Military Description:
The Colonial Military is almost completely comprised of their navy. The Children have absolutely no infantry or cavalry divisions, though they do boast some of the best assassins and spies in the known galaxy, assisted by advanced drone technology, and, of course, their famous poisons, and their intelligence community is highly skilled and equipped.
Navy Description:
The Colonial Navy consists of a single, enormous starship, the Sea-Spere, and it's multitude of fighters, bombers and other small utility ships such as support freighters and transport shuttles.
Ship Descriptions:
Sea-Sphere: 3857 meters in diameter. WIP
Ponds: A general name for any number of different size and shape of transport, freighter and carrier housed by the Sea-Spere.
Puddles: Puddles support the much more numerous Rain-Drops, drawing fire by simultaneously acting as mobile artillery, armor and bulwark. Though reasonably speedy while in space, the craft lacks the thrusters to escape orbit, and thus is unable to enter a planets atmosphere. Ponds are spherical, generally between 9 to 12 meters in diameter. The craft are fitted with four prehensile turret arms that extend from the top, bottom and both sides of the ship. The turrets sport coil cannons from 50 mm all the way up to long range, high impact 90 mm guns.
Rain-Drops: The only non-spherical ships in the Colonial navy, the countless Rain-Drops aboard the Sea-Sphere both serve as the dreadnaught's strike force and first line of defense, able to be immediately scrambled in the event of an attack. The Rain-Drop, unlike the Puddle or the Sea-Sphere, is able to enter and escape the atmosphere of most planets, and is even equipped with landing gear. From tip to tail the Rain-Drop measures just 3 meters in length, and lacks armor of any note, but boasts a superior thrust and speed compared to most other fighters, as well as considerable maneuverability. The fighter sports twin multi-directional 31mm coilgun turrets that stow away on either side of the craft.
Droplets: When traveling on other planets or starships, Children utilize a very small form of aircraft known as a Droplet. The Droplet, unlike the Rain-Drop, is perfectly spherical, apart from two small protrusions on either side which house small rotors. Like all craft used by the Children, it is filled with water, and provides a comfortable, if cramped, temporary living space for them while away from home. The small spheres range from utilitarian vehicles just under one meter in diameter, to luxury models a few meters in diameter. From their sleek hulls many small drones and utility arms can sent out to manipulate and interact with the environment, and can even be outfitted with weaponry, though this is rare.

Species Application
Species Name: "Brilliant-Children-of-Expanse", also known colloquially/disparagingly as "Children", "Kids" and "Mollusks". In casual conversation, they themselves usually modify the title to either "The Brilliant" or "Those-of-Expanse", though the former is usually seen as pompous, even among their own kind.
Species Appearance:
The Children are a highly advance form of sea mollusk from the planet Expanse, having evolved as the only sapient species in the solar system. The Species grows from about 30 to 50 centimeters long, with the males being about the same size as the females. Early in the life of their species, they set themselves apart by making many evolutionary adjustments to their originally rudimentary form. First, they branched out their single foot into many dexterous arms and tentacles; eight arms are used for manuveuring and manipulation, while two longer tentacles are mainly used for eating.
The species' next development was innarrguably it's most important; an amazing ability to change color and shape at will, in a wide array of pigments and forms. This at first allowed them to become amazing camoflauge artists, but, eventually, allowed them to create a form of communication that still lasts to this day as their only form of conversation, a form of body/written language using their bodies as the canvass. Forming various textures and and projecting brilliant displays of changing colors, they were able to eventually formulate a language that allowed them to intelligently communicate with each other for the sake of organization, further increasing their stature on their world.
Species Culture:
As they became more and more intelligent, the Children-of-Expanse developed an affinity for seeking out and harnessing different poisonous plants and animals in order to extract the poisons for the use of hunting and defense. With the proliferation of small poisoned barbs as a defense against larger predators and the eventual advent of "poison camoflauge", the act of disguising oneself as a poisonous creature by flashing bright yellows and reds on a black background, the Children finally secured their place as their worlds indisputably dominant species.
