A single grey petal hovered in mid-air. It split into two and the two became four. The tips of petals met together along an invisible line, forming butterfly wings. Black lines radiated from the tips towards the center. They pooled together forming the body, the feelers and the head. As white eyes winked into existence, the wings flapped and strained desperately. A silver bobby pin appeared next and it lanced through the butterfly.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

The mysterious scream shook the entire area violently until the pitch black sky fissured. White light radiated through the cracks, illuminating the writhing bug shaped beings jostling in the shadows around a wide-eyed Flynn. Chunks of black glass rained from above and, as he glanced up, he caught glimpses of an oil painted sky. The garish midnight blue and cartoony yellow swirls reminded him of Van Gogh's The Starry Night.

Where was he? Last he remembered he was - why couldn't he remember? His thoughts were a jumbled mess, and he found himself staring at the night sky, not knowing why he was there or what he was doing.

Something about Anna.

Worried thoughts made his head pound, it was getting hard to breathe, and something... something was horribly, horribly wrong. Think. Flynn repeated over and over again, but nothing came to him. He wanted to believe wholeheartedly that it was some realistic nightmare, but the fear that rendered him speechless felt all too real to be anything else.

There was a car, an accident, Anna.

The puzzle pieces fell into place, and Flynn was afraid.

Was Anna okay? Why wasn't he at the hospital? Questions kept coming as he stared at the strangeness around him. The place was both familiar and unfamiliar. The wooden docks beneath his feet, the cityscape behind him, the ocean before him - he was at the harbor.

Why he was at the harbor, he didn't know. The world was a hazy blur of shadows and white noise and he crept timidly towards the edge of the wooden walkway to see what was happening around him.

Regret.

Instead of ships sailing into the night, Flynn noticed a body floating in the water. It was a girl, someone who looked no older than Anna. He felt his throat tighten as his knees began to shake.

Something wasn't right.

"H-he-help me. HELP ME!"

Flynn spun around to see a hooded figure darting across the city behind him, racing past buildings as a dark apparition followed after them.

Something landed in front of him. His blue eyes opened in shock, as the shadowy mass elongated before his eyes. The thing stretched upwards like a person standing up from a crouched position. The red eyes and insane smile on the girl's face made him backpedal slowly. He held his hands out in front of his face protectively in case she decided to pounce. Step by step, she pushed him towards the edge of the harbour. He stood there with nothing but dark water stretching behind him and a drop steep enough to break several bones. He glanced behind nervously.

A chilling laugh brushed against his ear, making the frightened young man dropped his arms to the side and clenched his hands into fists. He squeezed them so tightly that he could feel sweat collecting between the cracks of his fingers. Don't look. Don't look. He kept telling himself not to open his eyes to no avail. His eyes flew open reflexively.

"Ding dong, I've found you!"

He opened his mouth to scream, as clawed hand closed over his face. He took the last step backwards and tumbled over the edge. The last he remembered was seeing the creepy faced girl staring at him while he plunged to his doom.

"Waaaaaaaaaaah!"

His eyes flew open suddenly. The only things registering in his mind was a weight pressing down on his chest and shadowy hands waving in front of his face. Seeing the latter made his heart leap to his throat. Flynn flailed around wildly trying to upset the person sitting on him before he bolted upright. He sat there gasping while sweat dripped down his face. He was so lost in his adrenaline-fueled haze that he barely noticed the sound of a small body hitting the floor near his bed.

A tiny child close to a year old lay on the floor stunned. His blue eyes stared blankly at the ceiling before he noticed the pain flaring from his head down his back. Tears started forming at the corners of his eyes. Before long, Gabriel Barker scrunched them up tightly and began screaming at the top of his lungs. The poor toddler had never been so scared or hurt before.

It took several seconds before Flynn realized what he'd done. Gab had been sitting on his stomach, and in his panic, he'd knocked his little brother to the floor. A sickening sense of dread washed over him and he practically flung himself off the bed when the high-pitched wailing began.

"Gab!" He yelled. "I'm sorry!"

As he rushed towards his crying baby brother, a worried Sarah pushed past his door to check.

Sarah only had to look at things to understand what had happened. Nate thought it was a good idea for the boys to nap together, and for some reason, Gab had fallen off the bed. She would give him a piece of her mind later, for now, Sarah made her way towards her sons and scooped the crying infant off the ground.

"Is he alright?" Flynn asked, still partially in a haze.

"We should bring him to the clinic
