Luca frowned a little more, sad at the thought of leaving Watson behind, but nervous still about other people trying to touch him. ". . . I don't know." He managed after a pause to think, upset by the difficult choice and how impossible it felt to make a decision. His answers had been given to him for so long that he never knew which one was right, even if it was only right to him.
"Oh, good," Evelyn nodded along, holding up her bag of candy a bit. "It appears I have a bit of a problem." Saying 'no' to Luca for such little things when she wanted him to experience everything new was more difficult than she had imagined.
When Garrett started to walk, Luca carefully pulled Watson's leash up into his hand until he had the loop at the end, then got to his feet and meekly held it out to Anthony for him to take. The younger man would keep Watson safe, and deal with the people he didn't know how to talk to. He was too inadequate for holding on to something so important.
Evelyn turned to follow after Garrett, though her attention still drifted backwards every few seconds to be sure Anthony and Luca were following. "Not used to walking with a crowd?" She prodded good-naturedly at Garrett for his speed. "You'll have to remember to do a headcount before you get going."
