THE BANTER BUS WENT NORTH.

BANTER WAS HAD.

Also the fiancé and I have named the wight they picked up "Chompy" and as far as I'm concerned that's fucking canon now.

Still, didn't get me as much as Tormund nearly dying.

This!! I swear I was having a panic attack watching.

I think we all kind of knew what was going to happen with the dragon, but watching it was still painful. My hubby brought up a good question though; does that make the Night King a Targaryen? Or can he control the dragon because he turned it? I would figure he'd be able to turn it, but wouldn't be able to control it without being a Targaryen.

Was anyone kind of bored with the Winterfell scenes last night? With Jon and everyone up North, it seemed almost pointless showing the drama between Sansa and Arya. I think that could have waited until next episode.

And did anyone else feel sick seeing Jon in King's Landing during the preview? I seriously felt sick to my stomach seeing it.

I don't think I ever felt SO strongly to someone almost dying o_o

I don't believe being a Targaryen matters on controlling a Dragon. Valyria before being destroyed was filled with houses that had Dragons (the Targaryen's were just the only house that made it out alive with dragons). Dragons in GRRM world basically seem to be magical 'beasts' and not intelligent like the ones you would see in Tolkein's world or D&D were they can speak, use magic and have 'alignments'.

Perhaps a person of Valyrian descent is only capable of taming a dragon (but in the history, there are non-Targ riders), but I think that since it is a beast that anyone can tame it and Valyrian's had a ton of them and only the Targaryen's were the house that survived with them. I don't think it has anything to do with them being a Targaryen though.

So short answer, yes I believe the Night King will be able to control the Dragon with ease. Also, another small tidbit, Targaryens aren't 'fireproof' at all (Viserys was burned with molten gold, Aegon II was burned in the Dance with Dragons, and Dany burned her hands when she was taming Drogon). The pyre was a one time magical deal because that is when the Dragon's hatched. In truth, the Targaryens were a lesser house of Valyria and nothing special compared to the other houses, they were just the lucky ones to live with Dragons. Dany was just able to tame the Dragons (not because she was Targ) but more because she was in the right place at the right time and they chose her as their mother. Kind of like the Direwolves and the Starks, or ducks in real life.

I'm sure Viserion can still fly and the Night King can ride him, but I'm more curious as if the Dragon will now have ice breath instead, or if it somehow still breathes fire.

A lot of thoughts on this episode.

The Good
1. The Banter was amazing. I especially loved the "The North is the South" banter Jon and Tormund had, that was perfect. XD
2. Sansa is snapping big time and falling right into Petyrs hands. I'm now highly doubting her survival in this series. It will be interesting to see her fallout.
3. Arya's pulling a Eddard in being open about her thoughts, though granted that's also in her nature.
4. HOLY FUCK LOOK AT THE NIGHT WALKER BEAR!!!
5. ICE DRAGON!!! WE'RE GONNA HAVE AN ICE DRAGON!!!
6. The Dany X Jon relationship is basically confirmed now. Though I'm wonder how the Jon is a Targ reveal will affect things.
7. Also I think Dany's putting the pieces together of Jons ressurection now. I don't want to say she knows, cause no one explained resurrection to her, but those scars show there's something up.
8. Seeing Tyrion with Dany, it's clear she cares about him (as a friend), but she really cannot take criticism well. But, she seems to be getting what he's saying, even if she's not admitting it.

The Bad
1. I feel like for the dangers the group faced they had too little casualties. And they pulled an illusion of danger by killing extras and teasing death with Tormund and Jon, but then last minute saving them. Takes away from the tension a bit. :/
2. The Night Walkers tactics were shit. You mean to tell me no one there can operate a bow? The Wights I get, but the head dudes can't? They had easy pot shots on Jon's gang. Even if we assume they intentionally left them alive to bait in the Dragons (say they knew from visions similar to the Ravens), they executed the plan poorly. They had at least two of those spears, and their first target was one of the smaller dragons flying about? Not the biggest dragon, whose a sitting target, and has the entire crew trying to get on? HIT HIM!!! Get the biggest dragon, destroy the escape attempt of everyone there, destroy the enemies sense of leadership, and then use that second spear on another dragon whose now likely swooping in to save their mother.

This reminds me... I really hope they're making obsidian arrows/bolts for bows and crossbows. >.>"

I had the same exact thought. lol

I was thinking maybe an arrow could have gotten the generals. They could have been out of range but still...

They better make a huge bolt for Icerion o_o'

I was thinking about this too. They're going to have to have an obsidian thing big enough to be shot out of the Scorpions

But more importantly, where the hell is Ghost?

So just to point out how big the Ice & Fire Theme is.

White Walkers = Ice
Rh'llor = Fire

Jon Snow = Ice
Dany = Fire

Lyanna = Ice
Rhaegar = Fire

Viserion = Fire
White Walker Viserion = Ice

I was so hoping Arya would knock the snot out of Sansa. Disappointed that she didn't.

Oh she probably will in episodes 7 and 8.
