Name: Zaeva Dunmar
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Occupation: Priestess of Healing
Basic Appearance: 5'4" and 115 lbs, Zaeva is a lithe figure with an acrobatic body and agile legs. She wears mostly green, orange, and blue dresses on her day to day endevors of healing the sick, and also has a fur shawl for when winter months come along. Around her hip, she has a pouch of coins, a pouch of poultices and various herbs, as well as a small flask for water. Brown boots and general brown cape complete her usual everyday wear.
Magical Abilities:
Impurity Sense—
Basic. Upon touch, she can sense the rise or current locations of disease, illness, poison, and other foreign substances in a person's body. She can heal most illnesses and poisons, however, she is quite limited on what kind of diseases she can heal. Her impurity sense only allows her to sense impurities, but does not directly heal. It does, however, give her a better chance of cleansing illnesses and poisons from a person's body.
Energy Healing—
Expert. Zaeva sacrifices her energy for others. It's fairly common understanding that the bigger the wound (emotional, mental, or physical), the more energy it takes up. She can heal via spirit energy and natural forces. Too much energy sucked from Zaeva can have negative psychological impacts on her body. It can also weaken her healing, especially if she continues to heal despite being aware of any negative impacts, such as dizziness and loss of concentration. Passing out on the spot and falling into a short term coma are possible. Particularly skilled with the shamanic variant of spirit energy.
Soul Healing— Unknowingly bestowed upon Zaeva when Eir saved her from dying. It is dormant and cannot be accessed at this time.
Skills:
Herbalism—
Moderate. As a priestess of healing, Zaeva can accomplish the most basic poultices and cures for simple things, such as fever, cramps, and headaches, as well as various common illnesses. She can also heal minor and moderate wounds with poultices and general procedures, some more advanced than others. Her herbalism knowledge does not go so far as to allow her to figure out how stop more complicated manners such as internal bleeding, severe burns, and extremely deep wounds, etc.
Survival—
Moderate. A fairly easy skill she's acquired over the past few years with the humans. She knows how to hunt with her bow and arrow, skin with her dagger, and track with her senses. She can also build a fire and shelter, and has great knowledge of where to find the best fresh water sources. Her cooking skills whiz others away.
Close Quarter Combat—
Basic. Zaeva grew up in a relatively large keep, therefore, she learned primarily the basics of how to defend herself with a dagger and short sword, aside from using the dagger to skin an animal for fur and meat.
Brief Bio and Personality:
Zaeva was born in Littlemire. She was part of a seven member family, consisting of her mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, and her three siblings. Zaeva was the second oldest of the family, and as such, had a jealousy problem with her eldest brother. She fought hard to feel valuable, but somehow, always ended up falling to the short end of the straw. This seemed to be demonstrated when she was taken away by Whitehall after being "blessed" at three years old for having magnificent healing power.
A natural gift for the healing arts, herbalism, and holistic approaches became her calling. Zaeva used her abilities to help heal minor mental, emotional, and physical hurt. When she became an adult, she immediately moved onto bigger things, finding ways to cure diseases from the ground up. Her true test came when she was twenty three years old. A disease abruptly plagued Reinharth and the villagers, always inspired by Zaeva's willingness to sacrifice herself for others and give without asking for anything in return, turned to her.
Zaeva did everything she could to stop the disease and heal those that had been inflicted with the monstrosity. She could not save everyone, however, and upon her healing the hundreth person of the village with many more to save, she fell ill from the disease herself. The villagers were outraged and disappointed. They felt let down and in seeing that she could no longer give them a safe home free from illness and disease, they pushed her away and tried to deal with the outbreak themselves.
Eir, goddess of healing, rose her back up and Zaeva, wishing everything to go back to Reinharth to save others, was warned not to. Reinharth had been abandoned by the last few survivors of the disease and was now undergoing a preservation cleansing. If she returned, she would never reach her true potential. Eir urged her that if she wished to save others, she travel back to Whitehall, where she was a much more valued asset than in a village and Reinharth healed slowly with time.
