She pulled out her own knife, comparing the symbols. "They don't match..but okay." She put the hot knife where her own knife goes and twirled her knife between her fingers. "Let's go." She stood up, checking the radar. "They've scattered, probably planning an ambush." She sighed, putting her knife in her jacket pocket and holding her rifle with both hands before stepping forwards, her eyes scanning everything and her rifle aimed straight, her finger on the trigger.

Allen quickly decided to cover her and stood back to back. He exchanged his two tonfas for his katana. With a sigh, he concentrated to find how far his sensory abilities can stretch. She was right, he could feel them and they were planning something. He decided to go into full-sync this time to save them the trouble. Allen's enhanced vision and mental prowess went to work planning a course of attack.

A small movement to her left made Kate turn her complete attention on the figure stepping out of the shadows, clapping. He looks human..like..human human.. She thought to herself as he smiled. "Great, you've gotten this far, I thought you'd be dead, considering you abandoned your father." He said. His eyes flashed a brilliant yellow and she pulled the trigger, a dart hitting him right in the heart and he went down. "Idiot." she muttered. "He tried to disguise himself." She pulled the fake teeth out of his gaping mouth, revealing short, small, razor sharp teeth. She paused, hearing several others move and she tried to find where they were. "There's got to be about five.." She said, listening to the various calls and replies. It sounded like a bunch of birds, but Kate knew better.

'Five huh?' He thought to himself. In a second, he disappeared. Allen had found one not too far off as he was too quick for the being to respond. Before it could turn around and hit by the broad side of Allen's katana as it was used in a baseball bat fashion. It tumbled into the clearing where Kate was and Allen appeared in seconds later. "Make that four."

She nodded, trying to scan the area. A click of a gun sounded and she fired, hitting the man in the shoulder and she fell forwards, her head hitting the ground, busting her nose which started bleeding. She turned around, scanning calmly. They're getting quieter..what are they planning? She had just stepped towards her left when a knife flew past her, missing her by mere inches. Kate turned to face the assaulter, but couldn't see them, as they were still hidden.

As Allen got himself ready to find another, he literally had to dodge a bullet and a knife at the same time. Luckily for him, he was still in sync mode so it wasn't much of a problem at all. Slowly but surely, he was becoming fed up with the hidden attacks and looked at Kate. He saw that she was bleeding slightly, nothing a bit of healing magic can't fix. "Kate, If you have anything that doesn't conduct electricity -" He dodges a knife. "Hold on to it and don't let go until I say so."

She gave him a confused look. "I..I don't know if I do.." She said. She ducked as the click of another gun sounded. She rolled into a nearby alleyway to avoid getting shot at. Aiming with her gun, she noticed the little bit of someone's exposed hand. She fired, hitting them right in the palm. It took the dart a minute to kick in, but it did its work. She leaned against the wall, the pipes covered in a rubber lining, but she didn't realize it, she was trying to listen to find the two others she thought where there.

As another one fell, Allen closed his eyes and focused on matching the right amount of power that was needed for this to work. Luckily, there was two left and he didn't need to overload it anymore. Smiling, he put his hand to one wall and was able to feel out one of the hidden two. With a smirk, he sent out enough electricity to knock a human out to the being. He got his mark when he heard a painful yell then a thud.

A head peered over the edge of the roof, staring at Kate. She glanced up and barely had time to pull her knife before a knife was pointed at her own head. They were at a standstill, the eyes of the woman daring her to strike first, Kate doing the same. Kate slipped her hand onto the hilt of the new knife, ignoring the hot burning sensation it made onto her palm.

Allen saw this and started to formulate a plan. Currently, the last one was a bit too high for him to get to. When he saw Kate make a move to the knew knife, he instantly became overwhelmed with dread for some reason. There was something about that knife that made him want to destroy that knife.

"Well, what will you do Kate?" The woman asked, her voice soft and whispery. Kate narrowed her eyes, dropping the knife pointed at the woman's head.
"That."
The woman looked taken aback for a moment before making to turn to jump off. This is when Kate pulled out the hot knife and hit her with it. It went through her shoulder, smoldering her shirt. Kate took a dart from her pocket and stabbed her arm with it, pulling out the knife. She tore the woman's sleeve, using it to wrap the bleeding shoulder after pocketing the hot knife and placing her own in the holster, the shiny metal cool against her burnt hand. She stood up, turning to Allen, her hand in her pocket opposite of the knife. "We should try and see if any of them fled, we don't want them running around town." She said carefully.

Allen nodded and turned off his half-sync mode and immediately leaned back against a wall. He almost forgot the side effects of his sync mode which sucked majorly. The human body couldn't handle the increases in speed/awareness/physical strength that came with his sync mode. Luckily, he didn't go all the way or else he would be out cold right about now.

Kate watched him carefully. "Are you okay, Allen?" she asked, a concerned tone ringing in her voice.

"Give me a few minutes." He said while taking a deep breath. "Ok, i'm good now. Just a bad side effect." He said while standing up and sheathing his katana.

She gave him an 'I'm not convinced' look, but continued, checking her radar every so often. "They seem to be gathering in the West side of the town. 4 blocks that way." She said, pointing West. "There's a lot more though.."

"I think we should get some back-up for that." Allen said with a slight chuckle. His body was on cool-down for the moment. He had maybe 15 minutes before he could use sync mode again. "We woulda had a easier time if my friend Neil was here but he went home awhile ago." He admitted.

Kate nodded, pushing a button on her headset. A light flashed red and green. "We'll have about six people here with a variety of dart guns in about 5 minutes flat." she said, glancing up at the sun, which was now high in the sky. Wow..it's almost noon already? Too much time...

Allen nodded with her words. Only about another 9 minutes left, 5 for the peoples to get to their position and then after that, he'd be ready to go either half or full sync modes. If the approaching situation was as bad as he thought of, he'd have to go into full syncro.

Kate started down the road slowly, waiting for the sound of squeaky breaks and loaded guns. She'd gone about two blocks when the roar of an engine sounded behind them. She turned around and watched as six of her team, one with a pair of unusual looking glasses on his face, jumped out of the truck, which sped off once they had dismounted. "Good morning. You know the procedure?" They all nodded. She turned to the guy with the glasses. "How many?"
"There seems to be about 20, and they're burning a building." He said the last part almost silently, knowing Kate's reaction. She paused for a moment, taking a deep breath.
"Which one?"
"302 Sixth Street."
Kate nodded. "Let's move."

As the time limits passed, Allen knew he was ready to get started once again. He mentally cued his persona to get ready to go full sync. With a smile, he followed Kate's group. Whatever those things were, they'd get what's coming to them.
