Sarah smiled and nodded as Anubis finished. "I'll see you later," seeing as it was friday today she had the weekend to spend on catching up wih her old friend. Despite seeing him only as a friend that watched out for her she couldn't help but feel he was different in a way for a few seconds befoe leavig, his cool voice and something in his posture seemed so unlike him. Although it was several years separating this Anubis from the one she knew as a child. "Don't you worry," Nate answered, seemingly unaffected by the serious words.
Later that evening Sarah had parted with Nate and was helping her mother to prepare dinner, she'd much rather have stayed at Nate's but her family had always been of the idea that everyone in the family should eat together and on specific times. "You'll never guess who I bumped into today," she said placing a bowl of steeming pasta on the table. "Probably not," her mother said as she scurried back into the kitchen to fetch the sallad. "Do you remember Anubis?" She asked, taking a seat by the table opposite her father who'd just put down the last plate. "Of course," her mother came back to the dining room. "That boy you always insisted on spending time with."
"Well, he's just moved into town," she said with a smile. "To one of those houses just outside the town with the beautiful gardens." Her mother pressed her lips together, a sign she was not liking something. "What a coincidence," her father remarked, although not very fond of Anubis either he didn't really show his feelings too much about it. "Of all the places..." her mother commented dryly. Sarah rolled her eyes, perfectly aware that her mother was more disappointed than amazed, she hadn't expected anything else really.
During dinner Sarah guided the subject away from Anubis to give her parents something else to think about, no matter what they said she wasn't about to change friends because of them, but she didn't want to end up in arguments over it either.
