Personality:
Amira is a determined young lady with a seemingly iron heart and nerves of steel. This of course, is not true, but she likes to put up a brave front nearly constantly. She gets uncomfortable when conversations veer towards 'mushy' and 'sharing' and may come off as insensitive and brusque when she tries to avoid them. She can be impatient with those who aren't her superiors when she thinks they're stalling and procrastinating and will often go off without them if not ordered to do otherwise.
She can be very stubborn when she thinks that something is correct and is always sure of herself. She is also courageous and doesn't shy away from a frightening or awkward situation. When it comes to dealing with her superiors, she is quite polite and stone faced. With her friends, she likes to joke around and on rare occasions, involve herself in shenanigans, but she always makes sure not to go too far and attempts to be the voice of reason.
History:
On February 8th, 1994, Amira Mahmoud was born to Malik and Halah Mahmoud who immediately began micromanaging their daughter's life. They meant well, because they wanted her to be a brilliant and capable young woman, but they failed to realized that their managing of their daughter's life depressed her. From kindergarten to middle school, Amira's extracurricular activities were chosen by her parents and she spent the majority of her weekends and breaks studying or getting tutored. She didn't have many friends outside of the kids whose parents were friends with her parents and those kids were either as miserable as Amira or bubbly overachieves that she couldn't stand.
In high school, Amira's parents decided to let Amira choose a club for herself since she was older and more responsible. Amira chose cross country track and for awhile she was happy. She made more friends and her parents got her a cellphone (for emergencies) that she used to talk to them all the time. Amira wasn't particularly good at the sport but she was average and her parents didn't see athletics as something to gush over so they didn't penalize her for not winning anything. However one night at the end of her sophomore year, a bunch of kids on the track team hosted a party that Amira couldn't attend due to her curfew, however during the party multiple kids got drunk and the police were called and some people, including a few of Amira's friends, got arrested. When Amira's parents found out, they made her quit the team and join the robotics club instead. So once again Amira was surrounded on all sides by kids she didn't like too well and because she wasn't on the track team anymore, she didn't see her athlete friends anymore and eventually they drifted apart.
Amira graduated from her school as Salutatorian, something that annoyed her parents greatly but they were appeased when Amira was offered a full ride to NYU, if she majored in engineering. At first Amira was upset because although she was good at all things STEM, she didn't care for it as a career option, however her attitude changed when she found out that as an adult her parents couldn't micromanage her as much. However whenever she came home, they would jump down her throat about what classes she was taking and who she was associating with. Sometimes their inquisitions were so much that Amira would leave the house and jump on the first bus to anywhere and just wander around for hours, putting her phone on silent and enjoying her freedom. On one of these spontaneous excursions, Amira witnessed an event held by the Air Force and realized two things; One, they were fucking awesome and two, this was how she could get away from her parents forever.
So she made a call to NYU, dropped out and enlisted in the Air Force. When she returned home, she didn't tell her parents anything and when it was finally time to travel to Texas for basic training, she wrote a note detailing her recent actions and taped it to the fridge, then told her parents she was going back to school.
Basic training was grueling work, but Amira kept her head down and plowed through it, graduating on time. She received recognition for her determination and her helpfulness when it came to technical work. She was about to be deployed to Osan AFB when her commanding officer suggested that she be stationed at Andrews Air Force Base instead because a golden opportunity would arise soon and she would need to be in the states to obtain it. She could have never guessed that he was talking about the Mars Settlement Project.
Other:
Amira has a lock box filled with over a hundred unsent letters to her parents.
She was raised Muslim but does not practice or follow any of the guidelines.
She can't wait for when animals are cleared to live on Mars because she wants a dog.
She does not like celebrating her birthday and does not appreciate surprise parties.
Her middle name is Kyda.
Amira is Lawful Good.

Personality:
Noah is a pleasant man who is almost always good company. He loves to have stimulating and intelligent debates, but he'll also chat about silly things. He is anything but stagnant and appreciates a shifting environment, as long as the changes aren't too frequent. He possessed a creative mind that ponders on the most difficult subjects to the most simplistic.
When he's writing, he can become quite moody if the words aren't coming out the way he wants them to or if he can't figure out a good ending. During these moods, he resembles something akin to a petulant child and he'll snap at people if badgered too much. However when his bad mood has dissipated, he will apologize and try his best to show his regret for his actions or words.
Noah isn't the most organized or neat person, but he isn't the type to see order in chaos either, which can make him stressed and moody, but he still won't organize his area to avoid the problem in the future. Noah can also be a bit passive when it comes to taking action, which can hurt him in the long run when things need to be done.
History:
Noah was born in Ireland to wealthy parents. He was the fourth of seven children and a twin. His parents were quite affectionate as long as things went their way and they didn't have high hopes for their children, because they believed they would take on the roles meant for them when the time came. It's not as though they didn't believe in their children, they just didn't expect them to stray from their family line. Noah's father had his own firm and had positions reserved for his children once they graduated from college and Noah's mother had her own business and had positions reserved in case her children didn't want to go into law. The Prentice's did not appreciate deviation and constantly informed their children, that if they wanted to stay in the family and have access to the family's wealth, they were to pick either law or business as a permanent career.
Noah was quite fine with this because to him, it was like having a golden safety net and all he had to do to keep the net intact was do what his parents wanted him to do. This mindset stuck with him until he entered secondary school where he found out about the joys of writing. His school hosted a wide variety of contests for varying subjects but one of their biggest contests was the monthly writing contest. The prize was usually to have a luncheon with an author but Noah didn't really care about that, what he cared about was winning and giving his parents something to be proud of. So he entered the writing contests for the first time and lost because he didn't put enough effort into his story. Learning from this, Noah sought to develop his initial story more over the next few months and somewhere along the line he became heavily invested in creative writing. By the time he was ready to compete in the writing contest again, he had written a fantastical short story about magic and royalty and love! He entered his story, won and had a luncheon with an author who changed his life and view of the world. The author praised his creativity and the seemingly endless boundaries to his imagination and encouraged him to write more and look into publication.
As Noah grew, he wrote more short stories and even began working on a full fledged book. Due to his family's wealth, he was able to publish his short stories with no problem and they weren't that popular but most of his peers read them and his mother praised them almost religiously. And that was when things went awry. Misreading the pride of his parents, Noah confessed to them that he was no longer interested in law or business and instead wanted to write stories for a living. They balked at the notion and he and his father had a serious talk about the difference between a hobby and a career.
When graduation rolled around, Noah enrolled in Yale University to major in law, and although most of his time was preoccupied with that, he still found time to develop his book. He graduated from Yale with a masters in law, but instead of going to graduate school immediately he took a break so he could travel the world. His parents didn't mind because they thought he should see the world before he settled down in Dublin forever.
Having seen the more popular areas of Europe during his childhood already, Noah headed to the United States to gain a feel of the country and see all of the famous landmarks. As he traveled, his worldview was opened up to so many new possibilities and he found that the more he was filled with awe, the more he could develop his book. Months passed and Noah found himself dreading having to return to Dublin and resign his existence to a life of law. And that's when tragedy struck. Noah received a call from his twin brother who told him that their parents and oldest siblings had been arrested and charged for tax evasion, and that the rest of their siblings were making themselves scarce, he suggested that Noah do the same before hanging up. Shocked, Noah found himself a permanent resident of the U.S as he didn't have the money to return home (the family account and subsequent cards had been frozen).
A few days later, Noah heard about the MARS project, and volunteered for it, as he was beginning to approach becoming homeless and didn't have anything to lose as he couldn't get in contact with his siblings who had gone radio silent.

Educational History: University of Sheffield
Desired Occupation: Language Professor
College Degrees: B.A in Translation
Notable Skills: Multilingual
Personality:
Rebecca is an adventurous woman who sees an opportunity in every journey. She's the type to pursue urban legends of whatever place she's visiting or stay for hours trying to get the perfect photo. She can be very critical towards others for being stingy or cautious to the point that her tone can come off as mocking.
She holds herself in high regard and finds it difficult to admit her own faults and when accused, she will debate the other person and most likely sneer at them. She is very self assured, so much that some might see her as arrogant...Which she kind of is. Contrary to this however, she is dependent on others and finds it hard to go it alone. She likes company and always tries to find a travel buddy if not a mate. When things go awry in her life, she usually seeks comfort from a friend and will cling to them until she gets back on her feet.
She is very lively and often in high spirits unless she is recovering from a break up or rejection. When in pursuit of love, Rebecca is horribly naive and often blindsided by her desire to be loved so badly that she doesn't realize the object of her love is put off by her or is pulling away. Unlike some who experience love, she does not reject one aspect of her life while engaging in romantic relations, and will keep in contact with friends.
History:
Having been unlucky all her life on Earth, Rebecca thought it only made sense to move her efforts to the next available place of romantic opportunity, outer-space.
When Rebecca was five years old, she gave Miles Owen, a boy who was mocked for having a nose like a pig's snout, a flower. She'd thought quite hard over this gift for many days and had given herself a stomach ache three days prior when she had struggled to decided whether she should given him a daisy or baby's breath. She'd decided on the daisy, and that day of school right before play time, she'd given it to him along with a wide smile, and in return he had wrinkled his little pig nose and tossed the flower to the side in favor of building a massive Lego tower which he promptly destroyed in the fashion that he had destroyed Rebecca's love.
When Rebecca was eleven, her mother ruined her chances at being Andrew Roman's girlfriend by marrying him and effectively making Andrew, Rebecca's new step father. Then three years later Rebecca's mother divorced Andrew, but before Rebecca could confess to her rekindled love interest, he moved to the states. Plus he was thirty seven years older than her.
In Year 9, Rebecca found her boyfriend Nicholas kissing her best friend, Louise in a broom closet, while feeling up her other best friend, Tony.
At graduation, Jamie, Rebecca's boyfriend of two years came out to the entire graduating class, parents and faculty.
In college Rebecca tried online dating only to be cat-fished six times (two of those times were by the same person).
And then finally, after graduating college, Rebecca met Oliver and they got engaged immediately. Oliver seemed to love all the things that Rebecca loved and he always agreed with what she said. They rarely had any arguments and he got along well with her family.
And then, on the day of their wedding...Oliver didn't show up.
Heartbroken and confused as to why this always happened to her, Rebecca packed her things and jumped on the first flight to the US, to join aunt in Washington D.C. On the plane ride, Rebecca made herself promise to never fall victim to love again and stay focused on her job as a translator. Then six months after living with her aunt, Stella and burying herself in work, Stella told her about NASA's MARS project. She told her that she was going to be on the PSMO team and that she should think about volunteering too, and just like that, the promise she had made to herself on the plane went AWOL.
However the day it came to board the ship to Mars, Stella got cold feet and backed out. Rebecca would was already on the ship at that point so she couldn't have backed out with her. But she wouldn't have anyways, because now she had...
A new chance.
Another chance at love.
On Mars, but hey, it could be worse.
Desired Offspring: Three
Other:
Rebecca does not like nicknames and will probably snap at you for calling her Becky or whatever.
She is allergic to cats.
Her middle name is Ashley.
Rebecca is a chaotic neutral.
She is an ugly crier and giggle snorts if something is really funny.

Personality: If you had to pick three words to describe, LJ, they would be 'happy go lucky'. It takes a lot to bring this girl down and even when a bad mood inevitably graces, her, she's quick to brush it past and push on. She's a stubborn girl with a heart of gold. She stands by her friends through thick and thin but also has a hard time giving them up. If she sees that she and a friend are growing apart, she will do anything within her power to keep them close, however as things sour, her attempts get more and more erratic, further damaging their relationship and pushing said friend away faster.
LJ has some privacy issues, in that, she does not believe in privacy if you're close enough. So if you're her friend for more than a month, she thinks it's perfectly okay to walk into your room naked and ask for a spare shirt or if she looks fat. She has zero issues with nudity and won't bat an eye at things most people would be self conscious about. LJ also has an iron stomach and it takes a lot to gross her out. She'll readily mix foods together that you wouldn't think of even putting on the same plate, and she'll consume it with gusto.
She can be very naive, because she likes to try and see the best in everyone and she doesn't like when people are upset with her. However if pushed enough or being able to realize that she's around a toxic person, she'll tear them a new one. Kind of. LJ is so sweet that even hearing a curse word makes her cringe, so she thinks of creative alternatives to the words she would use if she had a potty mouth.
