Nathan guessed that it was someone Kieara rather didn't speak to, based on her face expression. He stood quiet and looked at her, listened carefully.

The voice on the other end was a deep man's and it sounded rather miffed. "Kieara, we got word of your...situation. You were warned." Her eyes widened and she began to beg. "Please no! Leave them alone, they didn't do anything!" She said. "You were warned." The phone then cut to the sounds of a roaring fire and screams in the background from the family she once had, but never got to see. The very ones that she joined the slayer society for. They'd threatened her that they'd die if she didn't join.

Nathan understood that this was something serious, but he kept quiet, although he wanted to scream to that man on the other end to leave Kieara alone. He bit his lip and looked at Kieara with a worried face.

Kieara dropped the phone and her legs suddenly felt weak. She then fell to her knees on the ground her hands on her face sobbing.

Nathan stood there, looking at her, for a second before kneeling beside her. "What's happening?" he asked.

"T-they killed them! T-they took a-all of the f-family I had..." She said to him.

Nathan walked over to her and hugged her slightly. "That's sad", he said.

Nathan stood there with his arms wrapped around her, saying comforting things to her although he was confused about everything.

Kieara tried to calm herself and wiped at her eyes.

"Come, sit", Nathan said, let her go and sat down.

"Calm down for a second and then you can tell me what this is all about, if you feel like it", he said, and you could really hear how worried he was.

She sniffled and rubbed her eyes looking up at him. She then explained everything. How the slayers found her when she was young told her she was adopted by the family she was with, the very same that was killed just now. She told him how they kidnapped her and forced her to be a part of the slayers with her biological father who beat on her when she didn't want to kill and how they'd just killed her family for defiance.

Nathan nodded slowly as she had finished. He rubbed her back slowly trying to comfort her. "So they killed your family because they want you to be a part of them, the slayers?" He asked.

She nodded wordlesslly. She was still highly upset but felt a little better having gotten it into the open.

Nathan looked at her with a less confused face than before. "Then the right thing would be to kill them", he said, with a tiny grin on his face.

Death was not new to her, nor did she have a problem in his feeding habits, but she didn't like to kill and shook her head no.

Nathan nodded slightly. "I understand if you don't feel like it. Would you like to flee instead?" he asked.
