Outer Personality - Assured, strong, and charismatic. Gideon is a strong leader, if a bit overbearing at times. He is mostly concerned with the well being of himself and those close to him, and will do anything to assure his group's survival. He is confident, if rather prideful at the same time. He is likable enough, although he can be rather intimidating to approach.
Inner Personality - Gideon is fearful of death. He doubts himself at all times, thanks to his failure to save his wife two years ago when the sickness started. He fears a demise similar to hers, and so tries to keep himself and his companions from suffering the same fate. He takes everything that happens to the group very personally, and is extremely hard on himself.
Likes - Peace and quiet, low stress situations, girls, relaxation, good food, rewarding relationships, obedience, tolerance, easygoing people, and cooperation.
Dislikes - Cannibals, sickness, hostile people, unnecessary violence, anything that could harm his group, talking about his wife, and often, he dislikes himself.

HISTORY
Backstory - Gideon Alexander Love is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. He grew up with an absent father and doting mother, and eventually moved away after losing his dear mother to Hurricane Katrina. He found love in Nevada, where he married a beautiful girl named Natalie in the year 2008. He became a somewhat successful writer, mostly writing horror and science fiction, and worked for an advertisement agency as the head of their creative department. Life was good. Life was simple. And then, it all fell apart. The infection hit Nevada a bit late, about halfway through 2015. Gideon didn't expect it. He thought it would all get wrapped up sooner or later. It wasn't. One night, Gideon's home was invaded by a host of his infected neighbors. Gideon and his wife tried to escape, driving through the horde and toward freedom, but the passenger door of their car was ripped off and Natalie was dragged out and torn apart. Only her hand, bearing her wedding ring, was left in the car, as the rest of her was ripped away. Gideon, traumatized by the incident, simply drove on, not fully realizing what had just happened. He spent the next six months mourning her and wandering the country, writing down his experiences and gradually learning how to survive. He joined a survivor group and ended up becoming leader after demonstrating his people skills and knack for surviving tough situations. He has devoted himself to this group, calling them his "Family" and promising that he would make sure they found a safe haven. That's been his mission ever since.

PERSONAL
Outer Personality - Bitter, cynical, and unkind. Otis doesn't take anything from anyone, and he has a very depressing view on life. He has every reason to do so, as nothing has ever come of his existence. He sees no reason for existence other than suffering, and views the apocalypse as just the icing on the cake of his horrendous life. He's sarcastic, biting, and rude, and yet can be kind if you get on his good side. Hint: getting on his good side involves copious amounts of alcohol. He's stern and to the point because of his military past.
Inner Personality - Otis wants love. He wants meaning. And he's afraid he'll never get it. All of his life has been an endless cycle of loss and sadness, and he resents the world because of that. He hopes to find a purpose in living. Everyone who's ever loved him has left, and he doesn't understand why. He's therefore suspicious of everyone he meets, and very mistrusting. It was a big step for him to join the group, but he only did so out of necessity.
Likes - Alcohol, cigarettes, people keeping their mouth shut, and seeing infected die.
Dislikes - Annoying people, losing friends, hangovers, and infected.
Strengths - Good at repairing cars due to his mechanic background, and has a knack for finding things. Also quite skilled with weapons and combat due to serving in the army.
Weaknesses - Drinks too much, isn't very trusting, comes off as rude, refuses to open up, and is quite out of shape.
Hobbies/Talents - Good with most guns. Likes to smoke. Loves drinking games. Enjoys practicing shooting. Loves to work on cars, and could talk about them for hours.

HISTORY
Backstory - Otis doesn't talk about his past much. Little is known. He just says he was born in Arkansas, dropped out of high school at age eighteen, and joined the military. He served in several places as an Army Ranger, and even fought in Somalia in the notorious Battle of Mogadishu. He was dishonorably discharged for intoxication and mistreatment of prisoners, and was sent back to America at age twenty-five. He moved to Indiana and became a mechanic, where he stayed in a cheap apartment and spent his days drinking and repairing cars. Not a good combination. He dated a few girls, got to know a few people, but mostly stuck to himself. He had no clue what he wanted to do with his life. And then, it all came apart. The infected came, and Otis was forced to flee the life he knew and head west. He wandered around on his own until about six months ago, when he fell in with a group led by Gideon Love, a charismatic young writer. He did so out of necessity, and plans to stick with them and find a safe haven where he can finally die. On the journey, he hopes to find a meaning in his life. Or die trying.
