Violet held the egg carefully, her anger ebbing away. "Where to now?" She asked.

"Well, we go here, then turn here, then go through two doors until we reach here. Then we turn left and keep on going until we reach the elevators. Simple." Elyssa said, tracing her finger along the routes. Then she turned and began running through the multiple halls, checking the map now and then. Finally they got to the elevator. Elyssa was out of breath, and had to catch her breath before saying, "We're here."

Violet nodded. "Okay." She followed closely behind Elyssa, holding the egg as gently as possible. When they reached the elevator he leaned against the wall. "Good." She panted.

Elyssa looked at the elevator. It was a simple curved door in the wall, suggesting that the elevator was circular. A metal grate covered the door, and next to the door was a panel containing a single button. Elyssa pressed the button, and immediately the grate slid sideways and the door opened. She took a deep breath, and stepped in. The elevator was considerably larger than she thought it was on the inside, plenty enough room for the three halflings.

Violet followed Elyssa in and stood as close the the wall as she could, making sure the egg was safe. She glanced around the elevator and took a deep breath. As much as she hated them, she felt okay in this one. She had an egg to protect, she had two people like her, and the king was down. Everything seemed to be okay.

Elyssa pushed a button, and the elevator started to rise. The doors closed, and Elyssa finally felt like they were going to get out. Like they were going to be safe. She blew out a relieved breath and leaned against the wall, staying there until the elevator stopped with a jolt. It opened to reveal a....hallway. That was it. A plain, white corridor with no doors, except for one at the end. That was the door to freedom. She knew it.

Violet felt her heart bubble up when the doors open. This is it.. She thought, waiting to follow Elyssa to freedom. Just down the hall.. One door. She could practically feel the fresh air on her face as she held the egg close

Elyssa reached the door, and she didn't hesitate to turn the handle. No more hesitations, just freedom. She opened the door. Beyond it was..freedom. She saw the outside, a lawn, a parking lot, trees. Elyssa ran outside, laughing. "We made it! Haha! We defeated the king! We did it!"

"Oni-chan! Wake up, wake up! You've got to go to school." cheered a not taller than three foot, ten year old girl. Kaiden churned under his covers, gripping his pillows into his face desperate to resist waking. "Misuki, it's Saturday, I don't have school!" he growled. Misuki pouted and hopped into bed with her old brother, she tugged off his covers and started jumping near his torso, chanting as she went. "Wake~Up! Wake~Up! Wake~Up!" It was not use any longer, Kaiden was awake, but that didn't mean she'd go free for it. Just as his eyes popped open, he flipped over and began tickling her sides. Misuki gave out and fell off the bed with a loud 'oof' following. "No fair!" she shouted, popping back up to her feet. Kaiden stuck out his tongue with a smirk, then ran for the bathroom. In a matter of minutes he had brushed his teeth, washed his face, and went back to his room to pick up Misuki. He activated his tail and used it to lift Misuki onto his shoulders, looking up at her with a smile. "So, why did you really wake me up today?" he asked. "You promised to be my butler for the day, remember?" "Right, because of report card. Well, a promise is a promise.... But first, you're gonna help me with a couple things." he chuckled. Misuki pouted and pulled his orange locks, "You're no fair, big brother!" He smiled brightly and walked down to the kitchen.

An hour had passed, and within they had made breakfast, got dressed, and were out the door on a day out. Kaiden didn't mind waking up this early for this day due to he and his sister's circumstances. Their parents were killed years ago, two years after his sister's birth. They were still around long enough to learn what they are, what they're capable of, and how to use it to their secrecy.

"Brother, look!" she shouted, looking through the window of a clothing store. She spotted a mannequin with a necklace of a dragon wrapped around a sword. "Can I have it?" she begged. Kaiden was in luck, as was she, since he'd been saving up his money just for such an occasion. Just as he reached for his wallet, he caught a familiar scent--thin but but he found it. Just then he clamped down on his sister's legs to keep her braced on his shoulders, then ran through the surrounding crowd following the aroma. It led him through a dark alley, then went across the street from there. Misuki flailed her arms in panic as Kaiden slowed down for nothing, coming to the speeding traffic of the next street, she shouted "Watch ou-AHHHHHHH!!!" Kaiden kicked the ground off his heel and leaped over the road, landing safely to the other side. Impatiently locking on to the scent, he dashed to his right, then his left around the next corner as he came to stop at the back door of what seemed like a broken down factory. The lot was empty, at least until the door came gliding open, and behind it was the center of the stench. They smelled like he and Misuki, were carrying eggs, and were dressed in unfamiliar attire.

"Brother who are they... I'm scared." "It'll be OK, Misuki." Kaiden took her down from his shoulders and hid her behind his right leg, naturally she grabbed hold of his pants.

Elyssa sighed and lay down on the grass. "Ahh, I missed you, dirt." Then she looked up as she sensed something odd. Another...prescence. She looked towards the doors to the facility, but it wasn't coming from there. "Vi, there's someone else here. And it's not one of us." Elyssa stiffened and looked around, and she didn't see the man come up behind her. "Another halfling." He said, making her jump. Elyssa turned to look at him. "And how do you know that?" The man shrugged. "My name's David, by the way." Elyssa stood up, and waved in the direction she felt the prescense from. "Hello?" Elyssa glanced towards the egg, wanting to keep it safe from whatever harm may come.

Violet, once reaching the fresh air, did nothing but sit down, make a circle with her legs and set the egg gentle in the circle before running her hands in the dirt and grass, smiling. She nodded at Elyssa. "Yeah. There is." She was looking in the direction the feeling originated from. When David told his name, she nodded to show she heard.

Traffic resonated along the barriers of the buildings making the everlasting drown of city everyday chaos sing loud and clear. So many people milled their way around the blocks, lost in their own self righteous thoughts never thinking there was possibly more to their hum droll lives than what was beyond the slope of their nose.

A concrete prison for those whom we sought the outstretching skies and lands, the restrictions far wider than any bars could hold but a prison no less.

And yet she lurked here still knowing this viable fact with a grin and a glint in her gaze. She had been following the peculiar sensation for a bit, often loosing track to various other things that caught her interest long enough to put a damper in her step, it never took too long to get another familiar tinge to put her back to track.

Nimble feet transverse the concrete under her loose laced shoes, side stepping here, window shopping there until she began to find the cat's fable curiosity taking a keen hold forcing her focus to become acute. It only solidified in bounds catching the briefest of peripheral visions of what might have seemed like a speedy sort of blur. Perhaps she could have ruled it out to that without a secondary thought but with other people seeming to stop, look and then shake their heads trying to grasp the unlikelihood of what just transpired, she thought differently.

Brows lifted with a coy intent, falling a fair distance back to keep her own scent at bay she slunk along finding the twists and turns to creep upwards to the looming surrounding buildings. All the scents, all the unusual unfamiliar sensations tingled across the mortal flesh of her own body as she hung back to find a steel fire escape to one of the other buildings that seemed to be clustered around the run down factory; Spirit used the fire escape to climb up to the rooftop.

Feeling more of a spy than a curious sort, she crept and perched up on the ledge peering downwards with a silent thought as if she was watching a movie just being filmed.

Beneath the looming topsides looking downwards, it was evident there were five there. All varying in sizes, styles - well two seemed to be trying to make an unusual fashion statement with their odd escape insanity house patient's, the other two were dressed about as casually as herself. But that was hardly her wonder, it was the peculiar nature that had been echoing from them all at least from what she could tell.

Crouching on the risen rooftop ledge a palm held her chin, the childlike wonder and glee placing upon her lips. "Such an oddity of a brood." she mused to herself watching skywards not to be involved quite yet. It would have been foolish to think perhaps they were friendly sorts or not, so she would be the one to watch and wait.
