Cupie could ironically beat the boy senseless after the fight Allo had ran up, and caught her body even taking a premessure to cover his face with a gas mask just in case her fight fever was high enough to try, and smack him with a heart attack. As the catching her smacking hand he pulled her off of Heisuke.

"You did damn well no reason to let him have the last laugh Cupie," Allo spoke trying to talk some sense into his most hostile of students.

Cupie growled and tugged against her teacher, "Lemme at him! Motherfucker coulda pancaked me!"

Being pulled away just far enough that she couldn't slap him anymore she had slipped her shoe off and kicked it at Heisuke as her last attack. She would surely get it back later, but for now, she struggled more until she tired herself out. At that, she stopped struggling and hmphed.

"Whatever. Next time we fight I'm gonna kick your ass twice as hard Heisuke. I'll get stronger and stronger until I can beat your ass so hard you'll be begging whatever God out there to take you away from me."

As he threw the steam roller, a smile appeared on his face, not about crushing Cupie but knowing exactly what the only thing she could have done, disqualify herself. Though he did not expect her to come at him with daggers.

"Hey woah! Slow down, I knew it wasn't going to crush you-" Heisuke was cut off by Cupie with a grasp of the collar and slaps to the face. When Allo finally pulled her off, he couldn't help but laugh at the situation. "Okay I deserved that." Picking up the shoe, he waved it at her.

"I'll be looking forward to it!"

Eisuke watched on, unable to help but smile. "I see some potential with those two. Heisuke's telekinetic abilities seem pretty solid; as much as Chevalier's. Cupie's quirk is not only unique but seems to be a tricky thing to master. The hearts seem versatile, but I kinda wish we could have seen that red gas in effect."

"Huh.. Cupie there might need to be given more social skills training, otherwise I agree for the most part on what you said. Should be interesting watching these two grow." Says Gregori.

Aurora Vs. Killian

With the second fight over it was Aurora's turn to enter the field. This time the simulation turned into a hillside leading down into a small villages rice field that lead into a dirt road with a few cars, and a house. The positive well there was none for her this field held a massive disadvantage for her. She could use the cars for backup energy, but with the way she ate through her electrical attacks they would only be good for one electrical strike each battery… didn't help that her keratin manipulation fed off her electrical energy as well. Secondly there was the rice field filled with WATER. If she was completely submerged she was fucked endurance wise, and thirdly SHE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT HER OPPONENT. It seemed she had pulled the short straw in this round one line up from the stage all the way to her opponent. However even as this was all concluded she started to lineup her most optimale options for attack. Just because the waves were against her did not mean she could see herself through this.

"Aurora Tamoyo... SURGING IN," she chimed pumping herself up as in the distance Allo could be heard face palming with a chuckling at her reference pun to him as the crowd laughed a bit at the announcement. Fine if her fight had to be a hardship then she would do her damndest to prove she could surpass it. If the cards were against her quirk then she would use her intellect to win. Entering the stage at the dirt road she awaited her opponent.

Her opponent stepped out onto the field only shortly after her. He wasn't happy about the choice of battlefield either, too few things for him to hang on to and maneuver with. Actually, it was not just the field he was upset about, the entire festival made him somewhat mad. This was a glorified bloodfest, in which he was set to fight against fellow students, because knowing how to defeat your teammates can always come in handy, right? He heard his opponent introduce herself, somewhere he had picked up the name, though, it wasn't much more than that.

"Ach, man… was für eine Scheiße." He mutters a curse to himself. This was awful, the amount of energy his opponent could bring up for this event was a direct opposite to his utter lack of interest to fight at all.

"Killian Eisenschmied." He just blurted out his name with a sigh. Why waste any breath on unnecessary bravado? If they were just going to beat each other up for people's amusement, then that's about as much as he had to say.

Killian pulled his leather vest even tighter around him, so as much of his shoulders were exposed as possible. Four chains on each side slowly began emerging from underneath his skin, making a silent rustling sound with each new link that left his body. The quicker he could finish this, the better. It would just mean he didn't have to hurt another student as much.

With one swift motion he sent the eight chains shooting like bullets toward Aurora, he commanded them to wrap around each of her ankles and wrists, two per. He immediately pulled them taut, then he slowly had all of them begin pulling in different directions.

"Please, do me the favor to tap-out, I would appreciate not having to hurt you too much." With every word he pulled with more and more force on the chains, hoping that she would follow his plea and end this pointless fight as quickly as possible.

Aurora was taken aback by the sudden burst of chains as they quickly caught her limbs just as fast as they had bursted out as they tightened up, and began to pull. Cursing the element of surprise from her newly met opponent she was about to command her hair to strike when she suddenly noticed something...there was not much strength behind the chains pull… okay they were definitely tight, and clearly strong… yet to her… it was kind of like playing wrestling with her mom. With his bravado talk, and such it seemed her mind had played the attack up for a moment… the element of surprise was truly a unique feeling when it happened to you. With a somewhat blank stare she sighed a tad bit agitated by the underwhelming situation.

"Yaaa no," with a strong pull she moved her hands to her chest screwballing Killian's grip as she forced him to come forward. The latter face planted on the ground, receding his chains back underneath his skin.

"Why can't things go my way for once?" he muttered to himself, extending four chains from his shoulder blades again. The planted themselves against the ground around him and lifted Killian up about two and a half feet of the ground.

"Because if you can't take this seriously enough to earn it your in a world of trouble," Aurora proudly spoke up as her hair started to come life weaving itself into a series of dreadlocks with one heavy grinding sound her hair locked into form as sparks burst of the metallic braids. With a low bend of her knees her braids lifted up before pushing hard off the ground with seismic force propelling Aurora towards the hill side. While she was able to gauge his strength with that first stunt it was inclusive if that's all he had. Such a quirk was as unique as her's it was unlikely that was his only trick, or way of attack. With a quick landing near the rice fields she pushed off again into the sky. Thanks to Misoka sky training Aurora had more resistance to inertia taking over. As she landed with a series of rolls onto the top of the simulated hill she watched her opponent before starting to jog around to see what he would do.

"Not seriously? Mein Arsch! I think you got the… Oh, screw it." Killian planted an additional two chains against the ground, and used them as makeshift legs to move forward incredibly quickly. If she wanted to get away, she'd have to hurry. Killian, with all the speed he built up, used all the chains to push off the ground and into the air.

"Two can play at that game!" With that he shot forward six of his chains, the other two were his failsafe, toward his opponent, each at a different angle to try his best and make her defense predictable. Her hair seemed to be her quirk, similarly to how he could use his chains she could use her hair as a weapon, but what else could she do? Surely it wasn't just some fancy acrobatics.

"Oh really," Aurora asked as she halted her movement sharply turning around to meet his chain with with six braides of her own she deflected two of his chains when the rest neared their target she used those same strands to capture two of the chains as her own hands caught the last two. With a light up of her sky blue eyes a volt of electricity travelled up the two hair caught chains to electrocute the boy. Not done with the attack Aurora pulled with all her might with hair, and hands as she revved up her right fist to deliver a haymaker to Killian's chest.

Once the electricity hit him, Killian let out a short scream. The moment he realized he was drawn closer by Aurora's hair and that she was about to hit him with her right, Killian used everything that wasn't still numbed from the shock to force his body down underneath the punch, slipped underneath her right arm and once he was just a little behind her, he threw a kick to her spine and used that to push away from her as well. The chains Killian had extended to attack were retracting as quickly as possible back underneath his skin.

"They paired someone with a metal quirk against someone with electricity? Now, how's that fair?" Killian was laughing at himself as he complained. He had to think of something fast, because otherwise, he was toast.

"To be fair these match ups were random," Aurora called out to Killian as the kick off drew a line of distance between the two. Even footing gave the scenario a pretty nice view of the hillside down to the small field below. It seemed Killain could have taken a bit more of a shock, but given Aurora wasn't trying to kill him she had to be careful how much of a volt she released while protecting herself. Those chains were still metal, and Killian seemed to have complete control of them like she did her hair. Keeping an eye on the boy she chuckled.

"Box much," she made small talk as she circled around him eyeing his bodily reaction. Killian began walking parallel to her, raising his fists into a classic boxing stance.

"I see… you too, hm? But I have a feeling that it won't matter if I hit you. Nothing so far seems to phase you at all, I don't know why yet though. So what would happen if I punched you? Would I just break my hand on your skin?" He said jokingly. This was good, stalling, buying time. As long as he hadn't come up with a game plan, this was his best bet. He had to put on his very best out-boxing hat and some fancy footwork now, this would be the only way that he could avoid getting hit by one of her swings. Just from his previous experience with her strength he could already guess that one or two hits from her would knock him out and would probably cause some proper head trauma as well.

"IF you want to turn this into a pseudo-boxing match, then be my guest." Killian then had two chains emerge from the side of his index finger's knuckle and wrapped them around his hands like gloves. Who knew, this might work. If he could outspeed her and have her swing for nothing for a while, as he tried to figure out the best way of attacking, he might have a chance of survival.

"Aight this girl can grant that request," Aurora chimed chuckling softly at Killians joke feeling a tad bit sorry for how this would bring potential disappear or annoyance to him when he learned how true that statement was for many people. In response her hair relaxed to her back side with one braid tying up her hair into a ponytail. Her hands came up in a heavyweight boxer just as her grandpa Titan had taught her. Her long legs start to shuffle about as she eyed her opponent. She may have been slow to run but at short distances , and up close bitch was fast as she proved with an immediate gut punch for Killians left side clearly not being deterred by the boys iron knuckle threat. Killian, more out of instinct than anything else, took just a tiny skip back and over to Aurora's right side, where she couldn't try to hit him with her left, and tried throwing a straight left for her ribs. The punch connected and seemed to have no effect at all on Aurora, Killian, however, was still going, stringing together a quick combination of blows to any spot that could gain him an advantage, ribs, chin, temple, solar plexus… and all of them with no effect whatsoever.

"Well… that worked freaking gangbusters now didn't it?" He said, taking a couple of steps back. So either she was somehow impervious to pain, or made up of some incredibly hard material he couldn't get through, both were very, very bad.

"Seriously… what are you made of? Titanium?" Killian was trying to stall a bit more, plus an answer to this question might actually give him some insight into what he was trying to combat, something, anything would be better than what information he had now.

"I think for your sanity I will keep that answer to myself," Aurora smiled devilishly as she realized they were nearing the edge… at this rate this fight was now being dragged out. She had been cautious at first, but now it was clear this needed to end. So she needed him to stop backing off thus there was only one option. Pretending to forget about the hillside setting she repsoition herself slowly acting like she was about to build up some sort of attack as she neared the edge, took the bait, was all she thought. However, it was clear he refused to move thus she needed to change tempo. With a soft enchanting flow of her hands her braids burst apart revealing a silky heavenly appearance as her hair lit into a cosmic glow… this all however was all just a distraction. Her leg while taking a tantalizing stance was also unfortunately a good jumping stance as well as her angel like appearance turned demonic real quick as her face flared into adrenaline rushed excitement as she burst forward closing the small gap delivering the spin kick of a painful life time as her hair caught her spinning target, and threw him backwards off the cliff.

The glowing was confusing at first. What kind of strange hybrid quirk did she have? Hair? Electricity? Pain nullification? Light? None of this made sense! Killian was at a loss, attacking was no good and defending from her wasn't an option either, she would probably break all the bones in his arm if he tried to block any of her attacks. So the only thing Killian could hope for was his speed, whatever came next, he had to be quicker. At first his stance remained, ready, waiting, but as Aurora's little display carried on, his hands slowly lowered until they were barely above his waist. He didn't know exactly why, he was somehow simultaneously stunned and scared of what was in front of him, because chances are whatever it is would take him out… but at the same time, it was probably her intention for him to look a little. That plan worked flawlessly.

"What th-" He couldn't even finish his sentence before the heel of Aurora's boot connected with his face. His vision went blurry immediately and he felt his mouth fill with a familiar metallic tasting liquid. He noticed his body tipping over the edge of the cliff.

By pure instinct, Killian tried to somehow brace the fall, his mind was so clouded the thought of using his chains didn't even cross it. He tried to brace the fall by hitting the ground with his right hand first, but all that did was make his arm fold up underneath his torso with a sickening sound. He still felt it and it could still move normally, not broken… lucky. Killian fought his way back up to his knees, pushing himself off the ground with his uninjured arm. He felt something try to fight its way out of his mouth, and when he coughed to get it out, he saw blood splatter underneath him.

"Verdammt…" One more time he tried to fight his way back to his feet only to have his legs give out underneath him. He collapsed to the floor again, hitting his head on the ground on final time before the rest of his vision went blurry and eventually faded out completely.

"Huh…" Looking at the match, Gregori strokes his beard briefly. "Our Student from Germany had some interesting Tactics there that may have paid off against another foe, but sadly that was not the case here. The difference in power while being of the same inspiration you could say was too fast. Fortunately this match will serve to give him something to work towards.. And an interesting potential match for our semi-finals."

"That quirk of his has potential, and I can already think of a few people he'd have an advantage against. Unfortunately here, the match up wasn't on his side. Man, now I'm really pumped to see how the semi-finals go! And I'm certain the audience can agree on that one."

As if on cue, the women and some men screamed in response to him as if trying to gain his favor.

Amaris vs Octavia

Octavia stepped into the mock arena, Fosc sitting on her shoulder as the bird's eyes helped guide his host forward. The area was admittedly serene, calming and beautiful. The warmth of the sun caressed her skin, giving her a pleasant sense of happiness as she stood across from her opponent.

Amaris, the shadow girl with an impeccable taste for fashion and makeup.

She knew this one was not someone to underestimate, but she didn't know the extent of her fighting capabilities. Octavia had learned that the original Class 1A, before the attacks and the transfers, were tested against their teachers in mock battles where they demonstrated their strength and capabilities.

A part of her wished she could have been there to witness the amazing display of her classmates.

When told to introduce herself, Octavia decided to go first.

"Hello, I am Octavia Daulfern. A pleasure." She gave a bow out of polite courtesy.

Fosc and Octavia both directed their sights towards Amaris, Fosc looking directly at the girl while Octavia's gaze was a bit off.

"I'm honored to be fighting against you, Amaris. I hope I can prove to be good competition." Octavia smiled.

The goth daughter of the number four hero strolled out onto the field to face her opponent. She glanced around, first the stands of cheering people who were here to scout the next generation of heroes. Then her eyes took in her surroundings. It seemed their arena was to be a shrine. Your typical vampire would not be caught dead here. Or rather, they would be. But Amaris wasn't a vampire from myth, she just has a vampiric quirk. She shielded her eyes from the sun shining overhead; she was wearing a special sunscreen that would help her fight in daylight. Still, she peered up at it through her fingers, wincing. It still bore down on her. It wasn't the sun, but its mimicry was good. She'd have to employ different tactics in this battle.. It was almost as if someone specifically chose this arena with her quirk in mind.

Next, her cold dead eyes fell on her opponent. A girl who transferred lateish. She had the crow quirk. Amaris wasn't all too concerned -not that she knew what it felt like to be concerned.

She gave a courteous bow in return. "I am Amariss Alucard. Ssaigo no Kage." She clenched her fist, "The Lasst Shhadow you will evver seee."

"Don't go killing me now."

Octavia's bird looked around briefly for places that could be used for hiding spots such as the trees and the tops of the buildings. There wasn't much she could do against Amaris quirk-wise, but she still had a chance in a fist fight.
When the announcers gave the go ahead to start, Octavia's first action was to get off the ground and turned into bird form.

She summoned 10 birds alongside her, giving the flock the silent command of flying at Amaris to try and attack her.

Octavia herself flew to the roof of one of the nearby buildings, summoning two more crows and having them take perch as well; one in the trees, and the other on a pillar. Each of them had a good view of the battlefield and were there to watch Amaris from all angles. Hopefully Octavia could get a sense of her opponent's attack patterns and figure out how she could counter her.

Amaris watched as the girl turned into a bird and flew up and away from her. Fleeing and letting her quirk do the work was logical, but "annoying". Still, Octavia did exactly what she had expected.

After Grimjaw, this girl wasn't scary face to face. Not that Amaris knew what fearing something meant. She readied her fists, and as the birds neared her began striking them. She punched the first two, then twisted and kicked a few, twirling and landing a few more kicks on the swarm of birds. She flicked her hands and two shadows came up just around herself, whipping away a few other birds. There were a few pricks from their beaks and claws that got through, but in her twisting fury, she was ultimately beating them back quite successfully. She knew Octavia was connected to her birds; who could last through this? Octavia or Amaris?

Still, this was nothing but a distraction. Sweat appeared on her forehead, focusing intently. Shadows extended in secret, hiding away from peering eyes. One behind Octavia, crawling under the lip of the roof she rested on, and two behind the birds in the trees who were watching her. Biting her teeth, still keeping the flock at bay, she finally allowed those secret shadows to attack. They came up quick, whipping at the birds who were keeping an eye on her. The other shot out from the lip of the roof and caught bird-Octavia's ankle.

After her battle with the villain and some physical conditioning on her off time, the punches and kicks didn't hurt as much as Octavia was used to. Yes, they still left their mark, but it could have been due to Amaris's strength not being near where the villain's had been.

Octavia, surprised, found a shadow wrapped around her little bird foot. Her other two birds disappeared upon touch.

Due to Amaris having her attention on her birds, Octavia pulled and pulled until eventually she managed to get away.

It would seem nowhere was safe to perch, so Octavia would have to adapt in the only place where it would be safe. The sky.

But, that would cause a stalemate in the fight and well, that wasn't very fair was it? If she took to the sky and kept attacking with her birds, Amaris would eventually just sink into the ground. It would be boring.

Instead, she had an idea for them to settle things.

Octavia flew over to the courtyard; no pillars or high places for her to stay in, and no shadows for Amaris to link and use.

There, Octavia took regular form and made her birds disappear.

"Amaris, if we continue as is we will reach a stalemate. Would you like to settle this with hand to hand combat? No quirks, only fists." She offered.

She escaped the shadow grab. Made sense, at this distance, directly under light, it was weak. In order to win, she'd need a much stronger shadow grapple. She flexed her senses and felt the shadows around her, was there enough for the strong shadows she required? Troubling. It'd require a lot of her blood to buffer them, it seemed.

When the birds disappeared, Amaris glanced around, not expecting that. Fists still raised, with many little cuts and pecks all over her dripping blood, she looked over to her opponent. Who had regained her human form.

The vampire girl did not move over, though. She had no idea how good Octavia was in hand-to-hand; she really did not know much about the other girl, to be honest. Still, after Grimjaw, she doubted this girl was that threatening. That was no reason to agree to such an idea, though. "Ludicrouss," she replied. "Ssimply ludicrouss. We have quirkss, why would we not usse them?" Amaris was flexible, but knew the power behind her fists was not much. She would be actively choosing to lower her chances of winning substantially. To agree to such a thing was utter nonsense.

Her opponent was out in the middle of a field, which made attacking her with shadows in this well-lit arena difficult, but through it all, Amaris kept up her guard, ready for any attack at a moment's notice. From here, she could not extend the shadows in a threatening enough way, so she'd wait cautiously.

"I will not try to convince you." Octavia spoke up, "This is simply because if I keep to the sky and you keep to the ground, it will simply become a war of attrition. We can settle this fight with our fists and no quirks, or we can allow the judges to decide. But, I would rather provide entertainment for those that came to watch us fight."

It was true, Octavia could fly up into the sky where she was unreachable. And Amaris had wondered why she had yet to do that. It seemed Octavia thought that was "unfair" or something. Something silly like that. To Amaris that made no sense. Fights were not fair. Yet it was true, should Octavia do that, then Amaris could not see a way of winning.

Again, she said something nonsensical. "Entertainment?.." Amaris found herself mumbling, unable to fathom what that meant. She glanced around at the stands. Was this just some sort of spectacle for Octavia and the others?

Regardless, Amaris was keen on the girl not flying up into the air. She did not care about 'entertainment' or whatever, but that was worth agreeing to. "I am not undersstanding. If it is 'entertainment' you seeek, would ussing our quirkss not be preferable?.." she mumbled, calmly strolling over to stand before Octavia with her fists raised. "Fine then.."

The lack of shadows around left Amaris feeling isolated.. She flexed her senses and came up empty. Such an empty feeling.. Such a feeling of desperation..

Out here, she felt so exposed, and hated it. Yep, she could feel that.. Hate. It was an unpleasant seed in her tummy.

"Using our quirks against each other, in this particular match up, would make this the opposite of entertaining."

Octavia got into stance, Fosc sitting on her head this time to try and get a good read of her opponent. Though her sight would be off, Octavia was used to it. She had been trained specifically to fight from any angle her bird would oversee.

She waited long enough for Amaris to take her stance before Octavia threw the first punch, aiming for the other's jaw whereas her other fist was reeled back and prepared to go for the stomach.

Again, Amaris did not care if this was 'entertaining'. She raised an eyebrow at the bird on Octavia's head. "You ssaid no quirkss. What iss that?" she asked, pointing at the bird.

She dodged the first punch, then sucked in her stomach to dodge the second aimed at her stomach. "Hey! You ssaid no quirkss! Fine, if you get to usse yourss for a boosst, then so will I." Frowning, she aimed a strike up and a shadow slid off her extended arm, slashing into the bird on Octavia's head. Then she brought up her foot and jabbed it down at Octavia's ankle.

Octavia was confused at first, but then she quickly understood. Fosc's wings flapped, trying to dodge but getting hit. The bird's vision made Octavia lose track of where she was and she almost buckled from the jab at her ankle.

"Because I am blind! I need the bird to see, and I can't just make him disappear." She explained to the other, Fosc quickly regaining his composure to go and cling to Octavia's back.

"Blindnesss iss not an excusse when you are the one to pushh thiss 'no quirk' nonsensse," Amaris reasoned callously. "You cannot make him dissappear?.. Then I will usse my shhadow." Her shadow slithered around her arm and she punched at Octavia's chest when the other girl was thrown off balance.

"Not an- …"

Just the words alone made Octavia have to stop and think for a second, the anger settling in from Amaris's words.

"Blindness is not something that can be helped you heartless bitch, and it's not "my excuse" to have Fosc on my shoulder! He is 100% necessary to make this fight even!"

Though the punch to Octavia's chest landed, she had two large cushions to absorb most of the blow.

She pushed Amaris's fist away from her, throwing another punch at Amaris's jaw, then another if the first missed. Octavia had only wanted to provide entertainment and make the fight fair, but if things continued, she may end up adamant about making Amaris eat the dirt.

Amaris had already explained why Octavia broke her own rule, so saw no need to continue. She just could not understand someone who was a blatant liar and who relied so heavily on emotions like this girl seemed to.

She was able to avoid the first hit, but the second connected, shoving her head down. "Gah!" Amaris growled. Her shadow popped off her shoulder and caught Octavia's extended arm, to stabilize Amaris after the strike. Pulling herself back, she turned and punched right under Octavia's arm, jabbing up into her ribcage. Her shadow moved onto her other fist, and she uppercutted at Octavia's chin, the shadow extending her reach.

Octavia literally had to throw herself back to try and avoid the fist, but now she was stuck and her lower jaw hurt. So now she wasn't fighting fair all because of a misunderstanding.

Very well.

Fosc flew forward since both of Amaris's hands were occupied, pecking and clawing at her face while Octavia used the opportunity to throw a left hook at Amaris's jaw again.

The anger from before was becoming more apparent, inner resentment and frustrations slowly surfacing. After years of being looked down on, of being seen as lesser for having a disability, was slowly taking over. Something about what Amaris said had frustrated her, and if Octavia got her way, she would in no way stop at one punch.

A retaliatory punch was to be expected. This was the issue with fighting with emotions, so easily readable.

So Amaris, being the short, lithe girl she was, nimbly bent backward to avoid it, balancing on her left leg. Her shadow slithered down her to help root her to the spot, so she could put force behind her next attack. In the same exact motion, her right leg came up to kick right up into Octavia's stomach, putting intense pressure there due to the angle her body was able to achieve from the movement and the support from her shadow on her left leg.

Octavia's breath was kicked out of her, and she was thrown off balance yet again by the kick to her stomach. Amaris was not expecting that attack to work out so well, but since it had, she didn't waste a beat.

The blood dripping from her myriad of small wounds pooled into the small shadow beneath her. It turned into a shimmering coppery color. Diving right into her own shadow, she disappeared beneath Octavia. Amaris knew she would only have a moment; her own shadow would very quickly disappear with its host not existing. The shadow disappearing would fling Amaris out, which was intentional to put force behind her attack.

Purple began returning to her eyes and a fanged grin appeared on her lips. She was shot from her shadow as it disappeared while she called her special attack, "Shadow Blood: Corkscrew!" Intensely spinning out of her shadow, her fist connected hard with Octavia's chin and sent her opponent flying away. Amaris landed and shook her hand, holding her wrist. Turning to the crow girl laying there, she said, "I don't fight fair. Anythhing to win." She was speaking to an unconscious girl, as that attack was enough to knock the other girl clean out.

Watching the fight from his stand, Gregori frowned somewhat. Between the remarks in closing and in general, coupled with the nature of the fight he exhales, while his partner said nothing. "Amaris advances to the next round. I do not know where she picked up counting aiding in being able to see as a serious quirk use, or winning at any cost, it is not something taught at the UA. Either way the display of skill of both fighters was..commendable. She is Set to face Aurora in the 2nd bracket."

After everything, Isamu had thought about quitting more than once. His father and mother had even considered trying to pull him out of school. He remembered the fear and worry on both of their faces. He'd expected it from his mother, but his father? He couldn't get them out of his mind. worse was Cupie. She'd been hit harder than him. He hadn't even spoken to her since... He sighed. He has to do better. He shook his head. No. He didn't have time to think about these things. He was going to be fighting and he had to focus on that. He needed his head in the game.

As silence filled the field of battle, the eventual cracks of fire serving only to punctuate how thick the air was. From one of the sides of the arena rises a girl clad in an alien uniform compared to U.A.'s. Black and yellow stripes gave it a distinguished outlook.

Walking calmly into the scarred battlefield, the name that appeared on the screen was enigmatic: "Empress." She uttered herself as it was announced by the commentators.

Scanning the battlefield as she knelt down, the exchange student analyzed her status and her enemy's. Her enemy had yet to announce themselves, making her job of locating them a pain. Still, there were few places to hide here… Indeed this arena would prove perfect for her direct approach.

Isamu had been working hard ever since the incident. He'd been utterly useless and because of that he'd lost a good friend. He scanned the area that would be the arena of his battle. That he'd even made it this far was a testament to how hard he'd worked. He took a deep breath. "B-bombs Away!" He announced his future hero name, a name given to him by his friend. Makoto had said it as a joke, but it felt more than appropriate.

It wasn't until after he'd said that, and the fight had been called to begin that he realized how dumb announcing himself was. That could have been a great advantage! "Dammit…" He mumbled before his eyes found the girl he'd be fighting. He didn't know anything about her, but if he was smart he might be able to win this.

"First a few bombs," he said as he took aim, inhaled and spit 3 bombs in her direction all moving fairly fast. They were low in power, but would still pack a bit of a punch if they hit her or near her. But he couldn't wait for that. He kept his eyes on her, but darted off to the left. Staying in one place wouldn't be good for him. Hit and run was his best option for now. And if he could find suitable cover, all the better.

Scouring the wastes with her golden eyes, Shizui noticed a rather chubby figure suddenly waltzing into the field with seemingly next to no care for subtlety. Indeed he announced himself with some degree of hesitation, screaming out his apparent future hero name and not bothering to protect himself. Sighing, Shizui propped herself up from her kneeling and watched him begin his attack.

It seems like his name wasn't just for show, his ability revolved around spitting something which she could only presume were the so called bombs… "Intriguing." She mused as her hands moved forward and red and black energy, mixing into a purplish hue, formed around her hand to call forth a square-like shield.

With her door set up, the first bomb connected to create a massive repulsion, pushing away the material used in a manner that seemed almost fantastical. With the pieces of the bomb splattering away into the oblivion of the arena's flames. As the second ball connected, she reinforced her defense, forming another shield in front of it and disassembling the previous. Given the distortive nature of her doors, it almost looked like nothing had happened, but she had indeed to reinforce her defense just in case. His bombs were no slouch… She'd need to keep an eye out for them…

With that, Shizui looked up above her and opened a single door well above the arena and above the boy, roughly five meters above his movements. Walking closer with her first door still in hand, she seemed intent on reducing the distance while maintaining her defense up.

Isamu watched as a door materialized almost out of thin air. Was that her quirk? How did it work? He wasn't even remotely sure. So, what would be his plan of attack? How could he figure… There was a shadow above him. He looked up. "Wha…" He couldn't just doubt and second guess himself.

Fortune favors the bold! Fortune favors the bold! He mentally shouted before taking another deep breath. He spit one, two, three, four… eight, bombs at her each one stronger than the last. He stumbled a bit though. If he was right, she'd probably stick to defense though and this would help. He looked ahead of him for a moment before glancing back at Shizui. No time to worry about how the bombs went off. He lunged into a roll behind a pile of debris.

It wasn't huge enough to hide him completely, but it did provide something much more important. FOOD. He immediately began to pull bits of the debris into his mouth, chomping down the burning wood and scrap metal with ease. It wouldn't give him back his stamina, but it would give him more energy for bombs, and that was much more important here.

Seeing him spitting out more and more of his bombs in an arc towards her, she squinted her eyes. "Annoying…" She muttered as she darted into her own shield, springboarding herself upwards while holding onto the border of the door to pull it along with her upwards…

Isamu for his part would now see that the door from before had suddenly started to move extremely fast in his direction, taking and sometimes avoiding the balls he had launched in her direction. Leading the door was a distorted version of the girl he had previously seen, although she seemed almost like an intangible ghost than anything physical.

One… Two… With that, she was near the door above, popping out of her shield and propping it slightly above her before jumping… Forcing her extremely fast towards her target, the portal above her. While she jumped, she kicked the border of her own portal to create a spinning effect on it meanwhile forcing the other door even further above.

Touching it's edge and using the momentum to swing back, she briefly watched as her entire skin was now covered in the black and red energy she had previously held… And thus she was propelled from the portal in an extreme velocity, her entire body briefly becoming a blurry, red and black torpedo in the direction of Isamu's cover…

"What the?!" Isamu was at a loss for words. He hadn't expected her to avoid his barrage of bombs so easily, but suddenly she was barreling towards him. He turned to face her. He steeled himself. Right. There wasn't anything he could do. He hadn't gotten to eat too much, but he had eaten and that was good, but this was risky. Well, no reward without risk. He would just need to give his bombs a little more oomf. He spit out a bomb right at her.

Maybe she would tank it, maybe her armor wouldn't hold up, but the resulting explosion, if he was right, would put some distance between them. But he couldn't rely on it blowing on contact with her. So... he threw a piece of wood right at it. Even if she avoided it, it would still explode hopefully putting some distance between them and kicking up a lot of dust and debris to give him a little more cover.

As the self-propelled torpedo moved in his direction, Isamu would watch with some degree of despair, only to witness an explosion larger than he may have expected. With the bomb connecting not to her, but with seemingly another door, the detonation caused the door to immediately become volatile and push away everything near it. The debris that he had managed to eat covered the sky above in a rain of flaming dejects as the door continued it's imminent implosion, resulting in a quite beautiful… But deadly sight.

The implosion that followed would look like a rip in space and time, the very area around the door distorting abnormally before expanding into red and black energy covering the entire area. The energy would fall down on the ground and on the entire arena, given the previous height of the door.

Isamu's eyes widened as he was indeed blown back, but not the way he'd expected. The resulting downpour of energy from the door's implosion by result of his bomb was… scary. He'd skid across the ground, tucking into a roll to try and get himself to his feet. What he would have given to just lie down and give up… but that wasn't an option. He began to run trying to avoid any thing and find cover, but it was all gone.

The entire arena's very energy shifted… Flames were extinguished by the energy, the already dark and sombre feeling became one heavier than before, while the girl was nowhere to be seen… Only for the same door as before to suddenly slam itself against the student, pushing him away and providing him with a rather terrible sensation of despair and fear during its touch.

Isamu gasped as he finally hit the ground. Dammit her quirk was strong. She was strong. But that wasn't it. That wasn't what had him on the ground. It was what he'd felt. The fear and despair… it wasn't his. He swallowed hard. He tried to think of what to do. There was no guarantee he would actually get up even if he spit another bomb at her if she came face to face with him. It might be just what he needed, but something was stopping him.

"You…" Isamu began, but stopped. Tears beginning to run down his cheeks.

With the portal stopping in front of him, the girl walked out from it. Pieces of her armor restoring themselves from their destruction. It seemed like he indeed managed to deal quite some damage. Most of her plate seemed to have been severely scarred or burnt, while the pieces of the left armor were all but gone. However, as she walked outside, the very living energy from the door latched itself to her… Gently caressing her figure all the while restoring the armor to it's pristine condition.

With that, a spear's tip pointed itself from the door, pointing readily at Isamu as she spoke. "Do you yield?" Her voice echoed from the armor, cold and seemingly sharp, as her finger pointed at him…

"You're really sad aren't you?" What he'd seen and felt, he couldn't get out of his head. "I'm… so sorry."

For a moment… Her face distorted into a visage of hatred. Little to no expression other than that, her spear started to spin slowly, it's tip changing its form…

"You've nothing to be sorry for." The tip slowly became bulkier, changing into a completely different weapon, but retaining it's former energy-like form. "I'm just another girl wanting to be a hero…" She said as he finally understood the form of the weapon that was now formed from the portal: A hammer.

Shizui's expression was no longer one of hatred… It was a plain one… A tinge of sadness forming on her now bearing view.

Isamu closed his eyes and bit his lip, wanting to say something. But what could he say? He didn't know. As his eyes opened, he shook his head. He could see it in her eyes as he wiped the tears from his own. There was nothing left to say really. And anything he said might have just brought back the rage to her eyes. But it didn't stop him. "M-maybe…" he paused unsure if he should, but continued, "…maybe I don't have to be sorry for anything. But I am."

Shizui's eyes didn't change. The same expression of emotionless disregard graced her features.

"Then one day you shall make for a great Hero." Was all she said before the hammer was launched from her door and towards his gut. It was nowhere near the same velocity she had provided before… It's only intention was to knock her foe out…

Kneeling in front of him she cupped her arms below him, lifting him from his slumber she brought him along with her to the outside of the ruins.

"A valiant warrior until the end… Worthy of nothing but contempt…" She mused as she finished her first round in a rather somber feeling… Unlike what she was initially expecting.

--------------------
Watching the battle with some interest the old man stares briefly, not saying a word. "Well it's clear who won that one, Isamu's time in training wasn't for nothing however. He did rather well all things considered and this new transferee to class 1A is fairly impressive as well, though that quirk concerns me if hostages had been in the area.. Interesting Anti-Elemental properties. We'll see how she performs in the next Arena match, Overall this was a good match for the fans to enjoy, yes?" Gregori says, looking at his partner in the announcement stand.

"That quirk is particularly dangerous to it's allies, and miss clearly has emotional issues. Another Amaris oh joy," Allo sighed the other problem was the ego on this one which made her worse for ware then Amaris. This was one of his new students and while they soared in potential… their were many prolonged problems to eventually handle.

Eisuke, much like his partner, watched the battle intently. He examined what student did what, their quirks, their strategy, and how they came up with solutions. "Gotta say that Empress's quirk is definitely another unique one, and it has a lot of potential. However, it's far too powerhouse for anything other than combat and containment. No way would I trust that quirk with a group of civilians or any kind of riot control, but it was still an impressive display nonetheless. She clearly knows what she's doing, and with further training, she'll be a great Hero. Isamu, it's clear he's gotten better than the last time his teachers saw him. I gotta give him praise for coming up with strategies on the spot, and if that quirk were trained better, he'd have some great combat potential. I'm rooting for the both of them!"

As Isamu was carried off the arena, he struggled to awaken. He opened his eyes briefly, weakly, to look up at the girl who'd beaten him helping him. "Th-thanks..." was all he could muster before subsequently passing out again. He'd used up a lot of energy even before she knocked him out initially. He could just faintly hear the judges commenting on the battle they'd just witness. But there was so much more too the fight than what had been readily visible. He wasn't going to let this go. He had to be more proactive during his time at UA. Maybe this was a way to start.

Kazuo
UA Sports Festival
Mentions: @Azurian Dream @Jessica2477

Kazuo had arrived to the Sports Festival fairly early. It may not have been expected, the Number 1 Hero just hanging around, but things had been a little different the past few weeks. Today though, he had one priority, an that'd been watching his son Ichirou. To say he'd been been impressed would have been an understatement. Being away so often, he missed a lot. He tried to be there for the important events, but that didn't mean he didn't miss things. He'd watched an admittedly funny victory on his son's part along with the other student's skills. He couldn't help but not some of the few he wouldn't have minded recruiting for a work study, provided they'd wanted to after all. Ichirou was a given offer as his son, but beyond that, it would have been a great time to help with his quirk and battle technique. Strength, fire, other elemental abilties. He felt there were a few he could help guide given the chance. It was intriguing to say the least. So much so, that he quickly found himself drifting off in thought.

Collab with @Mr.Scales ⚖
Walking through the huge and loud crowd, Kaori tried to keep his head down from being noticed, not from any fans or those who could recognize him but of any potential villain that could find him and try to kill him. When he made it to the crowd, he couldn't help but smile seeing the old arena again, he remembered back to when he was just an innocent 15 year old getting his ass whooped in the first round, the good old days.

Right then he found him, his old friend, well more like brother, Kaz. Through his teenage years, Kaz took him under his wing and got him out of his comfort zone, make him feel like he belonged in this world and always was loyal to him, leaving his past behind did really hurt him, he was still a little scared that Kaz would hate him now or wouldn't care.

Seeing an open seat next to him, Kaori sat next to the number one hero. Damn he really does look like the same clumsy dumbass I know. He smiled to himself.

"When did you start going gray, old man?" Taking off his sunglasses Kaori looked to his friend. "Been a while Kaz."

Kaz's eyes had been so focused on the arena that it had been easy to lose focus of his surroundings. He mentally cursed himself when the voice pulled him back to reality. A moment of calm, just watching as the students duked it out and cheering for his son… Man Ichirou had gotten stronger… It all gave him an odd moment of calm and relief after everything that had happened.

So when he heard the voice he audibly groaned. Still, as he turned to see the face of the person who'd spoken to him, his eyes widened. The Number 1 Hero of Japan was shocked. "Lil B- I mean Kaori?!" Kaz couldn't help from shooting to his feet and pulling his old friend up into a mighty bear hug. "What the hell man?! Where have you been?!" He was perhaps a bit too excited, happy that his "little brother" had returned.

"Dammit, I'd punch the crap out of you for disappearing like that if I didn't think it'd send you across the stadium and disrupt the Festival!"

Kaori couldn't help but laugh at his friends excitement, it had certainly been way too long since they last talked, he couldn't even think of the last thing he had said to him. "Okay, okay! I wouldn't have came in a coat and sunglasses if I wanted the attention." Though even if he tried to sound angry, he was just too happy to see Kaz. "Yeah and I'd probably deserve it, I'm sorry I didn't call or anything, I just needed time...Hell, I'm not sure I would've came back if it wasn't for her." He looked out to the field, even though she wasn't fighting yet, it made him anxious just thinking about seeing her.

"It looks like little Ichirou has really grown eh? And followed in his parents footsteps, you must be proud." Kaori nudged his friend in the shoulder.

"More than you know," Kaz responded almost immediately. It was true. He couldn't be prouder of Ichirou. But he calmed himself, letting go of Kaori. It didn't pay to draw added attention after all. Besides, something Kaori said had stood out to him. "Her?"

Kaz looked looked out over the arena again, taking his seat once more. "What do you mean her? You got a kid?" It was amazing how out of the loop Kaz had been on Kaori's life. Of course, he'd been out of the loop on many lives. When had things become so hard? When had he become so distant? He sighed and shook his head before focusing back on Kaori. "Seriously, Kao… What have you been doing?"

Sitting himself back down, Kaori let out a deep sigh getting ready for a long explanation.

"Yeah, I'd like to say that I just learned of her existence but I'd be lying, a long time ago while I was travelling across America, I met a woman and we, well, y'know, she told me about how she was pregnant and I...ran off." His tone shifted, having been disappointed in himself. "Anyways I was told that she was now attending U.A, which means she could be in danger, I may be a coward but I'm not heartless."

"But as to where I've been, well after what happened to Ichiro...I just needed time, apparently seven years time, I was just going from different countries and became a travelling doctors, going from village to village helping though's who couldn't get proper medical care. That was until Ramiris came and found me and told me all about this whole mess...and about Chitose, Kaz I'm really sorry, I can't imagine how you must be feeling right now."
He patted his back.

Kaz usually felt he knew what to say, but when Kao brought up the elephant in the room, he was at a loss. "When I first came back, I was angry. More than angry. I went after every low life and two bit criminal that had the gall to call themselves a villain. I didn't sleep, I didn't eat, I worked my sidekicks to the bone. I didn't even check in on my son I was so angry." Kaz wasn't proud of any of this. He was supposed to be better. "I couldn't stand not seeing my wife, or my daughters. I'd prepared for the worst come back after hearing a voice message Chi had left me."

He stopped and shook his head. "Allo helped me... Gave me a stern talking to, good news, a pat on the back... The whole nine yards. But if I'm being honest, Ichirou…" Kaz couldn't help but chuckle, "my son was the real reason I was able to get my shit together. When I finally saw him… Man it took everything not to cry. He'd been dealing with things on his own, so strong. I hugged him as tight as I could. And when I see Chi and my girls I'll hug them too." He turned back to Kaori. He's avoided it for a bit. He hadn't wanted to lecture his friend, but he felt like it was important to bring it back up, if only for a moment.

"You know, I can't say I'm not disappointed in you about this whole daughter thing. But there's always a chance to turn things around," he said before sighing. "I don't know who the young lady is, but I'm sure having her father in her life would be a welcomed…" he paused, "maybe not at first, but after everything, if you haven't already met her, or thought about meeting her," Kaz sighed. "I'm sure you know the rest."

His heart did ache when he heard about everything Kaz was feeling, Kaori was so up in his own world that he never tried to help his friends "I know how it feels, having someone hurt the one you love and having so much anger that you want to avenge them, it doesn't help anyone, revenge doesn't help anyone, especially yourself." He thought back to when he lost Ichiro and what he did out of pure anger, he deeply regretted everything from that day.

"I'm not going to tell her, telling her could cause even more confusion and I don't wanna screw her life up, she's better off not knowing." Slouching in his seat, Kaori smiled thinking back to when they were kids. "Man it's crazy to think how much has changed since we were kids, everything is so complicated now."

"But we knew what we were getting into." Kaz sighed and put his arm around Kaori. He couldn't force him to tell his daughter; it wasn't his place. He was glad to have his friend back though. "Alright Kao, but you make sure you have her back when she needs you, ya hear me?" The larger man couldn't help, but grin at his smaller companion. "I'm not totally against the idea of kicking you're scrawny, aloof ass," he laughed.

Kaz was totally right, sometimes Kaori thought about what would've happened if he took a different path, but he did take it and if he would do it differently he would have never met any of his friends...and Ichiro. "You're sadly right." He then thought back to his daughter, what she may look like now and if shes anything like him.

"I will do that, I'm here now." Kao let out a a pretty loud laugh, he was always a good combatant, even if Kaz was much stronger than he was. "Hey I'm still sitting here arent I?" He snarky added.

Kaz simply smiled at Kaori's response. "Ya know... I sure missed having you around Lil Bean." He said before standing as the first round came to a conclusion. "I'm gonna go do a round and check over the festival. You can stay if you want." With that, Kazuo left his seat in order to patrol the festival. Then, if he had time, he could visit Ichirou before the second round began.

Shunsuke
UA Sports Festival
Mention: Basically everyone
Shunsuke had arrived with his best friend Shizui a bit late. Finalizing documents, the whole exchange program thing, meeting the student's they'd be switching with... He remembered the girl. She was somewhat odd. Seemed a bit desperate for attention, but surprisingly quiet at the point he'd met her. She'd been putting up a brave front, but... Oh well. He pushed it from his mind. Whatever had happened at UA, what was happening at Shiketsu... It was all stuff to worry about in the future. Yeah, today was a day of relaxation. And Shunsuke was gonna make the most of it!

"Oh my god~" the young man swallowed the bite of takoyaki he'd just taken. "This is the best Takoyaki I've ever had." He said as he strolled from stand to stand buying snacks for munching. The tournament would have already started. He needed to go find a spot to watch from. Food was one thing, but he wanted to see what else UA had to offer him. What else did he have to look forward to apart from Top heroes teaching him and Shizui.

It didn't take long for the young man to find himself a space to watch the tournament from. It was in full swing. He would get to see almost everything at least. He smirked. This was interesting. A bit funny and much cooler than he'd expected. He burst out laughing as Ichirou feel balls first into Masaru's face. He followed each moment of Yosuke and Charlotte's back and forth. Some fun jokes in there. He couldn't help, but wince at Adelaide's quirk; that would hurt him a lot. He was unsure how to feel about Amaris' tactics. He was focused on Aurora's fighting style and the chain user's strategy. He was shocked at the result of Cupie v Heisuke, only able to respond with a small "ooooh." And his blood boiled watching Jet and Kanna duke it out. It quite possibly too much to take in: every arena, every match up, every battle. Shunsuke was almost sorry he wasn't participating himself. Of course, then he wouldn't have been able to chow down like this. He took a bite of a burger he'd picked up.

"That just leaves..." he paused as he watched Shizui's battle with Isamu. As the battle reached its climax, Shunsuke jumped to his feet. What was left of his food, the scraps and bits he hadn't eaten fell to the floor. His eyes widened. "Shizui..." He spoke quietly, almost in a whisper. Isamu's words sent a shiver down his spine. Shunsuke had been where he'd been. But he could tell this had affected Isamu more than it had ever him. It could have been because of his hardening, or maybe the little guy had just been more in tune with his sensitive side than Shunsuke was. And just like that, it was over. The first round had come to a close. Shunsuke ordinarily would have cleaned up his mess, but he wasn't about to waste his time. Shizui was going to go to round two. He had to check in on her. And maybe meet some of his future classmates.

With the initial rounds out of the way, Gregori oversees the arena grounds. One stage needed to be repaired, the random fields seemed to be rather well received though there were a few complaints about power vs trickery, a complaint he would ignore. Overall the crowd seemed to be in good spirits and most of the students. Of note a few promising stars were now known and a few issues of note. Eisuke seemed a bit on edge, not that the new headmaster could blame him. The Past was a painful thing. And maybe this would help the man a little bit or all of them, smilingly thinly as he slaps the other on the back, Gregori gets to his feet, calling out loudly.

"Students of 1A! Though some of you did not make it through round one, remember! These are your Comrades first and enemies second or never! The past is a bitter Mistress and defeat is not to be taken lightly, but should one hold on to a grudge forever and a day, then for tomorrows battle who will fight with you? To these ends those of you below watching the battle, or in the medical tent, I invite you all to join us on the observation deck, here at Announcer's stand! Snacks and Drinks will be made ready, some come up here and have your fill and cheer on the rest who are left from this point on!"

With that out of the way he motions for the Blue haired girl to type into her computer, the next four stages would be generated..

Ayame vs Ichirou

Located atop a Mesa Cliff, moderate over in the form of a three trees and some rocks is to be had, the environment is rather dry with the holographic projector showcasing more of the landscape in the from of sheer drop-offs and other mesa's. The arena edge is at the edge of said mesa and what seems like a long fall is little more than 5-10 feet.

Aurora vs Amaris

In near perfect detail the Ninna-ji Temple's Shinden's South Garden is on display. With a couple little plants and it's massive featureless garden, the outer walls of the other buildings serve as the boundary of the arena, with the balcony porch being the only exterior cover apart from the plants. It is close to the default arena, if not a bit nicer to look at.

Kanna Vs Heisuke

In a near perfect recreation of Akihabara's South Exit the Titans of Mind and Might will face off. With it's neon glow, shops and a few cars, this street offers many possibilities with it's limited size, being a full on street would be impossible to build for a simple battle ground.

Charlotte vs Shizui

A factory from a time long ago, it's generators sputter and fire as conveyor belts whirl to life, the engines of industry bleed steam and flame as the factor goes to work, stamping and rolling out what seems to be metallic components for one machine or another.

"What interesting stages this time around, seems the Gods once more roll the die against Amaris, will she overcome? An Urban Battle against the Strongest of Mind and Body. Our little Panda friend will find herself hard pressed it seems, and a Factory for the two ladies, I am curious how this will playout. Fighters! To your fields! Judges, Take it away!" With four fields, Misoka could actually take an active interest in the fights this time and Allo would find his task a bit more easy, as the Quirk users and prop makers hurry in clearing the old fields and building the new. Now was time to see who would make it into the Final four..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Taking strides through the city street, it looked almost exactly downtown Japan, a couple of cars parked around the street along with dozens of buildings down the block lit up by neon lights and the lights that were always on during dark.
While he didn't know much about his opponent, he did hear about the previous fight with another student, Jet, which seemed to be a real blowout. He took note on the several items around that he could use to fight against the girl, cars, street signs, light posts, all might slow her down but couldn't keep her down, he needed an actual plan and fast.
"Heisuke, ready for my second fight, good luck Kanna."
Looking to his left then to his right, Heisuke planned for his first attack. Pulling two light posts from the ground, Heisuke aimed them both at his opponent, aiming them both at her body,
Entering the street herself, all the lights and shopping stands were of little interest to her, all of it was mostly electronic or entertainment based, well, provided any of it was real in the first place, being that the whole place was constructed purely for this fight. Entering the main street lane, the other was there. The Mind reader, psychic of some sort.. "Ah, Kanna.." With his response being to ready for an attack, Kanna who was still not fully calmed from her earlier fight is quick to action as well, not worrying if one or both gets injured, snatching up one of the Cars on the street she holds it above her head and readies a defense or offense. Taking note of what all was around, she had plenty to make use of here, as the dark aura leaks from her body, her thoughts overwhelmed with one goal.
After throwing the poles, Heisuke retreated away from his position and instead floated himself so that he was on a nearby building, he finally had a plan in mind but while he didn't know the extent of her quirk or even her weaknesses, he had an idea that could weaken any fighter. Soaking up his environment, he was a little surprised that she had blocked the attack with a car, it almost seemed like you could see the anger radiating off of her. So if I am right, Kanna has a quirk that is like a freight train, any attack that could hurt her could also make her stronger, so if my plan works, I'd need to really get her angry.
The next thing Heisuke did was destroying the glass from a nearby store and picked up each and every small piece of the pane of glass and threw it straight at her.
As the glass connects with her skin very little damage could be observed minus the occasional cutting into her clothing or a prick here and there on her skin, though rare. Hefting the Car into the air right at him, she is quick to step off into a run right behind it to close the distance, as he punches a column in passing, aiming to throw debris from it at Heisuke as she continues to close.
Heisuke was caught off guard about how fast her speed to strength was, it looked like she could pick up a car as fast as she could have thrown it. Seeing it come straight in his direction, Heisuke raised an arm and stopped the vehicles only a couple of feet away of him, much faster than I thought, this'll be tricky. His eyes appeared back at Kanna, currently she was charging straight in his direction, even throwing debris in his direction, he was able to throw a lot of the debris away but a couple of them hit his check and his shoulders.
Knowing that the best plan of action in Kanna's shoes, it would be to separate the gap between her and Heisuke, which is exactly what she was going to do. Floating over, Heisuke flew back to a further building, one much taller than the last one he was at.
Glancing at his retreat she was still largely in control, though beating him was the priority. Taking some time to consider it, that was at the edge of the arena they had, wasn't it? If he was up to something fancy then she would just have to crush it, either way he wouldn't be flying off so easily. Hefting up a light pole, she tosses it before breaking into another store, punching a hole into the wall as she vanishes inside the complex. She didn't expect the poll to do much.
Finally, this might just work. Heisuke was almost so into his own thoughts that he was barely able to stop the pole from striking him. Seeing that it was a distraction, Heisuke knew this was the only time this would work. Looking to the taller building to his left, he noticed that it was being held by some almost weak looking beams, if he could just destroy the beams the other building could timber down onto the one the two were currently in/on, though he would have to be fast. Slowly Heisuke bent the beams and watched as the building began to tremble and tip into his direction, just over him. Fuck run! Heisuke flew out of the way and was able to get to a good distance away before seeing the building start to fall onto the one he was just on.
"If that doesn't stop her nothing will."
With the stage collapsing around them it would be up in the air what would happen ultimately, though he would be very disappointed soon enough. Exiting through the wall of another building it seemed she didn't follow him all the way, likely scaring the piss out of him as she just punched her way out of a wall, the Miko is Quick to throw a vending machine at him, rushing in to be damn sure he didn't fly off this time, she was smiling thinly as the street gave way bit by bit, as if plotting to ring out him… Or maybe to pound him to bits, ultimately the two were now interlocked in a falling apart street.
With her sudden movement and not being where it was expected, the Priestess had gained the Upper Hand as the world around them churned itself into rubble. Grabbing hold of the male she puts a considerable amount of force into her spin, tossing him clean through a barricade and into the next 'street'. In this case the end of the Hologram, a ring out as the building fell atop her. "...Urk.."
A gulp could be verbally heard clear his throat, he waved his hand in motions to stop her from the next attack. "Hey Kanna, no hard feelings right? Wait WAIT!" The next thing to happen would make Heisuke regret dropping the building on Kanna, spinning him around and then throwing him through a barricade, Heisuke could feel his whole body physically ache. "Ugh…"
".. My God.. Al..err Alloy Surge, what's the status, is this a draw?" At that mention, the Miko exits from the edge of the field, or rather pops up out of it with a panel of sheetrock and a few bricks falling from her frame. She stares pointedly at Heisuke with a strange glare but soon returns to her own corner, making her way across the rubble. Suddenly Cheers erupt for the pair as Gregori chuckles. Had she tried to save him just then?
"I see the Priestess surprises again, now I don't doubt that building falling on her, what no, two buildings? Who can say.. Though Heisuke there is fairly powerful and thought up a good strategy. While that might not kill her, if he had better preparation I find it likely he could have gotten a time out.. Well I hope he knew it wouldn't kill her.. Though it is curious in his last battle he read the opponents moves so well.. Is Kanna Immune to that or did he not try.?. Either way it was an amazing display of skill from both fighters." He says with a grunt and a not. "Still though that is a Second stage she's destroyed..well, no, he did this one. Ah the bean counters are going to be upset with me.."
Eisuke didn't know what to say, yet again. Seeing this girl fight… he just couldn't see her as a student. Too many painful memories; too many people hurt.
He'd never understand why they let this girl into UA, and he knew this was a thought he shouldn't be having, and yet he couldn't help it. Chitose had informed him ahead of time who this girl was and her connections, trusting him with it to ensure no surprises in the future. And yet, a part of him wished she'd never said anything.
Well, he was just glad Kanna was on their side this time.
"You think rebuilding all this is in UA's budget?" He asked with a grin, obviously joking. "Honestly? I'm pretty damn speechless. There's no way I could put it better than you did Big Chief."
In truth, there was nothing he could say. That damn quirk… He felt like he needed a bath just from seeing it again.
Amaris Alucard
zsgnF0b.png
After her battle with Octavia, Amaris had gone to clean up, freshen up, and you know, get some medical help. After which, she left the infirmary now sporting many little bandaids dotting her body all over; her white skin marred with multi-colored bandaids over all the bird pecks and scratches. She had lost more blood than she thought, and since she needed her blood for her more powerful shadow techniques, she sought to replenish what was lost. Many food stands had meats, like hotdogs and the like, but she wanted something bloodier. Finally she found a hamburger place using actual beef. The cook looked at her with a mix of worry and confusion, but she left there biting into the bloodiest, rarest hamburger the place had ever served. While others retched -including the cook-, she found this to be the savoriest thing she had eaten in a long while.
"Ohmmphh omnomnmnm *munch munch*~" Amaris happily ate the bloody burger, dripping the red stuff all along the path she walked. People veered out of her way, frightened by the short girl eating what they thought was a dead animal. Some had seen her fight, and gave her looks of disapproval. Nothing bothered her of course.
While eating, Amaris busied herself with watching all the other fights.
These were some people she did not recognize. New transfers it seemed, since some had left the class. This class didn't keep its students very well did it? She wondered how long these new kids would last. At any rate, it was still worth watching to see their quirks and skills.
Charlotte -the girl who taught her many things- was fighting a boy who she did not recognize. His quirk.. seemed a bit on the low end. No, it seemed rather weak. Still, he seemed to hold his own. Amaris couldn't fathom that. Charlotte was a telekinetic, she should've won handedly, and far faster. If Amaris felt emotions, she would probably have been disappointed by Charlotte's display.
Next up was Adelaide versus Ayame. Again the battle was strange. Somehow Ayame won. Adelaide's showing was even more pitiful than Charlotte's. How did someone with sound waves lose to someone who needed to fight up-close-and-personal hand-to-hand?
The battle between Ichirou and Masaru was far more interesting, and in line with what Amaris had been expecting, knowing the two boys. They each had strong quirks, with Masaru's capable of being overwhelming. Still, he lost, but it was within reason. Although.. at a point in the fight, the audience had been laughing. Amaris looked around, then back over to the two boys. Ichirou had pinned Masaru. A good maneuver for a close-range fight to take against a ranged-ice user. What was so funny?
Kanna and Jet was eye-opening. Amaris hadn't gotten to know the late-comer, but his display of his quirk was vast. Again, if Amaris felt emotions, she probably would've been scared, or at least unnerved. Regardless, she stood there in something akin to awe, but you know, not awe, cuz -no emotions.
Kanna was another matter entirely. Amaris stared blankly at the powerhouse, wondering how she could possibly take the behemoth down, should the two fight. Amaris decided there was really only one way to win.. It was a bit pathetic, but again, 'anything to win', right?
There was another new boy fighting Cupie. She lost to him. Another telekinetic, but Cupie was a trickier opponent than the one fighting Charlotte. Still, Cupie rung herself out, so it was not a full display of what could've been. Regardless, Amaris did not understand Cupie's quirk, so she doubted she would've understood anything should her quirk's effects come into play.
Last up was Aurora fighting yet another new person. He was a boy that had a quirk that used chains.. That seemed like a useful quirk, but probably useless against Aurora. Amaris stared intently at their battle, namely at Aurora. The battle went about as you would've expected, with Aurora winning quite confidently. Which meant... Aurora was her opponent. Her girlfriend.
Actually, no, there was yet another fight. She did not recognize the girl, and after watching, Amaris frowned. Her quirk was a bit confusing to observe. It seemed very strong defensively and provided equally harrowing offense, although it seemed volatile and while the girl used her quirk well, it was obvious she did not have complete or even strong control over her quirk. Which spoke lengths to how strong the quirk was when she came out the victor rather solidly. Poor Isamu. He had an interesting quirk, but it was more of a one-trick pony sort of deal. Spit up bombs; most would not fall to such an obvious quirk. His path forward would be tough.
Then there was a record of her battle with Octavia showing. Parts of it were being pointed out, and analyzed by random people, reporters? Hero analysts? Scouters for agencies? Whatever. They focused heavily on certain aspects of the fight, that did not seem to sit well with many people. She thought she heard the analyst say "She makes my stomach churn," in his commentary. She paused at the screen, staring at a beaten Octavia. It wasn't like she knew being blind was a horrible thing. It was, obviously. Perhaps what she had said made people angry? Why, though? "Don't sset ruless thhat actively impact you negativvely," she mumbled. Before taking another hearty bloody bite.
She shook her head, "Ifh only you had jusst chhanged into a bird and flew up high. Thiss losss iss on you." She scrutinized her own fighting style and drew in a breath, still feeling the pain of her fight. Her body felt slightly sluggish and movements made her wounds sting. In the fight, she watched as her shadow reinforced her attacks and limbs. That tactic had been a spur-of-the-moment thing. Though, it had always been theory of hers to buffer her body with her own shadow, due to having a lack of physical strength compared to a lot of heroes. Octavia had just given her an avenue to try it out. It had worked. Effectively training this way of using her quirk. For that, she appreciated fighting Octavia.
Holding up her hand and flexing it, her shadow came up and enveloped her arm in dark while forming a fist. "I need to masster thiss," she mumbled to herself, knowing it would be beneficial in the future. Maybe as soon as the next fight.. Actually, definitely. Aurora's skin was so tough. Shadows were her only way of damaging Aurora reliably, she figured. How would she fight her girlfriend, she wondered? Like anyone elsse... Yess, like anyone elsse.
Reactions: Azurian Dream
Charlotte & Shizui
As the time came for the next battle, Charlotte entered the faux arena that this time was in the shape of some creepy old factory. Looking around, it was somewhat noisy as the machinery appeared function despite its apparent age. Steam enveloped the air while flame emerged from various appliances. All in all, it was a rather dreary and gross place Charlotte would have preferred not to be at. The plain was so much more pleasant.
"Chevalier at the ready… Wait, do we still introduce ourselves since this is the second round?" Charlotte hummed to herself as she eyed her opposite.
It seemed her luck, or lack of it, was remaining constant as she was facing yet another new face. The only good thing about this bout is that she had some sight of how the girl fought in the first round.Though that didn't help all that much. How it seemed, her quirk was rather unconventional to say the least, and there wasn't much to say on her personality. Her quirk appeared to heavily rely upon those doorways she made, though she could seemingly create other things from the energy expelled like Masaru could with ice. Her demeanor appeared very cold and stoic, not that Isamu was really the type to be able to antagonize someone. She'd have to figure out that quirk and its weakness, thankfully the environment provided plenty of cover and ammo.
Her opponent, Shizui, had just entered the arena, her expression similar to the previous battle's: A cold and stiff stare. One could even say that she was nearly evil in the way she carried herself, with regards to nothing but the battle ahead. Right now, she wasn't really having the excitement she had been promised. Instead, her first battle only brought back issues and memories from an already buried pain…
Eyeing her foe, she knew little about her. According to her last battle, she was capable of manipulating objects telepathically and throw it at her foes… This meant that the arena was quite a net positive for her, with all the ammo around… But Shizui had similar interests in this arena… "Empress." She uttered once more, with little regard to carrying on with pleasantries.
Extending her hand forward, a blur would form around her hand, red energy would combine with a blur to create a door roughly her size in height, but thinner, taking the form of a round shield. Shizui would grip the edge of the door… Standing in position to seemingly prepare a defense…
However, atop from Charlotte another small door would appear before suddenly moving down to bash her, speeding down similarly to how she previous barrelled on Isamu.
"That's it? No hi, no nice to meet you? You're really committing to the grim dark thing, aren't you?" Charlotte spoke out, tilting her head slightly as her opponent seemed averted to carrying on the intro any longer.
There it was, that door that made no sense again. Then again, none of them really made sense, but it was still somehow strange even compared to the others. However, the first seemingly was just a precaution and soon a second appeared above her to strike. Charlotte was taken aback by the sudden assault, but still managed to shove herself back to evade the attack.
A pout adorned her face as she once again looked at her opponent. It didn't seem as though there was really any trigger or tell for when or where the girl created the "doors". You either saw them or you didn't. That put her at a bit of a disadvantage, however while range seemingly wasn't an issue for her opponent, it wasn't much of an issue for her either.
"Now, now. I don't feel very comfortable fighting you head on with that quirk of yours, so let's test the waters a bit, hm?" Charlotte said with a smug, eyeing one of the pipes the girl stood next to.
An old, whistling pipe with steam escaping from a loose bolt that began to creak and crumble before one end of it was yanked forward to point at Shizui, blasting steam at the girl.
Charlotte needed to test the boundaries of what would and would not work against this girl. Hopefully, if she couldn't see then she couldn't very well summon her doors to strike her from blindspots, and if that much was true, then she certainly had an edge. Just in case, though, she tugged at a few spare pieces of metal and smaller appliances for ammo.
As the door slammed against the ground in front of Charlotte, it stood still like a wall, adorning the area like an unnatural force, the red energies oozing out of it. The first part of her plan set in motion, Shizui eyed her from afar, her yellow eyes gluing themselves to the girl's heterochromic figurine. The shield she was holding in her hand enlarged and formed a full-fledged square in front of her as the girl seemingly spouted on and on about nonsense that Shizui could care less about…
Talking was of no use and it would not bring her any victory. If needed, Shizui would shut her up with force… After all, she had made the terrible mistake if standing still as she talked and prepared her attack. She had just stood in front of Shizui's means of attack and mobility.
Taking an immediate step forward upon hearing the pipe bending, Shizui's body was sprung from the portal to the other one in front of her. Through her travel inside her own dimension, she flashed like a bullet in a single direction: Charlotte. Her body enveloped in the energy, she would come out fully armored to clash with her foe. Similarly to the first battle, the black and red energy would surge from the portal alongside her body.
Her fists balled, she would come in hot to cleanly strike Charlotte away or close the gap as much needed. From what she had gauged, the french girl's close-combat was lacking at best, meaning that while she held some advantage by removing the Empress' sight from afar, being close by would provide her no such advantage, even if the steam covered the entire factory, Shizui would still see her and would still be able to use her doors to full extent.
Sighing a bit, it seemed that the girl wasn't intent on taking the bait. No banter, no fluster, no remarks. How dull. Another of those brooding types. In that case, her best bet was to simply beat her with a strategy and force.
The door in front of her slammed to the ground and just as quickly as the steam shot at her she traveled through, clad in that blackened armor of hers. Certainly, if Charlotte had seen Shizui's fight, then the girl had seen hers as well. Likely she was judging that close combat would be more advantageous for her. She was right, unfortunately, however Charlotte still had a defense as long as she was given material.
As the girl shot through the door with a black-clad fist, the three pieces of debris she held clumped together and shot forward to intercept the attack while Charlotte hopped and floated back. Even if it made it obvious that close combat was the way to go, the girl couldn't risk the armored one getting close.
"Such a scary look for a hero," Charlotte chimed as the pipes around the arena began to creak similarly to the one before.
Twisting and snapping the pipes ripped from their holds one by one, spraying steam into the air and filling the factory. Even if it would only disrupt her vision, that would be an advantage since it would inconvenience Charlotte none. Then, similar to before, she ripped some machinery from its place to serve as protection, albeit this time, her debris of choice were some conveyor belts and their railings, which she stacked on their sides to form a sort of wall to hide her from view further.
After coming out of the door in a missile fashion, Shizui was met with a spray of projectiles thrown in her direction, which only served to provide a nuisance. It seems that indeed Chevalier wasn't going to let this become a close-quarters combat. All the more reason for Shizui to pressure her… She had managed to see the psychic's general escape route and glimpsed to where she had gone to… The question that she had bared in her mind was… How fast was she?
Could she properly avoid attacks even while high up? Looking around her, Shizui noticed a nearby object that could serve to assess this question… Thus far, she had preserved her momentum in the offence and have made sure that the one in the defense was Charlotte. However… There was one curious thing about the Chevalier… One thing she would have to check.
Having closed the previous door as soon as she entered her realm, she created another door in the area generally behind where Chevalier escaped to. A large three meters door would form behind her, meanwhile Shizui walked towards a nearby machine and grasped a large cog-like piece of the factory's production chain. Ripping it from it's place, she hurled the piece in the general direction of Charlotte, meanwhile her door would propped two means of attack from behind: A hammer was fired from the portal in high velocity alongside the factory's gear, while the door behind Charlotte also started to move down towards her, aiming to pin her between both attacks. To protect herself similarly, Shizui also had pulled the door she had come out of to serve as a barrier to any attacks that the girl could come up with.
Gazing through the makeshift wall, Charlotte eyed Shizui as she made her next move. Assuming Shizui knew nothing of her short of her fight in the first round, she wouldn't know about her ability to see clearly through objects. For all the girl knew, she was just trying to play defensively as the Empress' quirk was more directly destructive than hers. If she played her cards right and didn't make it obvious, she might be able to lull her into a loss.
Pausing as the girl went to grasp items around the arena to throw at her, Charlotte took a quick glance around. Even if she couldn't see her precise location, there wasn't anything stopping her from making more doors, just being accurate with them. Besides, she still wanted to be prepared in the case that her opponent chucked a physical object through one of them. Sure enough, one was a ways behind her; a pincer attack between the objects and the door. If Charlotte didn't have the foresight to see it coming ahead of time, it would've been dangerous to dodge.
Smiling for but a moment, Charlotte returned her expression to that of inconvenience as she flew upward and towards the back of the building, leaving her makeshift wall to be crumpled by the projectiles. The steam had overtaken much of the building, but her position was still fairly visible.
"No thank you! I don't want any!" Charlotte chimed back as she retreated further.
Just short of literally being backed into a wall, the surface behind her matched the dull color of the rest of the building. There wasn't an escape route this time.
A slight frown graced Charlotte's face as her expression strained. The machinery below her began to rip from the ground and float to her position. This time however, it did not clump together to form a shield or with the intention of defending an attack, but rather shooting at the girl's position and hailing down projectiles. It seemed like a last ditch effort or that she was out of options, but was she really?
As the projectile connected with the hammer, and then with the door, Shizui clicked her tongue in response. What followed after was that her door quickly grew volatile and imploded in response. The explosion being large enough to clear the steam from a good portion of the arena, and allowing the Empress to once more see her opponent.
Narrowing her eyes, she eyed the woman's reaction to her previous attack. "Annoying." She uttered as the girl prepared her next attack from afar. That was it.
Shizui was tired of letting her keep her range from the Empress. Holding the edge of her door she threw it forward and created another one right in front of it. Using the velocity built from slingshotting herself between portals, she would begin a series of jumps towards Charlotte, aiming to go higher up and above her. The quirk's distortion made it like like Shizui was diving among tubes of energy, propelling her faster and faster while building up force and speed.
With each portal, the energy would stick more and more with Shizui, providing her the force necessary to continue barrelling upwards and strengthening her armor to provide her the defense she'd realize she needed. After every jump, the door from before would become obsolete and disappear from thin air. Shizui was planning to face whatever she was throwing at her head on and build enough force and speed to completely overpower it.
As her opponent began her acceleration, Charlotte's eyes widened slightly. In truth, she wanted the girl to charge her, but regardless it was still a bit intimidating. She certainly didn't want to get hit by that. Thankfully she wasn't going to.
Charlotte wasn't sure if throwing everything at her, even if it was all a direct hit, would shatter that girl's defenses, so she opted for the safer option; allowing her to show herself out.
As Shizui torpedoed towards her, Charlotte's smirk returned as a section of the wall behind her seemed to begin to bend. Rather, it was a conveyor belt that covered a window in the wall, concealing it as the rest of the building's vertical surfaces in the limited steam that still remained in the building. The belt swooped upwards as Shizui neared her, slinging Charlotte upwards to impact lightly with the ceiling, meanwhile giving her opponent a clear shot at the window.
Speeding towards her target, Shizui quickly noticed her plans… But it was already too late to even attempt to change her direction. Grinding her teeth, a portal opened up in front of her to which she attempted to grasp at it and sling away… But to no avail.
Instead, her hands ripped the border of the door, crushing it's form and effectively ripping it to shreds. What followed was a massive implosion, pushing her further away from the portal and sending shards and pieces of the wall behind her off of the arena along with her. After being launched off, Shizui opened a single door behind her to avoid more damage, and went on to roll away against the ground, sliding a good chunk of the dimension's topography before reaching a corner to which the energy dispersed in response to her impact.
Red and black… Purple mixes together around her vision to muster the expressions she expected to see after this… A blurry mess of feelings she dreaded. A desperate attempt to create a safe haven had become her own personal hell.
"Pathetic." A voice echoed through. "Beaten by someone who doesn't even hold a candle to you." Her armor slowly crashed into bits and pieces below her as she got up, walking towards the door she had managed to open before her impact.
"So, what now? How do you think you're gonna be able to explain this? When will you accept your weakness?" Despite it's taunt, the girl didn't react. "If anything, you're just lucky to be alive. You should've died along with all the others back then. You've been given a chance to be useful and all you do is squander it." The door was nearer by now and she could see…
"All you need is power… Nothing else mat--" After walking through, Shizui closes the door behind her to witness a massive destruction left behind by the implosion from before. Her expression was not one of anger or rage like when Isamu questioned her, but a solemn one. Sighing, Shizui began her walk of defeat towards the exit of the arena… Seemingly broken not only in body, but perhaps also in spirit.
With that, Misoka signals Allo, who calls the winner.
"Well, that was an old age adage at work." Gregori says, watching the fight. "Charlotte did not have a chance in a pure stand up fight..Er.. Chevalier, damn kids and picking names in advance.. But ah yes, had this been the normal stage she would have lost and hard I would think. But that was the point of these arena's to reflect where in the world a hero may fight, often times that won't be a white ring with nothing. In her rush for power and glory, Empress as she called herself paid for her Hubris as her weaker foe used trickery and that very power against her. Hopefully this will serve as a lesson to not just her, but us all."
"Strength and power, while good things to have, won't matter if your opponent can figure out a way to get around it. This is why, no matter how small an opponent may look, they should never be underestimated. Yeah, I agree that if the battle had been all about brute force, Empress would have had this in the bag. Unfortunately for her, people like Chevalier, regardless if they're a Hero or Villain, don't rely on brute force to turn things around." He smiled. "I really hope this experience will help both of those girls grow, especially Empress."
AYAME V ICHIROU
Ayame sighs a bit, while she knew she didn't have much of a chance, she would still give it her all. Among those here there were only a few she pictured being able to take out Ichirou.. But even so, she would make him work for this win. She would have rather fought Masaru though, his ice would have been nice.. Fire not so much.
As the stage is finished it seemed it would be a mesa with a couple of trees and overhangs. She at least had landscape she could deal with, the heat however…
Shrugging it off she climbs up the 'steps' that were on the outside of the Mesa, generated to look much taller than it was, as she picks a place to dive for cover, to scurry up the rocks as soon as they started. "Er..A-Ayame ready to go!"
Ichirou didn't want to underestimate Ayame; he knew she was smart and very capable of defending herself, but even he thought this was a little unfair. Particularly the arena they had gotten.
From what he could see, there wasn't all that much for his opponent to hide in, and from what he saw from her fight with Adelaide, Ayame liked to hide.
He'd better end this quickly then.
"Ichirou Mizushima, ready!"
Once the match was called to start, Ichirou ignited his flames. He went over to the trees and quickly shot streams of blue fire over them, taking out Ayame's potential hiding spots one by one.
With the trees ablaze, Ichirou used his speed to head to the rocks he saw Ayame climb. His intentions were to find and capture her since there was no way he was going to hit her if it wasn't necessary.
'Okay we can do this! I have trees! My friends!' it was then as she made ready to leap from her rocks that she deflated slightly. Everything was on fire… She wasn't fire proof, she couldn't climb burning trees.. And he was running right here as fast as could be. With her chances shot she still had to at least try, with that thought in mind, she points at him, standing as big and tall as she could make herself seem and then jumps straight at him with her claws. Her Round one opponent would have likely won on a stage like this as well.
Ichirou, before he could make it too high up the rocks, saw Ayame standing big and tall on the rocks and pointing at him. He hopped back down, prepared for whatever attack she had in mind. However, he hadn't expected her to just come at him claws ready.
It almost felt like a trap, or an act of desperation. Regardless, he was ready.
Ichirou, once Ayame was close enough, turned off his fire and caught her in a hug. His arms wrapped around her body, restricting her claws and her movement by holding her tight.
He started walking towards the out of bounds line, and once there, gently set Ayame down on her feet past it.
"I'll make it up to you; I still owe you for that thing during vacation." He told her quietly with a smile.
".." Pausing to think of that, she wasn't sure what he owed her for, had she forgotten? Tilting her head to the side it was disappointing being defeated, but even during her struggle not much had happened. Physically he was just that much stronger, poor Adelaide likely wouldn't have lasted much longer, so far there were only three here that could hold their own, or at least two against him.
"Hmph, well keep going and win then!" Crossing her arms a bit as she watches him, she then smiles and waves, skipping off to join the others.
Ichirou had smiled and waved back to her, "I'll do my best!"
"Well, that one knows when to..give up? I'm not sure if that is a good trait or not, however with the field on fire there wasn't much she could do outside of a token resistance, and she is being a good sport over it. Her opponent was also aware of these facts and made use of it, burning the cover and hazards, then defeating her in a gentle way. Not a bad fight, but I wouldn't expect highlights." Gregori adds in as Allo calls the winner.
Eisuke shrugged his shoulders, "Hey, this match up favored Ichirou in almost every way. Ayame tried her best regardless and good on her for doing so. Also, good on Ichirou for not taking the opportunity to toy with his opponent, as other students have done in the past. I can't wait to see the next matchup!"
Kanna Tanaka & Ayame Dachi Observation Deck
One having won and the other lost, the two join the others, if only for a short break in the case of the winner, so far this round was going fast...
"Aww man.. I lost.. And didn't get to see any of the other fights. Well I can watch these, hehe.. Oh Kanna...er your...a bit dusty and your clothes are torn in a few pl...err.. Are you alright?" Peering up at the priestess, Ayame was a little worried about her taller friend, but also a little scared, wondering what all had happened, there was even blood on her hidden just barely by the Hakama.
"Huh..? Ah, yeah, I just want to sit to myself for a little while and rest, I'll stay down here on the steps, won't be long till I fight again." Ruffling the hair of Ayame, Kanna points to the steps. "Get going, they have food and drink I hear. I might head to the Medical tent and check on Jet unless he's around here."
"I haven't seen him, but I just got here.. Did something happen to him? Oh they have food, ehehehe. I hope it's apples and those little shrimp thingies or the cheese on sticks."
"Er.. Nothing he wasn't wanting to see." Clenching her fist briefly it was all too easy.. Petting her on the head again, Kanna then removes her hand, taking a seat as she said she would. "I'll be fine."
Nodding at that but still somewhat doubting it, Ayame was curious to watch some of the replays of the other fights and to see how Adelaide was doing, among others. Humming along to herself she hurries up the steps and almost immediately begins seeking out the drinks and snacks to see what was to be had.
Sighing, Masaru exited the locker room showers with a fresh change of clothes and some bandages taped to his face. His match hadn't gone the way he'd have liked, for a number of reasons. First, and most obviously, he had lost. Second, Ichirou's tendency of miraculously getting physical with him was becoming a running gag. Then there was the third and final reason, which was a bit of a hit to both his pride and body, mainly his head; how he got cartoonishly planted into the ground like an ostrich hiding its head.
He had hoped that the other fights would have gotten his mind off of things, but unfortunately the headache he now had disabled him from forgetting, though they were certainly interesting.
Ayame's fight was rather well done, using her crafty nature and strategy to beat Adelaide. Unfortunately, she had gone on to face Ichirou and her environment did not favor her whatsoever, thus Ichirou was going to the semi-finals.
Aurora had faced one of the new transfers, another foreigner with a quirk for chains. As with Ayame's second fight, the German had very poor luck with both the environment as well as his opponent, but from what he seemed, he had good control over his quirk and solid combat skill. Thus, Aurora went to the next round.
Octavia had faced Amaris and this battle was quite-Rough. They both did well in countering the other, until Octavia offered another option to finish the fight. At this point, the two began to argue because the girl was of course fighting the Queen of Literal. Still, he wasn't expecting even Amaris to tell Octavia to basically "Stop seeing" because it was technically with her quirk. Seemed like she had really pissed Octavia off too. Masaru hadn't recalled ever seeing the girl like that, she was always so gentle and kind. Apparently, even she had limits and triggers.
Cupie had fought-An unwelcome transfer. Masaru had really hoped to never see that little shit again, but here Heisuke was, undoubtedly ready to test his nerves in the future. Surprisingly, he had beat Cupie. Apparently, he wasn't lying when he said he could back up his bark. His quirk was similar to Charlotte's as it seemed, which was a pain. He had to admit though, while he had been rooting for him to lose, the sight of Cupie slapping the shit out of him did bring a smile to his face.
To add to his amusement, he went on to fight Kanna of all people, which went about as well as he expected. Heisuke seemed to be very similar to Charlotte in ability and tact-Well, tactics. His tact was severely lacking. Regardless, Kanna was Kanna and honestly was beginning to frighten him. While her first fight against Jet she actually appeared unnerving, in the second, she survived a building toppling over her while simultaneously throwing Heisuke out of bounds. That made her a major hurdle to overcome.
Isamu had returned to school just in time for the tournament, which Masaru was glad. They weren't all that close, but Isamu was a good kid. In his mind, they needed more heroes with his mindset. Unfortunately, he was going against one of the new exchange students who had some strange power. He was fairly overpowered by whatever that quirk was, not to mention the demeanor of the woman. Something was off-putting about it, for a number of reasons.
Charlotte had interestingly enough been doing well. She had bested one of the new students in the first round, making use of her quirk and tactics. He thought she was done for in the second round against that girl, however she had surprised him greatly. Masaru predicted she would try to use her smarts rather than face her with raw power, but she had actually bested her. Even if she was a little gremlin, he was happy to see her doing so well. Unfortunately, Kanna was her next opponent, and she had already beaten someone with Charlotte's playstyle. However, who knew? She might surprise him again.
Now, was a short intermission between the other fights. Honestly, part of him wanted to rest the pain away, however there were still more matches to view. Still, maybe he could sit down on the bench outside the locker rooms, rest his head back and close his eyes a moment.
Unfortunately, just as he shut his eyes, a smug snicker sounded next to him.
"Aw, come on Ma-kun. Don't look so pitiful, you did great!" Charlotte consoled him in a mocking tone. "I'm sure no one noticed..."
"The first thing you say, and I already want you to STOP. TALKING." Masaru groaned, drooping his head forward land in his palm.
Snickering, Charlotte seemed to be enjoying herself during her intermission. There wasn't that much time before the next fight, so she was just planning to take a stroll. However she had found Masaru pouting and she couldn't just leave him be after the performance he and Ichirou put on. They couldn't blame Cupie this time either.
"Shouldn't you be getting ready for your next fight?" Masaru inquired with a scowl, resulting in a shrug from the girl.
"There's nothing really to get read for, aside from strategizing, and I can do that while walking around," Charlotte replied with a sheepish smile. "Besides... I'm sure you saw I'm fighting Kanna left... and a building didn't stop her soooo... Gonna have to hope she falls for something similar."
"Well, you beat that Empress chick... so don't sell yourself short," Masaru told her.
"Honestly, I wasn't planning on getting this far... but, I decided a while back to apply myself, so I'm going to try my best for first. Truly, I thought our positions would be reversed though..." Charlotte admitted, bringing a finger up to scratch her cheek.
"Like I said, don't sell yourself short. You're a massive pain in the ass."
Smiling at that, seemingly genuinely, it quickly morphed into one of smugness as she conjured up a retort.
"Well, you would know more about that than I would, wouldn't y-"
"Shut up and go get ready for your next fight!"
Sticking her tongue out at him as he chased her off, Charlotte decided to leave him be as she turned a corner with a wave.
"Be sure to keep rooting for me, Ma-kun!" Charlotte chimed.
Masaru for his part simply scoffed at that and returned to his seat, leaning his head back to rest against the wall.
She was still pissed she lost to someone like Birdhead; not because he overpowered her, but because she lost in such a predictable way and there was nothing she could do about it. Honestly? She was waiting for Heisuke to lose and come get the rest of his beating and tongue lashing, and also his congratulations for winning. The motherfucker had great skill and seemed to know what he was doing quirk and technique wise. What struck her as odd is that his fighting style wasn't martial arts or some kind of kickboxing. It was more... street related. No form, just function.
Where the hell did that motherfucker learn to fight?
She'd have to ask him later when she could, but for now.
"Om nom nom nom nom"
Cupie munched on some snacks kept at the loser's corner, her feet up on a nearby table and leaning back in the chair. Honestly? Losing didn't suck that much, especially when they got those boss ass cheese and finger sandwich platters.
She watched some playbacks of the fights between her classmates, eating finger food like it was popcorn as she examined the way the other students did business.
Charlotte and a pink-haired boy she never saw before were the first to go, a new classmate who looked pretty adorable in his own way; kinda like Cupie herself. He had some good moves, but of course, Neapolitan outsmarted him and took him down. A shame for Yosuke, but hopefully he'll whip his own ass back into shape and do better. She looked forward to it. Charlotte also fought one of the new edgelord transfers and kicked ass too. Cupie needed to make a flag to root for her friend.
Speaking of the edgelord, that girl "Shitzu" also fought against the Meatball boy who'd been away for a while. Good to see him back, but not good to see some edgelord take a spot in the class.
Ayame, the cute fluffy girl did great against the big titty Adelaide chick. To be honest, Cupie thought Adelaide had it in the bag with her sound powers but apparently not. Unfortunately for cute fluffy girl, she was beaten in an embarrassingly short amount of time against Fatso. Not like Cupie could blame her; she got "head down ass up" fucked by the die.
Speaking of Fatso, he and Elsa faced off in a pretty good match too. However, one particular scene had made Cupie laugh so hard she nearly fell backward and spilled cheese all over herself.
She really couldn't wait to see Masaru.
Aurora fought one of the new transfers too; a hot German boy, or "Kratos" as she was going to refer to him by. Kratos seemed to have a great handle on his quirk, but like Ayame, he too had his butt ready for the die to fuck him over; twice considering his opponent. Still, she wanted to see more of what he could do; maybe train with him so she could learn to get around those chains of his.
After that was Octavia's and Amaris's fight. It had all started well until they moved to fighting with fists, then Amaris said what she did that really pissed off the polite and soft-spoken girl of the class.
Honestly, Cupie was kind of pissed off for her too.
"Wow, thought she was just a creepy freak, turns out she's a massive cunt too. What a bitch. Nomnomnomnom" Cupie spoke aloud to herself, tossing another piece of cheese into her mouth as she continued watching.
Her favorite fight had been watching Heisuke go against Gorilla woman. She really tore his ass a new one while saving said ass at the same time. Props to her for destroying him... Cupie also made a mental note to try to be friends with her.
Speaking of Gorilla girl, she also had a huge and epic battle with Jet that had her on the edge of her seat the entire time. Cupie also needed to pay Jet a visit so that she could ask him if everything was okay.
She felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. Cupie put the plate down for a moment and pulled the device out, checking her messages really quick. A devilish smile grew on her lips before she righted the chair and stood up. She filled the plate with a couple more sandwiches and some cheese before walking towards the location of which her ice friend had been last seen.
When she saw him, Cupie had a sweet smile on her lips. She took a seat down next to him, innocently offering the plate she had brought with her with a few bats of her eyelashes.
"Finger food?"
Octavia
After her battle, Octavia's heart wasn't really into the rest of the tournament. She would watch the playbacks of her classmates, though any that had Amaris on the screen she just couldn't bring herself to look at. Honestly, Octavia wanted to just get over it to not cause any classroom drama but... It reminded her of the people who looked down on her for being disabled, the people who believed she was lying about being blind, and just using it to get attention or more notoriety as an opera singer, and the people who told her she could never be a Hero due to her blindness. Amaris's words really shouldn't have mattered, but... the way it was said so nonchalantly to her, it made Octavia wonder if Amaris even cared about people with disabilities, or if she had said worse things in the past.
She decided that associating with Amaris was far more troublesome than she needed. Only under life and death situations would she consider Amaris a comrade, but for now, she meant nothing.
Octavia watched the next battles, seeing one person in particular on the screen had her spring out of her seat. One of the new transfers who she had yet to meet because of circumstances. Coincidences always seemed to keep her from meeting one of the new transfers, and now that she saw who exactly it was, a rush of emotions went through her but she did her best to control them.
It was unfortunate he lost, but, she would await his arrival anxiously.
Ichirou
He stopped by the locker room, rummaging through his belongings to grab a few (tournament pre-approved) painkillers and a new shirt since his matches nearly tore through the one he had on now. However, the shirts he could have sworn he brought were no longer there. Hadn't he brought them? Did he forget?
Fuck.
Ichirou looked over his shirt; it was barely hanging on due to ice and fire damage with some of his chest being exposed. Hmm... Well, if he ran into someone else about his size, he could ask if they had something. For now, he wanted to go check up on Adelaide and see how she was doing. He figured she may not be taking her Round 1 loss that well, and wanted to make sure she wasn't feeling too down.
Once he'd gotten everything out of the way, he went out to find her.
Since he was still participating, he hadn't gotten the chance to watch all the fights, but he would surely look back on the ones he missed and see his classmates in action.
As he heard steps approaching, Masaru opened one narrowed eye to gaze at whomever was approaching him now. Seeing it was Cupie appearing from nowhere and sitting down next to him, he could predict where it was going to go next and he let out an internal sigh of aggravation. Somehow, he felt Charlotte had something to do with this—that, or the pink ones were some kind of hive mind that operated exclusively in toying with him.
To his surprise though, she had seated next to him with a platter of food, offering him some with a kind smile. That was—suspicious. Did she really bring him food from the participants room?
Opening both eyes and turning to face her, his expression was that of surprise before he cautiously took a sandwich from the plate.
"...Thanks," He said simply, taking a bite of the food and choosing to believe it wasn't sabotaged in some way. "So are you delivering food now?"
Cupie was nice but—he wasn't quite sure if she was miraculously find him separated from everyone else and bring him a plate of food nice. Still, he would give her the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps she was bringing food to those still receiving care from their fights, like Jet. Masaru'd been beaten up quite a bit, but for now he just had some scratches and bandages on his face to physically show for it.
"I saw your fight... Can't say I expected that asshat to be here," Masaru grumbled, not very enthusiastic for some of their new classmates. "So you're fine then?"
Obviously she was fine enough to walk around and slap the crap out of Heisuke but—Still, a steamroller and then a building in the next round. Talk about not pulling punches.
She smiled kindly, watching as he took a sandwich from the plate, grabbing a sandwich herself and eating it. Cupie made a few 'nomnomnom' noises as she ate then swallowed the food, seeing that Masaru had left himself spread Eagle open to be made fun of. She couldn't help it; she had to take the bait.
"Nah, I thought you'd want something to get the taste of balls out of your mouth. Keheheheheh" Cupie snickered to herself. "No but seriously, I actually came to see how you were... and maybe fuck with you a little bit."
At the mention of her fight, Cupie pouted angrily. "Yeah; motherfucker threw a damn steamroller at me. Can't believe he even got accepted, much less put in the Hero course... I honestly thought he would have found his own way to go through his vigilante bullshit instead of enrolling at UA."
Taking a bite, Masaru physically froze with an expression of annoyance at Cupie's retort. Of course the intentions weren't that innocent. His scowl intensifying slightly, Masaru began to chew again, but grumpily.
"You're a few minutes late, the midget beat you to it," He grumbled aloud. "How thoughtful."
Grumpily retorting to her first statement, Masaru answered her other. "It looks worse than it is. I'm just scuffed up a bit."
It's not like he was a novice to bruises and injuries, especially as of late. It seemed like one after the other he was only incurring losses. Even in an environment and against an enemy where he didn't have to worry about his quirk's drawback, he still got his ass handed to him. It really didn't help how the fight progressed either.
"He's going to be a pain in the ass, but it's honestly probably best he's here. I was worried he was going to go pick a fight he can't win like an idiot. The teachers probably have a better chance of getting through to him, or at least preparing him," Masaru stated with a sigh. "Those villains really scared Charlotte for a while, and their capabilities are fairly similar. If he did go the vigilante route, he'd be dead already, if he could even find them."
That said, Masaru couldn't say he was really happy about the boy being in the class. Some of the newbies seemed fine, but there were a couple in the group that seemed like they were repeats of Lucien, though Lucien at least tried to keep to himself. Heisuke he was sure wouldn't, whether he had the intention of making friends or not.
"Besides, someone needs to teach him how to fight aside from throwing construction equipment and toppling buildings... That's kind of overboard..."
