Journey without end

Jimmy watched all the cavemen drop to their knees. Akila stood at the forefront of the group as everyone gazed upon the alter, more like a statue. Jimmy wasn't about to fall to his knees in praise of this so called god. Jimmy looked at Akila with a concerned look as she pressed a knife to her throat. "Wait, baby, don't give your life up so easily. Hey Jack! If you're a god or something, why are you here?" Jimmy had seen men who claimed to be gods before, so he had his doubts...it's strange that a god from another time would be concerned with going back to his time period. That would mean that he had been there before...so why would he come here? How did he get here? And why couldn't he get back? Besides, if he was a god...shouldn't he be omnipresent or something like that? Jimmy's mind was racing now, things simply didn't add up.

"You know what, Jack? I don't think you're big and bad. You just like us time travelers, aren't you?"
Jimmy walked over to look at the man standing at the alter, not dropping his spear. He scanned the man up and down, really closely. "You got no proof. And frankly, I don't believe that you are a god." Jimmy pointed his spear at the man to gauge his reaction. "Can a god bleed?" Jimmy asked simply, holding the spear very near the man's chest. Jimmy would hope that someone would say something. He hoped that Akila didn't kill herself. And he hoped that this man really wasn't a god.

Dark bristled in anger when the man claimed to be a god. There was only one who could make that claim and that was the Mother, he who created life, not this imposter. Despite this he was silent and quite awestruck. it wasn't everyday you saw a statue come to life, but when Akila raised the knife to her neck he instinctively stepped forwards. He saw that Jimmy was challenging the man who claimed to be a god, at least he thought so- why else would he point a spear at him?
"Akila-" he's gathered it was her name, "don't."
Then he realised she probably wouldn't understand him.
He was still angry. After all, why would the god ask for Akila's life for her people? What was one girl to so many?
This man was surely not a god. He had been brought up to honour life and to not waste it needlessly. Yes, the man was saying giving her life would help her people but how?
Dark stepped closer to Akila and glared at the god.
"We're not selfish," he said angrily, looking at Jimmy again and then back at the Doc and the others, "you're being selfish asking her for her life. Isn't it enough she would be willing to sacrifice herself for her god? If you want her to prove herself why don't you prove yourself."

The air was thick in the cave as the smell of blood and sweat permeated throughout. The situation was sobering indeed, to the extent that any effect from alcohol ingested by our travelers was quickly gone. Nerves stood on the edge of a razor as the echoing voice of Aten boomed in the air. His image was outlined by flickering flame from dying fires. The shadow from his stone body against the cave wall took on a demented and twisted form. It writhed and jumped, just like the flame that projected it, as he spoke.

View attachment 10389The Doc paid less attention to his actual words, and also the fact that he could understand them, and more to his request. Why was he, a god, asking for a sacrifice? His mind whirred like cogs of a brand new watch. His hand had unknowingly slipped inside his pocket, his fingers gliding over the smooth surface of the time device. He managed to pry his eyes from Aten for a second and noticed that all the cave people were indeed on their knees, but the look in their eyes was not one of loving praise. It was the cold, sweaty palm look of fear.

They fear him, and don't worship him as a benevolent god. They fear him.

Just about the time Doc made this realization, Jimmy approached and questioned Aten. The Doc was amazed by his courage.
Thank god for Jazz hands, he thought.

Again the god was questioned, this time by Dark. If it wasn't already uncomfortably obvious, Aten was on the brink of loosing his hold on these people.

Then there was a sudden jerk, like being on a train when the conductor hits the emergency brake. Some of the cave people were thrown, children began to cry as men stood to protect their families. The fear had left them, it seemed, as they went into full on defense mode. For a moment everyone was to caught up to even notice what had happened.

A crack ran across the floor, about two inches thick and twelve feet long. The Doc nearly screamed out, looking around for Zakia to share his fascination. The scientist in him was overwhelmed.

'We're standing on a fault line!' he thought 'That was an earthquake, what timing!'

The Jerk had caused the spear Jimmy was holding to puncture through the chest of Aten. His 'stone skin' was really not stone at all, but some sort of suit, the Doc noted, and would later discover that in the very distant future such garbs were worn to camouflage soldiers at war. Bright red blood pumped from the wound.

The spear head had pierced Aten's heart.

He was no god, he was no essence of mother that created life.

Two things happened next, not Simultaneously, but according to Marcus Aurelius, they might as well have.

The obelisk (The sacrificial alter) began to illuminate in a fluorescent blue, the same color that that the time travelers all remembered seeing when they first jumped. Next, the cavemen all came to a general consensus: Blood equals not god. They raised their arms in defiance, for the moment, not at all concerned with the group of travelers. Instead they took the slain body of Aten and carried him out of the cave. So passes the evil that plagued centuries with evil corruption. History had been changed.

It all happened very fast, and now the travelers were alone in the room with the alter. It cast that strange blue light into the cave, making it as bright as day.

The Doc spoke.

"Is everyone here? I think this is it……ready for round two?"

The girl from the eighties took her bag, nodding in thanks to Damian. She was still in shock; she could barely believe she was still alive....
''Thanks, thanks!...thanks Damian!'' she said, holding onto her pink bag like it was a teddy bear. ''Be careful!'' she yelled at him as he went away. She couldn't help but to worry a little.

''Are you okay? We're safe now...'' Colleen said to Melody, crouching beside her, and giving the girl a hug. ''You can open your eyes, now...,'' she said to her, softly.

Just as Colleen finished saying those words, some strange chanting was heard in the cave. Colleen's eyes slowly widened in surprise, watching how the remaining cavemen started to move as if they were under someone else's control.

"You've failed so I shall take your life as my sacrifice."

Again, Colleen covered her mouth with one hand, to prevent another scream coming out. She shut her eyes as she saw the blood pouring off the cavemen's throats. It was so gruesome! So cruel... so unnecessarily cruel!

''SorryNoNoNoNoDon'tLookYet, Don'tOpenYourEyes........!''
she said, quickly covering Melody's eyes with her other hand. ''We need to get out of here! Come!''

And, with that, she grabbed Melody's arm and started to walk as fast as she could, dragging the other time-traveller with her, following the same path Damian had just taken, until the final chamber, where the rest of the group was. They made it just in time to watch how the statue of Aten became alive. Colleen winced, fearing she was just about to see how the egyptian girl took her life as well. Fortunately, it did not happen, as Jimmy and Dark confronted him. Things were getting thick....

''Come, let's go with the dreadlock girl...'' Colleen whispered at Melody, having spotted Zakia's head not so far away. But, just as they were moving again, the ground started to shake; the floor parted. Colleen stepped backwards in terror, seeing how a deep chasm was created, all of a sudden, before her eyes. A bright light flooded the room; and then, when things were still again, the only thing Colleen understood was the Doc's voice.

''WHAT?!'' Colleen's voice echoed in the room. ''WE GOTTA JET OUTTA HERE!''

Damian was running at the nearest caveman, hefting the club and when he came close he swung at the caveman's head like he was swinging for a home run. But the caveman and all the other ones bowed down. The club passed through the empty spaced and caused Damian to lose his balance and the slice on his stomach to burn. With a curse Damian fell off balance and stumbled over some of the cavepeople and bumped into Dark and finally fell to the ground as the ground shifted.

Groaning quietly, Damian pushed a hand against his stomach and watched as the cavemen carried out the statue looking dude. Also there was a very large crack in the ground
"What the hell??" He tried getting back up onto his feet but noticed a blue light as Colleen and Melody came to join them. He didn't know it was the same kind of light as when he time traveled here, since he had been blinded at the time.

When Jimmy's spear peirced Aten's heart Dark saw that Aten bled. He had been right; the goddess Mother would not have bled, she was a spirit, not a living breathing person.
Dark cursed loudly, rubbing his forehead. He sat on the ground where he had fallen when Damian had bumped into him. The glowy light stuff had occured again, this time illuminating the obelisk. The cave people had gone and now he and the other travellers were alone.
"Well, that was..eventful," Dark muttered, staring at the obelisk and wondering what caused it to glow like that. It couldn't be natural, could it? The only natural light sources he knew of were the sun and fire and they didn't glow blue.
Dark looked around again and saw the crack. He hadn't seen cracks like those before either, not even in earthquakes.
"To be honest I don't think I can handle much more of this," he croaked, closing his eyes briefly.

She was about to do it, about to run the blade's edge against her skin. But the earthquake caused her to drop the dagger and she heard a cry in front of her, a cry of pain.

Akila, a broken Akila, stared up at her former god. Stunned she witnessed the spear pierce his chest and through his heart. She didn't hear the words of the others around her nor did she care. She had agreed to be his pawn but now he wasn't a god but a mere human, just like herself. Anger shot throughout her as understanding and connections were made - He was the cause of the famine back home, he was the reason why the Nile grew stale with each passing day and why the crops didn't grow. Akila wanted to be the one who killed this villian, not Jimmy. She wished she drove the spear through his heart and tell her people that she had brought them justice. But she knew she wouldn't have been able to. Coward that she was, she would have stood there with the spear pointed at his chest.

Jimmy was the real hero, not her...

She watched the rioting cave men take Aten out of the cave, probably to mutilate him. Anger and bitterness was written all over her face and although the statue of Aten allowed her to understand her fellow time travelers, Akila didn't wish to answer the Doctor. Instead she rose from her kneeled position and walked towards the group, hanging near Jimmy.

Melody heard a lot of sounds around her but tried to ignore them, even though she knew very well what the sounds were she still tried to tell herself that it were something else. Suddenly someone told her that they were safe and that she could open her eyes. Melody hesitated but then decided to open her eyes even though she knew that the scene would probably be horrible with a lot of dead bodies. How many from their group would be dead? But just as her eyes started to go up she noticed a hand flying up in front of them instead, and the person told her not to open them yet.

She couldn't make out from the voice who the girl where, but she didn't try to guess who it were either. She were a bit too busy with shutting her eyes closed again and then being pulled somewhere else by someone. She let the girl pull her with her, she took large steps so that she wouldn't fall on something while walking so fast with her eyes closed.

Then they stopped and the floor started to shake, Melody heard how the girl beside her screamed that they needed to get out of there just after the old man had said something. His voice were the only one she had memorized so she knew who he were when she heard his voice. Melody opened her eyes slowly just in the moment when the statue started to shine in blue, and suddenly the sounds of angry cavemen were gone.

Melody looked around a bit confused, shouldn't there be dead bodies or at least cavemen around? Had they traveled in time again? "What just happened?"

Blue light filled the cave. It engulfed everything, it became everything. There was no more prehistoric existence, and for the moment, there was no existence. Only the blue light.

The Doc had the precognition to pay closer attention this time as he was whisked through the time rip. He felt as if his stomach was in the back of his throat and while the feeling of falling from an incredibly high place was present, it was somehow different. He imagined it was similar to how an astronaut might feel falling through space; helpless, weightless, with no end in any direction.

He didn't noticed whether or not the others were with him, and try as he might, there was no hope in turning his head to look, before he had a chance he felt solid ground under his feet.

END CHAPTER ONE

April 10th, 1912

QueensTown, Ireland.

Against the backdrop of salted gray skies, The RMS Titanic made it's final departure from dock, en route to New York. Captain Edward John Smith (Captain Smith) stood proudly in his quarters as the massive passenger ship cut out to sea.

Among the 2,208 passengers, who varied from the wealthiest in the world to immigrants with only the cloths on their backs, only 705 would survive.

Or so history dictates….

But in this reality there were ten more passengers, some of which knew what was to become of the famous unsinkable ship.

Color, light, and sound exploded into the senses of the travelers as they landed, butt-first, onto the hard wooden deck of the ship. The hustle and bustle of new boarding passengers, most of whom were Irish immigrants headed to north America to start a new life, gave the time travelers a smooth, unnoticed transition into 1912. For those of the group that had lived in this time line it might have been obvious that this was the Titanic, but just in case there was any question.

"Welcome aboard the RMS Titanic!"

Boomed the voice of a Hefty man clad in royal navy garb, no doubt a high ranking member of the crew.

"Captain Smith welcomes you, should you need help with anything please feel free to contact myself, second mate Adams, Geoffrey Adams"

His voice dropped and his smile faded as he caught sight of the time travelers. In situations where the impossible becomes a reality, humans will often look for any explanation they can find to justify the impossible.

"And where might you be from? Oh. Part of the performing arts circuit, no doubt. Such unusual cloths! My! I believe you lot are housed on the...."
He let his 'E' carry as he checked a paper in his hand

"Oh yes, of course of course, in the second class suite, starboard down the hall from the stair case"

The Doc nodded, realizing that they had been no doubt mistaken for a circus act, but more interested by the four mammoth steam stacks that protruded from the ship. Being from the steam age, and despite the fact he was a scientist, this was almost as amazing as time travel.

"Amazing, simply amazing."

His hand scratched absently at his bewhiskered face. It had been a week since he had last shaved and the white bristles were becoming bothersome.

"This must be the largest steam liner on earth……"

"Quite right." BarkedAdams who had taken a sudden interest in the group. "What type of show are you lot preforming? I trust you will be putting on a show for the enjoyment of the passengers?"

"That my friend, is a surprise!" Said the Doc dismissively

"I trust that our suite is in order?" Without waiting for an answer, The Doc cleared his throat and lead the way towards the ships second class suite, although he wasn't at all sure where it was. What he was sure of, is that they needed to get off the main deck. As luck would have it they came upon a stairwell labeled 'Second class' and from there made their way down a hall and to a large double door. A member of the Titanic crew who was walking awkwardly towards them with his arms full to the brim with towels and linen, stopped in his tracks, eye's growing huge in his head.

"What on earth is this?" he said

"Traveling circus, my friend!" Answered the Doc.

"Oh, right. Well make sure you don't bother the other passengers, some of them don't take kindly to....."

He paused as if searching for the right word, but giving up

"Circus folk." He finished, then added "This is your room"

The time travelers entered and saw that the room was not at all shabby, and very accommodating. With views from the port side, over looked an endless sea.

The Doc had been thinking, in what little time there was to actually think, and came to the conclusion that he was tired. His feet hurt and he hadn't had tea for nearly a day! This just wouldn't do.

"I propose we relax." He sat in a high backed chair, closing his eyes.

"Then we can figure out what we're doing here, and more than that, where here is...or when for that matter." The Doc mouthed the words back to himself, not sure if they had made sense in his exhaustion.

Back in Ireland a group of French performers stood and watched as the Titanic sailed away. Although they were late and missed boarding, their timing was absolutely perfect for the time travelers.

They were on some kind of ship, it looked somewhat familiar for Melody but she didn't remember where she had seen it before. She had never traveled with any ship before, but she had seen some movies that were about ships. Maybe it was one that she had seen in a documentary somewhere. A voice suddenly reminded her, Titanic. That was the ship that sank in 1912. She had read a lot about the ship, stories from survivors and seen tons of pictures from it. From one catastrophe right into another, how unlucky could they get?

Suddenly she noticed that the group started to walk, she hadn't listened at all on what was going on. She walked after them, it would be bad to get lost on that big ship, she could barely orient in the small city she lived in. A man stopped them when they had gotten to the second class corridors, the answer doc gave the man surprised Melody. Cirkus? She thought surprised, she should have listened better. Hopefully they could get away from there before they would need to do a performance.

They got shown to the room and then finally they were alone where no one except the group could hear them. "Relax? This is Titanic, it's the famous ship that were supposed to be unsinkable. Guess what happened, it sank." She said almost hysterical. If they couldn't get away from that time soon then they would sink with Titanic.

Dari worked on some calculations for her math class while she and Nari sat around their father's lab, waiting for him to come back. Nari was fiddling with things in the lab, and after fifteen minutes of staring at her calculations Dari realized it was time to take a break. She rubbed her eyes and put her computer back in her bag, then got up and joined her sister at the lab table. She mixed some chemicals haphazardly. As usual, she didn't really care what she did, just wanted to see some reaction. Her twin was doing the same.

"What do you think Dad's working on this time?" Dari asked idly while poking around the lab station. She wasn't sure whether she would get an answer though, because the next moment Nari instructed her to press a button. She did so, and something poofed, smoke rose around the twins, and they landed on their butts somewhere... else.

Dari bit her tongue and muttered a soft "ow," keeping her face expressionless as she looked around and found herself in the middle of a crowd. "Nari," she whispered to her twin still beside her. "Where the hell ARE we? And what did we land on? Is this... is this wood? Aren't trees extinct?"

They were ushered with the rest of the group down to the second class suite. "Did that guy just ask if we were part of the 'performing arts circuit', Nari?" The wonder of being elsewhere so suddenly put a tone of bemusement in her voice. "We'll show whoever they are a performance."

As they got to the room with the rest of the group, Dari made sure to keep a straight face while she examined the rest of the people in this supposed "circus". She folded her arms and planted her feet firmly. Wherever they were, it was not staying flat. "The gravity controls must be off in here," she muttered to her sister.

She spared a glance for the woman becoming hysterical and talking about a sinking ship, then Dari cleared her throat and pitched her voice high. "What are you people, kidnappers? I can assure you that we will fight against you." She held her head high and made eye contact with every one of the group. None of them had augmented their appearance through surgery. Where were they?

It wasn't an odd thing, playing with her father's stuff, that was all she did as a child.. but now she wasn't a child; she was 19.

"Dari," she said flatly and looked over at her sister, putting her goggles down over her eyes. "I am going to touch these wire bundles together. You hit the button." An almost sinister smile crossing her face.

Nari had to mentally prepare herself for a minute; it wasn't like she thought something would happen, but what if it did? She took a deep breath, held it, then nodded to her sister.. touching the bundles together.

Bright flash, serge of electricity. Her body was tingling, stomach feeling sick, squirmy; it definitely was far from pleasant. Her limbs felt weak, almost like jelly as she felt like she was jetting at a speed unrecognizable through time; she wanted this feeling to stop.

It did….

Her body was forced into an abrupt stop when legs hit a hard surface only to collapse from lack of stability. Nari placed her hands on the wood panels in front of her, eyebrows furrowing as she felt the waxed material under her fingertips. This is not any material known to me. She dropped her gaze to the deck, face lighting up as she realized just what she was on. Wood! This is wood! When did our society have wood? There are no trees. This is the past! Nari's mind was exploding with excitement.. but no one would know.

"I am here, Dari. I-I think we have sped back through time. In our time trees no longer exist, Dari," Nari's voice was soft as she spoke, trying to keep their conversation between her and her twin.

With a calm, cool appearance she pushed herself up, straightened her shirt and top, and then placed the goggles on the top of her head. Her oddly colored eyes scanned her surroundings, eyebrows raising the slightest bit at the objects around her as they were shown to their room. The people are dressed so weirdly; they have no modifications.. those clothes are definitely different… the smokestacks! Look at those smokestacks! Circus folk.. what? Nari's mind jumped from subject to subject, but her appearance stayed calm.

Nari didn't answer any of her sister's questions for a moment, just to annoy her further. Finally, with a smirk, she looked over at her twin. "Dari, he thinks we are in a circus," her voice was almost light, semi-comical. "This difference in gravity is making me feel.. queasy." She wrapped her pale arms are her stomach. "I think.."

Her sentence was cut off when a woman began to freak out. There was no point in showing that much emotion. A simple sentence emphasizing the main points of what was going to happen was all that was needed. "Dari, her emotion is expressed soo.. openly."

View attachment 10695The old professor discovered that the chair he had chose to sit in looked comfortable, but felt like an iron maiden. His back was screaming and his neck had a kink in it. He stood.

"First name in comfort."
He mocked, recalling a flyer he had seen posted on the stair well "Bah!"

He rubbed the small of his back with a tired hand and stared out the window. Rolling grey sea stared back, and way off in the distance sprays of water could be seen from surfacing gray whales.

"Eschrichtius robustus! My lord it is my deepest regret that I haven't spent more time at sea!" He was about to go into a long winded speech about whales and their habitat when Melody went off like an excited alarm clock.

"The Titanic? Sinking ship?"
The Doc felt his stomach do a barrel roll. Could it be true? Had they traveled aboard a doomed ship?

When he turned to face the group again, he did a double take. Two identical twins stood with them now, hitchhikers on the road of time, he thought.

"Well, then. Well, then. I see we have two new faces with us, well technically one..but two new bodies! Hello My dears, and welcome! I wish I could explain things, but if you are confused my explanation would do very little, the long and short of it is. Time travel!" He smiled at each of them, raising his eyebrows so thick creases appeared on his forehead.

"Now then, what else do we know about the Titanic?" He addressed everyone now.

Again, the light.
Colleen clutched her bag with all her strengths, as the time traveling took place. It was somewhat painful, but what hurt her the most was falling -buttocks first- on the great ship's deck.

She stood up groggily, still trying to make sense of everything. At least, the place was nicer than the cave filled with prehistoric men and false gods. She started walking after the group, following the Doc, nodding at the captain as they walked past them. ''Bangin' moustache,'' she said, winking at him.

She had not noticed that they were mistaken for a circus group. She had not noticed the new twins that joined them. All she noticed, was the beds, once they were inside the room. And she threw herself over one of them, face first.

Colleen was exhausted. She did not even care about her hair, and the fact that it was going to end up even more messed up if she was not careful. Well, really, it was so messed already that she couldn't bother anymore. So she stayed like that, her face buried in the bed, listening at what was going on.

It took her some minutes to realize they were effetively talking about the Titanic.

The Titanic.

''THE TITANIC?!?!!''
she yelled, suddenly lifting up her head. ''WAIT WAIT I ONCE DID A SCHOOL PROJECT ABOUT THE TITANIC! IT SUNK-'' she said, lowering her voice, but not calming down, ''...it sunk four days after it departed! And I can't remember the exact date! And it crashed, it crashed against this ice, like, this iceberg thing? You know, HUGE chunk of ice. My friend Betty says it's all 'cos the captain was gettin' all the booze and all the chicks, but seriously....'' she said, looking at everybody.

She then noticed the two twins, and frowned, blinking her eyes.

''...Seriously. '', she added, in a rather serious tone.

That incredible light had become possessive of their bodies once more. If anything was to teach the group something throughout this ludicrous adventure, it was that Time did not stop for no one. Time was unpredictable. Time just does not care about what you feel or where you are in life. Time will throw you around as it sees fit, or if it just feels the necessity to become amused by your struggle against it.
Time is quite the little bugger, it is.
Alas, it also fought with Fate. Zakia began to think Fate was the one trying to wrestle with Time this ever going moment with the rest of the group. They were meant to come together and overcome all of these unlucky obstacles. Or, this was a lovely thing to ponder, at least.

The sensation of falling was strong, and gulped up her innards without warning. Collapsing onto her bottom, the young woman of dreads gave a groan, rubbing at her forehead with a gloved hand. The cool leather material graced her skin, which kind of calmed her down as she came to her senses. Blinking large chocolate eyes up at the ship, she was speechless. It.... It...... It was fantastic! Jumping up, literally with quite the impressive hop, Zakia landed on her boots, her arms raised. Remarkable! First the mammoths, then this.. this contraption of giant proportions! What machinery! What skill evident of this time! Oh, she slightly wished she was from the future now. Noticing the group moving ahead, she shook her head, gathered up the sides of her long coat, and ran to catch up.

Of this time, they would be the "circus people". Zakia hadn't gone to the circus since she was a young girl! So tiny, yet still with a personality so loud and large. She recalled the lions and tigers, the ring leader, the elephants and the clowns. Oh! Oh, the clowns! Of course, the big top never stayed too long for her to enjoy it thoroughly, go back and visit since she always had SO many questions for them all, she remembered it all vividly. So, they were circus people? Oh! Why, not! She could get use to this, yes, yes she could. Flipping some locks away from her shoulders, She brought the goggles up to her eyes and cleared her throat, bowing to the man that had let them come aboard, rolling her hand at him in a proper manner. Her mother had tried to teach her etiquette, thinking she just was too unruly to understand it all. Joke's on her, since Zakia did understand every little bit, she just chose not to give society the satisfaction of acting as such. Though, in this Time, she felt she could act with a different persona.

Perhaps it was seeing all of the suits, corsets, frilly lace, giant hats, or little fans waving at those holding them, but Zakia felt the need to hold her shoulders back, her chin high, and her chest out. Like a Sir, they would be the 'Circus People'. And she was prepared to be the best Circus Person she could be!
Coming to their room, she dropped the act like a hot turtle for a moment. The wallpaper! Oh, wasn't it just exquisite! Striding up joyfully to the designs placed upon the walls of the room, her fingers traced over them. The curls and loops seemed endless, still, she stared in wonder and awe, enjoying herself immensely. Just like the human body, this design had a sort of symmetry, and then not at the same moment. The patterns repeated, that much she could tell. But, they also were random, and different, alternating every loop or so. It captivated her mind.

Smiling softly, she had a late reaction to noticing the newcomer twins upon the scene in the middle of the room. Actually, her reaction was so very late that she hadn't even given a moment to produce one. Zakia continued to stare at the wall and pet it like a delicate butterfly. Whoosh, over her head all the information on the ship sinking went, flying at such a speed no one could catch it and bring it back.
Welcome to the world of a colorful Anthropologist.

Melody hadn't even noticed that there had gotten two new people there, where new people going to get caught in their time traveling every time they went somewhere else? She had never met identical twins before, but it wasn't like she met people that often anyways so it wasn't such a surprise that she hadn't seen any twins. The old man told them that they had traveled in time before going back to the subject about titanic. The girl with odd hair that had helped her in the cave fast told them what she knew about titanic. Melody forced herself to calm down and think about things.

"I have seen a couple of documentaries and read a lot of papers about it, over 2000 passengers were on the ship but they only had lifeboats for about 1000 of them. In the end it was only about 700 that survived because they didn't fill the lifeboats." She told them continuing on what the other girl had said. "It sank because they collided into an iceberg, I think it were at the night between the 14th and 15th. They collided around midnight and it had sunken completely around two or three in the morning. That's all I can remember about it. Oh, and that they locked in the third class passengers when the ship started to sink so that the higher classes could get in to the lifeboats first."

There wasn't any information about the titanic that they could use to help themselves away from there, but knowing the time that it would happen would help them to find a solution faster. Or just make them afraid until they died.

When Damian entered the room he wasn't very concerned by being on the Titanic or the new arrival of the twins, as soon as they were in the room he hurried around looking for a first aid kit with his arm pressed against his stomach. After some hurried rummaging and toppled bottles he found an old (it wasn't really old just looked old to him) metal first aid kit. With almost a sigh of relief he took the metal case to a more private corner of the room so he could still hear what they were saying.

Back turned to the group but ears listening he removed his coat and gloves and tossed them onto a nearby chair, carefully peeling off his shirt and throwing it on top of them. The wound across his stomach wasn't very deep but it was still bleeding a little bit. This time he sighed at the wound itself and opened the old tin case. In the future, or present to Damian, first aid kits were different but similar to this one. They still had some old ones around for the people wanted to go old school or whatever. Damian wasn't one of those people, but the basic concept of everything seemed evident. He sifted through the metal box for something to disinfect the wound, his urgency to find a kit waning her started listening to Melody describe the events that happened on the Titanic and as his hand closed around a bottle of rubbing alcohol the fact that so many people died because of their lower status in life reached his ears.
"What? What did you say?" he turned around with a look for contained outrage as he talked to Melody. "They left those people to di-" Damian bit his lip to keep himself from ranting about the injustice that was the discrimination between people because of wealth or lack there of. He loosened his grip on the bottle of alcohol and turned back around to the kit with a curse in Spanish. Letting his anger distract him so he wouldn't lose the the nerve, Damian opened the bottle of alcohol and dabbed some gauze with it and then wiped at his wound with it, grunting from pain and anger.

Once the wound was cleared of blood and cleaned Damian held a piece of gauze to his long wound and tried winding a bandage around it with limited success, cursing rich people under his breath as well as his wound and the bandage. He didn't even notice the two girls who's appearance mirrored each others.

Jimmy's world spiraled into a blur of light as the time travel commenced. This form of time travel was much rougher than what he was used to experiencing, but it was essentially the same result, minus getting to choose your time period. In a rush, all of jimmy's senses came flooding back to him, he stumbled as the ship rocked and tossed on the waves and rubbed his eyes to hasten the recovery of his sight.

"Oh man, I ain't been out on the big blue in a couple years..."
Jimmy stated as his sight came back and his head leveled. "I can't really dig this...looks like the Cotton Club. This ain't my scene, buncha' uppity ofay cats 'round here." Jimmy paused and raised his brow at a beautiful young heiress passing by. "Ow! Dig that queen! Might not be so bad, haha!" Jimmy tuned back in as soon as the Doc confirmed that they were a traveling circus.

"Oh yeah, man. You best believe we're the real deal! Ain't findin' no one better!" Jimmy smiled as he walked, following Doc. Before long, they were nearing their room, but a man carrying towels and linens happened to stop the group. He went on about us not making so much noise because the passengers didn't particularly care for...Jimmy noticed the man glance right at him..."Circuis Folk."

"Oh, I get it, Jack...You mean these ofays ain't fond of a colored bortha'...I feel ya, I ain't too fond of you uppities either!"
Jimmy bucked at the man as he passed by, acting as if he was about to attack him. The man jumped, probably a defensive reaction or possibly a frightened reaction, wither way, the man dropped a few towels in the process. Jimmy chuckled as he walked towards "their" room.

Upon entering the room, Jimmy actually noticed the twins. "Woah! Where did you two brees come from?!" Jimmy asked as Melody freaked out about the group being aboard the Titanic. Jimmy wasn't too scared. He knew about the Titanic, as he had read about it before, so he knew what to expect. "Relax! We just need to be near those life boats when this baby starts goin' down." Jimmy shrugged. He had been in tighter situations...even the cavemen seemed worse than this right now.

"It struck the iceberg about 20 minutes before midnight, April 14. Took this baby two hours and forty minutes to sink." Jimmy had no idea of the date, or the current time...he was usually a walking chronometer...but ever sense he had lost his link to the timeline, he couldn't keep track of the time like he used to. "Anybody know what day it is?" He turned to look at everyone in the room, but stopped at Zakia...Jimmy looked at her awkwardly, but playfully..."Haha...Girl...What are you doin'?" He asked with a smirk and a raised brow.

Dari didn't answer Nari, though she agreed with her sister's open shock at the woman's emotions. She squeezed her lips together, her biggest show of emotion. She didn't blink, didn't fidget. She looked carefully at the people around her. An old man, clearly in a leadership role, since he welcomed the twins. He confirmed Nari's whisperings, though, that they had traveled in time, which was completely ludicrous. Time doesn't work linearly, so there is no way to travel through time to a specific point. The absurdity of where they were irked Dari, though she would not admit to it.

Nari would certainly know more about the Titanic than Dari did, if there were anything interesting to know about it. Dari glanced at her twin and gently touched Nari's arm, silently urging her to take the lead in how the two should respond. "If you know anything..." she whispered before going back to studying the others.

"Seriously" just about wrapped up the girl who threw herself on the bed. Dari hid a slight temptation to roll her eyes. Another young woman staring at walls, and the woman freaking out didn't notice the twins at all. A wounded young man. The talkative man interested her. He almost looked like someone who had augmented his appearance, with the hair, at least. "Yes, where DID we come from," she muttered under her breath. At least he noticed them. The others were too caught up in the sinking ship. What in the world was a sinking ship? She reached into her bag and suddenly realized that yes, it was still with her and yes, her computer was too. She would do some research once they'd gotten a handle on what they were doing.

She nudged her sister again. "What do you know?" Dari said under her breath, looking at the group instead of at Nari. While waiting for her sister to speak up, she stared at the woman on the bed, the one saying "seriously", trying to hold eye contact until the woman flinched. Dari was pretty good at the game of keeping her face expressionless while staring, unblinking, into someone else's eyes. It helped that she looked 14 and no one wanted to play this game with a 14-year-old.
