A 50% Chance of Zombies

Kira sighed with relief when she saw the clear coast, but the sigh caught in her throat as she heard the window break. She quickly rushed out the door and looked around, waiting for Miyamoto to come out. "Come on," she said, pointing to the fence. "We can get over it and try to get into the next house," she whispered.

Miyamoto wasted no time in following her out the door. "Yeah, It doesn't seem that they are any zombies around that area either." He stopped and dug in his bag, then took out a single bullet. He looked to his right and a pole just off the side view of the house. He cocked his arm back, and then tossed the bullet. It floated in the air for moments, closing in on the pole and then hitting it with a loud clanging sound. The noise in the house ceased and he could see the zombies head in that direction. "That will buy us some time!" He said, turning back in the opposite direction and dashing for the house.

She nodded and watched as zombies started heading toward the sound. She pulled his arm gently, then headed to the fence. She jumped and began pulling herself over the fence.

Once Kira was over the fence, he climbed up and over the fence. He landed lightly on his feet and took a look back. The zombies were now heading back towards them, due to the noise they made climbing the fence. He stood up straight and dashed again. "Kira, lets go! We're almost there!"

She quickly ran after him, her breath coming out short and shallow. Kira was starting to debate whether or running was worth it. They'd be found anyway, wouldn't they? She sighed a little, but continued to follow him quickly.

The house was getting closer, but he could feel as if Kira was getting a bit slower on her running. He looked back and could see her stumbling a little. Hang in there, the house is close....He said to himself, turning his attention back on the house. They had finally made it after a few more minutes of running. Miyamoto stopped and bent over, gasping for air. Once he caught his breath, he checked the door to see if it was open. They were in luck once again. The dor was unlocked. He looked back at Kira. "The door is open! We can get inside!"

They finally made it to the house and Kira sighed. "The door is open! We can get inside!" Miyamoto said.

Kira nodded and said a half-hearted "Great." They went into the house and locked up the doors.

She slid to the floor and leaned her head back, sighing again.

Miyamoto breathed heavily, as he dropped to his knees. Even though they were safe, he still couldn't help but shudder with fear. Just one bite, and they would be just like the others. He couldn't bear to see anymore people like that. It was all too much. Miyamoto stood up and looked at Kira. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," she said quietly. Kira's head was bowed and her legs were sprawled out as she sat on the floor. "I'm fine," Kira repeated.

Miyamoto looked at Kira and nodded. They had survived yet again, but the lack of sleep was taking its toll. His body felt shaky and his energy felt like it was depleted. The sensation of dizziness washed over him and he dropped to his left knee. It had also been quite some time when he had eaten as well. He placed his hand on his knee and hoisted himself up. "Kira, lets make sure that we lock everything down and this time, we will make sure they don't get to us."

Slowly, Kira nodded and lifted herself to her feet. "Alright," she said. She checked the door they had just come in through, then began going through the rest of the house.

Miyamoto watched as She dissapeared down the hallway. He moved the curtains from around the door and looked outside. The zombies seemed to stop now that the noise had ceased. They roamed around in any and every direction. He shook his head and sighed deeply. They needed help and there seemed to be no helicopters, or even a police force. He turned away from the door and headed down the hallway.

Kira bumped into Miyamoto in the hallway. "All of the doors and windows are locked, seems like the only one that was open was that back door," she told him, her voice still somewhat quiet. "I didn't find anything else," Kira said. "How does it look outside, any signs of other... Not-zombie people?"

Miyamoto walked through the halls looking around at all the various doors. He checked rooms and the windows in those rooms. Each window was firmly shut, and all the others that weren't, were closed and locked tight. The atmosphere was still eerie, even in the comfort of shelter. After checking the last door, he walked back down the hall towards the front room, but bumped into Kira. He was relieved that it was only her and not a zombie. His heart practically jumped out of his chest when she bumped him.

He cleared his throat and pulled the bag strap back on his shoulder, as it sat on the edge of it. "Everything was clear for me as well. But, we still have to be on our guard, their may be others who have been infected." When the last word lingered off of his lips, he could hear banging on the front door and a woman screaming. Miyamoto looked back at the front entrance and beads of sweat formed.

"Oh god," Kira said, jumping behind him as she heard someone screaming. "Oh god, now what?" she whispered, looking towards the front door. "She'll attract them but... We can't just leave her outside..."

Miyamoto gritted his teeth and made a fist. He made no effort in answering Kira, and opened the door for the woman. They quickly rushed inside and the zombies were on there way to the house. Miyamoto quickly shut off the lights and locked the door tight. "Be quiet," his voice resonated softly and calmly. The woman quiet down and covered her mouth. Miyamoto could hear the zombies coming closer. They banged on the door and they moaned loudly.

Kira backed up against the wall, hiding in the shadows as she heard the zombies banging on the door. This is it, she thought, We're done here. Kira knelt down next to the woman who had come in, putting a hand on her shoulder.

Miyamoto was relieved that the two ladies were cooperating so well. It made it much more easier to focus. Pretty soon, the banging had stopped, but the groans and moans still remained. Miyamoto could hear something that sounded like a garbage can, crash. Afterwards, the sound of a hissing cat echoed. Miymoto blinked twice, before looking out the window. Just off into the distance, left of the house was just what he thought it was. A garbage can had been knocked over by a cat. It was most likely off balanced, but whatever the case was, they were safe. He dimmed the lights a bit and looked at the women. "It is okay now, we are safe." He said, in a relieving voice.

Kira looked up at him, sighing with relief as the banging stopped. She pulled her hand away and glanced at the woman. She tried to smile a little at the woman, who seemed extremely shaken. She stood up and turned away again and turned away, walking back to the door they had come in through.

She looked out a window and leaned against the wall.

Miyamoto looked at Kira as she walked next to him. She seemed relieved and he was happy. The woman stood up quickly and walked towards him and bowed. "Thank you so much for saving me." She raised up and smiled with her eyes closed. Miyamoto blushed a little and looked off to the left. "It was um..no problem." He looked at his gun and then back at Kira, then finally at the woman again.

"My name is Miyamoto." He smiled a little. "My name is Clarise. Nice to meet you, Miyamoto." Her attention turned over to Kira. "What is your name, Ms?"
