Suyin Huang
ϟ | she had a way of seeing beauty in others, even, and perhaps, most especially, when that person couldn't see it in themselves. | ϟ |

> Suyin Huang
[ Name Pronunciation ]
> SOO - YIN
> HUH - WONG
[ Age ]
> twentysix
[ Gender ]
> female
appearance
> Suyin is a beautiful, slight and tall beauty. She lacks curves and has a mostly athletic build, though is rather thin. She stands tall, 5'7 to be exact. Her complexion is pale and flawless except for the beauty mark she has underneath her right eye. Her hair is dark brown, bordering on black, as well as long, running down to her waist and thick. She usually keeps it groomed under most circumstances.
personality
> Suyin is generally shy under most cases very because of it most people assume her to be quiet too. But she is quite the opposite. Once she feels comfortable enough around a person, she is quite lively and cheerful. Her curiosity often gets the best of her as well as her empathy towards other people. More than anything, she hates to be pitied and looked down upon as she had gone through more than enough of that during the many years she had been blind. But because she recently regained her vision thanks to a donor, she has tried to look on the best side of everything if possible.
background
> Suyin was born to a very well off family who moved to the states after her father received a job offer. It was hard the first year living there as she barely knew any English at the age of five, but soon enough she adjusted. She was only ten, sometime after she became an older sister when she had gotten into an accident that damaged her eyes to the point she was blinded. From that point on her life had changed entirely. The one thing that helped her cope was music, she had already been playing violin and piano and soon enough she was recognized as a prodigy. Suyin was accepted into Julliard and studied there. However, one day when performing for a school concerto, she had fallen off the stage in a panicked state. She was admitted into the hospital and during her stay there she had befriended another girl who was also admitted there. Not long after her friend left, Suyin was approached about a donor. It hasn't been too long since the operation and has now been hired into a symphony to her greatest delight.
The Cellist

Name: Rhysand Norlin
Nickname: Rhys (Reese)
Age: 28
Appearance: Rhys has slightly shaggy brown hair, bright hazel eyes, and he only shaves his scruffy beard when prompted by friends and family. His girlfriend Cynthia was the one who really took care of him and gave him the incentive to keep his facial hair under control. He has a lean build, due mostly to his just above 6 foot height and carrying around his cello. His skin looks just a hint tanned from the brief times that he goes to play his cello in the park. And he can almost always be seen wearing some uncordinated outfit, especially after having been dumped by Cynthia, and only dresses up for performances. It isn't that he is just lazy, but also that he has no fashion sense.
Personality: Rhys is calm when in his element, but easily flustered outside of his element. He doesn't take the lead often, and feels lost since his ex was the one who used to make the decisions.
History: One of the major reasons that Rhys decided to join this Orchestra was to be close to his ex-girlfriend Cynthia. He has always been the kind of person to be told what to do and where to go and not really have his own opinion on things. Or so he thought. One of the reasons why they ended things is because Cynthia got tired of feeling like a mother to him.
Suyin
"She was homesick for someone she had not yet met."
- Atticus
Who would have thought falling off stage after a large performance and landing yourself in the hospital would lead to receiving an eye donor and months after being hired by the New York Symphony? Certainly not Suyin Huang. For her, it appeared as if fortune on top of fortune continued to head her way and she had never been grateful and happy for it. The day she had opened her eyes and saw, truly saw the world around her for the first time, she could see nothing but good things. That was, after she saw her family's crying faces. It was a joyous occasion even more so than being accepted into the very symphony she had applied for. Her happiness could be unmeasured and it could not be contained.
Strangely, Suyin was a bit more clumsy with her sight than she was without it. It was simply because she was not used to truly seeing what was in front of her. She was too used to using her other senses, her hearing in particular. The woman had very keen ears, able to pick up sounds easily and the emotion in others voices. Having all of her senses fully operating was somewhat awkward, but it wasn't nothing she couldn't get used to again. Complaining about would be foolish, after all, this was how it was supposed to be.
The buzzing and loud streets of New York city was something Suyin had also become familiar with. She had been raised in the suburban areas outside of the city but had lived in it during her college years. Her parents had decided to buy an apartment for them all to move. No matter how old she had become, she had been a handicapped woman and needed someone to look after her. It had frustrated Suyin at the time, but now she had come to be thankful for their support and care. However, even now, with the ability to see, her brother escorted her to the theater. He held on to her just as he always had since they were children.
"You really do not have to take me, Yang, I'm fine on my own." Suyin smirked playfully at her brother as the trudged up the steps together. While she meant her words, his physical support was very helpful. The woman missed a step and would have fallen if it wasn't for the young man holding on to her arm.
"You were saying?" Yang smirked himself just as she rolled her eyes. Once they reached the top of the steps, he released Suyin. "I have to get to class, I'll see you at dinner."
"Yes, yes, now go." Suyin pushed his back gently the moment he turned it to her. Her arms crossed over chest, still holding on to her violin case, as she watched him descend the steps and wave her goodbye. Only when he was finally gone and out of her sight did she enter the very building.
As a ball of nerves and anxiety, Suyin was hesitant to walk through the doors as so many others were doing. It would be her first step into a profession that she had dreamed of doing since she was a small child. Music was her passion and she was going to be able to share that passion with thousands and perhaps more. With one deep breath, she walked inside and lost the very breath that she had taken instantly.
Suyin had been to the theater so many times before. This time, however, was the very first time she saw it. And it was magnificent.
