At age nine, Josie remembered experiencing the horrors of an E. Coli Outbreak, though her parents claimed there was also one when she was three years old. She was considered one of the lucky ones to not get "infected" with the disease early on. Some of the local families and neighbors, however, were subject to sickness or death. Food supply from ground beef and lettuce— which was most susceptible to E. Coli— was cut off from England completely and municipal water sources were triple checked for any signs of the rapidly growing bacteria.

Josie got sick from a third E. Coli outbreak at 14 in England, experiencing strong bouts of nausea, vomiting, pain, and tenderness for several days in a row. When Josie recovered, she completed Year 10, or 9th grade U.S. equivalency, with A+ grades and enters Year 11. Year 11, at the age of 16 is when the weird "things" happened. The situations that seemed to come out of nowhere. Josie seemed completely innocent and everyone around her that wasn't affected by her ability thought people were going insane. Her parents stepped in, persuading the principal about why he needed to keep her on the roster and look past these strange happenings which were really nothing more than that, though the government saw it differently.

Josie kept to herself during most of the school year and found solace in her A-Levels and a passion for studying. She struggled to make friends, as people believed that she caused nothing but trouble after the various schooling incidents that she was coincidentally in. School became her paragon as she opted to enroll in university at sixteen, which was considered earlier than most. Her outstanding ability to excel in more advanced studies where others failed was a great marker for her success, as was her passion for molecular biology and chemistry.

At nineteen, Josie received her B.A. in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University. Following her B.A., she spent the last four years studying more effects of the E. Coli outbreak and her research brought her to the United States where the E. Coli outbreak spread to New York, Baton Rouge, and various other states. At twenty three, she received her M.A. in Biology from the University of Oxford and disappeared from England shortly thereafter after she nearly got caught in her studies. Now, she's moved to Chicago to further her research under the pretense that her true name is not Josephine Ramsden. She operates under the alias, Olivia Ward, to deceive the United States government of who she really is.
