SONNY
✹ "quote" ✹ 3/6 ✹ in pursuit ✹
Amber eyes scanned the darkness, a shadowed entity raced in and out of the trees as if it were merely traveling electricity - she'd never known of a ghost type to be so fast! Aerodactyl was known for it's speed above all stats yet it was matched, dare she say outmatched, by this creature's evasion tactics which were so unlike something in the wild. And she didn't want to make things personal, but she felt like this gengar was teasing them instead of trying to escape, which was so like their nature.
It's gone?!
"Aero, land." Silently, the formerly fossilized creature descended from above the canopy of extended pine branches, kicking up the surrounding leaves and perching itself on the damp earth with a slight thud. Slipping of it's back, Sonny took it's snout in her hands, stroking along the rigid jawline as she waited for her team to regroup. First came Greninja, emitted only a brief gurgle to signal it's arrival, perched just among the branches above it's trainer. Scizor had actually been there for a while, the moonlight gleam in it's eye giving it's position away. "Tired?" She asked, though neither answered it was her responsibility to determine whether or not it was wise to pursue. "Any idea where it went? My dexnav shut off a long time ago, must be the electromagnetic energy these spirits always mess up electronics with."
The silence was deafening - all she could hear with it were the deep exhales from the winged beast beside her, and her own heart beat drumming in her ears. The adrenaline made her feel more drained than it should - all of their pride combined made for one straight hour of endless pursuit, and the fact that they had no idea if they'd even hit the damn thing made it hard to turn away. "My fault for chasing something in a forest this big, I never expected Illex to have so much to it - then again, they did put fences along the pathways to remind people it's not safe to wander. When did they ever mind precautions, though?
Fishing around in her bag which was strapped to the beasts neck, she tossed the bipedal pair a soda, then holding out a snack for Aero, which he took gratefully. "Guess we'll start heading back, it's been a few minutes and nothings..."
She stopped for a moment, mouth slightly agape, watching as something small poked its head out of the audience of shrubs. "False alarm, just a paras," the small insect grumbled something and went about it's business. "I think that gengar is gone - which is a shame - breeders would have killed for something so fast."
