[BCOLOR=transparent]Thalia narrowed her eyes at her brother as he once again was rude enough to take from her meal. "You know," She said sharply, reaching out to smack at his hand. "Just because you're my brother doesn't mean you can eat off my plate. I don't want your disgusting germs all over my food and drink." She was readying herself to list off every annoying thing Nicholas had ever done, to make it clear how displeased she was, when he spoke once again. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]"Have you ever considered taking things into your own hands?"[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] He asked, as he opened his hand to reveal a pack of matches. Though the manipulation of dark matter was nothing new to her, she still found herself fascinated every time it was carried out. It seemed so unfair that her brother should have the ability, while she didn't. He wasn't so special. Of course, many would argue that she was lucky to have any sort of powers, she could be normal like the commoners. This argument had no effect on her though. It was human nature, after all, to want what you couldn't have.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]For once, though, she barely seemed to give the power a passing thought, and there were no traces of jealousy on her face. She simply found [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]what [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]her brother had created [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]much[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] more interesting than [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]how[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] he had created it. Leaning farther forward, she quickly snatched the matches away from him, a small smile forming on her face. She didn't respond right away, nor did she have a chance to, as a moment later the princess of Umilo appeared.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]As Thalia stood, she wrapped her hand around the box of matches, grabbing onto the folds of her dress to ensure they wouldn't be seen. She didn't speak, but rather watched in silence as the two spoke back and forth. Though she didn't pay much attention, her annoyance was visible. Their words seemed little more than an argument disguised by polite words and sweet tones, something which she had no interest in getting involved in. Her brother was more well-versed than she, and could insult the princess much better, anyways.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Once the conversation was over, her brother once again spoke to her. [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]"Thalia? Don't waste those matches."[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] Giving a small nod in response, she uncurled her fingers away from the box of matches, tapping her thumb against it as she stared. "Hmm… yeah, sure, I won't…" She mumbled, not bothering to look up at him, as she still wasn't entirely sure she would.[/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Should she [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]really[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] use them? She'd be in a great deal of trouble if anyone found out. The most important people from the surrounding nations were present; If she were to embarrass her parents in front of them she imagined she'd receive more than harsh words. Then again, putting a pack of matches in her hand was like putting a bottle in an alcoholic's; Was it even [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]possible[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] for her to resist? The mere thought of a fire was enough to make her hands shake. On the other hand, Nick did always seemed to be getting her in trouble. If he suggested it it probably wasn't the best of ideas… Nevertheless, he was still her big brother, and she often found herself trusting his judgement, even when she probably shouldn't. This was one of those times. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]When the princess of Iqwah stepped over and began to speak, Thalia simply took a few steps away, turning so her back was to the girl and her brother. All these people speaking near her was starting to get on her nerves. Couldn't they see she was trying to think? Continuing to weigh the decision in her mind, she cast glances from the matches, to her parents, and back again; That is, until she was once again interrupted. Did these people not understand how to speak quietly? Turning her head towards the source of the distraction, the screaming Umilo prince, she was shocked by what she saw. Why… was that… her brother's hounds? How dare that nutjob do such a thing? That was it; It was decided; If they could go around doing things like [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]that[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent], then [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]she[/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent] could go around starting fires. [/BCOLOR]
[BCOLOR=transparent]Why should she have to behave if they didn't? With any luck, they'd be blamed for the fire and she would get off scot-free. Fire was one of the first things people associated the Umilos with, after all, wasn't it? Maybe if she was just careful enough… Yes, she wouldn't waste those matches. She'd use them well. Slowly heading closer to the Umilos, she tried to keep from smirking. [/BCOLOR][BCOLOR=transparent]"Whether I'm caught or not, this is going to be fun."[/BCOLOR]
