Padma was jumped at Victor's words. Her face turned completely and utterly
red. She could not manage to say anything, all she could do was stare up at him.
Into the azure eyes that seemed to hold her there, her face began to burn when he
hugged her. Salty, who had still been laying across her shoulders, began to meow his
protest. Time seemed to stand in place there she hesitantly began to raise her arms
and just as she managed the courage to wrap them around him in return there was a
sudden voice from below them and the veering of an engine. In front of the building
somebody was there.

Victor tore himself away from her gaze reluctantly at the sound of the car down below. Who could possibly be here at tthis hour? He stepped over too the edge and peered down into the dark. "What was that?"

From below them came a small light as whoever had arrived turned on a flashlight.
He flashed the light to one side then the other and then along the building, stopping
just short of the roof where they stood. They stood still for a moment then began to
pace back and forth until he turned suddenly towards the woods behind him where
another figure came from the brush. The first one began stomping their foot and yelling
at the other. The figure was not phased however and lifted some kind of trunk they
were carrying to the other man. Padma watched feeling uneasy, Salty's showed signs
of trouble when he puffed up and gave a very silent hiss. "I think we should leave."
Padma whispered eyes still fixated on the people below.

"No." He responded, holding his hand out to the side. "He can't see us up here, this is the twentieth floor." He told her. He crouched down and watched the men closely. "Someone's got a big box. Looks like their arguing. I can't make out what they're saying. "

Padma looked at Victor then back at the figures below, worry biting
at her mind. She simply nodded and then crouched down beside him and
continued to watch the strangers below, Salty still raising his fur. Below the
two talked for a moment their words unclear.

The first man was fairly large with shaggy hair and tattoos covering
all over what skin he exposed. The most particular tattoo that stood out
was that of a snake wrapped around his neck. The tattooed man did
not look pleased he was obviously not the patient type as he crossed
his arms and continued to tap his left foot on the paved cement of the
building's parking lot. "So where is the rest, huh?" he said examining
the contents of the case the other man had just opened. The second
man was more calm and laid back, he was smaller and thinner than the
other man with slicked back hair and was more patient and collected.
"You will receive the rest of the payment when you have completed
the rest of the request, Mr. Higgins." The smaller man said with a a
smile. Higgins frowned and clenched his fist, he was ready to sock
in the face of the other man but stopped the man gave him a very
harsh and cold stare that did not fit with his smile. "Fine!" Higgins
snatched the chest and went back to his car just as he was ready
to take off he rolled down his window and glared at the man.
"I better get that money!" he snapped. Then the car pulled out
and disappeared into the night. things remained silent the smaller
man continued to stand there a grin on his face. Suddenly the man
looked up into the darkness and fixed his eyes on the roof of the building
his gaze remained there for a minute before he himself turned to
disappear.

Victor listened to the faint voices, though most of the conversation was swept away by the high altitude winds. From what he could tell, there was some dispute between the two men. Given the secluded natureof their location, he inferred that these two men must be involved in some lucrative doings.
"Looks like we've found yourself some ne'er-do-gooders." He said to Padma.

He stood on the railing and leaned over the edge. "Long way down." He said. Still, he felt an unnaturally strong urge to jump right off the edge. He thought better of it however and turned away from the ledge. "Come on, lets go home." He said to Padma, taking her hand again.

Padma nodded solemnly. She felt unease at the sight of the two men.
Especially the shorter man, something about him gave her the creepers,
she could not clearly see either man but something about him was not right.
She unconsciously tightened her grip on Victor's hand as she thought about it
she took on last glance behind her at the parking lot lit by the pale light of the
moon. She shivered and then turned back to where she was. She let go of his
hand suddenly her face red.
"I-I-i'm sorry!"

Victor stepped quietly into the room after Padma, shutting The door behind him softly. He pulled his hood away from his face and smiled. "What a night its been.. " he said out loud.
He walked to the windows and looked out at the moonwashed landscape. "Looksa lot different down here." He remarked. Turning his back to the window, he placed his palms against the sill and looked at her through the dark. His eyes gleamed azure as he looked at her.
"You still look the same. How perfect." He said with a smile. He kept his eyes fixed upon her. The girl that helped him. His only friend. He felt a need to be close when he looked at her.

Padma, upon entering the room, gently placed the sleeping ball that was Salty onto the bed and poked his
nose, smiling when the cat's nose twitched in response.
Quite the night she thought in agreement looking back
at their little adventure. Padma smiled and looked back at that starry sky, now somewhat different then when she
saw it up from the building. As she turned to look at Victor, wanting to thank him again, she found her self frozen.
She was caught in his gaze, drawn in by that sea of azure that now gleamed under the moonlight. Padma quickly
bowed her head at his words, though unsure to their meaning her face became beat red.
"A-ah! I-it's g-getting l-late! You should probably go before you get caught." Padma
sputtered, as she began to become dizzy with her own embarrassment. She did not
know why she felt this way but, it was getting worse by the minute as she became
more conscious.

Victor noticed her sway on her feet. He stepped closer to her, holding out his hands. "Are you alright?" He asked her.Padma looked ready to tip over.

"Ah! I-I-m al-" Padma stumbled backward in surprise as she spoke as he approached.
In only a moment she found herself tipping off balance and falling backwards into the carpet.

Victor took a dive as she began to tip over, grabbing for her or something. He missed, and as a byproduct of him surrendering his balance, he fell to te ground as well, his chin hitting the ground hard. His vision flashed yellow and red out completely. Sensation faded as he lost consciousness from the impact.

Padma was up just as she fell she rushed to Victor's side. "H-hey! Are you alright?!"
she looked at him concern growing. After a long moment of panic and attempt of rousing
him she pulled herself together. She could not have him leave like this, even if he did wake
up. She mustered up all her strength and pulled him up onto her bed . She looked at him
her heart heavy with guilt. She blamed herself for her clumsiness. She brushed the hair from
his face, and then after a moment covered him with a blanket she had kept in her wardrobe,
as she was unable to pull the covers out from under him, as she did not wish to move him
anymore than he had been.

Victor dreamed of darkness, faintly lit by nebulous dust clouds and distant stars. His view raced toward a planet, wherein he witnessed two simultaneously impacts. In turn, the planet surrendered to flames and crumbled to pieces, shuddering silently in the dead of space.
And from within the planet emerged a man. That man was Victor, baptized in the death thoroughs of the planet. Surrounded by azure embers, he rose from the cosmic corpse and in a flash of flames, he was gone.
Victor opened his eyes to feel Padma's hand on is forhead. And within himself, he ffelt fear...

"Are you alright?" Padma asked softly. She was relieved when she
saw his eyes open.
He had been out for a little over thirty minutes, but it
had felt much much longer. Padma leaned back a moment and quickly
wiped her eyes with her sleeve.
"It looked like you were having a nightmare."

Victor sat up and looked at her. "Wh-what are we doing...?" He asked hazily. He looked around the room. Nothing looked the same as it did before. There wasn't any change, there was just an inconsolable feeling that nothing here belonged. Nothing was natural. He looked down at himself and suddenly felt very out of place. He was alone. Completely alone in this artificial world. He looked at her again and reached for the only familiarity he knew..

Padma looked at him with concern. "Victor..?" she watched as he sat up and turned to examine his surroundings.
She was just about to extend her own hand to him when he turned back to her and she withdrew unsure.
Padma's heart began to thud as she looked at him and her face apple red she quickly looked away in hopes
of hiding it.
What's wrong with me? she thought trying to knock back this strange sensation. She shook her head
and turned back to him.
"How are you feeling?" she asked as she thought of the that moment he had passed out,
she could not believe how relieved she was that he woke up... she thought she had lost someone again. Without
thinking she had placed her hand on his forehead feeling for a temperature, only to have her own rise.

He touched her arm and closed his eyes. He could feel her warmth beneith his fingertips. Her skin felt real. Natural. He breathed out a sigh and stroked her arm. "I'm okay," he said reassuringly.

Padma was not completely convinced but did not say anymore.
She was just happy he was okay. She would have began to
blush furiously in that way she did, as her heart would skip
at his touch but instead her eyelids fell heavy and her mind
hazed as her body began to feel weariness from the day's
excitement. Without a thought or a moment's notice slowly
her head began to droop, and she found herself asleep. Her
head rested on the bed as the rest of her leaned over the
side, her legs curled on the floor.

Victor pet her hair until she fell asleep, then pulled her up onto the bed. He tucked her in, then climbed out the window, jumping out into the cool night air...
