Marcus Wright was about to console and comfort Yuka for the umpteenth time, but he was interrupted by a familiar voice. "Marie?" he said, as he saw her. It definitely was her, he thought she was dead, but despite any doubts that lingered in his subconscious, his eyes and brain were telling him, she was the genuine article.

He walked over to her and hugged her. "How is this possible?" he whispered into her ear. And, in that position, it was only then he noticed there was a physical change in her. "Nice wings."

@Gummi Bunnies
She laughed, hugging him back. "They took my soul and rebuilt it. I am a reaper now." He mentioned her wings and she wrinkled her nose. "I wish they were white, though. Not black." She was going to tell him about everything that had happened until she remembered it herself. The energy she had been giving off changed, and she became quiet. She took a deep breath, forcing herself not to ruin the moment. "What happened after I died?" She paused. "Again."

Emma Frost looked at Thanos. "Ah," she said, remembering his face and name from news and files when she access to such things at Westchester. "One who needs no introduction from me, I suppose. Refreshing in a way." She continued to walk, without stopping. Part her liked it, an enemy of her enemies. The other part just said... enemy.

"I suppose an unusual situation requires unusual tactics," she mused, "so, very well, an alliance it is."

@Jeremi @Klutzy Ninja Kitty

Thanos would nod solemnly. "You and your kind are not strangers for me. With our powers returned for the time being we have a better chance to thwart our foes."

"Understood", Emma Frost said as she nodded. This was going to be an uncomfortable alliance for her, she thought.

It could be worse, the thought went into her mind. She could be partnered with Jean Grey.

Marcus Wright just held Marie in his arms for a while. For some reason, he felt his heart pounding harder the longer he kept her in his arms. Her story, about being rebuilt, seemed to strike a familiar tone with him, though, he could not recall why that was so. "About what happened here, it's a lot. Some other got killed, others left behind, some people actually got into fights and killed each other. A lot of... war, is the best way I could say it."

He looked again at the black wings. "So, you're one of them now? Does that mean you'll be serving their purpose as well?" he asked.

Marie shrugged, her arms still wrapped around him. "I-I guess. I've done a mission for them already." She wasn't sure if she was ready to talk about what she had done. It still hurt to even think about, let alone say. "It's so surreal. Everything," she muttered. She clutched him tightly. He was like the anchor pulling her back.

"No, she won't, Marcus," Minato stepped up, watching the older man closely, "Let's just say the Conductor isn't on anyone's side but his own and the traitors. He had us and the other reapers track down the true master of the games, the Composer named Joshua, so he can take over the games. Now the Beast has revealed his true colors, leaving us with a mutual enemy in his group. I suggest we work together to survive," while he didn't know how well Marcus could fight, he seemed strong enough to hold his own with the traitors. Plus, if he was a traitor himself, Minato would have him close at hand to eliminate him.

@Everyone entering the hospital

John White's voice could be heard:

They came into the hospital and I didn't even have to invite them. Wonderful...

haunted_hospital_hallway_by_blastndamnation-d3fpnwn.jpg

The group entered the hospital only to find a very dimly lit hallway. As they explored the hospital, they found it to be empty save for an elevator.

There are five floors of this hospital, players. The elevator will slowly go up, stopping on each floor one by one until you arrive at the top. When you arrive at the top, we'll talk.

The little noise wolf pup walked along slowly, sadly keeping his head down. He trailed behind the players, frightened to approach anyone.

Captain Jack Sparrow walked along with the others, still holding the little girl who was finally starting to wake up.

"Wh-Where are we?" she asked, looking around.

She gasped, however, spotting Rocket with them.

"C-Can it be!? I thought she was--"

Those who have recently died awake on the roof of the hospital. John White is standing before them.

"Welcome back," he told them.

Those who had recently died recognize him as the man who had killed Uzuki and Kariya, however, they have yet to learn he is responsible for letting the arch demon into the reapers' game.

Marcus thought about the possibilities. Was Marie being used by the reapers to infiltrate the ranks of the game players? He didn't really want to think of that possibility, he could only think of how nice it was to have this woman in his arms. He didn't want to let her go, after feeling some guilt about her earlier "death". And, the feel and touch of her body against him felt... very nice.

He would try to distract her from the negative thoughts though, at least temporarily. He asked, "can you fly with those wings?"

Rocket turned hearing her name. She was looking around noticing that she was once more it seemed somewhere like home she figured it had to be a hospital however. When she had turned she saw Jack Sparrow and Coco when she realized that it was Coco she smiled. "Coco!" She exclaimed excited to see the young reaper again. She went over to them grinning. "I hoped to see you again." She stated.

Round 7: The Price We Paid

Bloodshed.

For those who wanted to avoid it, they would be disappointed.

If anyone craved it, their desires were granted.

a-mikasa_ackerman-1565590.jpg

The group inside the maze of the garden found themselves shocked to discover Big Sister, whom they had believed to be their friend and ally, had another identity as Mikasa Ackerman. In a bloody rampage, this traitor ended the lives of many players. She killed Susan, Chrom, Hurly, Wander, and Guy Noir.

Shiki Tohno broke into the reapers' game and attempted to stop the battle between Mikasa, Chandra, and the others, only to watch Mikasa's inevitable death.

Mikasa was the first traitor to perish.

She wasn't the last either.

Teresa, desperate to avenge Ash and save her remaining companion Jenny, challenged Ryu Keiko. Their battle ended up being to the death; both of them died.

The players within the game weren't the only ones facing challenges either...

...

...Meanwhile, with the afterlife group...

Tokyu+Toyoko+Line.jpg

The group of players who found themselves dead were tasked with locating a young man named Joshua who--according to the reapers--had broken into the world of the game and was working together with the demon who had been causing problems for their game. Minato single handedly captured Joshua and chose to deliver him to the reapers along with Marie. When they arrived back inside the room from which they had come, Konishi was there to greet them.

konishi03-1.jpg

"Excellent work, my reaper recruits. I can hardly believe you've actually managed to do it. I suppose I underestimated your strength."

She stepped forward and took Joshua from them, shaking him hard to wake him up.

"Time to talk, intruder."

twewy06.png

Josh grunted and opened his eyes, glaring at Konishi. "N-Ngh, you and the other reapers are fools, Konishi. I'm not the one who is assisting the demon. I'm on your side, although I don't expect you to believe it without proof. If all of you are so very desperate for proof, I guess I have no choice but to give it. I want to speak with The Conductor. He will be able to tell you that I'm not the intruder. Let me talk to John..."

Konishi blinked in surprise, wondering how he knew her name or even about The Conductor.

"Actually, I was planning on calling him. He was the one who wanted us to hunt for you in the first place."

Joshua's eyes widened. "He called you? But that can't be... he... knows about me. He knows what I'm doing. He wouldn't attack his ally; it doesn't make sense..."

The young man shot a look over to the others, almost begging for help. "Minato, Marie, please..."

Konishi shrugged. "I honestly don't believe a word you're saying right now. You're likely just making up some story in order to escape, but I'll play along; I'll tell him to come here."

...

"No need."

A new voice rung out in the room, a new, yet familiar voice. Although, those of the afterlife wouldn't recognize the voice. After all, they hadn't been around to catch a glimpse of The Conductor when he murdered Uzuki and Kariya earlier on.

The man stepped out in full view of the others.

1890045-john_white_is_the_beast.jpg

"I thought I'd pop in for a surprise visit to see how you were coming along with what I asked of you, Miss Konishi. It appears you were quite successful. Before the boy fills anyone's heads with more lies, I'll ask you to hand him over to me."

"John!" Joshua hissed, glaring at the man. "What the hell are you doing!? Let me go! you know fully well I'm not the intruder who broke into this game in order to make an opening for that demon to cause so much destruction. Why would I do such a thing to my own game. You know very well who I am."

"Of course I do, boy."

John's hand suddenly morphed into a rock-hard, glowing red fist. With his first, John punched Joshua so hard in the face blood began to drip from his nose.

Joshua groaned. "If you know who I am, then why are you doing this?"

The man smirked. "Well, since my plan is coming together quite nicely I feel there really is no reason to hide what exactly is going on anymore. I'm sure everyone has been confused for quite some time. Why don't I just lay all the cards out on the table?" he said with a smirk. "You're not responsible for letting the demon invade the game." He gripped onto Joshua's chin, forcing the young man to look at him.

"I am."

He chuckled. "Don't look so surprised either. You picked me as your second in command, to be your Conductor, but I only ever accepted for one reason. I need your power. Every reaper knows that the true creator of the game, The Composer--you--will lose his power to the person who kills him. But you've been impossible to kill in the past. I've even looked into other multiverses were people like Neku Sakuraba have attempted to kill you and have failed. However, after a long time of searching I've finally found a way. There is a demon out there... an arch demon named Akibahara who intends to rule the multiverse. I told him that I want the power of The Composer for myself, so he promised to help me get it in exchange for me helping him when I obtained the power. The Composer has the power to raise the dead. So, as pay for his help, I will raise an army of the dead to fight on his side."

"I allowed the demon into this game so he could search for your weakness, Joshua. I knew it would take some time though, and I didn't want anyone to find out what I was up to while this demon was searching or his search could've been halted. So I recruited a few players from the reapers' game to help me distract the players and reapers by slowly killing off their allies. It's a shame that Ryu Keiko and Mikasa Ackerman have been discovered, however, there are still two more traitors who have yet to be discovered and are still helping me. But anyhow, enough time has passed. Akibahara has told me the secret of how to kill you and I intend to do it, Composer," he said, gripping Joshua by the throat.

Joshua glared daggers at the man. "The other players will try to stop you. You're ruining their reapers' game and I doubt they'll take kindly to it."

John chuckled again. "They can try if they would like, but I'm far too powerful to stop now. Akibahara has granted me more power in order to accomplish this task. All of you are doomed."

Joshua struggled in attempt to pull away from the man. "What do you even need power like that for? Where you came from as a human, you were The Beast, the most powerful being in the world."

John grumbled. "And yet I was still killed by that fool, Cole Macgrath. All I wanted was for the world to be full of conduits--superhumans--and for the average humans to die. But Cole killed me instead of embracing what could have been. With your powers, I shall raise all of the dead superhumans Cole caused to die along with me. Together, we will create a new era where the living will bow before the dead! Now, witness my power!"

John lifted a hand, creating a black hole in the ceiling above the group. Before anyone could move or say anything else, John grabbed Joshua and jumped through the black hole. As for the others, the hole began to swallow them all..

...Meanwhile, with reaper's game group...

The group was quiet, trying to cope with the mindf*ck troubles they had faced earlier.

Asha and Crono moved forward to examine the body of Mikasa, finding a red pin--the mark of a traitor--on her body along with a note.

twewy___pin__228___red_skull_by_thewolfendswithyou-d7hrczz.jpg

The note reads:

My name is John White. I am what is called The Conductor, or second in command, of the Reapers' Game. The first in charge is known as The Composer. He is the most powerful reaper in existence and is the one with the power to bring others back to life. But we'll get back to him later. As I'm sure you all know, you've been chosen to take part in this game. However, before the game starts, I have gathered you all here together because each and every one of you has agreed to work undercover for me, slowly gaining the trust of the other players and killing them off. I intend to corrupt this game--with the help of a demon friend of mine--while the traitors distract the other reapers and players. Nobody else will know what is going on. And my reason for corrupting the game is this: to weaken and kill the Composer. The one who kills the composer gains his powers. With his powers, I will bring all of you back to life as thanks for helping me with no strings attached. I won't be like this pompous man who thinks you must be judged by playing some game in order to come back to life. I'll revive you for helping me. And I'll give you anything else you could desire in return for helping me as well. It's time we of the afterlife took more power for ourselves

After reading the note, the players glanced down at the palms of their hands.

Thirty seconds remained on their clocks until they were to be erased...

Their battle with Mikasa had cost them all of their time.

The end had come.

If any of the players were had friends or people they cared about, they hugged them and waited, watching their clocks count down toward zero...

...5...4...3...2...1...

The players were surprised.

Each and every one of their clocks were stopped as if something had paused the reapers' game altogether. Looking up, they could then see that a strange, black hole had appeared in the sky. Before they could question it, the hole began to suck everyone inside of it like a vacuum cleaner drawing in dirt.

The group blacked out.

When they awoke, they found themselves in a giant, rundown city they didn't recognize at all. They appeared right next to a big Hospital building. Even those who had previously been in the afterlife (Minato, Marie, Pyrrha, Jodie, Elizabeth, and The Joker) were bag with the players.

A sense of dread filled the group.

John was responsible for bringing them to this place. It had nothing to do with the reapers.

Tomorrow, the new afterlife group and the city will be updated! For now, please feel free to interact with each other and enter the hospital!
Given on what had occurred to them... Yuka was obviously terrified, staying close to those that she had known for a time, such as Ciel and Marcus. While she had a trembling voice, quivering with the urge to cry in fear of all of this right now, she spoke under her trembling whimpers,"... I want to go home... why do so many people have to die?... it's not right..."

@Verite @Wedge Antilles
"Where am I...?" Minato choked out, looking around the hospital. His mind was overtaxed, trying to process what they had seen and heard. Joshua... was the Composer, the person who made the games. He's the one who gave us second chances. He was only trying to help us. That means... We were betrayed. An animalistic growl was the only sign that Minato was upset, but inside, he was furious as memories as Ikutsuki came to mind. Just to benefit themselves, both of them! I can't let the Beast win, not after what he's done to us and Joshua!

Minato's mind began making plans, contemplating ways to defeat the Beast's powers. He would need others to help him, not just his sword. Time to get Ciel and Marie on my side, along with Rocket and Yuka. I can trust them better than the others so they'll be a good start.

The World is Tumbling Down

Darkness. That's what Ciel and Shiki saw, but for different reasons.

Ciel was still somewhat blind, so without shadows and lights to aid her vision, all she could see was black. Then again, perhaps it didn't matter either way when she was unconscious, so when she came to, regaining consciousness in the process, it would take a while for her to adjust, before regaining her eyesight. Well, as much eyesight as she possessed, anyway.

Shiki's world, however, had turned completely black. He wanted to stay forever. Or at the very least, he wanted to remain with Mikasa's body for just a bit longer. This marked the second time he had lost a person he loved because he was too weak. He was weak. He was weak. The phrase droned on and on in his mind, haunting him like it did when he killed ________. Some might describe him as masochistic, repeating the process with Mikasa, but as stated before, he was not a normal boy.

However, Shiki knew that he had a job to do. He thought he had lost Ciel, and now that he was here in this odd world, he was more determined than ever to bring her back alive in order to make sure she wasn't lost. It was the only emotion he felt that could rival the emptiness, the hollowness within his soul. He couldn't stray from his path for those he had left behind.

I just need one thing to go right... Just once. Just this once.

Mikasa... I love you. Now and forever.

He stood distantly, but close enough to Ciel and Yuka, pocketing his hands as he looked at nothing. The nothing that he felt. Ciel seemed to be busy with others, but that was okay. The Counter Force had informed him of her "price," among other things, but he never imagined it to be true. Of course, with the way she was acting, how... different she seemed to be, maybe it wasn't so hard to believe. Shiki wanted to deny it, but he could feel no drive to. At least she's here... for now, he reasoned.

Meanwhile, Ciel, tending to Yuka, patted her head in a somewhat awkward attempt to comfort her. She didn't exactly know what to say, as dying and killing were natural to her. They were as natural as breathing. But even so, this odd feeling nagged at the back of her consciousness. A determination to protect a smile, even if it was nowhere to be found.

"I'll bring you home. I'll make sure of it," Ciel spoke to Yuka. That was all she could think of, but she at least hoped it was enough, "Now, where did Mr. Wright go, I wonder...?" She mumbled, beginning to stumble around until she saw the shadows of Marcus, Marie, and... a certain familiar figure with a familiar voice that she recalled.

That can't be... Is it really? She thought in disbelief as she stumbled towards the third shadow. A familiar young man with a smile she wanted to protect for some odd reason. A familiar young man who wanted to protect her smile for some odd reason.

Making her way over to Minato, Ciel nearly tripped on a rock, bumping into him. With her head on his chest, her arms felt like they were moving on their own, wrapping themselves around him.

"... You're back," she spoke softly, her voice showing a faint trace of relief, "It's been a while. Hasn't it, Minato-kun?"

"No, she won't, Marcus," Minato stepped up, watching the older man closely, "Let's just say the Conductor isn't on anyone's side but his own and the traitors. "Thanks", Marcus Wright said simply, as he continued to hold Marie in his arms.

So... This is it, huh? This is what it's like.. To be dead... she thought, idly. Unlike during her death, Teresa felt no pain. In fact, she felt nothing at all. Just.. Emptiness. Peace. Like she was doing the backfloat and drifting down a peaceful stream, leading her to the edge of the Earth. To oblivion. To.. nothingness.

Was this really what death felt like? Drifting through this empty void, never to be- to truly feel -again? Was this what she'd be doomed to for the rest of eternity? In all honesty, she didn't think she had it in her to care. She'd completed her goal.. Fulfilled her promise. What more was there for her to do? After all... Nobody back 'home' wanted her. Not after she'd been turned on them by WICKED. There was nothing left for her.. In this world or another.

But then, something crossed her mind..

tumblr_n830kx3mj71rc44lao2_500.gif

She had a new promise to keep. Her destiny had been rewritten yet again, and she felt this overwhelming urge- need -to come back.. While moments ago, she'd felt nothing at all. God, I screwed up again.. I need.. Another... Chance....

And just like that.. Her final wish came true.

All of a sudden, Teresa felt this odd sensation. Like.. Like she was being teleported out of this empty void.. Torn apart and rebuilt, molecule by molecule. What the hell was happening to her...? Had the gods above truly granted her wish? Was she getting a third chance at life, another chance to make things right? It appeared so.

Suddenly, not dissimilarly to the way she'd first awoken in the Box back in the Glade, Teresa jolted awake, panting for breath. How could this be...? Had it really just been a sleep she'd drifted into, like the Frank fellow she'd seen as she passed treated it as? That had to be it.. Nothing else would make sense! But that didn't matter.. She had a goal to achieve. She blantantly disregarded the welcome, looking to John with determination and eagerness burning in her eyes. "Where are we?" she asked, hurriedly.

It was only then she took notice of the others around her.

Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she looked to Ryu. Whether or not this was a good or bad reaction was unclear. "You.. You're alive?" There was a pause. "I'm alive? We're alive?"

Not much in a good mood at the moment to speak, Yuka could tell that Ciel was trying to lighten her up, try to deal with her apparent depression to keep moving forward. So in response, she gave a simple... "okay."

However... she realized something once she noticed that Ciel had gone off to check for something. Wait... that name, she was able to hear a trace of it. Getting up from the ground where she was previously fighting back tears, Yuka began to walk over to where Ciel was, spotting the other figure. While she didn't say anything, there was signs that she was beginning to recognize something familiar about this one, but yet, she couldn't bring her finger on it...

The only word Minato could find for the moment was a simple, "Eh?" He was trapped in someone's arms, unable to get loose from the hold. For a moment, panic washed over him as he thought he was being attacked by a traitor. Already, doubts of failing his friends raced through his mind, clouding rational thought and pushing him to summon Onikiri again.

Her voice swept those thoughts away. For a moment, he paused in shocked relief as he realized she was relieved to see him before returning the hug. It doesn't matter, she's here and that's enough for me. "Yeah, I am, Ciel-chan. I'm... glad to be back with you," a affectionate smile took control of his features as he took comfort in Ciel's touch, "It felt too long in my mind."

A quiet sigh followed his words and he held her closer to keep from breaking down, "I'm sorry I wasn't able to kill Ryu during the execution duel. I shouldn't have made a promise I couldn't keep, especially to you..."

Looking up from Ciel for a moment, Minato grinned at the sight of Yuka wearing his jacket, "I hope that old thing kept you warm, Yuka-chan. If so, I'm glad I was there for you in some way, little sister."

Ryou jumped away from the smirking Bakura, "aww it's over," the theif said pouting. "Go take a cold shower Bakura you horny Bastard," the white haired teen said.

Bakura laughed, "you enjoy it," he said smirking full on at his Hikari. The other teen rolled his eyes, "you where the one holding onto to me," Bakura added. "Ya but I wasn't having dirty thoughts," Ryou replied coldly.

"It's fine... Don't worry about that, you dummy," Ciel said. It was odd coming from her, a word as unrefined and casual like "dummy." Almost like she was loosening up. Like she was returning to a state that she had forgotten about.

"I was the one who couldn't protect you, but I suppose in the end, it doesn't matter as long as you're back. We'll have to try harder to keep our promises. Isn't that right, Minato-kun?" She asked in a gentle tone, slowly pulling away from him.

Shiki glanced back at Yuka and Ciel, stepping over to their general location, not wanting at least Ciel to wander too far off. He had barely spoken to her, but then again, he had only just arrived, and not with the best introduction. Shiki looked at Minato with empty, if not envious eyes. As if he was envious of the notion of happily reuniting with someone thought to have been lost.

She's lost her happy memories, and her happy demeanor... but it seems to be coming back to her, eh? He simply thought, pocketing his hands as he watched them quietly.

"M-M...Minato-kun!" Yuka stammered, her eyes widening in surprise. While she was that surprised that she couldn't even notice that he called her 'little sister,' she gave an excited squeal as she ran over to him with a tight hug. "I really missed you!! I... I thought..." Yuka cried out happily.

Coco didn't waste any time. She rushed over and quickly tackled Rocket in a hug.

"How can you be back!? I thought you were erased?!" she questioned, tears in her eyes.
