Galina's hopes for her faction's future were shattered, literally and figuratively, by the destruction of the Madurn Sanctuary. Since then, she's discarded and delusions of her faction ever regaining its relevance in Drisbane. Although Natalya's refusal gave her pause, Galina accepted the offer to become a secret operative as a way to pass the time and continue her mostly aimless training. Over the last six months she has recognized the flaws in her skills, and has even modified her melee range by training to use a glaive, but after seeing the Guardian's "Blue Bolt" in action she cannot help but continue accelerating in the hope of one day catching up to her incredible speed.

(This is as good as it's going to get).

She'd more than likely use that time to eat or something lol.

"Eeehhhh we're not really doing that much, so isn't it a waste of time? Let me eat my banana bread!"

This must be made reality

But for now... we wait

Aiden skirts on that edge of anti-heroism that I try so desperately to avoid in my roleplays. Being fond of "questionably immoral" experiments is a red flag in that case, and given he's still in Goetia (after the events of Arc 1), being such a shady individual would mean people like Galina would be sent to... take care of him. In that same vein, as you mistakenly claimed in the Cs, Goetia is no longer itself inclined to perform immoral experiments.

Whether or not the fluff in your CS states it, "Creating something from nothing" is indeed a work of god; what he does would ultimately just take the illusion of coming from nothing, when in fact what he creates is really just a particularly strange energy from a stranger, already existing 'realm'. True "creating" as a power in anyone is a no-no.

Null sounds like a super-move, and so giving it a 3-turn cooldown seems pointless given he can just keep it up indefinitely as it appears.

The powers of his weapons hinge on being abilities themselves, which exceeds the 3-ability rule.

@.CandidFox.
I'm just going to go ahead and outright say this immediately.
I'm not allowing any more people to enter as Unaffiliated. I don't want to deal with additional Unaffiliated again. Sorry.

Wait... what? ...How?

Your grammar also does not reflect an Adept writing level, I'm sorry to say.

I understand the anti heroism problem and well fix it when I get the chance, as well as the weapon problem. I figured you'd say something like that, but hey, can't blame a guy for trying.

And yeah, he isn't TRULY creating something from nothing, but like you said creating the illusion of it. I'll clear that up a bit later as well. Unfortunately I can not fix these problems effectively at the current moment as I'm not on a computer. But when I am, I'll get right on it

As for Null what I'm drawing from that is that it should be buffed by removing the cool down?

Feel free to use Eleena as a motivator to get him off the anti-hero track

She's acts like your usual energetic-type girl

I'll make him more of the childish-kind hearted guy he was originally. I'll place him I'm the Guardians, though keep him a student if the school of Goetia.

Age
16

Gender
Male

Personality
After an hour of hanging out with Aiden, you would never guess that he was once a part of the darker Goetia. He seems like a kid with his head in the clouds, always wondering about what isn't there. And it started out as a child like wonder, and an over active imagination. Though these fantasies became his driving force, and he soon began devoting his time and energy to making them reality. While not experimenting, Aiden is likely training his body and mind in order to overcome the exhausting effects distorting reality has on the user. He is always up for sparing, and is a generally nice guy, if not a little out of it.

Biography
Since birth, Aiden has had an interest in what was not there. He saw the empty space as limitless possibilities. As he grew up, he often talked about all the things that could be there. needless to say, he had a wild imagination. But he never grew out of it. His parents were members of the Aesil, and were alchemists and healers for the Faction. As such, Aiden had access to some arcane and alchemical knowledge. Of course this did not last long. Soon after Judgment was passed. It was strange. Suddenly everyone was gone. He was sad, yes. But he didn't feel the need to mourn. Now it was empty. It was this vast emptiness that had inspired him. He would fill it. He abandoned the Aesil, who believed what was, was meant to be, and what was not should never be. "To create from nothing should only be the work of God," they said. They would never understand. So he turned to the Goetia. After all, they were the ones with the knowledge and the magic to pull off such feats. He began studying. His parents being alchemists, he was familiar with the science, though he soon discovered it did not follow the laws of this realm. He tried time after time, pouring countless hours into research just to find a way to create something from nothing. Until he thought of using spatial magics. If he could bend the very fabric of reality, he might be able to accomplish his goal. It required further study and countless failed experiments, but he finally succeeded. He managed to forge a small box out of nothing. However it lasted only for a few seconds before disintegrating into nothing. The creation process was long and exhausting. But he did it. He knew that if he wished to continue this line of study, he would need to train his body and mind as well. The further he study, the more he began to understand what he was doing. There was no way that someone can create from nothing. Truly that is the work of a God. But this was as close as he would get. By forging these items he was taking the materials required from another dimension. Being otherworldly, there is no telling how these inter-dimensional materials would react in this realm. They were often unstable. This was why the "Void Items", as he called them, would dissipate after a short while: their molecular composition could not survive in this dimension. However, there is still more to learn, and so Aiden will keep experimenting.

After the Goetia was stripped of its status, and converted to a school of the arcane, Aiden remained within it's wall, continuing his studies. He had joined the Guardians after the ordeal, hoping that they would train his physical capabilities in order to study further. And, of course helping people isn't bad either. Allows for some real world application to his discoveries.

Stats
Might - 2
Finesse - 3
Fortitude - 7
Health - 4
Speed -1
Perception - 3

Abilities

~~~~Rift~~~~
A small rip in space, allows for the instant change in location. It is not a portal, but rather a distortion of reality. small objects weighing less than an average human can be shifted with little repercussion. but the shifting of something the size of a human being will result in a -1 penalty to Fortitude for a turn and a cool down of three turns. The maximum distance that can be shifted is two meters
~~~~Dark Matter Forge~~~~

The subject Aiden assigns most of his time to. A sister science to alchemy, yet its exact opposite. Alchemy, or more specifically transmutation is the analysis of an object's makeup, deconstructing it, and rebuilding it into something different: creating something from something. Dark Matter forging is to create something from nothing, or so it appears. In actuality, Forging uses spatial magics to distort reality, and uses energy and material from another dimension to create. These objects, referred to as Void Items normally do not last very long, and tend to be no bigger than one meter long by one meter wide, and do not conform to the normal laws of physics, allowing them to float or change shape once created. However, in combat, a weapon or shield need only to appear for a few moments to be used effectively. While in combat the strain caused by Forging results in a -1 penalty to Fortitude until the next turn, and a cooldown of one turn. See The Forge in Equipment

~~~~Null~~~~
Aiden's Trump Card. If Aiden is in a pinch he can create a small pocket dimension originating from himself, or a target that goes out 15 meters from the origin in all directions. Only Aiden, the origin point, and two other things, living or non-living can exist in this sphere, and all current buffs/debuffs to enemies or allies are nullified. The only way out is by Aiden releasing the sphere or the origin of the sphere ceasing to live/be whole. But as there always is with this form of magic, there is a drawback. Since it is an empty realm filled with what could be, there too is the Dark Matter. While in this sphere Aiden limitless has access to the Dark Matter Forge and Rift, bypassing their penalties and cooldown times. However, keeping this sphere is exhausting, and Aiden takes a -3 penalty to Fortitude for the duration he holds the space, and each turn after the first, he takes another -2 penalty to Fortitude.
Equipment
The Forge: A small metallic orb which Aiden enchanted with spatial magic in order to more effectively forge Void Items. So long as Aiden wields The Forge, he is able to more efficiently create Void Items. By using The Forge as the source of energy required, he can bypass the cooldown time and Fortitude Penalty of his Dark Matter Forge. However, the Forge has a cooldown of one turn, and can only be used four times per every charge. Charging take no more than a few minutes, but it would be nearly impossible to accomplish in battle as it requires much concentration. Should Aiden be stripped of The Forge, he can no longer gain its benefits until it is obtained
Hammer: A standard mace he has named Hammer
Anvil: A kite shield he has named Anvil..
Well here it is.
Edited. Weapons are still enchanted, so check that to make sure they work, and non-antiheroic
Alright, here's the big buff-up:
Finesse +1
Health +3
Speed +1
Perception +3
Ability Upgrade:
Competent Swordsman -> Blademaster
Natalya's daily practise with the sword has elevated her skills with a blade to a much greater level. When using any sword-based weapon, she gains +2 to Might and Finesse.
Natalya, thoroughly tired of secrets, assassination attempts and all the other elements that accompanied working undercover, rejected the offer to hunt down those still loyal to Kaileb. Returning to her home near the borders of the abandoned district, she continued much as she had before. Her experiences matured her somewhat, and she spent more time in the library seeking the knowledge of magic. Aware of her failings she took serious steps to rectify them. She also returned to her night-time walks around the various poor areas of Drisbane, leaving her little gifts. A small stray cat, weak and starving when she found it, now has its own little place in her house. A tenuous camaraderie between Natalya and Halberd was continued, with the two meeting up semi-regularly to spar. However, as Halberd's views became more extreme, their friendship became more strained, and eventually Natalya lost her temper, telling him exactly what she thought of him, and storming off. They haven't spoken since.
...Geez...everyone's going through shit (except for Eleena), huh?
Eleena is impervious to going through shit. I imagine if her legs were cut off she would give a cheesy anime speech to an empty room and start learning to run on all fours using her stubs.
...Geez...everyone's going through shit (except for Eleena), huh?
Natalya's not doing much except losing her shit at Halberd and getting a cat :P
And then the cat dies.
>angsting increases
Still the enchanted weapons are too much. If weapons are to have a particular special quality to them that gives and edge over mundane weaponry, they take up an ability slot. "Special" weapons, be they magical, mechanical, etc, count as an ability.
If you want to keep Null, given it's benefits, he'll need more than just a -2 then -1 Fortitude penalty. As it is, the boons it gives him tied with the lackluster debuffs make it so in all cases Null is the preferable fighting method. There's no reason for him not to use it at all times. I'm thinking a -3 Fortitude at the start and -2 Fortitude for the duration.
Oh so thats what you meant about Null. I was a little confused about that. Alright, I'll get onto that.
I would like to remind everyone that though we are working on upgrades and the like, the due date for IC posts still remains. :3
Meanwhile, in AH collab...:3
But yeah, I'll get to a post after I get off work. Might have to pull off some unpaid overtime though.
And Asuras, it's totes fine for Aesil to carry unlimited throwing knives or something like that, right? :3
Yea sure. I'm not going to make you guys keep track of disposable weapons.
@Asuras
Changes have been made. Weapons are now standard weapons, and Null now has a -3 penalty for the duration of Null and -2 for each turn it is kept up.
