Appearance The pale Yongrui stands confidently with his 5'10 height. His lean and muscular build is often seen wearing long, dark, sometimes flowing robes with black leather boots to match. Outside, his broad shoulders are draped with an oversized, dark fur cape with large hood; as someone who travels a lot this is ideal for shielding himself from the sun, or to camouflage his scent with that of decay and blood which always lingers in the thick fur. His braided straight, dark hair comes down to his tailbone with a headband to keep his long bangs out of the way. Beneath the heavy fabrics however, lies the tale of abuse, gang wars, and piracy. Not a body part is spared of the reminders that this man refuses to die. And all fall prey to his devilish charm with dark eyes that flare red when the predator comes out.
He specializes in Death (and Undeath) but also 'Spiritwork'. Basically reaching into the afterlife or summoning creatures from the Spirit World.
Spiritwork is ritualistic instead of instant spellcasting.

Yongrui has a smuggling business while posing as transportation business. The Black Cicada.
His entourage are a handful of Vampires, and a decent amount of living who either await the gift of Vampirism or simply mind their own business as long as the coin flows. Another handful servant deal with menial labor like cooking and cleaning, etc.
Yongrui doesn't use mind control or charming, instead he's trained himself to shield his mind from others.
Yongrui is well aware of Iva's secret magic learning. He feigns ignorance out of curiosity and amusement.
Biography His childhood was quite predictable considering his career choice. Born to a prostitute in Chanyi, father unknown, he quickly got into the habit of causing mischief; theft, blackmail, and voyeurism for example. At the brothel he grew up in he was known to be a favorite to some and a nuisance to others. So when his mother caught the peeping tom with the girls again she decided it was time he left the nest.
The young teen was then introduced to a harsh life of abuse and bloodshed, sailing the Chanyi seas where he learned to be ruthless against his enemies first and his friends second. Because in a world where the waters flow with riches you had no friends. He quickly took to piracy and rose through the ranks till he led the Black Cicada himself through a clever coup of sabotage, sorcery, and plot twists.
And as it was a woman who sent him to the underworld; a woman who helped him discover sorcery; it's only fitting that it was a woman who gave him the gift of Vampirism.
The first couple of decades were the most chaotic and bloodiest times as a new vampire. The transition from man to beast was difficult even for him. But once he learned to control his bloodlust and had a better understanding of what kind of monster he had turned into he focused his attention to expanding the Black Cicada.
He expanded his reach across Chanyi and even has chapters established along the Silken Road. It was along this road that he heard rumors of a thriving Princedom of Vampires. He showed no interest at first because there was always a vampire somewhere who claimed to be the King of something. But the closer to Lescatia he got, the more curious he got. Appearance
This scrawny mouse of a girl stands at 5'4 in height and moves as quiet and inconspicuous as you'd expect of someone who exists just to feed their masters. She's often seen wearing dull gray wool dresses with questionable stains and worn black shoes. When outside she wears the black, woolen hooded cape gifted by her master. The master wants her to take care of her health; for Blood Slaves with an iron will like hers are hard to come by. Her eyes almost match her auburn hair which has soft waves that reach the middle of her back and is mostly kept loose. It is during bathday you'll see that being a Blood Slave is not as romantic as these naive farm girls think it is. Her skin is marred with vicious bitemarks and scratches like that of an animal; not two dainty red points. Some are old and fading, and others painfully fresh.
Iva is secretly learning Fire magic to defend herself against vampires should the day arrive she'd no longer needed.
She leads the other Blood Slaves by example.
Biography
Iva's childhood like many was uneventful. She had loving parents who dreamt about their daughter finding a gentle husband one day and running a farm just like they did. She had adorable siblings who cried when their pet chicken was served for dinner until they fell in love with another animal on the farm or one they found in the woods.
She was still a child when that fateful day happened. Bandits had raided the farm, killed her parents and captured her siblings. Iva tried to run but she too was captured. What happened next is still blurry to her. She along with other captives were sold to a group of foreigners; she got separated from her siblings that day and never saw them again.
Human trafficking wasn't uncommon along the edges of civilization but to be sold to a group of vampires was...different. She's been a servant of Yongrui and his entourage ever since. She learned quite a bit about Vampirism under his scrutinous gaze. She understands her place, she understands their needs, but also their weaknesses.
A secret encounter with an aging witch has taught her the arts of Fire Magic.
