"Oni-chan! Wake up, wake up! You've got to go to school." cheered a not taller than three foot, ten year old girl. Kaiden churned under his covers, gripping his pillows into his face desperate to resist waking. "Misuki, it's Saturday, I don't have school!" he growled. Misuki pouted and hopped into bed with her old brother, she tugged off his covers and started jumping near his torso, chanting as she went. "Wake~Up! Wake~Up! Wake~Up!" It was not use any longer, Kaiden was awake, but that didn't mean she'd go free for it. Just as his eyes popped open, he flipped over and began tickling her sides. Misuki gave out and fell off the bed with a loud 'oof' following. "No fair!" she shouted, popping back up to her feet. Kaiden stuck out his tongue with a smirk, then ran for the bathroom. In a matter of minutes he had brushed his teeth, washed his face, and went back to his room to pick up Misuki. He activated his tail and used it to lift Misuki onto his shoulders, looking up at her with a smile. "So, why did you really wake me up today?" he asked. "You promised to be my butler for the day, remember?" "Right, because of report card. Well, a promise is a promise.... But first, you're gonna help me with a couple things." he chuckled. Misuki pouted and pulled his orange locks, "You're no fair, big brother!" He smiled brightly and walked down to the kitchen.
An hour had passed, and within they had made breakfast, got dressed, and were out the door on a day out. Kaiden didn't mind waking up this early for this day due to he and his sister's circumstances. Their parents were killed years ago, two years after his sister's birth. They were still around long enough to learn what they are, what they're capable of, and how to use it to their secrecy.
"Brother, look!" she shouted, looking through the window of a clothing store. She spotted a mannequin with a necklace of a dragon wrapped around a sword. "Can I have it?" she begged. Kaiden was in luck, as was she, since he'd been saving up his money just for such an occasion. Just as he reached for his wallet, he caught a familiar scent--thin but but he found it. Just then he clamped down on his sister's legs to keep her braced on his shoulders, then ran through the surrounding crowd following the aroma. It led him through a dark alley, then went across the street from there. Misuki flailed her arms in panic as Kaiden slowed down for nothing, coming to the speeding traffic of the next street, she shouted "Watch ou-AHHHHHHH!!!" Kaiden kicked the ground off his heel and leaped over the road, landing safely to the other side. Impatiently locking on to the scent, he dashed to his right, then his left around the next corner as he came to stop at the back door of what seemed like a broken down factory. The lot was empty, at least until the door came gliding open, and behind it was the center of the stench. They smelled like he and Misuki, were carrying eggs, and were dressed in unfamiliar attire.
"Brother who are they... I'm scared." "It'll be OK, Misuki." Kaiden took her down from his shoulders and hid her behind his right leg, naturally she grabbed hold of his pants.
