Murder Game XIV: Monokuma's Awakening

Junko looked delighted that Kyoko had found her strength. She giggled sweetly as her hands rubbed at the sleeves of her shirt. "Oh, Kyoko~ Are you trying to fill a certain ahoge-boy's shoes right now? That's cute... that's so cute! Still, you're just so much more obtuse than him! You and I both know that the least boring thing in existence is despair. Humans become so unpredictable once you factor in despair! I can't even guess the outcome of this trial..."

Junko took in a deep breath, as if she was taking in a pleasant smell. "... Isn't that so exciting? Anything could happen! You could escape from dear Mother's clutches or you could all become her vessels for all eternity! It is only in this arena of despair that such destinies become two sides of the same coin, gal pal!"

She paused to hear what Wanda had to say, though she only looked like she was mildly listening.

"Yeah, I guess you might have a point. You're certainly the more despairing to look at of the two of us. But this isn't a pity party. Despair isn't about that. You're the queen of chaos all right, which only goes to explain why I can't seem to predict anything you do. That whole thing where you contacted the outside world...? Amazing! I didn't see it coming at all! You're a total anomaly, all thanks to despair. You choosing hope is only another facet of despair... it controls you more than you realize!"

Jude had lost the conversation with Junko a long time ago, so instead he focused on the others. To Jack Frost he said, "yeah, like Honda said, we found a note leading us to the bunker in the jacket."

"The other guys on security could access the tapes as well," Stan said. "As for tampering with 'em... I don't know. You'd have to be somewhat familiar with the security systems, I think. I guess if you've seen one, you've seen most of 'em."

Holder shrugged. "Yeah, she could. Hard to forget a face as handsome as mine, after all. I went in between that missing half hour and you'll find me exiting after eleven."

"I can confirm he was there. For some period of time."

"So...we don't know for sure what happened during that missing time. But something was definitely up, otherwise it wouldn't have needed to be deleted. Say, how much have you worked since the nightof Jefferson's death, Stan?"

It would be one thing to figure out who had enough time to go out and kill Jefferson. Another thing, though, was figuring out who had that jacket. "Say, since the back room doesn't have tapes, are there tapes that show people entering or exiting that area? Maybe we can see who went inside before we investigated that area!"

At the question of the safe that was found, Yurick would turn to Victoria.

"From what I remember, no, we didn't." he answered. So much had happened that day he almost forgot about it. But, if he had missed something and someone else from the group had opened it then he must of missed that somehow.

Then again, he had been a bit distracted at the time.

"Though, I think some others from our group paid more attention to the safe at the time." he added with a sigh, placing a hand on his hip after giving a small shrug in apology to Victoria.

He was curious about what was in the safe but at the same time he could care less. : |

Darv lifts his head, his titanic form heaving slightly as he stops slouching against one of the walls.
"What about someone who kills every single day? What about someone who's lost the thrill of destruction?" The knight's eyes narrow as he speaks "Can he still feel despair at all?"

"Can a man who has lost everything he once had, who has come to terms with his path in life still feel the despair you romanticize? Because so far...Nothing you've said has moved me."

"If this is all your 'despair' has to offer. Then I am not impressed."

The unmoving guise of the knight had returned. But as convincing as it might be, there were some who no doubt knew the weakness beneath his steel skin. Still, right now he had to be brave, he had to weather this challenge to continue serving his newfound purpose.

"You think I have lost to the despair?" Darv asks, chuckling gently "If that was the case, I would have crushed your skull the moment you came back from the dead."
The knight shakes his head as he leans against the wall once more, his bravery in the face of the impending threat of despair untouched by the words that tried to convince him he'd lost long before he even arrived in this land. It was impossible, Darv had simply embraced his true calling in life, as any good man would. He was good at killing, so he made money doing it, was there truly any way that this 'Despair' had swayed his actions?
"It is only natural a person embrace their true path in life in the end. It has nothing to do with despair. I am a killer, it is my destiny to kill. Just as it is your destiny to be a thorn in this so called Queen of Despair's side"

Even though he remained stubborn in his words, he began to wonder if perhaps the witch was right, if maybe he'd let the despair get to him. He didn't wish to return to his family, he was content to live without the heartache of finding his wife remarried, and his son fully grown.

The knight grew silent, thoughtful, perhaps even a little sorrowful. Had he really lost to the despair all those years ago?
Did his armour shield him from the blades of his foes, or did it lock away his emotions, and hide his scars?

Sliding down the wall slowly the knight sits, his back pressed against it as his heavy fur mantle hung over half of his form. He slips a hand into his pocket, withdrawing his ring once more, looking at it for a long moment.
Looking back to Wanda, the knight takes a deep breath, the tears welling in his eyes hidden by the shadow cast by his thick steel helmet. But even if you couldn't see the tears, it was impossible to hide the slightly shakiness in his voice.

"Have your wounds started healing yet?"

Moving herself towards safe, Wanda would wave her hand, the lock of the safe would unlock.

"Look at that? It seems I have a magical touch."

"Surely that's not the only way to open the safe, though?"

Honda scratched his neck, trying to recall. "Well, there was no damage to the fabric itself, but there were two thingsin there-Jefferson's business card and an address that led to his secret bunker. Kinda like whoever left the jacket wanted to expose the guy for who he really was, as if they knew we were gonna be there...."

Oh. That...that gave Honda a rather worrying idea. "Er...Horne, are you and Stan the only ones cleared to access the tapes? If so, is it the type of thing anyone can tamper with? "You think I have lost to the despair?" Darv asks, chuckling gently "If that was the case, I would have crushed your skull the moment you came back from the dead."
The knight shakes his head as he leans against the wall once more, his bravery in the face of the impending threat of despair untouched by the words that tried to convince him he'd lost long before he even arrived in this land. It was impossible, Darv had simply embraced his true calling in life, as any good man would. He was good at killing, so he made money doing it, was there truly any way that this 'Despair' had swayed his actions?
"It is only natural a person embrace their true path in life in the end. It has nothing to do with despair. I am a killer, it is my destiny to kill. Just as it is your destiny to be a thorn in this so called Queen of Despair's side"

Even though he remained stubborn in his words, he began to wonder if perhaps the witch was right, if maybe he'd let the despair get to him. He didn't wish to return to his family, he was content to live without the heartache of finding his wife remarried, and his son fully grown.

The knight grew silent, thoughtful, perhaps even a little sorrowful. Had he really lost to the despair all those years ago?
Did his armour shield him from the blades of his foes, or did it lock away his emotions, and hide his scars?

Sliding down the wall slowly the knight sits, his back pressed against it as his heavy fur mantle hung over half of his form. He slips a hand into his pocket, withdrawing his ring once more, looking at it for a long moment.
Looking back to Wanda, the knight takes a deep breath, the tears welling in his eyes hidden by the shadow cast by his thick steel helmet. But even if you couldn't see the tears, it was impossible to hide the slightly shakiness in his voice.

"Have your wounds started healing yet?"

Well, regardless of that, the safe was open now. Chikage attempted to peer into the now open safe.

Wanda watch quietly as she noticed she hit a nerve, It wasn't her attention to hurt the man, but she was going to speak her mind. Nodding somberly, Wanda addressed the knight.

"I'm fine. It's like I was never was attacked. "

It was so quite after that, You could hear pin drop.


"Maybe not the only way, but it was the quickest."

"But what you're describing isn't really about you, is it? The ones you kill, what about them? I bet they had no idea what was to happen to them! What if one turned the tables on you~ What if they killed you? In self-defense, surely, that's all it was, officer! But then they've taken a life, where hope would have left nothing a drab and booooring state of indifference. Lame, don't you think? I mean, that you're even arguing at all tells me you've got some excitement in you, huh?"

As for the safe, Jude pulled out the documents and showed them off to the group. "There are notes here... about where his money was going and his expenses. Nothing we didn't already know... Oh! Here we go, he wrote about meetings he had scheduled!

That night... he had a meeting planned with... someone called 'W' around nine. Then a meeting with someone called 'H' around ten..."

Jude cupped his chin in thought. "But it had to be one of you... maybe one of the others ambushed him before the meeting, but that seems to stretch my disbelief."

"As I said before, I had no reason to cause Mark harm. He was a frequent visitor of the casino and he paid well. I had little concern for his activities outside of my business."

"Are you implying I had to have done it, then? I barely knew the guy. I'm from out of town, so I don't know anything about any of this."

Hmm, something was amiss, but Jack Frost found it much harder to tell exactly what it was than before... It was difficult to say who exactly was the one to have some beef with Jefferson, hmm... Then, he suddenly remembered that Jefferson might have scheduled a meeting with the Mayor that night, but then again, it might have been Jamie, seeing as his last name started with a "W", but he decided to be doubly sure.

"Sooo... Do any of you know the Mayor's First name... And last name by chance? Or maybe just his initials?" He asked.

Though it was unlikely, it could have been that he had scheduled to meet with the Mayor, possibly for some shady dealings at around 10, but never made it?
